Flintski and Kitty - sorry to hear you are out for this month. Flintski in answer to your question we have been ttc for 5 months - started in August and did manage to concieve late Nov/early Dec but had mmc Am now waiting for next period before starting again.

Funtime - I am so hoping your temp changes are a good sign. I think if there is such a thing as pregnancy karma you are totally due some. I can't wait to read when you have a BFP!

Agghhh got to go - ds is waking from his nap.

iggypiggy · 16/02/2009 15:12

Out of interest - at what stage would any of you say it was worth going to GP to start investigating why ttc is not happening for you?

I think I need to try a bit longer as really has only properly been 5 months for me - but I did also try for 3 months back at the end of 2007... so in my head that is 8 months of unsuccesful trying..

sorry is a BFN for you kittycatcat

also sorry AF arrived flintski

kittycatcat · 16/02/2009 13:54

hi all

BFN ah well i think i knew that would be the case.

Flintski is only my first month. I can only imagine how you must be feeling [hugs]

Hi flintski - I am in a grump today even though am at beginning of 2ww so should be hopeful.

I have not been using contraception for 19 months and I would have said for that time I was trying and dh was indifferent, but we've been properly trying and making sure we have sex on the right dates for 8 months.

Oooh, fingers crossed kittycat. Yellow - it won't be a very accurate reading as you've moved about, but I know that my resting temp. as well as my basal temp. is higher after ov. so there must be some relationship. See how it fits into the pattern of the days either side.

On the subject of temp. mine was a whopping 36.95 this morning. The only time it's gone this high before was when I conceived ds (and at that point twins ) BUT I've a hideous cold and had a really crap night's sleep so not getting too excited. No other symptoms really (no sore boobs or anything which I always have) so I think that it's the cold .

At least I know when I ov'd this month, so I won't have the 'when is AF going to arrive' nightmare this month.

yellowflowers · 16/02/2009 09:50

sounds possibly exciting kittycatcat.

I was taking temp this am when doorbell rang - postman delivering a parcel. Went back to bed and breathed in and out for 100 staying very still until I felt totally relaxed and then took temp - does it count do you think?

Hello all
jools i was getting really hopeful for you then, d@mn witch!
wasabi good to hear your bod is doing what it should be.
funtime what a nightmare you had. Grrr on your behalf.Am watching the space to hear what happens next for you
{waves at everyone]
So, had a nice weekend. Fri went for a meal then home for productive (at last) BD. Sat AF was due, and i really thought it was going to come as i had ov pain / cramps. But nothing, i have been really tired for about a week and a half now. I am normally up til about half 11 but am falling asleep about 10. Still no AF yesterday, and my boobs are sore (tmi?) which isnt something i usually suffer with AF. Sense of smell heightened too. Am still waiting for AF, still have cramps and slight nausea. This will be my first AF since i came off the pill so i reckon just side effects / body trying to adjust?

C1NDY · 16/02/2009 08:58

Whatfortea Yes, I used Preseed, you can buy it on amazon. Its was fabulous, I think it helped as I think I never had too much CM (sorry for the TMI!), I honestly believed it helped in keeping the blighters nourished... ..

flintski · 15/02/2009 20:52

evening all.

yellow, i haven't stopped drinking totally either - at the 6 month mark, i had a few months of barely drinking at all but as time goes on, i'm becoming a bit more blase again (not getting hammered every night obviously) but i did for example, have a cocktail for my mums birthday yesterday and am going to take a glass of red with me to the bath in a min.

i feel so pmtish that i'm pretty sure i'm out for this month anyway - even got dh to buy painkillers in preparation!

good luck iggy for the rest of the marathon , sounds promising funtime and sorry to hear about af jools but glad dh has been spoiling you.
broodzilla - hope the pains are implantation

hi to everyone else - not very good at keeping up - sorry. am wishing af would come so i can concentrate on enjoying half term.

iggypiggy · 15/02/2009 19:59

hello everyone am in middle of BD-a-thon (well not this minute obviously )

Yellow - I have not given up alcohol... I have cut down and am trying to be a bit more healthy by doing more exercise and eating better - which is good cos my BMI is now 24. But I can't give up everything.

DH gave up smoking two months ago and he has cut down on drinking too - so I reckon we made enough changes for now. Can always re-assess in a few months if still no luck

funtime that does sound promising

jools sorry about AF. but I think Feb is going to be a lucky month for us.

yellowflowers · 15/02/2009 19:33

oooooh funtime, sounds promising...

Had ewcm yesterday and today and managed to have sex yesterday and dh has promised we can tonight too. I also got quite drunk on champagne at a birthday party last night but hope that doesn't have too bad an affect on any egg/sperm - it's okay to have a blow out every so often isn't it? I reckon I get drunk about once a month at the moment and drink alcohol about once a week, twice max (by which I mean a gin and tonic or two glasses of wine max). What about the rest of you?

Have decided not to tell dh about ewcm so we can carry on having lots of sex this week too in case of late ovulation.

Ooh, also just read the list. Kittycat?

funtimewincies · 15/02/2009 12:36

Jools - sorry to hear that the witch arrived, but so pleased to hear that you're feeling really positive about his cycle .

Symptom update - temp. shot up this a.m. (36.88) but that might be because I've a head cold and had a wee bit of beer last night .

However, I had my weekend treat of smoked mackeral and scrambled egg for brekkie this morning (so nice to find something that is cheap, good for you and is yummy ) and it just smelt weird, very strong. Then my lunch today (potted shrimps on toast, birthday treat for DH) also smelt very strong. Now, considering that I have a cold and a blocked nose ...

DH is already doing lots of pitying head-shaking at my obsessive symptom spotting !

Joolsiam · 15/02/2009 12:23

Time for a list update ...

Onwards and upwards - lots of practising last night befor AF arrived (he came home from watching the rugby with wine, chocs and flowers ), so have high hopes for this cycle

Kittycatcat - any news from you ??? (fingers crossed ...)

Looks like lots of symptom spotting going on in the next few days

wasabi - I know what you mean about wanting things to get back to normal, Fingers crossed that you've ov'd.

Jools - dare I also add my voice to Broodzilla's about doing a test now that you're 'properly' late? I'd be climbing that walls in your position.

We had a really disappointing evening last night . It was also DH's birthday, so we don't do anything Valentines-ey (although I did get a cream egg ). We decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway and decided to try a place which delivered, rather than having to drive out to get it, which we usually have to do.

Phoned at 8pm after putting DS to bed. Will take an hour, fair enough. It's a busy evening and a busy time of night. An hour goes by and after an hour and twenty I try to phone and find out what's happened. The phone is engaged for the next 40 minutes and in the end I give up as it's obviously been taken off the hook. We admit defeat and raid the cupboards. A delivery lad finally turns up at gone 10pm. I sent the food back, saying that it was of no use as we'd had to make something else to eat. I was polite but livid ! When I was young and could stay up all night if I wanted this would have been less of a problem, but it was nearly my bedtime .

Will try again with another place this evening, poor DH .

wasabipeanut · 15/02/2009 10:58

Oooh the 2ww is such a difficult time. Funtime and Broodzilla you both know it is way too early to even think about testing!

Jools - hang in there lovely. If your AF hasn't yet arrived it may be worth a quick cheapie test - as Broodzilla says stranger things have happenned.

Yellow you were right on the dinner! Both dh and I were passed out on the sofa 10 minutes after my parents left with 2 undrunk glasses of whisky on the table! We made up for it since though

And.....I think I might have ov'd. I wasn't expecting to but on Friday I had lots of crampy period type pains and they continued into Saturday morning. Plus last night I kept waking up because I was too hot and having lots of crazy vivid dreams which always happens after I ov. They are symptoms that point to ov but I don't know if I could have still had them even if I don't ov because my hormone chain is just kicking into life again. Who knows?

In theory if I have ov'd I should come on in about 10 days from now which will be nice in a wierd way as I will know I am back to normal.

I know it sounds odd but although I suppose there is a possibility that I could be pg again I don't want to dwell on it too much as I am now comfortable with not being pg. In fact, I think its been the fact that I am quite relaxed about the whole thing and know that I will concieve when my body and mind are ready that has made me feel like jumping on dh more often.

DH and DS are out swimming now so I get my Sunday morning chill out - bliss! Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies xx

Joolsiam · 14/02/2009 20:15

Still no AF

I like that story Broodzilla

I really can't believe it would happen to me though - no symptoms whatsoever !

funtimewincies · 14/02/2009 19:14

Broodzilla - step away from the pregnancy tests ! Implantation for most people is 6-10 days post ovulation.

(Will I take my own advice though )

Try and stay sane Jools (passes a glass of something nice)

Broodzilla · 14/02/2009 18:33

Oh, and HAPPY BELATED B-DAY to Wasabi! (Suddenly, B-Day takes on a whole new meaning doesn't it?)

Broodzilla · 14/02/2009 18:30

Thanks Jools, fingers crossed that's what my bellybutton's up to!
For what it's worth, a girl I used to work with used to say her DD was "immaculate conception" as her DH had such problems performing that she swears she has no idea how she managed to get pregnant. Given what we know about TTC and the odds, we may all be a bit too pessimistic. Don't forget that there's a reason teenagers are reminded that the withdrawal method is not reliable!

Despite the fact that it seems like a mountain to climb when TTC, people really DO get preggers by accident. Or even from the first time they ever have sex, so it's not as impossible as it seems sometimes.

(Also, it's good to cling to any straw we can!)

Joolsiam · 14/02/2009 15:14

Broodzilla - implantation for me was a wierd (not uncomfortable) sensation as if someone was poking me in the belly button, so keep spotting those symptoms both you and Funtime - I think we are overdue another BFP

If I thought I was in with a chance this cycle, I'd be climbing the walls right now - my usual luteal phase is 13 days and the 13 days were up last night (as I know full AF started Sat evening two weeks ago)

not sure where she is hiding, but I suppose getting back to a standard luteal phase with very little spotting has to be a good thing.

I am bloated but have no cramps whatsoever and no PMT - am actually in a really good mood for a change, despite having no Valentines card or pressie

I can't help thinking "what if" though

Broodzilla · 14/02/2009 15:09

funtime, you and me both... I'm 5 days post OV, and have had strange "stichy" feelings around my belly button (which I'm sure is too high anyway...) and this morning had a temp dip.

I found myself checking the HPT to try and work out how early it might be worth testing. It says for non-pregnant women the hormone levels are about 5 (missing the strange symbol) anyway, as they double each day and the supersensitive tests give a positive for 10 I guess in theory a couple of days after implantation would give you a positive result.

I'm going away on Thursday and will be gone for 2 weeks, which means that whether it's AF or a BFP I'll be on my own on D-Day... I know it's waaaay to early, but would prefer to know before I go.

Should we succumb and POAS?

Oh, and HAPPY VALENTINE'S to everyone!

funtimewincies · 13/02/2009 19:04

Oh heck - the obsessive symptom spotting has begun and I'm only 4 days post ov . Lots of twingeing in the pelvic area, slap me someone !

Joolsiam · 13/02/2009 13:26

Wanabe - I'm up in Bridgend quite a lot these days as my firm has a big office up here (and in Cardiff) and it is where my boss works from

It is quite handy though - I have friends in Newport and Swansea, so can often organise to see them without having to pay my own travel and hotel bills !!
