Look, I have stopped temping.

Bursting out of my trousers with eating constantly. Still not complaining though.

Evening all

Loads of snow here today - went into work (very slowly!) this morning, but came home early as dd's nursery was shutting after lunch. Pre-school is also closed, so we'll be making more snowmen tomorrow!

MJIM - have you tried taking just some paracetemol? Sure you can take them when bf, and it might take the edge off the pain. Hope Naomi gives you some peace soon - dd was a terrible screamer up until about 4 months, pretty much constantly from 4-10pm. I did think she would send me mad at one point.

Bellie - fingers crossed baby stays put until the snow has cleared

Pureeandpearls - welcome to the thread. I too have PCOS which messed up my cycles no end! I did chart my temp, which was quite accurate for my pg in August (mmc in Oct sadly), but I had the weirdest temp pattern going on in Dec, so it was a complete surprise to get pg that month!! EWCM was my best indicator of ov too - when it arrives, just go for it girl Hope you get lucky soon

Daisyj - dd was a constant wriggler - my stomach was an endless source of amusement at work towards the end of my pg with dd! I don't think there's anything to worry about - a good sign surely you've got a lively little one in there

HC - how are you feeling? Stopped temping now? Honestly..????!

Sorry to everyone I've missed - no doubt will be about tomorrow - it's good being snowed it

Dawni-your AF should arrive 14 days approx after OV so about the 12th Feb. Test date is usually 3 days later so don't know why the 17th is highlighted. Is it the 17th Feb or CD17 or DPO17 that is highlighted.

MJIM-yes, you have pulled a muscle. Can you take Naomi to the GP to see if there is any other reason for the screaming. Must be soul destroying for you. DD1 cried alot but was fine once she was weaned but you have a while to go yet before weaning.

MJIM Sounds like you've pulled a muscle, get yourself to the docs you may need anti-inflamatries !! Sorry to here Naomi is that unsettled, must be hard at the moment, my cousin text today to say Callum screemed till 3am, they couldnt take much more and put him in bed with them, she said he clung to her like a little chimp !! He'd been screaming from 7pm'ish when he goes to bed.

Hi everyone, snow is melting but we've a bad forecast for 6pm onwards !!! My hols is nearly over, back up at 5.35am tomorrow what a shame.

DawnAS You sound well hun, your nursery sounds lovely, you will have to post a pic In answer to your question, i often start with AF pains as soon as 3-4DPO, this time is slightly different, the AF pains are'nt nearly as bad and my left (.)(.) aches, and usualy by now ive had pink cm but im going through loads of toilet roll checking, and nothing as yet, Im probably reading far too much into all this and AF will just arrive anyways !! Its just different feelings from the last few cycles.

Bellie Sounds like theres lots of fun in the snow at your house

HC Maybe the 17th Feb highlighted is time to test if no AF ??? Though AF due on 9th , Maybe time to sart testing for Ov ?? Anyways, hope you've had a nice day, the snow is starting heavy again here, was'nt supposed to be here till later !!!

Willmouse Hope your well sterilised and dont eat all your shopping too soon, it could snow for days !!!Good luck with the fairy cakes, save one for me

MJIM Sorry to hear Naomi isnt quite settled, hope your getting your rest too, makes it easier to cope xx

Hope everyone else is well, much love to all

D xx

Bellie · 02/02/2009 15:30

hello all,

loads of snow here - at least 10 inched and it is still snowing! DH and dd in the garden building a snowman. The snow is over dd's wellies and when she falls over she can't get up.

Yes my parents are here until beanie arrives now - they were due to come Wed as am supposed to have c/s on Thur at 41 weeks, but they didn't want to be stuck in the snow if beanie comes before.

Am quiet worried that will not make it to hospital if it does decide to come today as no vehicles can move down our road. Mum says she will get the towels out eek!

Welcome pureeandpearls, enjoy the thread everyone is soo supportive.

Fingers crossed for those symptom spotting!

DawnAS · 02/02/2009 14:54

Hello all,

Gosh, what a busy thread we have at the moment.

Welcome to PureandPearls and LuckySalem and good luck with TTC!! You'll get lots of support on here and there'll be lots of laughter but maybe some tears too... Usually tears of joy though when the Bonkers Babies arrive!!

HC, well done for keeping the news quiet from the ILs this weekend. Hope that everything is going Ok for you. My nausea was like that, just had to eat all the time -shame!!

CE, Yay for snow!! I'm down in Torbay so we only get to see it on the TV. We did have a flurry earlier but it lasted about 5 minutes and then sunshine again, although it is freeeeeezing cold!! It occurred to me that neither of my nieces, who are about to turn four, have ever experienced snow first-hand. How weird is that?! Hope the bump is being kind to you today!!

Dawni, how are you doing today hun? Anymore pains? I had stabbing pains in my left-hand side during implantation, so I'm still keeping everything crossed for you. Would you normally get AF pains this early in your cycle or is it unusual?

Willmouse, sorry about your poor little ones and their spots. I have one little scar on my chin from chickenpox when I was 8 and you can hardly notice it now. Much better to get it when they're younger because it can be even nastier (if that's even grammatically correct....) when they're older. Hope they recover soon!!

Bellie, any more aches and pains hun? Really hoping that things start for you soon!! I'm so excited, I can't wait!! Sorry that I'm a bit out of touch, do we know what you're having yet? Other than a baby of course!!

MJIM, hey hun, how are you? Is Naomi starting to settle now, I noted your comment earlier... Do you think this is the sign of things to come for me too since I'm having a girl? Please hold onto all the advice you're getting because I may well need it!! I have to say though that I don't tend to take too much notice of advice from MWs and HVs (sorry if that makes me bad), only because my Mum had 5 of us and we were all very healthy so I figure that she gives as good advice as anyone else!!

Mandy, gosh, how time has flown!! I can't believe that you've only got 6 weekends to go!!! Where has that time gone? Hope everything goes Ok at the next check-up. I've got mine in 6 weeks time for the 28 week scan. Although they were very pleased with our little girls progress this time otherwise they would have had us in sooner, so hopefully nothing to worry about here either.

Daisyj, hope little Bo isn't giving you too much grief today!! Good idea about the porridge. I've got a stinking cold and when I've got a cold, I buy those pots of Ambrosia Rice Pudding and pop them in the microwave. Yum yum, that's where I'm heading in a minute - to the kitchen!!

Ceebee, hoping you're Ok today hun.

Apologies if I've missed anyone off - this thread is getting wonderfully large!!

So, not much news my end. DH finished decorating the nursery this morning before he went off to work (working late shift 12pm-8pm today). We now have a beautfiul nursery rhyme mural on the wall in the nursery with beige walls and a light coffee coloured carpet. It's all done so that DH can get on with his homestudy course and get it finished before the little girl arrives. She's been fairly active but has already got into a bit of a pattern. Generally active when I go to bed and then about 5am and then when I eat at mealtimes. I'm sure that will change dramatically though over the next couple of weeks.

So, no snow here - boo hiss!! Would have been lovely since I work from home, but ho hum, there you go.

Hope you're all coping with the Big Freeze Ok.

Just a quick question. Can anyone recommend a good DVD in replacement for antenatal classes? We don't have any antenatal classes around here anymore and any privately run ones have got terrible reputations. So I'm not going to do any but really think I should at least know what is supposed to happen!! I've got sisters and lots of friends, but everyone has different experiences. I just want to understand the basics. Then DH can understand too!!

xxxx

HumphreysCorner · 02/02/2009 14:16

Absolutely no lurking allowed pureeandpearls I have a friend that used Clomid for her DS1 and then fell naturally with DS2. Hope this happens for you.

Snow gone now so will drag myself to Tescos tomorrow.

Dawni-you OV'd day 17 (29th Jan) so that should be highlighted in green. Could the 17th Feb be your test date?

Just back from Tesco doing a ridiculous emergency shop on the basis that we may get snowed in - watch us get nothing now. Aparently it is going to start at 4pm.....

PP - good luck with it! Do you think you will need clomid again this time? I had a hsg this month and a day 21 blood test last month just to check things are OK. To cut a long story short I have very bad AF's so consultant is helping us along with conception so we can then sort her out! I have an appointment for results at end of Feb so a bit of a wait yet but I am remaining calm.

Dawni- well done on the housework. Having done a food hygiene course I feel the need to sterilize my kitchen .......

Anyhow, have a load of eggs going out of date today so am on a mission to make at least 24 fairy cakes and then freeze them!

pureeandpearls · 02/02/2009 11:48

Thanks guys- I have to say when I was last on the ttc chatrooms I was overwhelmed by support. Have been perusing the ttc threads and you seem the nicest by far

It occurred to me you know nothing about me - profile aside. I have one dd, babypearls, who is 8 months and was conceived after three years, one mc, five cycles of Clomid and an ectopic scare so she is VERY precious (not that babies are anything other than precious). We're acting on the advice that your fertility is likely to be at it's best in the year after giving birth and therefore ttc number 2. Waited until she was eight months because if it did happen first time then there would be enough of an age gap that if I get SPD again I'd be able to cope, and if it takes another three years then we're better to start sooner rather than later.

I have PCOS so temping is quite pointless (annoyingly) so the only thing I can usually successfully go on is CM (yuck.) No idea where I am in my cycle either since they have always been all over the place. Got a bit excited when babypearls arrived as they came like clockwork but have been up the spout since I stopped BFing.

Sorry- bit of a ramble. Will slink back to my lurky corner now. Look forward to getting to know you!!

Dawni · 02/02/2009 11:16

Think i got it, does it think thats when im due to ovulate again ??? That would be very early as my AF can go on up to ten days sometimes

Dawni · 02/02/2009 11:14

HC Why is the date 17 highlighted on the FF calander ???

Dawni · 02/02/2009 11:11

Still snowing here, DS has the biggest snow ball in front garden !! Ive bottomed the living room, now need a brew and chocolate

Willmouse Like to think DH is right bout you, will keep everything crossed xx

Welcome Pureeandpearls Like willmouse said, we are on loads, get lots of support on here, especially when feeling down...Im CD21 and stupidly symptom spotting as usual!!! AF due Monday next week and cannot relax

D xx

Mandy73 · 02/02/2009 11:03

Hang in there Bellie!

Welcome Puree and Pearls !

HC it's sounding v positive indeed... Hooray!

Love to everyone, I hope you are all OK.

Sorry I'm not around much but I'm getting seriously stressed about my deadlines. And a bit nervous/excited about 2nd uterine artery doppler scan on Thurs but trying to think positively (have no reason not to).
Six weekends to go (max) and we'll have a baby, fingers crossed!

This new layout is freakin me out

xx

ChocolateEclair · 02/02/2009 10:10

welcome to puree and pearls! (great name!)

We have lopads of snow so school is closed .... yippee!!!!!!!!!!

DP took me in just to pick up some marking...that's what I am doing honest!

MrsPuddleduck · 02/02/2009 10:03

HI all

Hello to PureeandPearls and LuckySalem!! I am ttc no3 and Dawni is ttc no2 (I think) we are both on here lots so there is alot of chat on this thread!

DS1 seems a bit better today but when I phoned school was told he needed a week of and that the spots have to crust over and then the scabs drop off I am off to Tesco in a min to get some emergency supplies and tem million craft kits to see us through the week. Heavy snow is forecast for later on in the day here.

HC - well done for fooling the rellies!

CE - hope beanine has calmed down!

Dawni - well done on the positive thoughts!

Bellie - hope you don't get stuck! Any news today???? Are your parents just staying with you now until the snow subsides? Are you being induced on Thursday (sorry I have forgotten )

For some daft reason I am feeling quite positive as well. DH is convinced I am pg because I have eaten so much this weekend - personally I think it is because I am so greedy!

CD23 here - AF hopefully not due on Sunday!

HumphreysCorner · 02/02/2009 09:37

Good morning ladeezs

A big hello and welcome to pureeandpearls and wishing you lots of luck. This is a brilliant supportive thread and that is why everyone stays even when their babies arrive.

Schools open as normal here much to DD1's disappointment. We only have a bit of snow.

daisyj-DD1 was a mad kicker, just means you might have a lively child.

Must go and light a fire but will check back later for any Bellie news.

Oh, must eat something to help the nausea but am not complaining at all.

Big wave to all!

Sitting here in bed, as trapped in Lewisham ? no buses or trains this morning, and already had texts from two colleagues to say they can?t get in either. It?s been 4 pages since I had a chance to post, so stand by for an epic!

CE ? glad OFSTED went well ? that must be a weight off your mind ? it's really good that you can leave on a high. Interesting what you say about thinking the baby is a stubborn little boy ? I feel exactly the same about Bo. He is so active, I sometimes feel as though I?m engaged in a battle of wills ? I don?t feel negative about it, just that it might be something of a combative relationship! Also interesting about plans if the baby stays breech. My MW told me they don?t make any plans until 36 weeks, if the baby hasn?t turned by then. I have 32-week check with her tomorrow, so will see what she says then. Can?t remember whether I posted this here or not, but the midwife who does our antenatal classes told us that moxibustion by an acupuncturist has a very high success rate in turning babies, if you?re inteterested.

Bluestar ? hope your weekend with your friends went OK ? it?s good that they can be with you and feel safe to be themselves. for you feeling sad. I?m guessing we?ve all that ?that dream?, and it?s heart-wrenching.

Dawni ? lol about the dog and the relaxation CD. And try not to fret ? surely your AF feelings might be implantation cramps? And OUCH with the bath oil! Am keeping fingers and everything else firmly crossed for you.

HC ? glad you got your money back from the straighteners ? if he didn?t want bad feedback he shouldn?t have been a rubbish seller! Great news re pg symptoms and CB test.

MJIM ? so sorry you?re still worried about Naomi?s weight. Sounds like you?re getting some excellent advice, though. We have tiny dainty babies in our family, but they are all really robust! I?m sure I?ll worry just like you if Bo is slow to put on weight, though.

Bellie ? [excited emoticon] ? can?t wait for the next bonkers baby . Not long now...

Dawn ? fab scan news, hon, love the pic. So excited for you ? it?s such a special time .

Willmouse and Ceebee ? sorry about spots ? poor little mites ? hope all better soon. Having chicken pox when I was four is one of my most vivid childhood memories ? I think I quite liked all the attention . I have a couple of little scars, but they are just small dips in the skin, ceebee, and not unsightly, so don?t worry.

Welcome to LuckySalem ? this is indeed a lucky thread, so stick around .

All fine here ? Bo was insanely active yesterday, even for him ? I thought he was going to break out! Seriously, though, is there any reason to worry about too much activity? if that?s a stupid question?

Right, off to have some porridge with honey - hopefully it'll provide some internal central heating in our rather cold flat...
