I am I think a little confused by all the abbreviations, and it made me think that perhaps I stumbled across the wrong thread. I am thinking I understand it now, after a nosey...

I have absolutely no idea what cycle I am on/going to be on, length of period, or ovulation times etc! Before I fell pg with DD I was on the pill, but had irratic periods, like a real one then a fake one, then a gap then all over again. Then I had DD, had no periods for about 8 months, then had two, then had the implant, and nought but a rare spotting since.

How on earth do I start the 'knowing' process? How LONG will that take to work out? Is it going to be months?

WizzyWoo · 07/01/2009 23:42

Hi Pavlov I'm still trying to get my head round the whole conception/due thing myself and am relying on others to keep me right! Not sure which thread you should be on but hope nature's kind to you anyway

PavlovtheCat · 07/01/2009 23:02

or. Am I on the wrong one here? Oh just kick me out now...!

PavlovtheCat · 07/01/2009 23:01

OK, so I am tentatively adding my name here, I say tentatively as I have no idea of dates and due when if conceived when. I am a little nervous and also a little excited...

I am not trying yet. I have my implant removed on 16th, then its down to nature to decide (with a little help from us, obviously!). I was told I would be back to my whatever normal fertility levels will be after 4 days. So, would that be October? Or am I looking at November now?

WizzyWoo · 07/01/2009 22:56

Evening all. Is anyone else who's ttc and having to wait until after AF has gone on merry way suffering a bit from insomnia? I don't normally at all (unless caused by DD wailing occasionally or more likely DH's snoring) but this week I'm really struggling to sleep. Thoughts of ttc, what happens once I've had BFP (I hope) and labour keep going round my head (along with Britney Spears' Womanizer song).

I have another burning question about conceiving (honestly, you wouldn't think I'd managed to once before but as she was kinda accidental...) Do you have to lie on the bed with your bum raised on pillows after BDing?

StealthPo09IsHere · 07/01/2009 21:24

Hi MR
You sound like you've been through a lot. keeping my fingers crossed for you.
how long is your cycle?

MensaReject · 07/01/2009 20:20

Hello, i'd like to join please. I'm on cd18 (on Clomid) and ttc number 3. This is our first month on Clomid, we have to self inseminate as dp suffers from delayed ejaculation. Have no idea if i've ovulated yet but we have done the deed on cd 7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14 and 15. The last few days dp hasn't managed, but i've had pains in my right side so think we may have missed the crucial days. This is our 7th month of trying, i think we have less chance cause of the way we do it unfortunately.

StealthPo09IsHere · 07/01/2009 20:08

dancingqueeen · 07/01/2009 13:50

thanks for the story Homeinthesun... gives me hope it'll all work out some how

mosschops30 · 07/01/2009 13:05

Oh I thought you were trying to concieve this cycle, as I am cd31 I knew that if I am pg would be a september baby so thought you might me too.

Good luck ttc this month

Ralphie0956 · 07/01/2009 13:03

Mosschops I am on the right thread (I think) I'm due my AF today sometime as I know I'm not pregnant this month.
So will ov sometime within the next 16 days and hence if pregnant would have a Oct Baby?

Someone please clarify if i'm right I'm starting to doubt myself

Anyway, all the horror stories under the sun couldn't stop me from wanting to have a baby and i'm sure as you all say if it was that bad no one would have kids

DevilsAdvocaat · 07/01/2009 12:43

i had a second degree tear with ds and i didn't feel it! lucky me. i had g and a and a shot of pethidene.

it did hurt having the stitches but i used gas and air again which helped. the stitches healed quickly and i didn't find them too painful afterwards.

i second warm water whilst you are peeing, it really does help.

HomeintheSun · 07/01/2009 12:27

Hi dancingqueen when we lived in the uk my dh had to stay at work and be on call for a weeks at a time, every five weeks or so, I remember one weekend he was suppose to stay there and he came home on the friday and Saturday night the result of that was DS. I hope I ovulate before the 21st of this month because DH has to go to the uk on a course for a few weeks.

This month I will be watching out for EWCM, and I have ov sticks and keeping my fingers crossed.

theboob · 07/01/2009 12:14

i got pregnant on the pill with ds1,after that i have always had the implant and conceived in the first month after removel with DD and DS2 ,but now i have said that it wont happen
but i got AF a few days after removel so that is a good sign ,i hope everybodys cycle settles down soon

i just wondered if any body else has an enlargred overy? if so does this effect ovulation ,when i was 16 i used to bled between pill cycles really heavy they scaned me and thought i had a cyst ,after a laparoscopy it turns out i have a suger sized overy

it's just i feel really really strange "different" but i'm only on cd 14 but i just feel strange and wondered if my big O could release early ......i sometimes have a second AF after another but not every month ,i'm off to google

(I am turning obsessed already and It's only day 14 )

eeyore2 · 07/01/2009 11:55

Thanks Bubble and Littlemiss, it's great to know I'm not the only one. I wish I'd come off the pill while I was waiting TTC now, but of course you don't really think about these things, do you.

bubblebell1 · 07/01/2009 11:44

god! its just our current account. i thought it was covered!! i will have to check with them.

eeyore this is my first period since coming off the pill in oct! i hope things are sorted soon. i guess its pot luck. when i came off i was bombarded with stories of women concieving in the first month.. its taken me 3 months and 1 cycle and still waiting....

OP posts:
littlemiss26 · 07/01/2009 11:32

Bubble no they didn't pay it back - apparently they don't have to!!! which is why people should take out card protection plans or something to cover themselves against it happening to them (she says, not actually having one of her own!)

eeyore when i came off the pill it took 8 months!! and i never got a period i got pregnant on the first ovulation. My doctor said its really common for people to take up to a year to get back to normal after taking the pill - i'm never going near it again if it screws me up that badly

as for ovulation, i think my problem is i don't have a 'normal' i've only had two real periods in the last decade (due to pill, pregnancy and breastfeeding) and those two were 23 days and 45 days, so i have absolutely no idea what my body is doing - its a nightmare. So which i was a regular 28/30 days person like the rest of you

bubblebell1 · 07/01/2009 11:25

littlemiss thats awful! did the bank pay it back?

i did ov tests a few weeks back when i didnt know where i was in my cycle and had about 3 with faint pos results. i did 1 on day af arrived and it was clear... they r very confusing... but i suppose if u get a +ive and ewcm u could say u ov'd.
