I would have picked the first one MJIM as it is so cute. We need a new one as the old one is so torn but I need giraffes on it. Sorry about the colds.

My doppler has arrived today [excited emoticon] Think I'm just hearing the placenta or my heartbeat as only 7+5 but still good fun. Have made an appointment with the MW for the 5th March and I shall be 10 weeks that day.

Ceebee-you did the right thing you know and Josh soon got fed up with you not playing the game didn't he. Bless him.

Had some pancakes at 11am so hoping the stodge will stop the nausea for a few hours.

Ceebee, sorry I missed you - I'd been writing that post since 9am and only got around to sending it - hence I missed yours!! How strange with Josh? I can imagine how you must have felt though but well done for not giving in!! It must be so hard and I'm not looking forward to that stuff, but it has to be done. Hurrah for Sam though - what a gem!!

Detox, glad you're not suffering with MS, I didn't either so I was very lucky!! Little Jelly is kicking for most of the time now and last night it was enough to hinder my falling asleep which has never happened before. But then she's one week older tomorrow so maybe she's getting excited about her "Pre-birth-day" she'll be terribly upset when she's born and we only celebrate it once a year!!

MJIM, sorry about the cross-posts!! Also sorry that you've caught Naomi's cold - glad that she had a better night though - long may it continue!!

xx

DawnAS · 17/02/2009 12:09

Morning all,

Mammoth post coming as I haven't been on here for a few days!!

HC, in a way, glad about the MS, but also not, for you!! How many weeks are you this week? Hopefully it will start to ease soon!!

Wilmouse, the only time that I ever really had any nausea was when I was in the car, other than that, wouldn't have known I was PG either time, so I wouldn't worry too much. Although it is difficult not to, I know... I'm sure it will be fine. Glad the Chicken Pox is out of the way - it's yucky... Good job they got it young though, is much worse if you get it when you're older!!

Pureandpearls, yuck!! Rush-hour with a pushchair - doesn't sound much fun at all!!

Dawni, so pleased about your referral, it's about time they took it seriously isn't it?!! And well done you for going to the gym!! I can't stand the gym I have to say. It always seems like such a good idea - but that's as far as it gets with me - a good idea!!

MJIM, hope you had a better night again with Naomi, it's horrid when they have a cold and probably won't help the sleeping!! Normally I'm an 8 hours a night sort of girl, so I'm not looking forward to that dramatic change. A novelty for about a week I'm sure but no doubt that wears off quickly!!

Bellie, Congratulations on the arrival of Orin!! Sounds quite traumatic but you all got through it safely which is great news!! Shame he's a bit sickly though, poor little mite. Great advice from Willmouse though - I'll be filing that into my "Handy Tips for when Jelly's born" file in my brain (which will no doubt have turned to mush by then...).

CE, how are you doing hun? How much longer have you got to go, I'm losing track!!

Waves to everyone else, apologies to those that I've missed!!

Not much news here. Nursery is now fully fitted out with new Ikea furniture and decorated. I'll try and get some pics on soon.

DH has his sister, niece and nephew here until tomorrow so the house is a bit mad. Glad I'm working to be honest...

My sis had a 25 week scan on Friday as they're concerned that her baby is very big and they estimate that he is already 2lb 2!! Eek... So they've said that if he continues to grow at that rate, they may need to deliver him at 36 weeks. She's got another scan booked for 30 weeks.

Anyway, it's really quiet at work at the moment and DH has taken his family out to see all his other family this afternoon, so I'm going to make the most of it and catch up on my Whitechapel from last night and have my lunch!!

Hope you're all Ok.

Morning all - I honestly don't know where the time goes!

Dawni glad the hospital are taking you seriously - the fact you already have one child shouldn't matter! Good luck

CE wow, not long to go now. I met my friend yesterday who is due around the same time as you - she already has a 3 year old and is finding it hard - plus she is working up until she is 37 weeks - she must be mad!!

MJIM glad you got a better night's sleep! We have all had a cold aswell - Josh picks them up at nursery and then kindly shares them with us all

Willmouse glad the pox have left your house - I so feel for you as it is a real nightmare! With Sam I didn't get any pg symptoms till I was about 7 weeks - then the nausea struck

Had a nightmare evening last night - I was trying out the new bedtime routine to try and get Sam in his cot in the evening rather than downstairs with us. It all worked fine - Sam was upstairs by 7.15, never heard another peep out of him until the alarm went off at 6.45 this morning - was great. But Josh was a whole other story!! I put him to bed at 7.30 as usual, he wouldn't stay in bed so I tried the 'back to bed' stuff that Supernanny uses (which has worked before) - Josh found it hilarious and was showing no signs of flagging! So by 8.30, I was starving as I hadn't had any tea so I gave up and just left him upstairs by himself. He stood on the landing at the stair gate crying for about 15 minutes and then put himself to bed....I felt so guilty though All I wanted to do was give him a cuddle but I know that would just make things worse! The good news is that he slept until I woke him up at 7 this morning and only got up once in the night (and I don't think he was even half-awake then so he went straight back to bed).

Ooh that was a bit of an essay Josh is usually good at bedtime so I have no idea what was wrong with him

Morning all

Just checking in as at work yesterday - hope everyone is well.

Willmouse - I have had next to no pg symptoms, and while I can identify with the paranoia of not having any, do try and relax and enjoy not feeling ill . I didn't have any ms or anything with dd either, so I look at as a good thing!! No 2 pg's are the same so don't fret.

HC - hope you're feeling better soon

Dawni - am v impressed with you being down the gym. I am out looking for a wii fit today for dh's birthday, so I'm kidding myself I'll be able to do some exercise on that

HumphreysCorner · 17/02/2009 09:14

Morning ladies

Everyone OK? It is very quiet on here at the moment.

Nothing to report except MS. Ew!

Anyone in the 2ww and nearly testing?

Hi. Sorry I have been gone - chicken pox has been really bad but DS2 is over it now

Wellies - lovely to hear from you!

MJIM - sorry Naomi has a cold I think second children catch more off the first iwswim. DS2 always catches what DS1 brings back from school.

HC - glad you are OK

Dawni - glad you have got a referral. I was told to do the blood test on day 21 - based on a 30 day cycle. If you are ovulating early it should be detected. How's your DH bearing up?

CE - are you de-mob happy yet?

Bellie - poor Orin. Top tip - put a towel over the top end of his cot/crib a bit like a drawer sheet and then if he is sick all you have to do is whip it off and replace it with another rather than changing the whole bed. I have loads of white towels for this pupose as DS2 had reflux. You can just bung them all in on a boil wash after.

Well, I am sat here at 5 + 2 feeling absolutely fine and getting really paranoid about the fact. I don't feel remotely nauseaous, my boobs are slightly sore and obviously AF is a no-show. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

pureeandpearls · 16/02/2009 20:18

Good for you Dawni- I had to go to work! And tomorrow I've got to brave the rush-hour commute with a pushchair. Eek.

Hi all xxx

Good morning all, hope you all had a good weekend

Got a letter from my doctor today, referal has been made to Carlisle hospital, and she wants me to book in with the nurse around day 21-24 for blood test and DH has to do semen sample also, so here we go again, maybe third time lucky at Carlsisle seen as though the biological clock is now ticking, in the past there was nothing they would do as we were both fine and already had a son !! This is the fourth time we've been refered to hospital, after lots of investigations and both of us being ok they always sent us away to 'just keep trying' ...When you have conceived a child naturally they are not interested. Maybe now, 14 years down the line and getting older, maybe...Just maybe they will help us on our way ?

Much love

D xx

Hi all

Just popping in to say a quick hi after a long absence and very, very to see your good news, HC!

A few new names on here - good luck and congrats as relevant.

I'm coming up to 38 weeks now, baby boy is due on 4th March. Feeling absolutely massive and tired but otherwise fine. First day of mat leave today so back on MN! It's also first day of half term though so DS will be keeping me busy too!

Hugs to all.

HumphreysCorner · 16/02/2009 09:19

Belgianbun-did you have your tests?

MJIM-hope you had some sleep last night.

Willmouse-how are you doing? I'm still feeling very sick thank goodness.

congratulations on the birth of Orin Bellie. Must have been very stressful those first few days. It is great that he is sleeping well but shame about the puking-Oh the joys of the extra washing a newborn brings!

Belgian hope all goes OK

HC sympathise re the stress of those early weeks. Time ticks by so slowly.

MJIM hope Naomi starts sleeping a bit better. My sister's baby is a similar age to Naomi and they are having sleep issues too. Also a friend of mine called me the other day for advice on how to get her baby of 4 months to sleep better so I think it is very common at 4-5 months. Can't say I had any decent advice to give her though!

Must go-typically DH has taken the elder two to the park, and just as I settle down to an hour in peace on mumsnet etc DS2 has woken up.

ChocolateEclair · 15/02/2009 09:18

Hi Guys, sorry to hear about all those who aren't sleeping due to sick dc. I am sure I will be exactly the same in a few weeks!

HC - I do understand you paranoia, esp when you have had a mc before. Do you remember when I did all those pg tests at 6-8 weeks and they kept getting lighter? In the end I went sobbing to the MW and told her. She suspected a mc but obviously it wasn't as now look at me! Just wanted to advise caution as even if the levels have dropped, it doesn't mean bad things. MW put it down to placenta taking over early even though my ms carried on until 13 weeks! Whatever you decide, DON'T PANIC!!!!

Off to SIL in an hour so just cleaning out hamsters and packing a bit

Have a nice few days all xxxxxx

Bellie · 15/02/2009 09:06

morning - what a night!! Orin has turned into sickie baby!! Had to change the bed twice last night as it went everywhere - poor little thing all over his eyes, ears and hair so ended up bathing him too - not what you need at 4am!!

Still he did sleep from 11 to 4 so I should be grateful for small mercies!!

HC - will the hcg hormone still be strong enough at 9 weeks? Genuine question as I thought that it was not detected quiet so easily later on in pregnancy?

CE - glad to hear that you are ok but just busy - just keep thinking only one more week to go!! Have fun away.

Got to go Orin just woken up - be back later I hope!

detoxdiva · 15/02/2009 08:29

Morning all

MJIM - hope you had a better night. It's just soul destroying when they don't sleep isn't it. I remember dd was a nightmare for sleeping during the day - I had to carry her everywhere and rock her to get any peace....and then she'd wake as soon as I got within 10 feet of her moses basket Am hoping this one will be one of those lovely chilled out babies who I can leave anywhere and they'll sleep Hope this is a better week for you.

Willmouse - good to hear you (and dh!!) are enjoying all the benefits of pregnancy My boobs (which I think are plenty big enough to start with ) just seem to have taken on a life of their own - I am on holiday next week and will be spending it buying maternity clothes as all my waistbands are too tight already!

CE - yay for half term...enjoy your time away

Bellie - hope all is well with baby Orin, and that you are keeping well.

Quiet day here today - dh at work so need to think of things to do to keep dd occupied (and wear her out so she sleeps well tonight!)
