flinkski not sure if this realted to anything - but I always write my cycle down (always have done!) so when I started ttc i had lots of data about cycles already - but i noticed that my cycle got longer and longer as I actively started to ttc... I'm not sure if it was the tension in those last few days? Or ov'ing later? Anyway - just something i noticed!

funtime I know - will be glad of actually going and doing something - the waiting is driving me mad (althogh am obviously grateful for the chance to have the wait - IYSWIM )

yellowflowers · 17/03/2009 14:31

Waves at iggy, queenie and cindy - great to have reports on how you are doing? Is it all very exciting or ust nervewracking?

funtime - I know they are cheapies but they are WAY TOO EARLY! Tut tut.

Good luck ray and hopeforbundle*.

Hello pinkie, it's been ages....

I have used preseed 3 times now. Quite like it in fact - maybe will use even at non fertile times. does lessen sensation though I think, but does make it all so much easier especially mid week can't be bothered no time or enthusiasm for foreplay etc. Here's hoping it works.

Oh, other thing I forgot to say nurse said is that doing a smear has no effect at all on on ttc so not to put it off or anything.

flintski · 17/03/2009 13:56

hello

Really pleased your GP and nurse were nice yellow - at least you will feel like things are moving on and hopefully you will get pg in the meantime!
funtime - used a digital test (that's how convinced I must be pg, wasted good money on that!) so am pretty sure its right even though I still haven't got AF which nearly makes it my longest cycle in the 15 months or so I have been taking notice of it! Something must have delayed ov or didn't ov at all. Just want AF to arrive now so I can have a good glug of red to make me feel better. Definitely going to have a month (maybe more) off I think - we might even abandon 'actively trying' for a while as its just getting us down.

Hope everyone else is good today,

funtimewincies · 17/03/2009 10:44

You should see something with any luck . It also gives you a milestone to aim for to break up the horrible first trimester.

iggypiggy · 17/03/2009 09:53

funtime I got a BFN with one of those test when I used it early tho - so don't give up hope yet

Am pleased I have booked scan - will be 7 + 4 by then - so am hoping might see something..

funtimewincies · 17/03/2009 09:41

Well it's 7dpo in the Funtime house and a BFN as anticipated. I'm using tests which detect levels higher than 10miu/ml, so we'll see what Thursday brings.

Flintski - sorry about the BFN. What type of test did you use?

Yellow - good to hear that you've got a GP who takes these things seriously. I've got my appointment for my blood test results today and the lady I see is fabulous. It makes such a difference.

Jools - hope things are a little better since having a talk with your dh.

Iggy - I'm a great believer in early scans. I've had a consultant say to me 'well, if we'd scanned you early we still wouldn't have been able to stop the mc and even if we'd seen a heartbeat you still might have miscarried later' and I wanted to shout 'but that's not the point!' It's the unknown which is so hard. Good luck and keep us posted .

iggypiggy · 17/03/2009 08:43

flinkski so sorry to hear you got a BFN

yellow that sounds really positive - your GP sounds good. Also good that you being referred - either you will get PG before the appt (fingers crossed) or if not, at least you can move forward in working out why it might not be happening for you at the mo.

yellowflowers · 16/03/2009 22:37

Hello,

Went to Gp and nurse today with whole list of questions. Was generally helpful. Gp was happy to refer me to fertility specialist at Uch and said appt should be within 18 weeks. She also said blood tests from last year when I thought I might be pregnant and wasn't showed good lh and fsh levels and not indicative of too bad pcos. She also took my suspicions of having had chemical pregnancies seriously and said important to find out at hospital whether problem is getting pregnant or it sticking and was encouraging that if latter which CPs would suggest then progestorone would help.

Nurse did swab to check whether my thrush cleared up. She did smear at same time. She said that cervix looked healthy and normal.

They also said the lletz from 7 years ago has no effect on conception.

So all in all went as well as it possibly could. Am really quite relieved.

flintski · 16/03/2009 21:19

evening all,

well - BFN for me. Its Cd28 today so i'm guessing its pretty accurate and that i'll get AF in the next couple of days. Am really gutted because this is late for me and had convinced myself i might have been lucky.

hope everyone else is ok.

ray81 · 16/03/2009 14:40

hi guys, sorry have been away for while.

Havent manage to catch up completely however thought that i would update you.
i am 5 DPO and have been doing my temp and it would suggest a problem as my temp isnt remaining above the control line which would show i have low progesterone which would explain the failure to fall Pg and the mc when i do finaly fall.

Anyway have to shoot got to pick DD up from school.

HFBJ i realy hope you get your BFP soon.

hopeforbundleofjoy · 16/03/2009 14:30

still no sign of AF but all im getting is bfn on tests. im realy confused last tested wed or thursday last week. any sugestions???????

Pinkyblue123 · 16/03/2009 14:24

Sorry to hear things are difficult Jools ttc can be really stressful, it is difficult to think of anything else.

Glad to hear you are feeling more positive Yellow.

I am not sure about Preseed I have tried it but no BFP yet. I am thinking of temping next month if I don't get BFP just to make sure we are not missing vital time. I have been monitoring CM and weeing on sticks but maybe I am missing something. The BD fest was not as plentiful as I had hoped (we did manange it 2 times the day before OV but not since)as DH was too knackered (he is working really hard)
I found myself having a go about him about the lack of action and he said that I was becoming obsessed (I guess he has a point). I cannot help it though, I am very grateful for the two wonderfull children I have but really long for another.

iggypiggy · 16/03/2009 12:56

queenie1 seems like we having same lack of symptoms... partly feeling pleased and party feeling worried!

Have booked private scan for 30th March - couldn't help myself but seemed such a long wait till 30 April when it would be 12 weeks..

queenie1 · 16/03/2009 12:08

kyte - forgot to say interesting point about hcg surge and then levelling out. Lets hope that's what's happening with me too. x

queenie1 · 16/03/2009 12:07

Hi all - just been trying to catch up with all the posts

jools - sorry to hear things are so shitty with you and DH at the moment. I really do feel for you. Me and my DH have had our fair share of rows during the past two years all linked to ttc. I guess try not to be too rash and try to keep him talking with you about how he is feeling.

yellow - glad to hear you're feeling positive today. do you have your docs appointment? I can't remember, but have been thinking of you.

iggy / broodzilla - good to hear how you're getting on. Over the past week I've really been wondering whether this pregnancy is actually happening as symptoms have been so slight or absent but I did a test on Friday and the line was so dark I had to be! Boobs were very sore last night and I have had a few waves of slight nausea but apart from that nothing much to report. One week to go until my early scan. It's going to be a long week...

C1NDY · 16/03/2009 11:38

HI All, Have to be quick, boss is in a meeting and as I have had MS there is piles of work to do....

So, firstly, a big congratulations to Kyte !!!

I will be on Week 11 tomorrow and MS has subsided (touch wood).

I scanned some conversations about preseed... goush, I really recommend the product. The first month of trying I got a BFP. I think it does hold the sperm in for longer but also nourishes the sperm so they live for longer. If you don't have the right environement then they die really quickly as per the DP.

Okay, have to go. Will promise to try and catch up on the posts sometime this week. I am off on hols next week (celebration of turning 40 this Saturday gulp)

Take care all and baby dust to all.

Cindy

thanks for doing the list jools - looks like we need a mini recruitment drive...

Am pleased you and dh had discussion.
much love

Morning all! is lovely sunny day!

funtime I have stacks of internet cheapies... Am still testing periodically for reassurance at the mo. Although I should also admit that i got a BFN with them before my BFP - so you do need to keep trying with the tests sometimes!

yellow reckon preseed is worth a try anyway - can't do any harm.

jools good to hear you had a talk with DP - that is def a good thing.

broodzilla am also already bigger than I was - think is bloating - which I hadn't expected! But my trousers are already feeling tight - so I think I will be v.fat v. fast..

My PG symptoms have pretty much gone at the mo - just the occasional twinge... so am now worried about what that might mean - is all such a worry...

Joolsiam · 16/03/2009 09:04

Morning all

Thanks for all your messages. DP and I did talk long into Friday night after I broke down in tears in the pub. It seems that he has been a typical man and just completely withdrawn from me because he's been getting so depressed about possibly being unemployed again. He has a depressive personality, made worse by the drugs he has to take for epilepsy. Things have improved since - not enough yet but going in the right direction.

  • time for a list update I think. AF is being unusually painful this time - good news is that she was punctual TO THE HOUR, so I think I've got my cycle well and truly worked out !

Hi all,

Have been away visiting my brother who lives in Germany so haven't had access to computer - just trying to catch up with all the news but the thread moves so fast!! Hope everyone is enjoying their sunday evening - I am trying really hard not to think about work tomorrow for which I am totally unprepared and more importantly that I am CD27 and not even spotting (rarely ever get to day 26 without spotting)- am so desperately not trying to get my hopes up but obviously can't stop thinking about the (un)likliehood that i might actually be pregnant. Anyway,

jools - i just wanted to say hope things get better for you and your DH. Its rubbish when there is stress in a relationship and I think the suggestions about counselling might be good although I obviously know nothing about you so don't know if it is even something you would consider - it really worked for a friend of mine

yellow - have you sorted your pre-seed dilemmas? I have used it and really like it aside from whether it actually helps with conception or not (hasn't so far and I've been using it for 6 months!) are you off to the docs tomorrow? looking forward to hearing all about it.

broodzilla - glad you have something to keep you busy in those early weeks, I remember being exhausted with DD in the first trimester - like having to go to bed for an hour when i got in from work!

funtime - the cheapies are a great idea - you really don't feel bad weeing on them from 7dpo because of how cheap they are (wish I had some in the house because I definately would be peeing on them now!)

Sorry to everyone else for lack of personal responses - this is a mega post already and I'm meant to be doing my tesco shop (shall i stick a cheeky HPT in or hang on until the end of the week???? - there is nothing like bringing on AF by doing a HPT}

Broodzilla · 15/03/2009 14:50

Hi ladies,

I've been on a course for the latter part of the week (and back again tomorrow...) it's been hard work and really intense, but you know what? It's stopped me obsessively monitoring my body and googling everything pregnancy related so that can only be a good thing. Although it does get in the way of my afternoon naps...

Symptom wise, the nausea comes and goes, but as long as I keep nibbling on something every couple of hours it's managable. My belly is noticeable, although I'm sure it shouldn't just yet... if it keeps growing at this rate I'm going to be ginormous!

wasabi hope your egg has arrived! Can't remember if I've done the hard sell on Agnus Castus on this thread, but if I haven't: look into it. Only from day 1 til OV though...

smiley thanks for letting us know there is a safe place on "the other side". Glad you're doing well. Will hopefully be joining you in a few weeks, but don't feel ready just yet - unless I get kicked out of here!

Jools well done for sticking with your diet! Having said that, sometimes you really need to allow yourself to climb into bed with a bar of chocolate - it's good for the soul! I hope you manage to work things out with your DH soon, I second whoever suggested Relate. It might help you both to get things out in the open.

Yellow I've never had problems with lack of EWCM but we decided to try Pre-Seed partly because I wanted to try anything and everything, but also to make things a bit more fun as saliva is definitely not sperm friendly. I wouldn't worry too much about not knowing what's coming out, gravity will ensure that you don't have gallons of Pre-Seed gradually appearing.

Funtime I like the new strategy! I POAS way, way too early, but you never know... one day the line will take you by surprise!

Queenie Good luck with your scan. I know I'm probably too late with my vote, but I think you should go for peace of mind. You know it may well be too early for a heartbeat, so don't get too disappointed if you don't get to hear it, but just to know that the bean is hanging in there must be comforting - especially if they've said you can go in a week later for the heartbeat.

I gotta go do some work as I'll be spending the next three days on the course and not get any work done at all...

Babydust all around!

yellowflowers · 15/03/2009 00:20

Dh came to bed too tired for sex. We did it last night and will do tomorrow morning but I am still annoyed.

Used pre-seed for first time last night. Two thoughts/observations: (tmi alert)

  1. there was far less leakage of sperm afterwards. Presumably the pre-seed holds it all up there?

  2. given how like ewcm it is, in the coming days how will I know whether I am having real ewcm? Or whether it is leaking out?

OP posts:
yellowflowers · 14/03/2009 22:28

funtime I buy cheapies too. I end up testing every day (sh! sometimes twice a day!) but only costs a fiver a month and though it doesn't stop the symptom spotting I like being able to test.
