Hi I'm new to MN and am ttc #2. DD1 was a pleasant surprise but DD2 is completely planned. Got af today (grr) and cycle is 31 days. Only been ttc since xmas but still v deflated when af made unwelcome appearance today. Also have just been diagnosed with mild endometriosis and am O rhesus negative so hoping this isn't going to make #2 too hard? I'm v confused by all the ovulation/fertility calculators on the web as they all suggest different fertile dates - it was so much easier having an "accident"!

FifiOK · 05/01/2009 17:21

Girl Thank you for that. I got a load of cheapie strips so have started using them already but didn't realise you weren't supposed to use them first thing. Since your post have had a look on net and seen they recommend 2.30pm - a little dfficult in the office but OK if I'm working from home. Sorry to hear about your MC sept. Since my MC about 6 people I know well or work with have announced pregnancies so I'm finding it so tough as they are all having 20 week scans which is what I would have been doing if all was OK. I didn't tell any of them what had happened to me as I didn't want anyone speculating about whether I was trying again or why I was trying in the first place !

Fingers crossed for everyone this month - new year, new BFPs, new beans, new stretch marks, new babies - but maybe I'll need some new ways to keep the BDing exciting as DH was struggling with last month's regime

girlwithacurl · 05/01/2009 14:44

I am using the OPK's as well as temping and on EWCM watch. I also use Fertility Friend to help me identify the right time. As I have a long cycle I will start using the OPK's on CD16. Its hard as you're not supposed to test first thing in the morning, and should wait 4 hrs and not drink much... which makes me dehydrated and gives me a headache! but they did identify the right time last month...

I am the same as you fifi MC sept and thought last month was going to be the one, christmas and all that... concentrating on this month now, but trying not to get obsessed or let it get me down is hard.

FifiOK · 05/01/2009 14:09

It's so hard not to obsess when you want things to work so much. I feel like I have to do everything possible to maximise my chances. This time round, I am using some of those ovulation sticks to hopefully reassure myself I am ovulating. Has anyone else used these ? Would be grateful for any hints & tips.

Thanks for your kind words Bubble

bubblebell1 · 05/01/2009 13:45

Hello to idream girlwith and fifi

Sorry to hear of your loss fifi . fingers crossed we all get lucky this month.

idream i too am trying not to get carried away with this ttc lark. and failing miserably. i think that temping isnt too bad it only tells you that you have ovulated not that you will. iykwim?? but i think aswell its nice to know your body coz i am hoping to use the knowledge i gather while ttc for contraceptive purposes when i need to.

its ds2's birthday at the beg of feb so i am goin to throw myself into organising that and try to think of other things.

babydust to all

Hi all, think it is time to make my way over here from the Sept thread. Worked out my dates this morning and if we get lucky this month I would be due 1st October.

DP is working away most of this week but will be home on Wed night and Fri night (will BD day 11, day 14 and day 16) and I have my fingers crossed that will work out timing wise IYKWIM. DP works away quite a bit so I keep thinking that maybe I should try temp/OPK sticks to figure out when I usually ovulate. On the other hand this is only our second month ttc and I don't want to become obsessive. Any thoughts???

Good luck and baby dust to everyone.

I'm on the September thread but just worked out my dates and if I get lucky this month I'd be due 6th October, (fingers crossed for everyone) can I join you and we'll all go through this together. I've bought some ovulation test things from ebay so I'll be using those this month. My cycle is between 28 - 34 days, my DH goes away for 2 weeks on 21st of this month so hopefully we can get in loads of bd'ing before he goes.

Hello, can I join too please?
Sorry 1LP. . Hope this is your month.

I've been TTC DC2 since July '08 (so on cycle 7). Cycles are a bit unpredictable but tend to be 35 days+.
Am currently on CD18.

Good luck to all and hope this is a lucky thread.

1LittlePrincess · 05/01/2009 00:05

Hi there, may I join you to please?

I have been TTC since Feb last year, fell pregnant but sadly MC in April at 8 weeks. I have been TTC since however have had no luck. Had a break over Nov and Dec as the baby we lost was due early Dec. So may know some of you on here but hopefully most have graduated already.

So since AF arrived today I am back to TTC...Feel more positive. New year New baby! Right?

Good Luck everyone. Hope this cycle is very very lucky for us all. Sprinkling lots and lots of baby dust

1LP x

i know what you mean, they seem to grow out of the newborn stage so quickly - i'm keen to do it again and really enjoy it this time and take it all in. Last time was all a bit overwhelming and you never knew if you were doing it right. I think i'll relax a bit more next time.

earlynite · 04/01/2009 19:00

littlemiss. I am missing the baby stage now. DS is a darling and don't want him to be an only.
