Please don't be offended if you're not named, you're still welcome, I just have a rubbish memory. I can see a couple of you on November thread but there's a whole load of people not there. Just wondering if you wanted a little thread to keep in touch?

Headfairy - just replied to you on grapefruit thread. So sorry about your sad news. Was hoping a new thread might provide you with support from old friends.

And Sunnydale, I know you're wary of new threads, so though you might also like the company of old friends.

Wishing and Bubble having your weird long cycles and missing whole month's threads, thought this might be one for you too.

So what do you say? I'll start a list just in case:

Issy, ttc#1, cycle 14, ucl 28ish, cd 23/10dpo, mc Mar08, cp Sep08, IVF in April.

When I was pg with ds I tested at about 20dpo and I got a mega strong line the second the pee hit the stick, however far along you are it's a good sign when that happens, lots of lovely hCG surging through your....erm... pee

If I was you.... I'd be tempted to hop along to the nearest EPU in a couple of weeks and get a dating scan (or get your gp to set one up for you) Not only do you get to see your bean a bit earlier, but you'll be sure of your dates then. If you're unsure of your dates it's totally justifiable in my book to have an early scan.

Bubblebell1 · 16/03/2009 16:31

o wow Wishing im soooo pleased. thats brilliant news.. sending sticky thoughts your way

i hope this is the first of many

Wishing · 16/03/2009 16:26

thank you ladies, i hope its a sticky healthy one to this time jumpingjelly fish!

i did ov late head fairy, im thinking about going to get one of those clear blue digital ones!

i can think straight xxxxxxxxx

JumpingJellyfish · 16/03/2009 16:22

ps. If you buy one of those clearblue digital tests they will tell you when you conceived (1-2 wks, 2-3 wks etc.) which might help you work out how far on you are- sounds like your HcG levels must be pretty high though if the result showed clearly straightaway so I'm guessing you're 6wks already! yey!!

Pps. I too get strong cramps for first 8-9 weeks of pregnancy, hard not to worry when they're pretty painful, but 'tis all good!

JumpingJellyfish · 16/03/2009 16:20

wow wishing CONGRATS!!!! That is just fantastic news, especially after the rollercoaster you've been through. Will keep everything crossed for your pregnancy- may it be a long, happy & healthy one!! Well done petal!! xxx

SuziBhoy · 16/03/2009 16:19

OMG congrats wishing so happy for you

i am nearly giving in to the tests calling me from my bathromm cabinet aarrghh!! this is soo frustrating!!

HeadFairy · 16/03/2009 16:18

Did you ov late? for me 11dpo would be cd 26/27 and I'd be 4w from LMP, but if you have longer cycles and it's 6w from LMP then you must be 6 weeks gone. It's always nice to find out later too, because that Godawful wait to the 12 week scan is shorter. Now you've only got 6 weeks to wait, which is infinitely better than 8 weeks

Wishing · 16/03/2009 16:16

thank you girlies thank you soooooooo much, i dont beleive it still im in shock! i cnt work out how far on i must be cant be a lot can i , 6 weeks today since lmp!

im sending you all baby dust and have everything crossed! xxxxx

HeadFairy · 16/03/2009 16:10

dur! Ok ignore me, I'm only about 8dpo. Just getting swept along in all the excitement

bluesatinsash · 16/03/2009 16:09

CONGRATS wishing!!!! OK who's next? Let's hope our 'convent' vibe moves from AF in sync to BFP's in sync -I have a good feeling about this .

HeadFairy · 16/03/2009 16:09

OMG!!!! That's fantastic! Our first bfp, how brilliant. Congratulations

Now I'm starting to get naughty symptom spotting thoughts because I've had quite strong af type pains all day and I'm 11dpo too

Wishing, I'm so happy for you xxxx

Wishing · 16/03/2009 15:56

ladies im so weak i tested and in dont quite believe it! its a bfp!! im actaully in shock - it just came straight up two lines!! omg!! dh is in shock! we both feel sick im so surprised!

Af due this week for me, and im trying not to get excited but i have just had some spotting and lots of cramps! really painful in fact!!! is it just wishful thinking - i shud of ov 11 days ago!?! xx

HeadFairy · 16/03/2009 14:58

jumping I'm sure our volvo is going to be as bad as yours soon too. Dh and I are notoriously messy in cars (strangely not at home, maybe we get the messyness out of our system in the car)

I hope this month is your month... You do hear so many people saying they got pg the first month they stopped trying so maybe... I practically fell off my chair when I found out I was pg after Christmas as we only bd'd once and I was so ill I really didn't think it would happen.

Sif I noticed your other thread has a couple of posts on... I bet you're itching to get on there and post, but don't want to jinx it Shall I go on and kill it for you??

blue dammit, you've out-volvoed me, and I don't have any Joules wellies!! I've got some serious catching up on this middle age youth lark Our excuse in not getting the V70 was that dh can't park hahahahahahaha! That's what happens when you live the pampered life of apartments with allocated parking spaces. Having always lived in London I'm an expert parallel parker... I can get a lorry in to a space no bigger than a pushchair (without too much any damage to other cars )

JumpingJellyfish · 16/03/2009 14:50

sorry sif was slowly typing my post while you posted to missed yours! Think trying the OPKs is a good plan, especially if your cycle's pretty regular. I think next month after I get the test results through we'll be doing the same as you. I wish I knew what day I conceived DS & DD but wasn't cycle watching at all then so have no idea. I have a feeling it was quite early in the cycle but can't be sure. Good luck for this one!

JumpingJellyfish · 16/03/2009 14:44

Good afternoon ladies!

So sorry AF caught you girl & bubble Issy hope you are feeling ok after the 15th, it must be so hard- but it's great that you can now focus on this cycle and all the hope it offers starting IVF. Hope your body responds well to the drugs, and you will love the Lakes- we've only been once (nearly 2 years ago) but pass through often en route from Norn Iron to my folks in southernmost England (we usually take the ferry via Stranraer, so drive right through the eastern edge of the Lakes). It is so stunningly beautiful, and even better when not in the height of tourist season I think!

Like you I seem to only manage posting about once a week at the moment, so sorry if I haven't caught up with you all properly.

bluesatinsash- thanks for the comments re. my DCs, I too think they're adorably cute, but I am naturally very biased!!

Head- the volvo is meant to be fab! We too have an estate car (Vauxhall Vectra, it's bloomin enormous and feels like driving a bus imo!), for the legit(ish) reason of having 2 DCs, a dog and we seem to half live out of our car- it's full of so much crap it's quite embarrassing! We very much abuse it though, and constantly say that this weekend we'll clean it out... I do love it though...We're now moving properly into the sticks (we live in a small town at the mo) so no doubt it'll get even more abuse...

I'm feeling a bit nervous about my GP apt on Thurs, in a way I hope the blood tests show something, just as that'll mean we can maybe have a way of making things "right" again, but on the other hand just have a lot on our plates right now so don't want to add another thing to the list I honestly think my cycles are probably up the creek due to tiredness- still writing the thesis, have big deadline for work this week & DD was poorly yet again last week meaning I missed more work, and she's still waking 4 times a night Perhaps my body sensibly has just stopped ov'ing for a while til things calm down? Does that happen?

Thankfully the thrush cleared up quickly just with the cream- I also started taking yakult again which I think helps. Hoping it doesn't affect TTC.

Anyway better get back to work

Lots of baby dust to you all- for those starting new cycles hoping this is the lucky one, and will keep fingers crossed for all of you on the 2ww!

(Ps. very, very foolishly/naughtily DH wants us to keep TTC this month in spite of the GPs suggestion of holding off til all tests come back, as I'm honestly not cycle watching etc. and haven't touched the OPKs he thinks it's unlikely i'll fall pregnant, as haven't managed it so far for 9 cycles... Maybe we're mad but I know of quite a few who've got their BFP while undergoing tests so hoping somehow the fact we're not expecting to fall pregnant might help us?!)

sifuentes · 16/03/2009 14:43

*head i cracked and posted.

I have now 6 killed threads to my name...

such a loser...

sifuentes · 16/03/2009 14:38

Thanks for posting on my other thread head i am intentionally not posting on it to reveal my nonchalance. je ne suis pas bovvered.

I too get excited about thinking about new things. I have noticed since ttc we have taken a turn for the ruder, but my GOD, nothing like what some other MN'ers get up to! mind you, what they advocate can't get you pregnant which is probably one of the reasons why it doesn't feature here

girl sorry about AF I hope your next positive opk comes soon.

bubble i will buy some sticks and then just go for it at least every other day over the allotted period (i.e. from first signs of EWCM - have bought grapefruit juice). last time i got preg i bd'ed the morning of day 12 - which was about 2 days before ovulation so feeling that that is my lucky time, for stage 1 at least. And that would be before a positive on a stick. I want to do the sticks though so that at least I can work out if and when ov happens this time.

Deanna seems a bit much like hard work at this point. But who knows...

blue loving the wellies and the volvo. it's just the beginning, you do realise that don't you!

bluesatinsash · 16/03/2009 12:51

Afternoon all,

Boo hiss, TEW caught you girl and bubble, she's proably now en route to me (AF due next Mon) - harrumph. I've been v. irritable today but that could be due to pmt/new email system at work/general Monday grumpiness!

Great to hear everyone had a fab weekend, we do like to keep ourselves busy!

Head - I nearly spat out my soup when I read you've bought a Volvo as DH is replacing his Ford Focus with a V70 (gun metal grey no less ). I'm full of "but we only have one child and no pets" but he is being positive (that we WILL have two one day...) and we are planning on holidaying in UK for next few years so it does make sense. I already have the 'Joules' wellies so can kid on that I'm a 'Volvo' type . Ah middle age youth - it comes to us all!

Here's to a good week and maybe even a (whisper) BFP or two....

HeadFairy · 16/03/2009 11:53

Hiya bubble, I don't really know what the norm is, if there is even one. After my two mcs I've had a very odd ov, very painful, the pain has lasted three or four days, and then a slightly early af, giving me a 26/27 day cycle. I think that first ov for me is kind of a test run, I don't think I can get pg that cycle, hence short cycle. Maybe something similar is happening to you.

Sorry af got you girl, I'm a bit scared of you and bubble as you're the alpha girls I've always been a bit beta

Sif sounds like you had an amazing weekend, lucky you!! My dh is the same, he does get a bit male about the whole ttc thing, he doesn't quite beat his chest, but he's not far off I think. Although of course all of us would rather be pg now, I get quite excited as af finishes, trying to work out ways to make our ttc efforts more exciting. We've not quite resorted to handcuffs and tickle sticks yet though

girlwithacurl · 16/03/2009 11:50

thanks bubble an xmas baby would be lovely, but I fear with my long cycle I will skip December all together...

Bubblebell1 · 16/03/2009 11:45

head your right... my cycles have become more regular. they have got shorter each month even with last months mc.

is it normal to have such a short cycle after a mc? do u think i didnt ov if period has come so early? i have always been a 30 day cycle girl?? im def not complaining. as sif said i get more chances over the year

sif are you going to temp or use opks this month or try the deanna plan? find it helps me feel in control. i lasted a whole 2 weeks without obsessing but i think this time im going back to dp and opks

Sorry AF got you aswell girl. heres to this month. and a beautiful xmas baby

sifuentes · 16/03/2009 10:07

Hi everyone
Lovely to hear you all in such good spirits.

Well, I am nearing the end of my visit from AF and getting excited again about next week's attempts. DP is getting well into it himself and wants to know exactly which days were THE days so that he can make sure that he doesn't have anything else on. Male pride can be quite useful sometimes. I think he thinks being focussed will get me pregnant. Hopefully he is right

We had a gorgeous day in Brighton and a lovely loved up time in general so the sun is definitely shining over here. [bleurghh boak hurl emoticon]

head so funny about your estate car. I guess it happens to the best of us. I hope the 1ww doesn't drive you mental. You sound like you're staying strong. Oh and I am very pleased that my hysterical, whining posts hadn't scared you off.

blue your weekend sounds absolutely lovely too. proper sex can be such a relief, can't it. I really hope that the implantation acupuncture was a success.

bubble the good thing about shorter cycles is less time til the next window so at least you probably only have to wait another 10 days or something? I have thoroughly enjoyed copious amounts of stinky, runny, and blue cheese And wine and beer and the rest of it

girl Hope you are ok?

Issy sorry about the sad anniversary. Can't your ex stay with you one time so that HE can do the walk of shame?! good luck with the drugs and egg stuff. It's all tricky but I imagine good to feel that you actually doing stuff and getting closer to the actual treatment. And thanks for the temping tips. Think I might try the sticks first and then if that doesn't work through everything at it next time.

Hi suzi and irish hope you're ok too.

I really want to see some BFPs coming in this week! Fingers crossed for everybody xxx

girlwithacurl · 16/03/2009 10:03

Hi everyone, what a lovely weekend it was, sounds like everyone made the most of the nice weather and seems cheerier!
Well AF got me as well this morning, so looks like bubble and I are the alpha females of the group! Temp dropped yesterday so knew it was coming, DP was lovely and we have decided to go to the dr now as its been a year since we started trying, and 6 months since the mc. DP is really worried its him, and I am really worried its me, but feel like we are really pulling together on this.

izzy good luck with everything, a week in the lakes sounds wonderful, just what the dr ordered!
