so am home now - went to loo and the teeniest of teeniest amount of spotting (without rummaging!) but feels physically like I have started period so probably have. Today is 14dpo but usually start spotting 10/11dpo or before so technically period is not late I guess, just usually it is early. Anyway I did test (both internet and clear blue) and not a bean (or a line) on them - in fact even if I hold up to the light and squint there's not even an evaporation line that I can pretend is a real line.

Come on not come up. Will I ever get used to this predictive text?

OP posts:
yellowflowers · 03/04/2009 15:21

Just got it. You are in de-Nile!

I am full of hope for you however.

I am writing this at the busstop from my blackberry. I feel like I have come up but obviously can't check here! Temp still above cover line today but didn't pee in pot as trying to leave it. Do have clear blue early test in my bag though so if no bleeding when I get home will use. And if no bleeding then no rummaging I promise. But am sure I've come on...

I will wait and see if someone else gets it... do you know the name of any rivers in egypt tho? I only know one... I think I have become slightly hysterical - so apologies

Joolsiam · 03/04/2009 14:28

Glad you are feeling better Wasabi

Iggy - I don't understand the egyptian river thing, but then again I AM very slow on the uptake !!

iggypiggy · 03/04/2009 13:48

wasabi am actually ok (although is the old egyptian river thang i think - sorry am in silly mood, please let someone understand that!)

The virual choc is going down nicely with the packet of mini eggs i just polished off..

Desperate for Tues whilst also dreading it...

Glad you feeling bit better!

wasabipeanut · 03/04/2009 13:31

Sorry Broodzilla but I just snorted some of my lunch because I was sniggering at your ho/hon type. Very funny. I did the same myself last week on MN somewhere - used the communting instead of commuting. To be fair, communting really does sum it up nicely. Hope you aren't feeling too queasy. I know it can be a rought time.

Iggy how are you today my lovely? I hope all that virtual choc has been going down well. We are fervently hoping that the spotting stopping is a good sign. I hope the weekend goes quickly for you.

Yellow - if you are pg then rummaging will knock your cervix which can quite possibly make it bleed (I type as someone who bled on and off through her entire 2nd trimester of pregnancy with ds - even doing pelvic floors could trigger a bleed). It isn't a reliable indicator so please try and stop in case you hurt yourself. As for pg tests I get what you say about the starkness of digital tests but I bet any money that if you get a BFP with a clearblue + or - test or similar you will immediately go out and get a digital "just to make sure." The longer you wait the less ambiguous a result it will be but you know that don't you?

Well I'm feeling much better today thank god. Feel almost human again. Still got a bit of a sore throat but not a patch on last few days. Just in time for the weekend too. Hooray!

iggypiggy · 03/04/2009 10:54

broodzilla good spelling

No the other concern was that the heartbeat was too slow. The Dr had said that there was only a small chance it would be ok given size and heartbeat...

They have said I can go in before tues if bleeding gets bad - but if is only spotting to wait until Tues. xx

jools I have everything crossed for you this month xx

Broodzilla · 03/04/2009 10:37

broodzilla takes a deep breath and concentrates on her spellingiggy, that sounds good to me! Some people do bleed around the time AF would have paid a visit. Having said that, I think it's appalling that you have to wait til Tuesday - does your local hospital not have an Early Pregnancy Unit where you could go for an unscheduled scan?
Keep thinking about that heartbeat. That link jools had said that once a heartbeat has been seen the risk of a miscarriage is only 3-5%. And their only concern was that the bean was small, right? Everything else looked fine didn't it? (I'm an eternal optimist when it comes to other people...)

jools I think your unconscious might know something you don't

yellow any news?

I woke up this morning with hands that looked like sausages so I very reluctantly removed my darling seabands. I'm dreading the gagging starting up again.
I felt pretty rotten yesterday with the seabands, so can't really face being without them...

Joolsiam · 03/04/2009 09:55

Iggy that is strange, and at least give you a glimmer of hope .... I had a red bleed before bed on a Tuesday evening, was seeing more and more brown the next morning and it all kicked off at around 2pm that day - if you've gone that long without more, then who knows ......

I woke up this morning convinced I'd had an implantation bleed !!! I have a memory of going to the loo in the middle of the night and seeing blood when I wiped . Well, I know I did get up for a wee but really can't decide if I saw anything or I dreamed that bit ! Nothing this morning so I'll assume it was a dream and hope it was a prophesy

iggypiggy · 03/04/2009 09:12

broodzilla called me a ho

I have no news at all.... No more spotting - nothing... Guess am going to have to wait till tues for scan and see what has happened. Incidentally - yesterday was exactly 8 weeks (so when AF would have been due). But that is me clinging to small amounts of hope.. I think is all over - just need scan to confirm.

Joolsiam · 02/04/2009 20:32

Still thinking of you Iggy ...

Broodzilla I need no encouragement to symptom spot Still have creamy CM, amd windy , my hair has gone all ratty and horrible (which happened last time) and my abdomen feels - well just strange really - as if something is "different"

probably the ramblings of a mad woman, but keeping fingers crossed is good

Yellow - am hoping your spotting is implantation

yellowflowers · 02/04/2009 19:13

You are right broodzilla!
Still think it's over though.
LOL at ho/hon error.

OP posts:
Broodzilla · 02/04/2009 18:27

OMG, iggy that's supposed to say HON.
What the hell??? My attention span is shite these days... I can't even spell a three letter word.

Broodzilla · 02/04/2009 18:25

iggy ho, I hope you're all wrapped up on the sofa eating a big tub of ice cream right now.

jools no slaps forthcoming, can't slap you as my fingers crossed! that's a good, good sign.

yellow I'll say it - STOP RUMMAGING!!! you'll end up hurting yourself!!

Now, I'm off to have some fish pie.
Wasabi, hope you're feeling better!

yellowflowers · 02/04/2009 17:56

Bugger, slight bright red spotting when went to loo (after a rummage). Shit shit shit.

OP posts:
queenie1 · 02/04/2009 16:32

yellow - try and wait out as long as possible...sometimes it takes a while before a BFP is ready to appear and the longer you wait, if you are PG, the darker the line will be which is always v satisfying. Also, if AF does come you haven't wasted x amount of pounds on a test and can buy a few drinks, go to cinema etc instead!! Like you, I hate the digital ones. I like clear blue's plus/minus ones. Fingers crossed the witch stays away....

xxx

yellowflowers · 02/04/2009 16:00

Thanks jools - I hate the digital tests and the starkness of the way they say not pregnant - I prefer waiting for a line to develop, even if it is never there, because it is meant to develop the lack of line is less sudden that the actual words on the digital.

DH very sensibly said I should wait until Monday if no af. As if...

To cover all bases I have also booked my fertility appt at hospital - 9.15am on May 12th. Eeeek - that is soon.

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 02/04/2009 15:43

I'd personally go for a Clearblue digi - the only one I really trust !

I know First Response have a good reputation, but having had so many BFN's with them, they are a bad omen for me !!

yellowflowers · 02/04/2009 15:32

soooo - if no af by tomorrow (oh please let that be the case...) it'll be 14dpo - what test do you recommend I buy?

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 02/04/2009 14:40

Iggy - am sending you over a truckload of Belgain chocs - treat them as medecine and take as many as you can.

I have more creamy cm today Someone please administer a virtual slap - am only 5DPO !

iggypiggy · 02/04/2009 14:25

wasabi I just want it to be over soon if is going to happen - is the not knowing and the waiting that is driving me mad. Thanks for hugs.

wasabipeanut · 02/04/2009 13:27

Iggy - I'm so sorry to see that this has now happened. We are all thinking of you and sadly, many of us have been there and can empathise with what you're feeling. It's shite, there's no other word for it.

I think it would be a mistake to abandon all hope but having a get out plan for work probably isn't a bad idea if it all gets a bit much. I do understand the desire not to wallow though. .

Funtime and Ray - glad to see you're both checking in too. Glad you are both well.

Yellow - Pee in a Pot should be our new mantra! It isn't over yet lady.

Well I am feeling a bit better today although still can't talk properly due to swelling which for me is hell on earth!

On the upside yesterday when I was laying on the sofa feeling pathetic my first freelance commission came in which I said yes to despite it paying bugger all and me being ill - to do otherwise would be freelance suicide. I have just sent over my 1st piece of paid for copy as a freelancer - hooray!

iggypiggy · 02/04/2009 13:11

don't know what I would do without you lot xx

iggypiggy · 02/04/2009 13:11

don't cry for me ray - am doing enough of that for myself

a small part of me holds out hope that what you say is what is happening... but am being realistic - pretty much all of my symptoms have now gone, the Dr was worried - told me to not be surprised if I bled this week and that i would then know what was happening. I've been in touch with them and they say to go and see them straight away if the bleeding gets worse. Otherwise wait until Tues for the appointment.
