I knew I forgot something...
funtime that bug might be a good thing... I read somewhere that the beans implanting is actually kind of an invasion, and our bodies can only cope with fighting so many things at once, therefore a bug might come at a good time to distract your body about the little alien implanting!

yellow good luck at the GP! I think it's fab that you go in armed with a list.

AND - good luck and babydust to everyone in the middle of the BD-fest.

Now I'm really going. One strange side effect to being pregnant is that I've lost my sweet tooth. I really want to curl up on the couch with some ice cream, but I wouldn't be able to eat it.

Broodzilla · 10/03/2009 20:33

Oooh, I'm so glad I popped in today... I'm really struggling with the not telling anyone (and therefore not having anyone to talk to). I keep going from trying to think positively - I really do believe that it helps - to trying to not get too excited and happy just yet. This morning when I woke up I felt completely "normal" and of course had a mad panic thinking it's all over... so while it's horrible, in a way I'm glad that Iggy and Queenie you've been having similar thoughts.

I've also discovered that you only get a 20 week scan where we live. I can't wait that long, I'm still waiting to find out what caused the food poisoning so am constantly worried. Luckily it seems that you can get a private scan for around £50 and as I'm now 6 weeks (there's another good reason for temping, I know exactly when I ovulated, which means that the conventional way of working the dates from LMP is 5 days off) they should be able to find a heartbeat already. Will call them first thing in the morning.

Also, Kyte if you do cave in and test early, remember I tested on Monday and got a BFN, followed by a faint BFP on Thursday (D-Day) and I've just read about someone who didn't get a BFP until week 7.

Queenie and Iggy are you feeling tired? I feel like I need a nap every single day...
Also, the cramping has stopped. I hope that's a good sign. Funny how symptoms worry you both when you have them and when you don't! I also seem to find it near on impossible to concentrate on anything (typing such a marathon message is a real achievement) I'm not sure if that's due to being so distracted and having so much on my mind or if it's the famous pregnancy brain.

I'm going to chase DH away from the telly so that I can make sure I get to watch Mistresses.

One more thing... wasabi stick with the temping, it's such an exciting feeling when you finally get the spike!

Hi all,

queenie - am on cd22 today - af due sat or sun i think but really not very hopeful. feel very premenstrual and generally fed up with TTC! Dh and I have had a big heart to heart today and have realised that it (TTC) is taking over everything and we have got to stop that! It might even be that we give up actively TTC - our DD is 5 in December and I feel we are missing out on her little life by obsessing about a sibling that isn't happening!!

yellow - your list sounds about right, I hope your GP is a good one and give you some answers. i think queenie is right, I would stress the 18months.

kyte, good luck when you do test - its all sounding hopeful so far though - good luck!

hi everyone else!!

queenie1 · 10/03/2009 16:53

iggy - well done on updating list. Can't quite believe I've got a BFP next to my name!!

yellow - your list sounds fairly comprehensive. Can't think of anything significant you've overlooked. Best of luck with it and will be thinking of you next Monday. I hope you get the sort of responses / help you're after. I remember when I finally got referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic - it felt such a relief to speak to someone who knew what they were talking about. Hoping you get the referral you're after (obviously would tell doctors you've been trying for 18 months even though you've only been 'properly' trying for nine). But also, remember there may well be nothing wrong - some people do just take a while to conceive. Hugs to you. xx

iggypiggy · 10/03/2009 15:32

yellow I can see why that might worry you, but everyone is different so is good you going to GP so you can start ticking things off to set your mind at rest - or at least get an answer. xx

yellow this is the only thing i could find on spotting here

am sure you seen it tho

yellowflowers · 10/03/2009 13:42

kyte - re spotting - don't know but other thread seems to think this is something doctor should check out.

Anyone think of things I should ask doctor then?

My long list is:

Will smear test affect ttc
Could lletz suregery had in early 20s affect ttc now
Can I have day 3 and 21 bloods
Do we need to test thyroid levels?
Is spotting pre Af a problem?
I believe I've had some CPs - could this be a lack of progestorone?
Can I be referred to fertility doc
Am I on right dose of metformin
At what stage do we try clomid
Can we test DH's sperm

Queenie Hooray!!! congratulations!!

queenie1 · 10/03/2009 13:01

yellow - great to hear you have appt with doctor next Monday. Sounds like you should write down all the questions and queries you have before you go as, if you're anything like me, you'll forget some of the really important ones and then kick yourself later.

kyte - agree. hold out for as long as you can.

I;ve just read on another thread that if you have pre period spotting for more than three months this could be a problem and you need to go to gp . Am surprised but am going to mention to my gp when I go on Mon.

Jools & queenie v. sensible advice - I have emailed and texted the instructor - so hopefully he can get in touch with me before the class tonight.

queenie glad you feeling positive - your GP sounds nice. I've not personally seen a GP at my surgery since June 2007 - so no idea what they will be like really...

queenie1 · 10/03/2009 09:41

kyte - getting v excited for you. I'd probably do first response first as it's more sensitive I think than the internet cheapie's. How are you feeling?

Joolsiam · 10/03/2009 09:31

Iggy - re exercise - I was told by my GP that if something is going to go wrong, exercise is not going to affect it and to go about my regular gym routine during the first trimester.

I did tell my instructors - some Body Balance moves were amended and I was just told to take it easy in Body Combat. You are not supposed to let your heart race too fast or get too hot, and the guidelines I've read suggested that you should only exercise for 45 minutes at a time, so I stopped doing double classes for a while.

If it is a class you are used to, you should be absolutely find, but yes your instructor should know so that some amendments can be made if necessary. You will probably just get given lower impact alternatives to some moves and nobody else in the class will even notice

iggypiggy · 10/03/2009 09:17

ooh - have my fingers crossed for you kyte xx

Hi iggy - I'd quietly tell your boxfit class instructor who can advise you. They'll either recommend stopping or they'll help you tone down the work-out.

How are you getting on kyte and flintski - AF / testing time is coming up soon isn't it?

Saw doctor yesterday who was lovely and wished me lots of good vibes for this one and today, at least, I'm feeling positive.

For all those on the BD fest - enjoy! Never thought I say this after the pressure of sex every 2 days, but I'm really missing it (have been advised not to have sex for first 3 months given my history).

xx
