I'm 23 and hoping to try for a baby from next month.

Anyone else?

So sorry to hear about the mmcs I hope you all get lucky this time around.

Oh Joy I'm hearing you!

Devils I hope you're right, but it's the ttc that seems to be the issue - if we get pregnant, I won't care a jot! I just don't want to be the first ttc and then everyone else having babies! It'll be crushing.

Here's hoping that by the end of 2009 this thread is full of us sharing our birth stories or supporting each other as we wait to pop! Then we can all look back and chuckle at how silly we all were!

Joy27 · 14/01/2009 10:57

Hello littlemiss and theboob.
Wow, ttc #4 theboob- how fantastic!
Welcome ladies. There are more of us twenty-somethings than I thought there would be.

theboob · 13/01/2009 20:31

hi I'm 27 and ttc#4 ,I am on my 2ww AF is due 21st of jan and nobody but my best friend knows I'm trying as all I will get is "AGAIN....ARE YOU MAD"
well yes I am

littlemiss26 · 13/01/2009 20:21

can i say hello! i'm 29 ttc#2 had mmc three weeks ago so i guess i'm on cycle 1 at the moment. nice to see so many friendly ladies from the oct thread (hi bubble, irish, joy and devils )

have to admit i feel quite competitive about being pregnant, particularly as i should have been 4 months now! everyone seems to be pregnant

DevilsAdvocaat · 13/01/2009 20:13

ladies, it won't feel like that i promise.
when you get pregnant you won't be worrying about other people, you won't have time because you'll be thinking about baby stuff!

my sis got pg 3 months after me (her third, my first) i was a bit put out at first because it felt like she was trying to steal my thunder, (crazy huh?) but in the end it was awesome having someone to talk pg with and moan about not having a drink

Joy27 · 13/01/2009 18:04

Sabs, sorry about your mmc. I had a mc last year... it can hit you harder than you'd expect, can't it? Good luck ttc.

Lisey, good to know I'm not alone in feeling like this. It's icky isn't it, to feel jealous and competetive in this way? It's just that I can picture my friend/s announcing their pg and everybody being all surprised and shocked and congratulatory (there are no babies and no marriages in our friendship group yet). And I would be wanting to yelp "but we've been trying for aaaages! And I had a mc! And it's my tuuurn!". And then if we did manage to conceive, we'd just be bringing up the rear and the group would be all "oh look, joy decided to do it too".

I know, I know: Complete. Lunatic.

bubblebell1 · 13/01/2009 17:34

hi sabs.. sorry to hear about your mmc i hope this month is your lucky month.

Sabs1981 · 13/01/2009 17:33

hello ladies, can i join? I'm 27 and ttc#1. Has a mmc in sept, have been waiting 3 months before trying again. Am now on my 2ww of cycle 1. AF due Sat 17th Jan, hoping she doesnt visit me!!!

AngelFairy · 13/01/2009 16:27

Im stunned...
They warn us about the 'dangers' of becoming pregnant our whole lives, and seeing teenagers pushing prams had be believing! But gosh, after following my sister through her ttc#2 with all the facts that prove how very difficult it is to concieve (not to mention all the agonising comments on these threads) I am surprised we survive as a race!!

Phew... That ramble was scary !

Lisey09 · 13/01/2009 16:23

Hello, I'm 26 and we're going to be ttc dc#1 from March onwards.

Definitely understand how you feel Joy - I made the mistake of telling one of the girls in our friendship group last summer that we were going to be ttc come early 2009 and she went on and on about not wanting a kid yet then two weeks later her hubby tells my DP that they are going to be ttc from January.

I was gutted! I too don't want to seem like we're copying them. Especially as they were the first to get engaged, first to get married etc etc, it would be nice if someone else had a chance!!

So only 1 very close, old friend knows the plan!

I am getting so excited about it and DP thinks I'm mad!

bubblebell1 · 13/01/2009 14:24

(grins and waves back at irishmum)

i was the first of my group to get married and have kids. now they are all pregnant and im so so so broody. this time last yr i said if i make it a year without ttc then i will be proud of myself and be the first in line at the medal shop.... but here i am

i told everyone i knew that i was ttc in oct. and now its jan they ask if ive been lucky... der no.. i would of told them...

i am using fertility friend to chart my temp knicker checking and using opks but i am a self confessed control freak.

Joy27 · 13/01/2009 14:21

Hello, I'm 28 and my boyfriend and I are ttc#1. Had a mc last July, so this is cycle 6 for us since then. After getting pg so quickly after coming off pill in May (within 2 weeks I reckon!) am not feeling a bit frustrated at lack of second BFP. I'm currently on CD4.

I haven't turned to temping and all that malarkey- just watching cycle days and cm, and am drinking grapefruit juice because, well, it's a dead easy thing to do. Looked on Fertility Friend the other day and was horrified by amount of homework and obsession required- I'd rather steer clear of that sort of thing unless things get desperate. It's supposed to be an enjoyable experience after all!

I was the first of my group to start trying- however, as have just neurotically posted on another thread, two of my girlfriends are about to start and I am feeling very worried about it, for crazy reasons that shouldn't mean a thing: will be jealous/feel cheated if they get pg first; will worry that other friends will think we've "copied" if we then get pg afterwards. Have only told 2-3 of closest friends about ttc whereas these other pals are likely to be quite open about it.

Am lunatic, clearly.

irishmumwannabe · 13/01/2009 13:18

I'm the first of my group and not telling anyone but my very best friend (not even telling family). That said I am also the oldest of my group (only be a few months) , and was the first to get married as well.

Welcome to MN AngelFairy - everyone on here is lovely and really helpful adn supportive. As Devil said the ttc monthly threads are good - but it's nice to have a few places to chat on if one or teh other is quiet.

(waves at bubblebell)

AngelFairy · 13/01/2009 13:01

Hello ladies...
I am also 28 and ttc#1.
My bf and I decided to try last month, let's see!
I became a member today, so I'm new to all this, but I wish you all the best of luck!
Sending you all some pregnancy angels x

dancingqueeen · 13/01/2009 11:53

do most of you have lots of friends who have babies / are ttc? I'm going to be one of the first out of my close friends to be trying, I know another is starting soon but none of the rest are anywhere near thinkign about babies...

irish i'm also not yet doing charting etc, partly as sounds too complex, but also because obsessed enough already so trying v hard not to think about it too much to begin with (not v successfully I have to say!)

bubblebell1 · 13/01/2009 10:41

hiya!!

im 26 and ttc#3 2nd cycle of trying

DevilsAdvocaat · 13/01/2009 10:35

hello ladies, i'm 26 and ttc no2.
have a look at the ttc and october thread - some lovely ladies on there

good luck to all!

irishmumwannabe · 13/01/2009 10:28

Hi Etcha and dancingqueen I am 28 and ttc#1 as well. Have been trying for about 5 months now but only really properly for about 3 so fingers crossed that it'll happen soon.

Haven't done all the charting, temping, grapefruit drinking etc. but could get to that stage soon enough if nothing happens in the next few months.

(Just to say I usually am on here in work so spell checking isn't the most precise and I apologise in advance for the many typos I will commit)

dancingqueeen · 13/01/2009 02:39

hi, I'll join you, I'm 28 this is my 2nd month of ttc properly (1st month was ill so no 'trying' took place!)
