i think back to the 2 weeks before i know i was pg with ds and i

  • got so drunk that a taxi driver threatened to throw us out of the cab because we were singing.

  • climbed onto the roof at work in torrential rain to unblock the guttering because the kitchen was flooding

  • drank 2 bottles of wine with lilsis and fell over trying to switch the security light on

  • got so stoned that i had to be put to bed

smoked a lot* of cigarettes and drank every night with the chefs after work

  • lived on as little food as possible and lots of strong coffee (was restaurant manager) working up to 18hrs per day.

and now i try to be the purest of the pure to concieve another dc. does it really make any difference?

Just wanted to say that I'm in the same place too. Got pregnant without trying the first time, she's now 4.5 and I really want another. We've been trying for 9 months now and I'm sick of it - monitoring this, that and the other. I don't care when AF is due anymore, and I refuse try very hard anyway to monitor my fertile days. Why bother? grrrrrrr
I'm now starting to think I should be grateful I've got DD and wean myself off wanting a baby . Doesn't help that she keeps asking for a brother AND a sister , she's got that guilt thing down to a tee....
Congrats to those who've had their BFPs

hi ladies

just been reading your thread and it has really been making me laugh!! Congrats ladies on your BFP's !!
That's it Ive decided to be very naughty next month and NOT do the following:

  • take my temperature every bloody morning at 7am even on a weekend

  • say no to every night out which will include alcohol, just incase im PG!!

  • check my knickers and discharge for any sign of EWCM!! Sorry TMI

  • make note of every single solitary symptom. Even down to how long my farts are ha ha .... sorry!!

And i am going to do lots of digging in the garden, drink , eat and BD when i fancy!!

I have been ttc for about 2 years now, tried clomid for 6 months with no luck and am now on waiting list for ivf, which should be september!! So many of my friends and family have fallen pregnant, had their babies and are probably planning their next one!! I have tried IUI this month and am now on 2ww, so am going to get rat arsed and smoke a spliff to make me " relax " ha ha

funtimewincies · 06/04/2009 19:06

Well, you know how I was going to do as I fancied last month. I drank what I liked, dig lots of digging on the allotment, ate anything I chose...well I'm 6.5 weeks pg and signs are good that this one might (keeping everything crossed) hang around !

Scandalous mugging and waving to ray and wasabi!

HeadFairy · 06/04/2009 18:19

Congratulations Ray, so did you become a drug addict or what?

Hope the ms isn't too terrible ('s worth it in the end though isn't it? )

ray81 · 06/04/2009 16:05

hey guys,

post last month and felt the same as you all.
guess whay am now pg 5+6 so 6 weeks tomorrow and sick as a dog today think am going to suffer with ms with this one as didnt with dd.

I was ttc for 5 yrs and have had 3mc so just wanted to say that although i am early and i hope this one sticks that you shouldnt give up there is hope i promise you.

HeadFairy · 06/04/2009 11:58

I regularly tempt fate wearing pristine white frilly knickers just to goad af... she always takes the bait (the bitch )

happyfaceschildcare · 06/04/2009 11:43

Ooo not a conversation you want to have with your mother in law lol

Although I am at the stage now where I don't want to be trying for a baby anymore I am going to be more grateful for what I've got than focusing on what I haven't got, I'm still despirate for that baby but getting anxious about it isn't going to help so kind of see where she's coming from enjoyable care free sex sounds good to me

beanieb · 06/04/2009 11:37

Happyfaceschildcare - I sometimes feel the same about going back on the pill. I wonder too if going back on it for 3 months would actually mean I'll be more fertile when I come off it

My MIL spoke to me the other day and told me to 'relax and have fun with mrBeanieb' GROAN! By fun I think she meant 'have good enjoyable carefree sex' which makes me think either he's been talking to her (ERK!) or she thinks we don't do anything but have sex for babies!

happyfaceschildcare · 06/04/2009 11:30

I'm lovin this thread girls, I am in the same boat, have been trying for over a year to coneive #2 and can just not bloody get pregnant am convinced I'm trying to hard as my dd was conceived by pure accident whilst on the pill !! now I'm a vision of health ratteling with vitamins, counting days, checking my nickers and nothing !!!!! I'm having blood tests and scans dh has a better relationship with a cup than with me and still nothin, why bother maybe I should go back on the pill lol

mistlethrush · 26/03/2009 18:17

ME to! Secretary at work has just come back to work after ml - her son was born about 2wks before my last edd; someone else currently on ml....

wasabipeanut · 26/03/2009 09:13

Yeah - plus my next door neighbour, my SIL and one of my closest friends are all in their trimesters. I can't move without bumping into a pregnant person it seems. Delighted as I am for them, as you say, it all feels very raw at the moment.

OracleInaCoracle · 26/03/2009 09:10

dont apologise, its all still pretty raw. its frustrating that everyone else we know seems to get up the stick as soon as they drop their knickers. up until recently ive got pg quite easily and have had probs staying pg, now ive had to ring cons to make appointment and the next step is clomid. 2y ago i was quite excited about clomid, now i feel a bit meh about it.

Yes! I am having a very bad day - managed to convince myself that I was more fertile after my mc in January and found out yesterday that. actually, I'm not. In a pretty dark place at the moment tbh.

Sick of the f**king sight of folic acid but am on my 2nd cup of caffienated coffee to console myself.

When we concieved ds(about 2 days after we got married it seems - we were going to officially start trying in the January and were pg by December)we were both drinking buckets of booze, smoking lots, drinking coffee etc. I also distinctly remember ordering a virtually raw steak one evening before Xmas. We were quite stressed because it was the run up to our wedding and I continued to drink loads as it was Xmas and New Year!

A healthy, apparently unaffected ds emerged 9 months(ish) later.

Been ttc number 2 since last August - BFP in December followed by mc in Jan. Gave up smoking, caffiene, cut down massively on booze (1 glass of wine a night tops) , lots of Pregnacare "conception" blah blah.

Tis all bollcks. Sorry I'm having a bit of a negative day.

OracleInaCoracle · 26/03/2009 08:57

you know mistlethrush, the only ttc thread i freqjuent now is the step away thread. (and the hut, but thats not really a ttc thread is it?

belgianbun, congrats!

laurielou, thanks (i actually toned them down for fear of a mn flaming)

joy, did you get shitfaced?

Yes - have given up on folic acid. Dh appears to have given up sex which doesn't help. We started ttc #2 when ds was 18mo. He's 4 next month. 2 mc down the line, including 3 months of being completely paranoid that mp returning (as things didn't settle down for ages) I've removed myself from the ttc threads - doesnt' seem applicable any more.

laurielou · 24/03/2009 11:13

In answer to the thread, yes, yes and YES! Nearly 2 years of trying, not caught once. Am loving your drunken tales though, they have made me smile. Just finished AF, so boyf is in for a fun fuelled few weeks. Wish me luck..........

Joy27 · 20/03/2009 09:20

Hello, I'm feeling bitter so going to jump in and say YES.

As Ray knows (hi Ray), my period is 10 days late but I've just had a BFN (two, in fact).

Have given up smoking but there is a work do tonight and I feel like getting tanked and smoking a pack of 20 and waking up with my knickers on my head and my face in a kebab tomorrow morning.

Rarrr.

OracleInaCoracle · 20/03/2009 08:07

pissed off. period is here 4d early, thats now 3y4m that we have been ttc.

OP posts:
funtimewincies · 16/03/2009 13:08

I'm planning on getting squiffy this weekend in defiance...but only if AF has arrived . So rock 'n rock !

OracleInaCoracle · 16/03/2009 11:30

ah, i suppose a lot of the changes weve made have been positive, but weve made those changes for a reason and if anything they seem to have made things worse!

OP posts:
totalmisfit · 16/03/2009 10:45

i couldn't agree more with the op.

got pregnant with dd whilst having a really turbulant drunken time. i had no idea till i was already a week late, thought dh and i were being 'careful'. i was literally drinking and smoking my arse off.

4 years later we're 'trying' for the first time and it feels like work, bloody horrid grapefruit juice, feeling guilty about the odd glass of wine, even worrying about whether ROC Retinox moisturiser is safe to use...

ttc is all i can think and talk about and we're only 2 months in. i'm dull, dull dull.
