Please don't be offended if you're not named, you're still welcome, I just have a rubbish memory. I can see a couple of you on November thread but there's a whole load of people not there. Just wondering if you wanted a little thread to keep in touch?

Headfairy - just replied to you on grapefruit thread. So sorry about your sad news. Was hoping a new thread might provide you with support from old friends.

And Sunnydale, I know you're wary of new threads, so though you might also like the company of old friends.

Wishing and Bubble having your weird long cycles and missing whole month's threads, thought this might be one for you too.

So what do you say? I'll start a list just in case:

Hi ladies,

Working away at coalface all day so felt I deserved some mnet time .

Firstly Happy birthday irish - you are indeed a bairn - enjoy!

Oh sif - hats off to your preparedness and vent free sick bags - its just horrible isn't it.. I was at playgroup committee last night (don't mock me your time will come!!) and kept it in for 2 hours then home, do not pass go and VOM into loo.

sif and wasabi - the early weeks are - frankly - mitigated hell in a physical, emotional and psychological way. Just find the dunkirk spirit and soilder on.

Had my practical session with my hypnotherapist yesterday so thought I'd pass some tips on:

  1. Relax, deep breath and visualise your new baby, how you will feel when you hold him/her for the first time, walking him/her around in the pram.
  1. If your anxiety gets acute hold a pen very very tightly until it is sore and then release it and say "I am releasing my stress"
  1. Remember what fun things you like in life (for me it is having a good belly laugh - something I've not done in ages), listening to music, spending quality time with DH

Hell, anything that might help .

I'm getting a bit worried about Head - she's not been on since last Monday... Head - please let us know you're OK...

jumping - really hope your long wait is soon over

girl - how are you?

Better get back to work - last day until Monday -

wasabipeanut · 27/05/2009 15:02

Sif you do make me laugh. "Chunder your way round London." I expect from your perspective though it is somewhat less amusing.

At the moment although I am more tired and sometimes feel as if my boobs are being squeezed by an invisible hand (NOT a pleasant sensation) I don't feel much different bar the odd dizzy spell. I have never wanted to feel sick as much as I do now. I'm sure I felt a couple of little surges of nausea this morning before breakfast but I might be tryng to convince myself. I am only 4+3 so need to calm down but still. It's difficult.

sifuentes · 27/05/2009 12:37

girl i have missed you!! Are you ok?

girlwithacurl · 27/05/2009 11:53

Hi, just popping on to say congratulations sif... this is proving a very lucky thread!

sifuentes · 27/05/2009 11:45

Ahh wasabs welcome to my world!I still feel like crap but not to the extent i did at the end of last week. So obviously now I am worrying that it's a bad sign.

It's a no wine situation at this stage.

I had a very hormonal day yesterday. Cried about 3 times including at the GP.She offered to sign me off work but considering I'm only 6 +5 today and there is still, potentially, a long wait and the HCG may not have hit it's peak, I declined. Instead I'm doing 10am - 4pm this week and I'll see how I go.

Was sick at Waterloo station this morning. By the bus stop. Thankfully I had a sick bag with me. And thankfully (thanks to Blue's unfortunate mishap) I had packed an air-vent free one. Chunder your way around london - wel it's one way to take in the sights...

Anyway, as I say, not feeling on my death bed and very much hoping that that is a good thing. End of.

irish at you for being so young!

jumping wishing you all the luck in the world with the CVS. It looks like London is going to be your place.

blue are you still off chilling? Hope you are ok. Get a bit worried if you don't post but am thinking no news is good news.

Has anyone heard anything from Wishing? issy how are you doing? My first scan is a week on Monday. I.e. 20 centuries away...

wasabipeanut · 26/05/2009 13:52

Aw thanks everyone for your kind words. It's still sinking in really. One minute I feel really positive and I talk to my little peanut and practise lots of positive visualisations.

Please accept my apologies for the therapy speak. This is what hypnotherapy does to you - Blue you have been warned.

Then I panic that I'm not sick yet and I wasn't sick last time and we all know how that one ended.

Then I remind myself I am only 4+2 and I hadn't even tested at that point with DS let alone be having ms.

It's going to be a long few weeks.

JumpingJellyfish · 26/05/2009 10:33

feed? - feel of course!

JumpingJellyfish · 26/05/2009 10:32

Congrats wasabi!! That is just brilliant news, so so chuffed for you
Hope the wait for scans etc. goes smoothly and quickly.

Issy thank you for the link. I can't find much on CVS at the mo from there, but from reading around a bit I think there are a few hospitals (mostly in London) that offer transvaginal CVS, and we could pay privately and try the FMC. Just hoping things will have moved on Friday and they're able to do it there and then...I'm getting so fed up of the wait, and the pulling of wool over everyone's eyes.
Great news too that you got the 3+ on the HPT. Hope you can kind of relax a little before your scan- not long now! Thinking of you and the bean(s) lots x

Irish good luck at the docs- really hope like me it'll be the month you're successful when the tests are being done.

sif really feed for you wrt the ms, it's so awful. Hope you are coping ok.

Got to dash but will keep an eye on you all!

irishmumwannabe · 25/05/2009 13:29

Wasabi that is such fantastic news (must get your fitness plan for DH's swimmers to follow - I feel they weren't committed enough this time around)

I'm on CD25 of a 25 - 34 day cycle (based on the last 2 months) so shall have to wait and see what tomorrow brings if AF hasn't arrived in the mean time.

Jumping I really hope that something happens soon for you on the CVS front. It must be such a mare to have to deal with the various complications and waiting. I hope you get some answers soon.

Blue sounds like you had a good weekend - chilling out always sounds lovely. Hope you have a lovely weekend next weekend, I'm 2 days behind you (Wednesday) but will only be 29.

Oh and the holidays wil be spent sleeping in the living room of my friend's 2 bed apartment (she shares with another girl) so bd wil be off the menu I'm afraid for this month. We'll have to see what we can do

Issy that's brilliant news for you too - at least you can relax a little bit more than before.

Thanks everyone for the nice words re the BFN. I'm going to attack ttc with a renewed vigour when I get back from hols - the doc is getting a visit
and DH is giving up smoking properly (he keeps saying he will and then I catch him at it again and again) and I will get my BFP before the summer is over!

sifuentes · 25/05/2009 12:54

Yay wasabs I had such a feeling too! congrats congrats!!

blue thanks for adding me to the list. can't remember the date, it was two weeks ago this monday though. Will hunt it out and add it later.Really really pleased that you chilled this weekend.

issy yay on the 3+. Maybe now you can step away from the sticks?! 9 sleeps doesn't sound too long at all. Got to get on and book my scan.

irish sorry about the BFN. It's such a bugger but holidays always help. alot. and at least you can have the odd drink now and not feel like crap while you're there.

jumping jesus. what a nightmare you're going through. really really hope you find somewhere that can do the CVS transvaginally. Hope issy's clinic can help.

I got up and went to bed again this morning. feeling sick and absolutely shattered, cos obviously having done nothing I am now worn out. I am so pathetic at being preg. Dreading work tomorrow. Off to homebase now though to get some flowers for the garden yard.

bluesatinsash · 25/05/2009 12:31

Hi everyone,

Not been on over the weekend, deliberately had a 'no PC' rule to try and relax and chill which I did .

wasabi - congratulations to you - fantastic news - I had a feeling this month was yours .

Issy - glad to hear your clearblue read 3+ but as everyone says, they are so unreliable so try not to worry. Only 9 sleeps til your scan.

Irish - so sorry to hear about your favourite cat and your BFN, what cycle day are you on? Maybe still time? Good thinking though that your hols are in 2 weeks time - I conceived this time during DH and my week's holiday - I do believe being relaxed helps!

Jumping - so so to read your post. you must be going through hell trying to get this done. Have you looked at Issy's site?

Sif and Head - big up to you both and hope your relaxing and not feeling too bleugh.

Well I'm at work (boo) but am off on Friday as its my (whisper) 38th birthday. DH and me are off to Glasgow for lunch and general mooch about, can't wait. Only two day week for me - yay!

Waves to girl, bubble and sunny - hope your all OK.

JJF - ((hug)) - so sorry you couldn't have your CVS. It must be an agonising for you. My fertility clinic is quite leading edge as it is owned by the university, so may do the transvaginal CVS - their webpage is here. Not sure if they do post-conception stuff but might be worth a call. I expect that one of the London hospitals would do it though.

Irish - sorry you got your BFN and to hear about your cat . Get some aftersun on that burn.

Sif - Yes there is indeed a thread on the pregnancy boards for people getting weird readings on the Clearblue Conception Indicator, which just goes to show how unreliable they are. Hope the ms has stayed away, well maybe just a bit of nausea to let you feel reassured .

I got my 3+ today - at last, so can now stop testing. I have loads of FR tests in the house (currently BOGOF in Superdrug) and another pair of CB digi's in the post, which are staying firmly in the packet unless I get signs of mc - first time I mc'd didn't have a test in the house to put me out of my agonising wait, so determined to have some for this pregnancy, though obviously hoping they won't be needed.

Hi everyone else.

wasabipeanut · 25/05/2009 11:56

Oh Jelly I am so sorry you are going through this. It must feel like torture. I hope you manage to find a hospital that does the tv scan.

Sif jesus you have been through it. It must be so miserable feeling so rubbish but yet panicking when you don't. I distinctly remember feeling like that in the early days with ds although it took me until about 9 week to physically start puking. Just those lovely dry wretches till then. At least you can share with your sis now!

Irish sorry to hear about your BFN and your sunburn! I too have been caught out on several occasions while slathering ds in factor 30. I am being more careful this year as some fine lines are starting to appear!

Well, I have a bit of news. DH's swimmers must have paid attention and put in the hours at the gym because I got a BFP this morning. I am 4 weeks today! Yikes.

I had a pretty strong feeling as my temps had been high and moved up even higher 10 days after ovulation and I normally only have a 12 day luteal phase. Couldn't test though as was at the in laws in Norfolk! Came up with all sorts of crap excuses not to have a drink - not sure they bought it but they would be too scared to ask outright so it doesn't really matter.

I am so happy. It already feels different to last time. No nausea yet but massive tiredness - I feel like I've taken a sedative half the time. Plus my boobs have been quite painful. Last time was completely symptomless, it was strange. I just hope my instincts are right.

Hoep everyone is enjoying their bank holiday (apart from those in Scotland - sorry)

JumpingJellyfish · 25/05/2009 11:11

Sorry just a quick post- Irish so sorry it was BFN but really hoping somehow AF still stays away.
Issy hope you are ok, it's so hard not to worry, especially with everything you are going through. Hope time flies until your scan.

Bad news here- on Thurs the CVS consultant found my placenta to be completely inaccessible- it is to my back so he'd have to go through my womb, i.e. possibly baby, to get to it. It was worse than it had been on Monday. They don't do transvaginal CVS here (which would be the only safe way to access it) So he wants to wait another week and I'm to go back on Friday But he's not overly optimistic that the placenta will have moved. If it hasn't my only option is to find a hospital in England where they'll do it transvaginally and try that early next week. The only kind of good news is that he dated me as just over 11 weeks, not 12 weeks, on Thurs, so we still have a couple of weeks to get this done. The rollercoaster is killing me and I'm now trying to forget all about it, but it's so hard, and the thought of having to try to juggle childcare without letting my MIL know if I have to go to England next week is really getting to me- I've weaved such a web of lies so far with all these apts.

Anyhow am meant to be PhDing today so better get to it, and try to forget about all else

irishmumwannabe · 25/05/2009 09:51

Hi All

really quick post -

Sif well done on finding your cure - hope it worked. Hope you get a scan asap.
Issy I second what sif says - POAS is only going to drive you mad.

I PIAP today and tested - BFP Ah well AF now just needs to come and I will be fine. Hols in 2 weeks [woohoo]

Got sunburnt yesterday at my nieces party - spent the whole afternoon putting suncream on 5 year olds and didn't even think about me. Have a lovely stripe across my face on my nose and cheeks. It's very becoming.

Also on a note, my favourite cat (I know I shouldn't have faourites) got knocked down last night so DH is bringing him to the vets today to dispose of him.

Anyway enough of me - hope everyone else is ok I'm figuring the lack of posts was because of the lovely weather over the weekend - hope you are all lapping it up. We have a bank holiday next Monday so fingers crossed it keeps up until a week today at least.
Sunny and Gilr hope you've had a lovely weekend -

JJF hope the wait isn't too long,
Bubble how are you?
wasabi how's the 2ww coming along? Blue, Head hope MS isn't too bad for you,

Right for a short post that was pretty long - talk to you all later.
hello to everyone,

sifuentes · 24/05/2009 21:32

jeez - Ilet the typing slip again pretty quick. will sort that out. and will stop monopolising this thread like a weirdo saddo loser!

sifuentes · 24/05/2009 21:30

Sorry - aslo still chuckling about the air vents in the bag blue i nearly got caught out by that too. If you just yak straight onto the pavement at least you don't have to smell it again after! You poor thing

My Dsis guessed today. When she asks me a direct question I can't lie to her without gettting the giggles.

sifuentes · 24/05/2009 21:26

Hi issy really pleased you're not feeling too worried. IT's so tricky to know where to put yourself. I think I'm thinking (cos I'm not sure really) that if I don't worry now or keep reminding myself that it probably won't be a sticky one then I'll be more upset when ia am given bad news. But then I also think what's the point in that cos ti is what it is. I'm finding hard to just settle. Supposed that's normal though.

Re the sickness, It was true that food helped til wednesday from which point on it all started to come straight back up again. I think it is true that tiredness makes it worse though. if only i could jack in my stupid job.

So pleased your friend is home with her LO. That's a big moment.

Can't believe you have a clearblue club thread!!!! that made me

Right. Well it's bed time for me! I have my glass of water with loads of lemon juice in it and enough food in my tum that I hopefully will have another night without a 3am yak or dry heave. nice. might even try to chuck down a 50mg b6 just for the hell of it!

27 degrees in London tomorrow. Gotta love a bank holiday...ooooops sorry blue!!!

Issy42 · 24/05/2009 19:42

Hi sif - thanks for answering. My boobs are still really sore as soon as they're out of a bra so I'm not too worried, but would be nice to see the 3+. Feeling like the dunce of the class because there is a thread about them and I'm the only one still on 2-3 now. I'm glad you managed to get some food down you this weekend and I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Ms is worse on an empty stomach, so I think once you break the cycle and start to eat you feel so much better - just make sure you have something every 2 hours. I recommend ginger oatcakes. Understand why you are so worried though. My pg book tells me that once you get to 6 weeks, mc rate goes down to 15% and I'll take 85% chance of everything being OK over the up to 50% of pregnanies mc anyday.

Spoke to my friend today. She finally came home with baby yesterday - am so relieved that everything was OK in the end. Need to send her present and card now, didn't dare when he was in intensive care just in case. She tells me birth is as painful as expected but nothing to be frightened of.

I can feel the nausea coming back, so best get cooking. Hope you're all enjoying this lovely weather.

OP posts:
sifuentes · 24/05/2009 17:45

Hi everyone - just a quick one from me but couldn't let Issy go unanswered. So sorry that you are worrying. If it's any consolation poas is not a reliable indicator of how pregnant you are, not even clearblue conception thingies - it's always only a very rough guesstimate. So put those sticks away!! It is a worry though isn't it. I turned 6w yesterday and the panic has started to creep in. I have been fortunate enough to have been under the constant care of my lovely mum since thursday when i couldn't even sit upright or swallow water very easily (DP is away and not nearly such a good nurse). I'm feeling fine today (have done absolutely nothing at all since weds) but now that I do feel fine, and ate a good lunch which is a first in a week, I am obviously panicking that that can only mean one thing! So now I am kind of hoping to feel sick again? how messed up is that? Bad MS is about the horriblest thing I have ever had. Every night apart from last I have woken up either to vomit or to eat something to quell the overhelming nausea. Not last night. Hmmm. Please tell me it's just because I am rested

Oh dear, knicker checking and boob prodding have started in earnest. Might have to go and see someone sooner rather than later. It's just that the last one measured 6wsomething when i was scanned for the mc at 11w and I know that 6-8 is the make or break time. Some people say that they just 'know' when it's a goer but I really don't have any such intuition. Just got to wait it out innit. issy i think i will aim for a scan that week too. 3rd is only a week away now isn't it? That will fly by.

Hope everyone else has been enjoying this incredible weather. More importantly, I hope that everyone else is feeling as chilled as possible, whether they're on the 2ww or the 12ww.

irish thanks for the get well soon wishes. They worked!

Sorry for writing a me me me post AGAIN. Will hopefully be less self obsessed this week

Issy42 · 22/05/2009 18:24

Hello everyone - sorry haven't been on much this week - a mixture of tiredness and trying to take my mind off pg things.
Sorry AF got you Sunny, but glad that your cycles are returning to normal. I have a supply of ginger oatcakes and they do work wonders - not sure how much is the burning mouth from the ginger distracting me, but if it works, it works . I consider myself to be 5w5d but my clinic dates from ET not EC so they would say 5w - doesn't make sense to me as sperm met egg on day of EC.
Bubble - Great that you can talk to your mum (and get hugs). Enjoy Cyprus. My scan is on 3rd June, which seems like forever.
Head - Hope you're enjoying your time off work, what is it that you do? So pleased that your scan was good news. My pg book says risk of mc is 3% after seeing hb on 8-week scan but I've also heard 5-10% quoted before (and the employment law section of my pg book is total b*lls, so I don't trust it entirely). I know what you mean about being detached. I thought I'd feel better once I got to 5w and passed previous mc date but I'm definitely not connecting in the same way as the first time and I'm sure it's terror of mc. Hoping the scan will help.
JJF - Fingers crossed that you have good news for us when you're next online to post. Thinking of you.
Blue - So sorry you've been having such a hard time, but glad that the hypnotherapy seems to be working as you sound much more chilled in recent posts and great that you've had good scans. I used to avoid cracks in pavements too and those pesky magpies have been taunting me, since EC I've seen loads but only ever 1 at a time. They've even walked right up to my back door and walked towards me in the car park.
Wasabi - Good luck for the 2ww, sending a truckload of babydust your way and stopping off at everyone else's house enroute.
Irish - Glad your black mood disappeared and at your dh for being so lovely. Good luck when you test.
Girl - at your holiday post, really made me laugh.
Sif - Rant away about your boss. Sorry you're having such a hard time with the ms. I've found that sleeping with the window open, wearing a sleep bra (I think the boobs were so painful in the morning they were making me feel sick) and eating about every 2 hours has helped massively. Particularly eating fruit - grapes and clementines especially. Only trouble is I've helped reduce my symptoms so much I'm starting to panic that something's wrong, so you can't win. I've even taken to taking my sleep bra off for about 15 minutes just to check that the boobs still hurt without it .

I won't know if it's twins until 3rd, but I really don't think so. My hormone levels are climbing very slowly, I still only got a 2-3 on the clearblue this morning. Trying not to worry but held off deliberately to get the reassurance of a 3+. Mind you piap yesterday afternoon and it was almost clear and even this morning it didn't look very dark, so I really do think that I have very dilute wee - I threw away the sample 3 times this week because it didn't look strong enough. I've now decided that clearblue with conception indicator is the work of the devil and wish they'd never been launched. I get the pregnant word up within a minute, so hopefully everything's OK, it's just that nagging voice in your head that gets fed by every little thing to over analyse. Obviously very happy to be pg, but the worry of mc again is almost unbearable. Have dreamt it several times, so even pushing thoughts to the back of mind isn't working.

Sorry went on a bit there. Don't mean to complain. I know that for those of you still trying it must be awful hearing me whinging. Sending you all another truckload of babydust, so you too can join the worry train .

Have a lovely extended weekend everyone.

Sif - God you are going through the mill poor you. Hope you find something that helps with the MS - take care of yourself.

Blue sorry about yours too. It's mad that we all want to go through this isn't it? . I hope your friend gets better soon. Good to hear your hypnotherapy seems to be working as well.

Head, Issy, Jumping hope you are all looking after yourelves too

wasabi how're you finding the 2ww? I've asked DH to buy me a test as I've been sick the past 2 days andhave no other reason for it. But I have been here before. I'l keep you all updated - AF due on Monday.

girl, Sunny, Bubble hello and I hope you are all ok? HOw is the pain now Bubble?
