Anyone want to join me in a waiting to conceive thread ? Anyone else really broody but can't TTC yet ?

Had my first day back at work y'day after 6 weeks off and it was actually ok - would def have preferred not being there but still, it's money towards my maternity leave I guess. That thought is keeping me going with it.

How is everyone? I think I'll be on here a lot less now I'm back at work but I'll still try and catch up as often as I can.

Thanks hobnob,the last test i did was yesterday so you'd think it would show up by now,but then again,i just got out my test from dd2,it was one where you take a sample to the pharmacy,it says i was 10 days late and i also remember doing a test the day before at home and it was really really faint
Just been to the loo though and there was a tiny tiny little bit of blood,to be honest by now i don't care either way aslong as something happens soon!!

Hi everyone,hope you don't mind me joining,was just reading through your thread and and realised a few off you had come off the pill and had to wait a while for periods to resume,i'm on cd 37 and still no sign,is this normal? i'm ttc no3 and on cycle one,did'nt have this problem last two times

Ok I meant "where my body's at", I do not have two bodies (or more for that matter)

Period from hell was indeed short and is over woo hoooo! No additional drugs taken, but then I'm pretty dozed up anyway. Found out last week I can take my regular ibuprofen right up to TTC so no need to be in pain until then, and I'm not feeling any worse yet from having come off the other arthritis drugs. I'm afraid I cannot join some of the others in the medication-free club, although I have lavender heat bags that do provide welcome additional relief.

Had bloods done today to check where my bodies at with it all, plus to check my rubella status. All the little steps that make me feel I'm at least doing something towards the TTC effort.

Hi pigley nothing like a baby growing up to make you broody! Thats what happened with me - my kids are 3(ds) and 4(dd). I've been broody for ages but have only recently bribed forced convinced dh that sometime soon would be a good time.

DH and I have agreed that we will start TTC number 2 in a few months.
We have just moved house and need to get a few things fixed/sorted before we think about anything else.

We have a DD who is 1 on Friday!! So mega broody. My little baby is growing up To make things worse she learnt to walk last week and now toddles around the house making her look even more grown up!

Thanks Kaylo! im good, feel relived that we have finally decided: why not have #3 as we /mainly me, were back and forth with the idea over the past year. SIL is pg with her 1st(14 weeks) , so i hope i can join her on the pg bus soon!!!

I totally made that sound wrong in my last post re medication.

I'm not totally opposed to it - I just don't like using tablets to ease an achy foot, mild headache, splinter etc. My brother does - he can go through a box in 2-3 days (another story - he has a thing for tablets and it's not good! He's an idiot! and a waste of space at times!!!)

Anyway.

Whats everyone up to? I'm trying to enjoy my time at home today as I'm back at work tomorrow so will be back to working 12-9 every day

Wish I could be a stay at home mum. DH won't let me. Don't suppose anyone knows of work from home jobs that aren't scams??

Hobnob - those wheat bags are worth a million!! All our family has one each because we're almost all opposed to medication (I refer only to optional medication here such as paracetamol etc).

Even in labour I had only gas and air, didn't even use that until I was 8cms!!

Curly Hopefully your cycles will settle into a nice normal cycle soon for you. I know exactly what you mean about the whole new month thing - it really makes it sound another lifetime away!!

Hi all need to mumsnet... DH and I have decided to have DC#3, but as yet have to wait to TTC , so i can come off pill, get up to date smear and stop anxiety tabs too, so at this stage it could be 3 or 4 months before we actually get down to to actually TTC-ING!! but its is exciting anyways to have a little secret!
We got married 8 months ago and have a DS(3 yrs old) and ive a DS(12 yrs old). And we celebrate 10 years together early 2010 so a new baby will be a great present for us both!

Yup - swine flu will not stop me (I hope). I was immuno-suppressed, but that was because of the meds I have stopped taking in order to TTC, so at least I should be able to fight it better if it happens.

Hobnob Mine were horrendous before the pill (heavy, painful and full 7 days) and still not pleasant on it ( a little lighter and only about 5 days). This one has been weird by contrast. Excrutiating/heavy-ish for 2 days, now faded to no pain and v little flow. Bizarre! Shame there's no way of telling if there was actually an egg in there...

If my next couple of cycles are as long as the last. I'm now looking at TTC in early October, cause won't have had three months off meds in the early sept window. It's only a few days later than expected, but moving my TTC date into a whole new month makes it seem so much further off

It's not going to put me off TTC - I hope that doesn't sound irresponsible but I agree that a lot of the info floating around is there to scare us - the fact that there is a treatment in place for pg women definitely settles me a little. And like rimmer said - who knows how long it's going to take to catch on anyway.

me too hobnob (love the name btw) if i get it i get it, the media does scremonger. the only reason i worry is because i work in a school. i didnt have the winter flu jab, didnt think it was worth it as have only had flu once, generally people thinkthey have flu when all they have is a cold. also hobnob, i hope i am as lucky about my periods too but from what i remember used to get horrendous period pains and heavy flow (TMI?)

good news, Hobnob, re your period, less so about the flu-infected husband!

My personal views are that I am generally quite healthy, had the winter flu jab last year (though I know it is different strains), it's not hit too hard where I am yet, and who knows how long it will take to get pregnant anyway. I think there is an element of scaremongering, and this vague "underlying health conditions" statement is less than satisfactory.
