How funny funtime - I was thinking that we need some extras too, except I love out little gang as well.

My dh has temp of 38.72/101.70 and feels ill. Will post in appropriate place here for advice but does anyone know if that means I should call doctor or just make him drink liquids and put him to bed?

funtimewincies · 08/02/2009 19:29

It's very quiet on here at the moment. There have been so many BFPs we might have to advertise for new blood !

Still no positive on the OPKs so DH is being attacked every 5 mins just in case .

Joolsiam · 08/02/2009 17:32

Me too Yellowflowers - I even refuse to take lemsip or ibuprofen just in case

Broodzilla · 08/02/2009 14:03

Yellow you're not alone... I only thought about it last night when I discovered that a pair of jeans I haven't worn for a few weeks are getting a bit tight. Nevermind that I've just had AF, I actually thought "oooh, imagine if I was pregnant and I just didn't know..." Yeah. All the cakes I've been eating have NOTHING to do with ill fitting jeans...

Oh well, I've just ordered a new batch of OPKs and am sitting here sipping of GFJ. Started the Februari BD-fest yesterday; here's to hoping!

(passing tall glasses of GFJ spiked with babydust all around)

yellowflowers · 08/02/2009 10:56

Thanks funtime - lovely glass of wine!

Does anyone else on here fantasise about being one of those women who doesn't know they are pregnant and who carries on getting periods then one day you go to the loo and get urge to push? Ah, just me then...

funtimewincies · 06/02/2009 19:31

Blimey Becky, where did that time go?! (altough it probably seems an age to you ). Everything crossed for the 20 week scan.

I'm very lucky in that I have a gorgeous 2 year old monster ds . If you're 17ish weeks, then keep an eye out for movement, I first felt it at about 18/19 weeks. I'd felt a sort of 'windy' popping for a couple of days and then I was in an important meeting and got something so definite, I nearly shouted out !

iggypiggy · 06/02/2009 16:10

becky your post about wine made me smile

The only upside to the BFN on my birthday was the alcohol that night

I have managed a week of celebrations - with last weekend away with DH - then this weekend am seeing my family for more presents etc. all very nice

BeckyMcG · 06/02/2009 16:08

God.......I miss wine!! Of course I still have the odd SMALL glass with dinner when out but there's nothing like drinking bottle after bottle with the girls.........Or opening that 2nd bottle with DH on a Friday night and getting tipsy together - ahh......

BeckyMcG · 06/02/2009 16:03

Cindy - it will pass so quickly!!! Some moments I think it's all gone so slowly and some moments I think - god - nearly halfway there! I have found the trick so far is not to eat more than normal - just lots of lean meat and veg and salad. I mentioned to the doctor and they endorsed that this was a healthy diet. The beans only need 200-300 more calories a day than usual and as my doctor said, most of us eat 200-300 more than we NEED everyday anyway your eating habits don't need to change. In fact I lost 8lb in the first month of knowing which just goes to show what those 3 bottles of white wine a week were doing!!!
Happy Bday Iggy - doing anything nice?

C1NDY · 06/02/2009 12:51

Becky goush 20 weeks, if only I can close my eyes and be there now!! I am praying to get to the 8 week mark and then hopefully get an early scan, to know if we are still on to having a baby. Then I will relax a little until week 12 and then for the 20 week scan. Time will go quickly won't it?? I am overweight so everything is big ... boobs, belly... I am hoping that sensible eating will ensure that I don't put too much weight on - I will let you know if that worked. I have decided not to do any exercise until week 12 as I don't want anything to happen to the little bean - I know its okay to exercise, but just in case I over do it with the running.

BeckyMcG · 06/02/2009 12:29

hello ladies,
funtime is this your first baby? I can't remember. I agree with you about insensitive DH comments - I just think they don't properly get it.
Yellow sorry to hear it's over, I think the worrying is worse than just having a BFN and knowing where you are.
Cindy I don't blame you one little bit. I don't feel I can relax fully and don't think I will till I have a baby in my arms. I am looking forward to 20 week scan (3 weeks today) and then might chill out a bit more. I'm not really showing - maybe a little but finally my boobs have stopped growing, apparantly that's it until month 8 and then they'll grow again! God - I'm a 36E (have always been a 32C enhanced nicely with ultrabras - now I'm in some boulder holders!!
Agree that everyone seems happier in the snow

funtimewincies · 06/02/2009 11:02

Thanks yellow and sorry to hear that it's over . I saved you a glass of my wine last night (hands over a lovely big glass ).

Hi All,

Nothing to report... I am on the 12 week wait and have approached week 5 and 2 days. I keep grabbing my boobs to ensure they are hurting and feeling sore (I know, anyone who see's me must think I am a nutter!). I yawn to ensure that I am feeling tired - this is really torture!! I keep thinking... is it now I lose the little bean... I know its a dreadful thought but I guess I just wanted to type it to get it out of my mind. Postive thoughts.

You are all working towards your BFP and I am sitting here with no bd and just hoping the days will go quicker for me. I feel in limbo land right now... Okay rant over!!! someone hit me.

funtimewincies · 05/02/2009 19:23

Hi all, happy birthday iggy.

My best friend told me she's pregnant. I'm delighted (really !) but I'm annoyed at my dh. He rang to say that he'd arrived safely (he's away for a couple of days), so I told him the news, joking that I might need to open the last wine bottle in order to absorb it properly. His response was a rather shocked 'but you are happy for her, aren't you?', followed by a very brisk sounding 'that's alright then'. Not quite the support I was after, just a 'Ahh, I know it's difficult' would have done it . And he might miss ovulation !

And I am delighted, she's a fab mum and there cannot be enough of her gorgeous little ones in the world .

smileycat · 05/02/2009 16:09

I've updated the list as it seems to be an older one without my new due date

Wasabi glad that things seem to be getting back to normal for you, & my fingers are crossed that you will be one of the lucky ones that conceives straight after an mc

Hi broodzilla - how odd about temp. I wonder if you'll be able to detect it at lunchtime. I take mine when I go to bed too just out of interest and I don't keep a note of them but there is no correlation it seems between what it is at bedtime and what it will be next morning.

OP posts:
Broodzilla · 05/02/2009 12:34

Let's hope this is a lucky new thread!
Thanks for starting it Yellow!

I know the snow is causing chaos everywhere but it's oh so beautiful! I love how it lights up the world! (Also, apart from when scraping windows or showelling snow from cars, people generally seem much happier!)

Jools his palpitations could be due to stress... maybe he really is having a hard time coping with it all and that's his body's way of telling him to chill out?

Nothing to report over here, my temps are all over the place, yesterday morning I had an all time low of 35.2C(!). Fertility Friend has alerted me to the fact that my temperatures are unusually erratic... I do think it may be due to the fact that I've been working til the early hours though. I've been taking my temp again at lunchtime (not for temping purposes as much as for my own peace of mind) and they're far more stable around then... so, Fertility Friend can make do with my early morning temps, but I think I'll unofficially keep track of the lunchtime temps to see if I can detect OV in those.

DH is away at the moment, I'm hoping he'll be home for the weekend as the BD fest should be starting.

I've updated the list too...

Hi Jools - yes I never cease to be amazed at how much care varies. I have realised before that compared to a lot of others the maternity/gynae block at our hospital is pretty good.

Tbh, I was surprised they kept asking me to come back for weekly check ups but that's their policy. The staff are really good actually. With the exception of the time the blood tests results were delayed by 24 hours they have been great - very sensetive but also efficient. I thik it's one of the busiest maternity hospitals in the South (Royal Berks in Reading) so they do fairly well considering.

Joolsiam · 05/02/2009 11:08

Wasabi - I'm absolutely amazed how much care varies

When it happened to me, I went to A&E, got examined in gynae A&E and referred for scan in 2 days. Nurse in EPU confirmed 99% gone and did a urine test that she said was only a faint positive - and that was that ! I had a number to call if I was concerned, but no follow-ups whatsoever. When I called my GP, she was sympathetic but didn't feel the need to see me. It took 3 weeks after that to get a BFN ....

Glad it is pretty much all over for you though and you can move on

wasabipeanut · 05/02/2009 11:00

Hey lovely ladies,

Well, I wanted to share with you that I had my hospital appt yesterday and they didn't bother will blood test as got such a faint positive on the urine test that the doctor was convinced I have had a full mc and hormone levels almost back to zero. Was told to test again at home in a week and call them if it wasn't zero. Apparently the hospital tests are 10 miu so hopefully a home one will be negative. Will prob do one later on as am impatient.

I then had my 1st hypnotherapy session which was really great. She taught me this self hypnosis technique which enables you to relax at a really deep level. You wake up from it and feel all refreshed as if you've had a nap but without that grogginess you can get when you've dozed off. After just one session I felt generally more positive and less tightly wound. I have to practice everyday now till next session in 2 weeks.

Hope everyone has fun with the new snow falls!

iggypiggy · 05/02/2009 09:37

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone

Spookily I rang my mum in my lunch hour - and she said that it was the exact minute I was born - and she was the age I am now... well I thought it was spooky

Still no AF for me.. But last month it came on CD32 - so that would be tomorrow... am annoyed that cycle seems to have increased.

smiley I will take that as a good omen

yellowflowers · 05/02/2009 09:17

Hi cindy - I'd be too embarrassed to see gp given last time I went a few months ago with breasts that hurt for weeks and they did blood test at my insistence and not pregnant .

But feel back to normal now and temps doing roughly what they should do.

Hoping this cycle will be the one...
