Please don't be offended if you're not named, you're still welcome, I just have a rubbish memory. I can see a couple of you on November thread but there's a whole load of people not there. Just wondering if you wanted a little thread to keep in touch?

Headfairy - just replied to you on grapefruit thread. So sorry about your sad news. Was hoping a new thread might provide you with support from old friends.

And Sunnydale, I know you're wary of new threads, so though you might also like the company of old friends.

Wishing and Bubble having your weird long cycles and missing whole month's threads, thought this might be one for you too.

So what do you say? I'll start a list just in case:

Issy, ttc#1, cycle 14, ucl 28ish, cd 23/10dpo, mc Mar08, cp Sep08, IVF in April.

Hello Wishing, nice to 'meet' you

Issy, you poor thing, sorry about your bruise and all the intrusive stuff, but lovely to have so many scans throughout - I've got my fingers seriously crossed for you.

Hello everyone else, I'm afraid I will now have to banish myself from this thread as I poas . Am now 3 days late, but BFN, very odd for me as am normally v v regular, so where is AF?? Anyway, I obviously can't be a proper member of this thread now as I'm completely obsessed about where is AF or a pos test - sorry. I'll return when I get some perspective

(looks under the rug for a small piece of perspective. Nope can't see any)

(hangs head and walks dejectedly off the thread)

Wishing · 22/02/2009 03:04

Hello everyone, sorry I started the thread and then pretty much abandoned you all. I find the thread moves so fast I struggle to keep up then don't post because I'm too far behind.

Welcome Sifuentes and Olivo .
Headfairy - your time in the park sounds lovely. Hope your flat sells quickly and you get one of those nice houses.
Bubble - hope you had a lovely night out with dh tonight.
Girlwithacurl - I'm afraid I don't know about antibiotics but isn't sperm affected by things 3 months down the line?
Twigettini - did you go somewhere nice?
JumpingJellyfish, Ilovebeingamummy and Gateau how are you?

I'm still doing the Cto5K and have to start the 3rd week tomorrow. Finding it quite hard but really need to be fitter for dancing so am perservering - also have to justify buying the treadmill! Might not be able to do the next dance exam though as is on 26th April and at the moment most likely day for egg collection is 25th - though I'll have more of an idea nearer the time. Had my antral follicle count scan last week but have to wait 7 working days for results. I've also signed up to be a research guinea pig. The clinic is doing a study into blood flow to the womb pre-pregnancy and whether this relates to fetal growth restriction. Means I have another scan this Wednesday and the following one, so harder to ignore my cycle (but since I'm not ttc conventionally not such an issue to me) and also harder to ignore the 2ww as will have a scan half way through. Also have to have lots of bloods and they bruised my arm really badly Monday - still hurts - so not looking forward to that. Up side is that, as well as the 7-week viability scan, I will have a scan every 4 weeks from week 12 to birth if the IVF works.

Anyway I thought a basic list might be helpful.

Hiyall......

Rip, I'm fine, thank you for thinking of me. I'm actually quite excited about the move, I'll probably be jaded and fed up about it in three or four months when our flat hasn't shifted!!

Bubble, I hope your date went well.

We had a lovely day today, spent hours in the park, ds ran around like a loon, fed the ducks, went down the slide about 400 times and generally had a fantastic time. He must have been famished when he got back, he completely finished his dinner for the first time since forever, and he tucked away an orange and a banana, and still had room for 14oz of milk at bedtime ! Bless him, he's now lying flat out snoring so loudly we can hear him from the living room (though we are in a flat so it's not like he's on a different floor, that would be mental if we could hear him from a floor below!)

I hope everyone else is well and enjoying our lovely burst of spring... puts one in mind for a bit of bding

xx

bubblebell1 · 21/02/2009 08:18

morning all!

how are you all today?

rip have you started reading that book? is it any good?

HF im really looking forward to tonight it will help relax us both im sure.

hi to everyone else.

RipMacWinkle · 21/02/2009 07:50

Morning all - sorry I've been away.

Have definitely being "not symptom spotting". However, did get a copy of a book out of hte library, rec'd by a friend. Called "taking control of your fertility" I think. Has anyone read it? Hopefully I'll be back in teh zone next month. DH was away this month I think over OV time so I reckon we missed the boat.

Really, really sorry to hear about your mc bubble. It's a horrible time. I found it much harder emotionally than physically. Have a good night out with your DH. Very unMN ((hugs)) for you.

Also sorry to hear about your "nippy fanjo" blue but it did make me

Are you ok headfairy, you sound as if you've got so much going on just now? I remember getting a really fab post from you when I was feeling very low and angry about ttc. I hope you're doing alright....

Big waves all round to everyone else! Happy weekend to you all.

HeadFairy · 21/02/2009 07:26

Sorry 'bout that, got sent home just after I posted that. I'm feeling good thanks, had quite a bit of time off the last couple of weeks. Spent most of it tidying up, trying to keep a house ready for viewings with a toddler around is a nightmare! I've found the easiest way is to take ds out for the entire day, poor love, on Thursday we were in the park for four hours! He was absolutely shattered when we got home, he loved it, but he was exhausted. He ate the biggest plate of pasta ever too, all that fresh air is good for his appetite

twiglettini · 20/02/2009 21:05

Ooh, Headfairy, sorry you are still at work on a Friday evening. Hope it goes quickly and you can mn the evening away!

How are you feeling?

HeadFairy · 20/02/2009 20:15

Great minds blue Just pretend they're not ttc vits but just boring old vitamin supplements alright

Good to have you back twiglett....

I'm still at work getting v bored waiting for the nod to go home

twiglettini · 20/02/2009 20:00

Hello All, been away for a couple of days, so no internet access. So sorry that it was a mc, Bubble, but agree with Headfairy, having my early mc at 6 weeks was so much easier than my 11+ week ones as I recovered really quickly, it was like a heavy period. If it is physically ok, then it is easier emotionally. Big hugs that you can pick yourself up and try to enjoy the lurve again this month Have a really lovely night out tomorrow together.

Sorry AF arrived, blue. Hello Sif, Headfairy, Girl and everyone else.

bluesatinsash · 20/02/2009 19:54

HF - that's exactly the vits I bought yesterday - spooky.

bubble - have a lovely meal out with your DH. Its hard sometime to remember you were lovers before you were parents...

'tis now wine o'clock so I'll be off to the couch with my vino - happy weekend everyone x

HeadFairy · 20/02/2009 18:11

That's really nice of your mum, have a lovely night out bubble, it's so nice to get out and forget all that crappy ttc lark. You'll be able to have a few drinks, get giggly with your dh and feel human again. I felt that I kind of disconnected with dh over the past few months, we went out to dinner a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely, we didn't talk about anything sensible, we planned holidays (that we can't afford) and had a laugh. It felt great.

bubblebell1 · 20/02/2009 17:37

Hi all

glad your all ok.

i was taking pregnacare conception but its expensive so im gonna go back to normal folic acid until i get 'lucky' again.

hf i am relieved that its been like this. i dont think i would of coped well if it had been a long and drawn out process.

tomorrow night my mum is going to babysit so DH and i can have a night out. it will be the first time we have been on our own in 8 months! sad eh. im hoping it will bring us closer together intime for the shag fest later in the month

HeadFairy · 20/02/2009 15:04

sorry to hear that blue.... I did chuckle at the nippy fanjo line too.

Talking of vitamins, do you know what I do when I'm being really blase about ttc? I sometimes don't take my folic acid Talk about tempting fate eh? Actually not tempting it that much as I haven't got pg whenever I've done that

When I saw my GP last time I was pg (only about 5 weeks ago, weird to think I was pg 5 weeks ago) she told me it was important to take a vitamin supplement that had folic acid and vit D as they are apparently advising pregnant women to take some vit D every day as we don't get enough any more... Boots were doing 3 for 2 on these... I don't forget any more as I'm pretending they're just a normal supplement, nothing to do with ttc!

sifuentes · 20/02/2009 14:38

ROFL at 'nippy fango'

but sorry your AF seems to be coming. get those vits in you girl.xx

bluesatinsash · 20/02/2009 13:27

No need sif - think old AF is on her way as I have my usual 'nippy fango' feeling which always signals her arrival. So the box of tampons won this month but I will start taking the mum-to-be vits now(was taking general ones which had same level of folic acid).

You know my DH may just get his way, he was on 3 weeks paternity leave for the last World Cup (DS and me came home on the opening day in 2006) and low there's another one next year... If you told me then I may have to wait 4 years to have another lo - but life likes to through us some curve balls eh...

Hope all well and HF - enjoy your protein!

sifuentes · 20/02/2009 12:26

blue how is your non symptom spotting going??

HeadFairy · 20/02/2009 12:18

Thanks for that sif, I'm off to get some protein

Enjoy your acupuncturist. I've only ever had it for my back, didn't really do anything for me, but was surprisingly pain free. Those little needles are so tiny!

I have saved loads of properties on rightmove now, there's about 5 in the catchment area for a primary school that's got an outstanding for it's last ofsted report so we're off to look at those next weekend I think. They're really nice houses too...

sifuentes · 20/02/2009 11:44

head If you're hungry eat protein! seriously - the naturopath i saw said if you eat 3 meals a day plus two protein snacks in between meals (hummous/nuts/yoghurt/cheese/egg) your sweet cravings will go down loads because your blood sugar won't drop. I have found it to be true!

I am going to the acupunturist this afternoon. bliss. i just love it.

And I love going on rightmove. it's so addictive! Enjoy!

HeadFairy · 20/02/2009 11:09

Morning all....

Bubble, it sounds a little odd to say this, but I'm glad it's all over with the minimum of fuss. Sorry if that sounds flippant, but I found it much easier to deal with. And of course, once your hCG levels are back to normal, they no longer suppress your normal cycle, so the quicker you can get back to ttc if that's what you want to do. I hope you're feeling ok about all of this. You sound very strong and together.

Girlwithacurl... I'm not sure about the antibiotics, I know if women take them in early pregnancy they can make their babies teeth yellow. I have quite yellow teeth (hmm that makes me sound soooo attractive ok they're a teeeeny bit yellow) because my mum was taking tetracycline when she got pg with me. Not sure about the affect on men. Probably best to ask a GP or the pharmacist.

I totally agree with the whole "don't even bother trying to conceive at a particular time" line of thought. I really wanted my first baby before I was 36.... actually had him when I was 37, really want to have my next one before I'm 40 but who knows??? I did also get a bit excited when I got pg at Christmas (stupid I know, never count your chickens... etc etc) because I thought ds and dc2 would have birthdays in the same week. DS is probably secretly grateful he doesn't have to share his birthday limelight with a brother or sister (not that he knows there was a chance of that, he's only 17 months )

Well, I'm feeling in a very Thank Crunchie It's Friday kind of mood. Despite being blooming hungry cos I'm on yet another diet, I'm feeling v positive. We've had another viewing on our house this morning (cue dh and I frantically dashing around in our dressing gowns tidying up) and I can't wait to buy a new house. I'm off to browse Right move.... have a lovely day everyone x

sifuentes · 20/02/2009 10:32

Hi everybody

girlwithacurl i can't see why it will affect his swimmers and certainly have never read anything (and actually I think I have read everything!) to suggest that it will. I hope he gets better soon though.

Found out about ANOTHER friend who is due this summer last night. I think everyone has been sitting out a sort of grace period post MC before informing me! Actually apart from a twinge of jealously I'm kind of over it all now. Like blue and girl say at this point just getting pregnant sometime soon with a healthy and sprouting bean will be fine.

Absolutely no good can come from comparing yourself to others, from comparing your ages, to fixating on the time of year, or the ideal age gaps between siblings. I am slowly realising that it just happens when it happens regardless of our plans. All we can do is try to make lurve on certain days in the month, and in my case remember to tend to the topiary from time to time

bubble I hope you're feeling ok today.

girlwithacurl · 20/02/2009 09:29

Hi everyone!
bubble sorry you had to go through this, but glad that, under the circumstances, it was the best it could have been.

Sif i echo what blue says. I thought I wanted a spring baby, but after trying for nearly a year now I will just take what I am given and be grateful!

poor DP is still under the weather, now on two types of antibiotics. Does anyone know if this will affect his swimmers? he had better be back to match fitness by CD26 (not that I am counting though of course )

bubblebell1 · 20/02/2009 08:56

Hi all,

how is everyone?

blood test results came back yesterday and my hcg level is back to a non pregnant level so i guess its all over. dr said i dont need medical intervention and that nature has taken its course. which i am pleased about.

hope your all ok.
