Thanks for info latestarter2009! I cannot agree to wait too long. I have no idea when AF is actually due, as I had implant out, but I am sure I know when I ov'd so going on that, I was due AF at the weekend!
Pedal - how about tomorrow or Thursday? That shows serious patience doesn't it? I am convinced AF is imminent though, all the signs are there...Funny about the men isn't it? I think DH thinks trying for a baby is checking ov (which I am just not announcing loudly!), only having sex with aim of it making a baby - he does not link the whole having sex/baby thing anyway! Bless him! He did say since - I would not be having sex with you if I did not want a baby - er, yeah you would, your a bloke!

latestarter2009 · 10/02/2009 11:06

thanks totalmisfit i knew someone here would understand! though I feel like a whiney cow as I know that others have been at it for a lot longer and remain positive

my advice pavlov and pedalmonster is DONT test! i got sucked into the thinking that some of the tests can pick up days before AF and also that it is possible from 8 DPO, but statistically it is very unlikely and you get in this mad headspace. Have a look on fertilityfriend.com at the FAQs in the education centre - testing for pregnancy - when to take a hpt. If you look at the pregnancy study (from FF charts), it gives you stats on positive hpts - i was quite shocked! The average for positive tests is 0.5 days away from AF; ie on average 13.6 dpo; only 10% of tests are positive at 10 dpo.

But what do they know - especially when the pee stick is calling to you

the best of luck hopeforbundleofjoy

hopeforbundleofjoy · 09/02/2009 20:54

heya im on cd10 of cycle 1 with clomid after 2 1/2 years of ttc lots of BD this week/ weekend!

pedalmonster · 09/02/2009 20:36

pavlov we can be partners in crime!!! Thing is, on the clear blue digital thing it has a conception indicator, and has categories 1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks 3 + weeks (i think...) so I'm thinking it MUST be able to pick up now (5 days before AF due) AND first response also says it can be used 5 days before....
OH the torture!!
Should we do it on the same day? Tomorrow? or Wed? would prefer to do it before weekend due to Valentines day...
Also had a brief chat with DH who also said that technically we are not TTC...although we had agreed last year to start TTC from Jan. What convenient memories these men seem to have.

totalmisfit · 09/02/2009 20:08

latestarter parts of your post could have been written by me- i'm nearing the end of the 2ww and surprising myself with how little patience i have. The urge to test keeps gnawing away but the lovely posters on here have convinced me to hang on in there till af is at least slightly late. it's a weird yo-yo sensation isn't it? must be even harder for you after MC, too.

pavlov - ditto your symptoms.. have had slight nausea on and off for a couple of days now and my boobs when i take of my bra are like a couple of lead weights - but like you say, could just be AF...

smallone glad you're still on the thread.. the spotting must be really annoying/baffling... hope you're out of limbo and officially up the duff soon!

thanks forces - optimistic is a good way of putting it! must be extra tough for you trying to fit all that BDing in when you get some time with DH.

latestarter2009 · 09/02/2009 18:48

hey everyone...AF commiserations

this is TTC#1 for me and it's driving me nuts, the 2ww feels like months and the idea that 50% of your month every month is spent on the 2ww is freaking me out a bit.

i'm hoping my willpower will get as good as some of you guys, i'm only on cd25, but i've done TWO tests already even though I know it's too early! i think it's partly the miscarriage, it just suddenly gets in my head and i have to test NOW...i swing from being convinced that i'm pregnant and it's all going to work out well and then that i'm not pg, will never get pg and will lose the plot while i'm trying

being a career girl was easier than this!

pavlovthecat · 09/02/2009 17:42

DH does not want me to test yet. He said 'we are not actually trying for a baby though are we, we are just, not using contraception, see what happens' Er, its a bit late to have doubts DH of mine! I laughed at him, asked him what stopping contraception was if not trying for a baby, and did he not recall the conversations we have had at all...he was very coy and said that he would prefer to know when I was about 6 weeks.... again. I cant wait another 3 weeks to test!!! And tbh, if not AF by then, I would already know!

I am just so itching to know. And I am also feeling tearful, bloated and annoyed, bit nauseous, which concerns me as quite like pms, but I normally get backache/headache/cloudy head, and have none of that with it...DH has the car, or else I would go buy one right now!

bubblebell1 · 09/02/2009 14:57

Hey all!

joy got her AF today she is on the twenties thread too

still nothing for me to report.

Smallone your signs sound promising. i envy your willpower.. i would of cracked and tested by now

sorry to those of you who have met with AF and good luck to those still on the 2ww

To save myself from going nuts while dd watches balamory, I thought I'd update the list. I think Joy27 might be in the wrong place, I'm pretty sure she's only a day or two ahead of me, has anyone heard anything from her?

smallone · 09/02/2009 09:01

Morning, thanks for messages, still no AF. Why is she taunting me? There was more brown tinged cm yesterday but only once when wiping, and now there is nothing again. I'm convinced this is natures cruel way of getting my hopes up so I'm not going to test. Good luck everyone else.

pavlovthecat · 08/02/2009 22:23

Pedal - shall we do it together? I said I would not, but I am now itching...I am feeling nauseas, and my boobs hurt, but I am thinking that firstly it is too soon for morning sickness, secondly, they may well be a symptom of imminent AF, and thirdly I am likely making myself have symptoms. I cannot be that quick. Really . I am just thinking, oh, its not that much money to waste if not...I would be 3 weeks if I am, is that too soon to show on a test?

pedalmonster · 08/02/2009 20:45

I know I shouldn't, but how soon can I realistically test? UCL 28 / 29 and I am now cd22. I have got First Response and also the clear blue digital POAS but teetering on the balance between trying not to waste them and wanting to know.... what am I talking about - you KNOW EXACTLY what I mean.
stupid to sell them only in packs of 2... should sell them in packs of at least 5. Has anyone worked out how much they have spent?I try to sneak them into a tesco shop at the exclusion of more nutritious options....

pavlovthecat · 08/02/2009 17:00

smallone - ooooh...nurse, and all literature states that normal fertility resumes within 4 days, and it is not unusual for an egg to be released almost immediately. So, ovulation would be 8th day after removal so assuming that it would be a normal ovulation... I am 'pretty' sure I did ovulate the weekend I think I did, which would be, doing the maths - 23rd Jan, soooo I am due on...er...today (gets excited, panicky, hopeful, worried!). What is FMU btw? I will wait til the end of the week before testing.

Thanks....I will keep you posted, and will keep fingers crossed for everyone else waiting to hear for this month

ForcesSweetheart · 08/02/2009 16:31

oh I will be lovely. That's one of the things that bothered me about the BDing in the singlies block - having to get upright straight after and sit in the car for nearly 2 hours imagining the poor wee swimmers struggling against gravity!

lovelylullaby · 08/02/2009 15:42

Sounds like you've got a busy week planned forces .

After you've BD'd Try and stay lying down for half an hour with a pillow under your pelvis to help those little swimmers on their way.

ForcesSweetheart · 08/02/2009 14:29

Wishing, crossing everything for you that you get a nice surprise and find it wasn't the witch after all.

Oooh lovelylullaby, a wee bit of spotting then nothing else? That sounds positive!

misfit I know how you feel. DD turned three last month and she's desperate for a baby sister - I get so frustrated that it hasn't happened yet. I wasn't supposed to start trying for another baby til I was a year out from my weight loss surgery (which would have been 3 weeks ago) but couldn't wait so started 5 months ago! We too assumed that knowing when I ov etc it would be sooo easy to just get pregnant straight away this time, don't think of it as arrogance so much as optimism, and that's a good thing.

smallone hope everything goes well for your mate, and that the spotting is a good sign. Keep us updated!

Sorry to hear you're out for this month Jellyfish. Good luck for next cycle. I go to bed really late, usually don't sleep til around 2am or after, and take my temp at 8.30 and it seems to be reliable.

pavlov if you think you ov'd 22nd Jan I'd be testing now. Good luck!

DH's lift back to Blandford is heading back down there early afternoon today so we've decided I'll do without the car for a couple of days so DH can drive himself down to Blandford later tonight (getting another BD in as soon as DD is in bed!). He's probably got Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning off so he's going to drive home Tuesday afternoon and stay over then I'll drive him back down Wednesday morning and bring the car home with me. That'll mean if I ov on Thursday as ovusoft predicts we'll have got at least 3 (possibly 4 depending how knackered we are by Wednesday morning!) BDs in before the big O. He thought he was gonna take his sample to the hospital this week but with all this BDing he won't be able to as they want him to abstain for at least 2 days prior to sample. He'll just have to do it next week when I don't need his swimmers!

Here's todays list. Have kept you on smallone just in case it was just spotting.

lovelylullaby · 08/02/2009 14:08

At least another week and a half. I'm not really sure when AF should be here cos i have erratic cycles so want to make sure i've given her a good 50 days. Am content with symptom spotting for now!

JumpingJellyfish · 08/02/2009 13:42

lovely sounds very, very promising! When are you planning to test?

smallone I too never, ever spotted pre-AF until these past few months of TTC, and it has had me most confused (and hopeful at times). I'm really hoping for you it's a good sign and "proper" AF doesn't come! Spotting for me often starts 3 days before full-flow- I have 1 or 2 days of brown discharge, then usually a day of nothing at all (which gets my hopes up...) and then suddenly AF comes in full red flow!

I did bleed a tiny bit in the first trimester with DD around 8 weeks when my second missed period would have been due, but luckily it was only "old" /brown blood. So I think your body can still "try" to have a period even when pregnant, but it shouldn't be fresh/red blood.

Keeping fingers crossed for you all!

lovelylullaby · 08/02/2009 13:35

Don't loose hope yet small one Maybe the cramps are cells whizzing around inside and multiplying? I had a teeny spot of blood and a tiny blood clot on weds and then cramps the last few days but no AF yet. I never get cramps that are there all the time (though admittedly they are only tiny) so i'm hoping the cramps mean there's lots going on inside.

smallone · 08/02/2009 13:26

Last night there was a tiny bit of brown blood, I only noticed it because of scrutinising loo paper but today there is nothing, I've never had spotting pre AF before, but I'm not holding out any hope of implantation coz I've got all the usual cramps so I reckon AF will start by tomorrow am. Why is it as soon as you start ttc, you get all sorts of variations that you never had before? Anyway, as I'm in limbo I thought I'd hover on the fence between both boards.

smallone · 08/02/2009 13:20

Still here! AF playing tricks on me the wiley witch!

Pavlov, if you can assume that you have an average LP of 14 days then you just add 14 days to when you think you ov'd, and that would be when you AF should come, if you go 2 or 3 days past that then it wouldn't be unreasonable to do a test, but don't know how much the implant would affect things, so this might not be reliable on this cycle. I reckon you could get away with testing tomorrow with FMU

pavlovthecat · 08/02/2009 10:42

(i say this month, I mean this cycle

pavlovthecat · 08/02/2009 10:40

Can I ask a question for all those still here?

How long until I can do pg test?

I had implant taken out this month and no AF yet so cannot go on that for sure, but going on the whole ovulation etc, I beleive I ovulated around the 22nd? Jan, or so, so think I am not quite due my AF yet, possibly due in next day or two? Given that we ttc this month, on a vague, you never know...when would I be able to accurately test? Oh I am sooooo green about this!

totalmisfit · 07/02/2009 20:36

smallone, jumping so sorry to hear this month isn't your month. Thank you both for your kind words and i shall have my fingers crossed for you both for november xx

lovely i know what you mean about thinking about it every 10 minutes... i dread to think what i'll be like when i finally do get that BFP!
