congrats to all with bfp. i tested yesterday and got a bfn. its still realy early tho- im not going to test now till prob this time next week if af dont get me!!!
also i dnt even if i ovulated this month, waiting for hospital getting back to me

Joolsiam · 26/02/2009 18:08

I don't mind you asking at all

BMI is 34 at the mo I AM very fit though - usually around 7 gym classes per week, so I'm guessing an adjusted figure may be a little lower - still too high though.

The weightwatchers web site suggests that I am 3.5 stone away from my ideal weight - I find that difficult to believe but would certainly like to lose 2 stone

LovelyMonster · 26/02/2009 17:54

Congratulations Broodzilla. What wonderful news for you. I bet you cant wait to be home to celebrate with DP. Dont worry about clam chowder. All seafood is safe to eat in pregnancy as long as it is cooked piping hot just before eating.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome back. What a strange thing this TTc is!

Jules - I remember you mentioning before how you were trying to lose weight. Feel free to ignore me but what is your bmi? I hope you dont think im a rude, cheeky wench for asking, is just I know I could do with losing some weight too. Have recently sucessfully stopped smoking (this time for good) so have gone easy on myself for a while. Thankfully have not put on any weight whilst doing this but might start thinking about it. Im going to go and google cambridge diet........

flintski · 26/02/2009 16:04

Hi all,

Broodzilla = what amazing news - I have been feeling so rubbish so its so good to hear something lovely and positive. Well done you (and DH of course!)

queenie1 · 26/02/2009 15:25

broodzilla - AMAZING NEWS!!! Huge congratulations to you. (and how strange about your dream).

Lots of love to you, xxx

Joolsiam · 26/02/2009 14:17

FAB, FAB news Broodzilla - has cheered me up no end

am having a grumpy and sad afternoon because someone I know who is not fit to be a mother is going on and on and on and on about her first scan (at ten weeks) and showing off the pics

iggypiggy · 26/02/2009 13:39

That's amazing news Broodzilla

funtimewincies · 26/02/2009 13:39

Thank heavens for that Broodzilla, I was beginning to think that we'd never get another BFP! Congratulations and pass some of the left-over clam chowder my way please !

yellowflowers · 26/02/2009 13:37

Wooooohooooooooooooooo broozilla - I am so very pleased. Well done you. And I ate bloody steak this week on basis that sod's law would mean bfp (it didn't alas) so am sure clam chowder would be fine.

wasabi - not diggin out of bin, I promise. It was on my bedside table because I was dozing.
Hope you af pains not too bad.

Will report back tonight or tomorrow re acupunture.

xx

ps I know that website is a bit much - but I bet you all check it out. ha!

wasabipeanut · 26/02/2009 13:10

Broodzilla thats just fantastic news!! Yay!

And don't worry about the wine and clam chowder - takes more than that to put off a determined bean!

I bet you can't wait to see your DH x

wasabipeanut · 26/02/2009 13:03

Welcome back Lovelymonster. Sorry to hear that the February effort hasn't borne a bean. I think 2 years is long enough to justify some testing.

Jools - I think some time out might be a really constructive thing. It seems a bit crazy if you are having communication issues to be ttc as well. I think we all know the immenses strain that ttc can place on a relationship so maybe its worth focusing on that and some weight loss if thats what you want.

Queenie - you speak wise words on post mc feelings. I am so keen to get cracking now its ridiculous! I am going to have to try hard not to become obsessive. I do so hope that you get your BFP this month.

Funtime - sorry to hear your dh is going to be away at crucial times over next few months. I very much hope March is your month. I do know that its not nice to feel like you're really on the clock though. I guess all you can do is try to have oodles of sex at roughly the right time.

Yellow - whats going on here? Digging tests out of bins after an hour isn't a good route to go down. They will almost always show positive after that time because of evaporation. Please don't do this to yourself. I hope the acupuncture appt goes well. Wll be interested to hear what he says about the extra spotting! If you temp is still high that does bode well though. Why don't you try to wait until the weekend then do a digital?

Nothing to report her obviously as AF is here. No idea how long it'll go on for - my reading has warned me to prepare for first post mc period being a bit wierd. It bloody hurt more thats for sure - my eyes were starting to water last night although it seems to have calmed down now thank god.

Broodzilla · 26/02/2009 12:46

Hi girls,

Sorry I've not popped in for a while, but am away in America and have had a very intense conference...
The conference finished yesterday, so I'm now officially free to do a bit of touristing.

It's only 7AM here, so I'll have to catch up on what's been going on with you guys a bit later once my head has properly woken up, but I just had to log on as today is D-Day for me.

I actually had a strange dream that I watched two of my friends POAS and get a BFP. As I was hugging one of them, I thought to myself "three's a lucky number" and actually woke myself up! I checked the time (FMU and all that...) and went to POAS. Well, more like pee in a cup, dip a stick...

Came back to my room, put the stick next to my bed and tried really hard to stay awake for the five minutes it takes... as I turned over to look at it, I was totally expecting it to be a blank one, so just took a quick glance to confirm it.... but wait... there was a line.
I thought I was seeing things (I'm not a morning person) so I turned on the lights and shook my head to wake myself up, and it's still there. It's not quite as strong as the control line, but it's very clear.

It doesn't feel real. I called DH to tell him, but I've told him to wait with the happy dance til I get home, as I want to wait it out for a few days.

I can't say I "feel pregnant", and have actually been living completely normally this last week and a half, including having a few glasses of wine and eating clam chowder... (which I now regret...) I also did a test on Monday, but that was negative. What I did notice though was that my hair isn't falling out as it normally does when I wash it, and even stranger, I usually wash my hair every day, but yesterday morning I didn't as it really didn't need it. Boobs are a bit swollen (I was blaming the bra) but other than that I feel fine.

I've also just remembered my strange stichy feelings by my bellybutton - Jools, I think it was you that said it could be implantation, and it now looks as if it was!

Right, I'm off to... I don't even know. Get my head around this all.... just wanted to share the news with you, as you've been so fantastic! I hope this one is a sticky one.

From the home of the free and the land of the brave,

Broodzilla (and a BFP!!! )

funtimewincies · 26/02/2009 12:34

Oh dear yellow, I think that it might be time to close down your computer and go and make a nice cup of tea (or GFJ) .

yellowflowers · 26/02/2009 12:23

funtime don't put too much pressure on yourself xx

am bored of this 2WW

funtimewincies · 26/02/2009 11:35

Good luck with the appointment yellow.

yellowflowers · 26/02/2009 11:27

yes you're probs right funtime - I have acupuncture appt today which will hopefully either bring on period properly or make spotting stop. Given the acupunturist said what he was doing was meant to make my periods start in full flow and be bright red I think he may be interested to know that so far there have been five days on pink/brown spotting instead!

funtimewincies · 26/02/2009 10:50

Welcome back Queenie and Lovelymonster .

Just as well wasabi, afternoon gin is a slippery slope (unless it's drunk in something cool and refreshing lazing in the garden on a sunny day )!

Yellow - hate to say it, sounds like and evaporation line, but I've been wrong before!

The pressure is on now to conceive next month as DH will be away with work at the important times during May and June and maybe April too .

queenie1 · 26/02/2009 10:38

jools - sounds like you've got a good attitude. The pressure of placing such tight deadlines can't help the ttc. The late may 'deadline' sounds much more realistic but don't put TOO much pressure on yourself to reach that one. That way it may just happen!!

And on deadlines, lovelymonster - I know just what you mean about wanting to get pregnant again before the MC-baby would have been due. I very much felt this after my first MC. When the time came and went and I'd clocked up another two MCs I felt desperate and had a bit of a melt down. We sort of took a few months off after that and it helped no end. So what am I saying? Again, like to jools, go easy on yourself and don't expect too much. That, I reckon, is ironically the best way of making it happen.

(But, of course, remind me of these easy-to-say words when AF arrives later this week!!!)

yellow - how frustrating for you.

I'm CD 27 today and I reckon 6 or 7 dpo. Have absolutely no idea whether I'll get lucky this month but so hoping...(of course!)...

x

yellowflowers · 26/02/2009 10:30

Hi jools - sorry you and dh are havign trouble. Maybe a month not trying will help take the pressure off, though of course not trying doesn't mean you can't still have 'spontaneous' bd on the fertile days. Thinking of you.
xx

Morning all, and welcome back LovelyMonster

Sorry to hear your frustrations Yellowflowers - it is so incredibly hard not to symptom spot and I had a couple of months last year where I was so convinced I was pg, that I was quite embarrassed to come back onto a TTC thread and confess a BFN !!!

I'm honestly not sure if we are going to TTC this month - should have been going for it from last night, and I think Friday will be the best day, but am not getting on too well with DP at the mo - talking but not communicating iyswim. I'm also now on a strict diet and can't help thinking that putting off TTC for a few weeks might help, especially as this Cambridge Diet averages a stone per month weight loss for the first two months - if I could lose that much, I'd feel better in myself, ie more sexy, DP might be a bit more interested in the bedroom and I stand a chance of a healthier pregnancy.

Soooo - I'm trying to tell myself it doesn't matter if I miss the egg this month or next month. I know that, at 39, I don't have many to waste but now I've missed my major deadline of delivering before I'm 40, the pressure is off a little and I'm kind of rethinking priorities to get my life back on track as I'm still wallowing in a bit of a post MC depression.

My next goal really is to be PG (ideally having seen a heartbeat) by my original due date of May 29th - not sure how possible that is, but we shall see.

Have a good day everyone

iggypiggy · 26/02/2009 09:05
