Have some spotting today, so I think AF is on her way...

nunnie · 28/01/2009 13:29

Oops, sorry maths has never been my strong point.

STOP I should be on the NOV bus!!!

nunnie · 28/01/2009 12:01

Hello Catz, I have just today started my AF, not as heavy as usual, but a period at that.

I am now entering my 17 month of trying.

bubblebell1 · 28/01/2009 11:45

catz not being negative.. dont worry
they were clear blue tests, not the digital 1s just normal +/- ones. after reading the POAS website i think it was just a fluke.. apparantly it can happen. altho it is rather cruel i will buy some first response tests tomorrow and test again fri morn.

Catz · 28/01/2009 10:09

Hi nunnie - AF=Auntie Flo = Period.

How far along are you nunnie?

Bubble I've just realised that my post on your tests sounds a bit negative. I don't think it's possible to have a false positive except in really rare circumstances so it does sound very hopeful but perhaps too early to ensure that you've got enough there each time you test hence the negative?

nunnie · 28/01/2009 09:44

I will join you on that, at evey month till I have one :-D

What is AF? (sorry being thick I think!)

Catz · 28/01/2009 09:42

Bubble, really sorry to hear that the tests aren't being consistent. Which tests are you using? Hope it gets clearer soon. TBH it does sound a bit on the early side but I know how difficult it is to wait!

I don't know how those of you with long/irregular cycles cope. I had a BFN on Monday which was day 27/28 of a usually 28 day cycle. There was no hint of a positive so I'm taking it as a clear negative. No AF yet and if it's not here tomorrow that'll be the longest cycle I've ever had (I'll test then if it's not). Mind you, it is the first cycle since finishing breastfeeding so that might have changed things.

I'm feeling really under the weather and desperate to break into the Lemsip and the wine (this evening not at this precise moment!) but don't want to till AF is here. Last night I was going to the loo every half hour to check! ARGHH I know this is nothing to what lots of you have to dal with. I wonder whether it's possible to hold on to/delay your period when you're TTC because you don't really want it to arrive.

Sorry that's a bit of an essay now but it's nice to vent! Good luck to everyone testing.

eeyore2 · 28/01/2009 09:31

hobnob - good luck trying to keep it together! I hope you don't go completely crazy. Let us know how the test goes.

Bubble, hang on in there! I really hope it was a one-off BFN today.

Hope you are all well. I am feeling so much more positive since my AF arrived. And I'm going away on holiday soon, which should hopefully coincide with the BD stage of the month, so looking forward to a fun filled trip!! My in-laws will be with us for some of the time though so hopefully they won't find the huge stash of OPKs and folic acid I am planning on taking with me!

bubblebell1 · 28/01/2009 08:30

well after my positive test yesterday its now a negative! am on cd25 of what normally would be a 30 day cycle so maybe im still a little early... maybe my cycle hasnt settled from the 68day 1 last time i have a feeling of pressure (sp?) in my lower abdo and the odd twang i am feeling tired and can smell EVERYTHING. i am symptom spottin like mad but im not actually convinced im pregnant.

im sorry that some of you have left i wish you all the best of luck on the Nov thread. i will no doubt be with you by next week.

early it could be a short visit from AF or it could be implantation. the only way to find out is to test! (ive got my fingers crossed for the latter)

good luck to those testing soon and those on the 2ww

Hobnobfanatic · 27/01/2009 22:14

Yes, I'm convinced we're both pg, halfmum! I'm already trying to work out when to tell DP and my AF could arrive tomorrow morning. I really must get a grip! Anyway, goodnight halfmum!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 27/01/2009 22:04

I am a thread killer. Night everyone.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 27/01/2009 21:38

My norks feel bigger and tender and my back is aching! Am I pg too?? Although could only be about 4 days pg!!!! More madness

Hobnobfanatic · 27/01/2009 21:09

Ow, irishmum - that was a hard slap!
Thank you, though, I needed it to come to my senses.
Yes, I have a test - but I think I'll wait till Sat if AF hasn't arrived. DP's not around until the weekend, so it would be good to have him on hand ? if only for some RL slaps! Or I might test Fri and then show him the test Sat. OR I might just give in and do it now!

Hobnobfanatic · 27/01/2009 21:05

Fingers crossed earlynite - worth testing again in a week?

Cheerio to all those going to the Nov thread - good luck. Might see you there; if not, I'll keep lurking to see you all get the BFPs.

irishmumwannabe · 27/01/2009 21:04

hobnob consider yourself slapped.

But have you got a test for tomorrow just in case? I'm a little excited for you so probably not the best person to keep you sane!

irishmumwannabe · 27/01/2009 21:02

Ooh 8erlynite* that could be (whispers) implantation. If you got a BFN though not really sure - maybe wait for the weekend and test again so you can make sure it's BFN cos sometimes people have tested false negative.

Fingers crossed for you

Hobnobfanatic · 27/01/2009 21:01

I need to keep sane. I am convinced I'm pg. Feel nauseous, norks feel bigger/more tender, and I just feel pg!

I've rechecked the dates of my AFs over the last eight months (yes, I really have nothing better to do), and I seem to be on a 26/27 cycle, not 28. So... as of tomorrow, I'll be late!

I am sure I'm pg, but I'm terrified to test in case I am or I'm not! I'll be terrified either way! All those 'how on earth will I cope with a baby when I'm already so busy with work and my DD' thoughts are coming back!

Anyone around to administer some much-needed sanity and give me a slap?

lovelylullaby · 27/01/2009 20:56

Awwh, I'm gonna miss hearing about you guys who are leaving us for November, but may well see you over there. All the best for now!!

FifiOK · 27/01/2009 20:55

I've taken myself off the list too now. Well done to all those BFPs & thanks to everyone for your support over the last few weeks. XXX

Hi Everyone

I'm still here. So happy for all the newly pregnant ladies - congratulations

Well I am on the 2ww after the in-laws visit last weekend. There was no bd on the airbed because the cats must hae punctured it so we bd'd Thursday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I'm hoping that's enough. We might keep it up for another fe days just in case.

SOrry if I've missed anyone's news - hope you are all keeping well -

girl love the cat story might try that with mine.

eeyore brilliant news now you can go back to ttc properly.

Good luck everyone

earlynite · 27/01/2009 20:50

Lovelylullaby I have been informed that it can take anywhere from 7 to 12 days for an egg to implant in the uterus and only then does the body start to give out HGC.

However, last time it happened I was 2 days overdue and only got a very very faint post line on a preg test, so it really depends on firstly whether I am actually pregers and if so where the eggs ended up?

My doctor has suggested I go in to see him tomorrow for a blood test but still think it's too early!

thecatisdecorating · 27/01/2009 20:29

Oh congrats all the pg ladies! Good luck for the next few months!

lovelylullaby · 27/01/2009 20:17

That's interesting Ralphie, I'm kinda thinking things are afoot here too as yesterday and today, i've been feeling teeny tiny twinges in my reproductive area. I'm sure this weekend was my 72 hours to conceive, but surely i wouldn't feel things happening so soon?

Sorry to hear you are worrying so, how long before you can take a test that should pick up on HGC levels?
