Anyone want to join me in a waiting to conceive thread ? Anyone else really broody but can't TTC yet ?

Hi Imogen, I really don't think you're pregnant given the dates you've said. The 1st day of your cycle is when your period starts (CD1) and the average woman ovulates 14 days after that, give or take. This is your most fertile time. So unless you are very unlucky and, like my friend did, have an ectopic pg which she didn't discover until after her period which had come, so she thought, as normal. But if you have already done a test which is negative, thats very unlikely. I found I had loads of symptoms about the middle of the month, but when I was actually pg I would never had noticed if I hadn't been watching for my period to start - not a symptoms to be seen! Curly we enjoyed it until the red arrows came in low and loud from behind DS and scared him! DD slept through them!

imogen, Unless you ovulate very early, i would say you haven't ovulated yet so can not be pregnant. i wouldn't be testing until 1st Aug.

Hi Imogen! Fingers crossed it is the good news you are hoping for. This is the waiting room here on this thread, none of us is actually at the same stage as you yet. But some of our residents are on #2 or #3, so might be able to help. Also, if you explore the rest of "Conception" folder, you'll find other people more knowledgeable with the symptoms of being pregnant.

help, please! i've never been on this site before.

my partner and i have been trying for several months now, and i'm addicted to these kind of sites, reading other peoples symptoms etc. this is the first time i've posted on one tho.

every month i talk myself into "symptoms" and every month i am dissapointed.

this time though, it does feel different. i'm having the most vivid and random dreams, about people and places i havn't seen for years. i'm out of my mind horny, and for the last few days, had a strange ache in my tummy, like a tugging feeling, that today has spread right across my back, and sides. i have a kind of wave of nausea every half hour or so, though only mildly, and i havn't been sick. my last period began friday 3rd, and ended thursday 9th, so i have quite a while until my next period is due, and i have irregular periods anyway, so i wouldn't neccesarily know i'm late. have had neg test yesterday, and again this morning. does anybody have any advice for me? when should i be testing?

we'll just have to see with the number of kids thing. Sure it will change my priorities, but with my health I suspect less will be more x

Hi hobnob, we're off to my nephew's 1st birthday this weekend coming!

We're between Telford and wolves curly, have been since Dec last year. And starting at 30 isn't a reason to limit your numbers, I was 31 last week an have plenty of time to increase the family!

DH away for a fortnight now and today is CD1 - could be an interesting reunion!

So at those of you who didn't have MS - I was green in the face for very different reasons through mine. Never mind tho.

Found another box of baby clothes last night in the bathroom - it had DD's coming home outfit in there - that was it then, tears rolling down.

Yorky I also haven't made 40 completeted weeks yet although ds was close at 39+6. DD was 35+4.

Curly My ds is 3 and dd is and I can't wait to have another! Seriously having babies done funny things to you. It makes you want more... For me now its seeing the independence shown by both of them and yet seeing how loving they are to eachother. I've told them there might be another baby soon and they're very excited.

Hey Yorky - forgot to say welcome to you! I'm in Shropshire too - have been for about five years.

I'll count my blessings then re not having a toddler. Think SIL is planning another and I seriously wouldn't fancy that while my dear nephew (think three-year-old whirlwind) is under her feet!

Medee I have no idea! Think two would be plenty, seeing as I am only just starting at 30. Depends how PG goes really... will stop at one if it means we're all happy and healthy.

Kayzr, no MS and I've got one of each! How to confuse an old wives tale! Did lose interest in food early on with DD though, and went off meat slightly

Don't know how mum did with pregnancy, but she seemed pretty good at giving birth and so far I've done OK. Hoping that I can follow birth weight patterns too, her 3rd as lightest and after 9lb9.5oz DD I don't want them much bigger! Think all of hers were late though and I've not quite made it to 40wks yet

Caspar, I'm jealous of you doing it all for the 1st time, no toddler to run after, and sleep when it suits you, not when it suits a small person!

Reading further back on the thread v of Ladybee's NZ wedding. We went there for 1st anniversary as my Godmothers eldest son was getting married a year and a day after us! It was great

OhMyGod..I almost forgot to tell you.

Yesterday whilst trying to get my bathroom after a year long improvement (still not finished and fed of looking at boxes...) I started to unpack some of the boxes so I could have my towel rack back and my loo roll holder (windowsill not cutting it anymore!) and I found loads of dd's baby clothes.

There were vests and sleepsuits, dresses and pretty pink things, socks and bootees... I was almost crying, felt very exciting - almost like a sign that it's coming soon (I hope). I didn't even know they were in there - I thought they were in the loft - or at the charity shop!

Had to tell someone! xxx

yorky Hi middle-name twin Weren't you scared driving home from appnt? If you're not in N.Yorks anymore - are u still round and about? I live in W.Yorks - only reason I'm asking.

Curly We don't really know what to expect as literally each pg is different and just as exciting/daunting - I know that sounds cheesy! But it's true. I had M/S with both my kids but was definitely worse with my DS, little bugger gave me horrid heartburn as well (but so did dd - just not so bad)
Also - the baby smell really is something to breathe in deeply when you have it - it smells of innocence and trust - to me anyway

I haven't a clue if I followed mum - I think I kinda did as she had an early baby, her first son was born 6weeks early but died after 3 hours. My dd was born 5 weeks early but thankfully just needed an incubator for a few hours and was jaundiced - otherwise ok.
I think she was induced with either my brother or sister and I was 2 weeks early. Weights I can only guess - apart from mums first - he was 3lbs?oz, my brother was over 8lbs and my sister was just over 6lbs.
My babies were heavier than that DD was 7lb3oz and ds was 8lb6oz.

I followed my mum. I was 7lb 2oz and so was DS1. My brother was 9lb 2oz but DS2 was 10lb 5oz!!!! So I followed her by having a bigger 2nd baby.

A bit jealous of those of you who know what to expect. But then again, first time is exciting!

Just had to look up SPD - ouch! Sounds a bit like my arthritis pain, which I'm hoping to say goodbye to during pregnancy.

Told mum that we're planning TTC this afternoon. She sounded happy, but not carried away which is good. Told me her pregnancies were pretty much a breeze and she conceived almost right away when trying for both of us. And we were both small babies born happy and healthy 3 weeks early. I so hope I take after her (I do with everything else womanly - the good and the bad)

Has anyone on here had similar PGs to their mums? [hopeful face]

Yorky, another one that hasn't had morning sickness! Most people say to me that I must be the only person that has never had it. Though I have 2 boys and a lot of people tell me that if I have a girl I will have ms.

I had heartburn with DD but not too bad, definitely worse than with DS, but am as yet a stranger to morning sickness, fingers crossed

just calculated when my ppill pack will end- middle of sept so thats ttc time excited, nervous, feel clueless- bu nevermind!!

Ugh! Heartburn - has to be the most repulsive pg symptom there is!!! I'm like Kazr, I had it all the way through both my pg's. Am also expecting to get SPD with DC3 as had it quite bad with ds (although not so bad with dd?)

Kaylo Your name always makes me smile. My aunt has called me Kaylo since I was a baby!

I got quite mild SPD with DS2 so I am expecting it with number 3. Never had morning sickness(touch wood) so not sure if I should expect it next time.
The worst thing about pregnancy for me is heartburn. I got it form 20 weeks with DS1 and had it all day everyday until he was born. With DS2 I had it from 10 weeks and again all day everyday until he was born. But not everyone gets it.

Sounds like you're as 'forgetful' as I was after my first baby. Low and behold DS was conceived (although in the end we did decide to scrap any ideas of contraception anyway] am now hoping to start TTC in 4-5 weeks (mid-end August) was gonna be September but due to ovulation dates it's gonna be last half of August!!

I see what you mean about driving while pg, I had SPD with ds and could barely fit in passenger side let alone drivers side - I was huuuuuge and very very painful getting in and out of car.

Hello everyone, can I gatecrash?

I'm not sure I'm TTC yet, DD isn't quite 8months atm but I keep 'forgetting' to ring the med centre to make an appt about contraception
Also have DS 2.5yrs

I know what you mean about all baby food being orange - although DD had homemade leftover chilli tonight, not orange but looks the same at both ends [green but not envious emoticon!]

As for driving when heavily pg I went to my last AN appt and asked for a sweep, only to be told I was already 5cms! so I don't see pg as a problem when driving - on the other hands I have friends who have been virtually housebound with spd so its luck of the draw I suppose

curly and medee Kayzr is right - it does all seem to be orange tho...apart from boxed up powdered weaning food (baby rice/banana surprise/porridge...etc) Andit reallt is great fun but wear an apron - and cover the walls and carpet in a wipe-clean fabric as well

babies have a wonderful smell especially after bathtime and you've massaged them down in talc and lavender lotion - you just can't beat it. My 2 kids are 3 and 4 and they just can't smell like that anymore.
