Hi everyone
may I join you, please? We've been TTC'ing for 14 months, have tried OPKs at the begininning, BBT in the middle, nothing recently and this cycle I'm on grapefruit juice and cough mixture, while DH ahs been taking zinc (for other reasons, then we discovered it might help fertility, which is a bonus). Am also minded to try OPKs again, but it has been so long I have forgotten what one is meant to do with them (in any event, I suspect we'd got it wrong last year). Any suggestions gratefully received....

pinkie08 · 11/12/2008 11:07

Thats great news beckyMcg and those next 4 weeks will go really quickly for you.

mummy2 thats similar to what my DH is taking and i just taking pregnancare conception and grapefruit juice

BeckyMcG · 10/12/2008 22:15

Hey girls....apologies for rubbish posting - have been forced to earn my money at work! Welcome mummy2 and good luck - with the TTC and the relaxed approach.
Cindy - War in the Womb was a more serious documentary than expected - i.e. interesting but quite dry. The main points were about how mother and foetus (& then baby) are both a well tuned machine balancing needs but also how they are actually 'at war' right from the very moment of conception. It reinforced what we all know that m/c's occur because the bean isn't viable and not really down to external factors etc. Also re-inforced diet and how important when you're pregnant to make sure baby is getting right nutrients. That really make me think as while I haven't been feeling sick I have been off my food (which is unlike me!) and hadn't really eaten (just picked) for over a week. I've lost over 7lbs which while naturally I'm pleased about however started worrying I wasn't feeding my bean. I made myself eat a bagel the following morning and have been drinking milk and taking my vitamins religiously. I'm glad to say I'm back on food a bit more now
ANYWAY - the best news of all has been that I went for the private 8 week scan on Monday night - remember the one I decided to book to ease piece of mind. There the bean was on screen.........our bean on screen - heart beating away, right size, right place. First hurdle passed - only another 4 weeks to go till the magic '12'. Everything is crossed!!!!

mummy2olivia · 10/12/2008 21:00

Infertility supplement plan

This is the vitamin plan that me and DH are following if anyone wants a look. x tis very interesting.

iggypiggy · 10/12/2008 20:32

OOh Yay for you sn0wflake am all pleased.

c1ndy and villagemum just waiting for sticks to arrive now - all impatient (story of my life...) am hoping they will arrive soon as am CD5 now and want to start this month

hello mummy2 am liking your attitude too -especially as I need to watch myself re: obsessing about things...

smileycat am getting quite into FF.. might sign up properly when free trial ends.. I like seeing it all written down.

Big hello to everyone else on here too xx

BoosieBoo · 10/12/2008 19:41

Hi everyone,
Managed to find you all, love the new thread title!

Firstly wanted to say how sorry I am about your m/c Ilove. Thinking of you and sending lots of hugs. Take good care of yourself and indulge in whatever you fancy, be it chocolate, shopping or wine - it worked for me x

Welcome to mummy2olivia. funtime lol at bunnies - unfortunately have now reverted to pandas, I'm just soooo tired. Nausea is just starting to kick in properly too. Not that I'm complaining, in a way it's kinda reasurring, but ick! Have been staring balefully at a (now cold) toasted cheese sandwich for an hour...

Ooh, almost forgot, huge congrats to snowflake! Fabulous news xx

mummy2olivia · 10/12/2008 18:39

Oh god- glad you all like my attitude!! If I see anyone getting obsessed and unreasonable I will be the voice of reason

I dont want to see anyone putting things on hold, not buying clothes or not booking holidays- otherwise you just end up pale, miserable and scruffy!!

Am fully prepared to not ovulate this month TBH- normally ov around day 15/16. But its first month off pill, its day 13 now and I have a really grim water infection from having my lap done. Think the poor little egg may give this month a miss. Gonna keep having SEX (not bd) with DH and keep an eye on OPK (did one yesterday and tonight and its completely blank!) but try to get some rest and see what happens. Need to let myself recover ready for a healthy pregnancy

Oh and congrats Snowflake!! x

love to all

xxx

smileycat · 10/12/2008 13:48

Fantastic news Snowflake it always gives me a boost when I hear of a new bfp, makes me think that lots of ladies are getting pregnant so my turn must be soon

Don't go Heeby you are our lucky mascot, no one is going to kick you off

My DH is really up for it this month, hes planned the bding sessions already, I'm secretly impressed, he said that this is the month & he's going to give it everything to make sure it happens...god I wish it was that easy but so happy that he is very enthusiastic

queenie1 · 10/12/2008 13:02

Just had a quick read through and wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS SNOWFLAKE!!! Amazing news.

Good to hear things are going so well Heeby

Have just popped out from the office to go shopping and have bought myself new boots and tight black jeans. Hopefully I won't be able to wear them for that long...but for now I'm taking the mummy2olivia attitude and in my case not putting clothes shopping on hold!! Off to another xmas party too tomorrow night which should be lots of fun.

Hope you are all well.

xx

WanabeMum · 10/12/2008 12:21

Hi ladies,

I'm back from my holiday and sssoo much has happened on here!
Glad to hear you are well and happy Heeby, bet you look lovelt with your pot belly!

Congratulations Snowflake on your BFP, it must be so exciting for you!

So sorry to hear your news Ilove, can't imagine how you feel. Big hugs!!!

Hey Jools loving the name change! You're bound to be feeling a little desperate and lost after what you have been through. As patronising as this sounds try and look for the positives, your DH is probably just as heartbroken as you and men are crap at expressing their emotions so they tend to say nothing instead (at least mine does!). Keep smiling honey xx

Well I've been away for 2 weeks and we BD'd when we could. Didn't stick to the DP this time as was really impossible to tell when i OV'd so we just BD'd more the second week! I'm now officially in the dreaded 2ww but trying not to be hopeful as not really conviced. We will just have to wait and see.

Anyone else testing soon?

Hope all you other ladies I haven't mentioned are well, and wlecome to our newbies!
Fab thread name by the way C1ndy!

VillageMum · 10/12/2008 12:16

Snowflake, that's FANTASTIC!!

iggypiggy, good for you for getting the OPKs - I found them a pain to have to use at first, but once you get the hang of them it's REALLY reassuring to get that +ve result and to know when ov is.

Heeby, great that you're feeling so well and 'showing' already! How many weeks are you now?

Cindy, Pezzina, how are things?

Arghhh this 2WW is getting to me and I'm not even halfway through yet!

Heebychick · 10/12/2008 12:05

Hi ladies,

It has taken me ages to catch up - what with all the bubbly flowing and positive vibes it's hard to see straight for a t-totaller like i am now!!!

So glad to hear your news snowflake how are you feeling? apart from sickness??

Welcome to all the newbies, mummy2O i have seen your threads elsewhere and really hope that this thread is lucky for you like it was for me.

I am feeling ok, the nausea has gone so far (i was brave and took my bands off today and so far feel ok!!) so of course i am elated and worried too, but then i remember it not lasting long with DD so will try not to think negative thoughts.

I have a pop belly already and have had to tell some people because it looks obvious!

So lovely to still be with you guys, please just kick me off if you have had enough of me!

x

funtimewincies · 10/12/2008 11:40

Congratulations Sn0wflake . Fab news!

Hi and hugs to Jools . Come and humbug whenever you like, my martini bottle is always open .

Mmmm, must get myself a festive name too.

pinkie08 · 10/12/2008 11:30

Amazing snowflake lets hope its the first of many xmas BFPs

wasabipeanut · 10/12/2008 11:21

Oh congratulations snowflake - Hooray for another BFP.

Pezzina · 10/12/2008 11:19

Congratulations sn0wflake ? such good news and a lovely Christmas pressie .

Jools ? big hugs sweetie. It must be frustrating waiting for your cycle to get back to what you recognise. I hope it will get back to normal soon. Just keep BDing for fun ? don?t associate it with TTC ? you never know, you might OV and not realise.

I know my DH gets a bit tired of BDing if I mention TTC ? but he never complains if I keep it fun and ?spontaneous?. Little does he know that sometimes even the ?spontaneous? times are planned down to the millisecond ? but as long as he doesn?t think its all about TTC then he?s happy. It may be devious but, hey ? I?m a woman!

Hi Mummy2 ? welcome to our lovely thread ? I know you will be very happy here.

Yellowflowers ? I?m on CD 17. Had a slight temp dip this morning which could mean I will OV tomorrow. Managed to BD this morning ? will jump on DH tonight and then see what my temp does tomorrow morning.

Wasabi ? I have still managed to resist the OPK?s even though I have one left from last month. It has definitely helped me to relax a little more.

bubblebell1 · 10/12/2008 11:14

Congratulations snowflake im soo pleased for you xxx

yellowflowers · 10/12/2008 10:59

Hi jools - love the namechange!
Greatnews sn0wflake - wow, so excited. please stick around and tell us how it's going though. Wooohooo.
Also waves to wasabi
Day 15 today - no sign of ovulation. Hoping to BD tonight and tomorrow though.
C1ndy - if your computer is compatible you can just click here baby programme and then press play. I've still not watched it yet.

JingleJools · 10/12/2008 10:53

Hello everyone

I haven't been on for a while as I have nothing to report at all, but have been lurking

FAB FAB news Snowflake

Welcome to all our new GFJ addicts and sorry to hear your news Ilove I really hope you get some answers soon

Well, if you count a miscarriage as CD1, then AF would have been due on Monday but absolutely no sign and I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate as I didn't get the bloating and sore boobs that follow. Absolutely no chance I could be PG so this must be simply a messed up cycle after miscarriage.

I keep checking CM, drinking GFJ and hoping I may have a fertile window before Christmas but really don't know what to expect. For those of you with experience of MC, when did your AF return ?

DP is currently refusing to talk about TTC aswell Feeling a bit humbug about Christmas

Sn0wflake · 10/12/2008 10:44

Hi all. I like your outlook Mummy2. Your DH sounds absoluetly wonderful.

Well I tested last night after no simptoms at all, and then being convinced my AF was coming on, and then getting very slight nausea on day 28 - and the cheapie was positive. I was really suprised - I thought the nausea was in my head. Then used a clearblue and same thing.

I drank and exercised in the 2WW. I am very shocked.

New thread - woohoo!

Firslt, Ilove - I was so sorry to read your news. Thinking of you and sending you lots of virtual chocolate and wine.

mummytoolivia - welcome to the grapefruit massive! You sound like you have been there and have a great attitude which I will certainly benefit from you sharing. Your dh sounds lovely. I have my obsessive moments and need talking down sometimes.

Inspired by Pezzina I am also not OPKing next month. By and large I know pretty much when I ov anyway. I'm fed up with the obsessing so wilk just enjoy jumping on dh lots over Xmas for the fun of it.

It was dh and I's anniverary on Monday so we packed ds off to his grandparents for the night and spent the night at a really lovely country hotel. Suffice to say we had a very nice time indeed and it just made me remember how lovely it was to bd for lust and love rather than having ttcing always in the mind.

Have a lovely day everyone x

C1NDY · 10/12/2008 10:33

VillageMum
The test was good, but it was expensive. So if you don?t think you have problems then don?t purchase one just for the sake of it. I just don?t have any patience!!!

Iggypiggy I love the OPK sticks and goush it is an obsession. I am going to buy cheap ones on the internet, someone told me to go to Amazon? Also, just wanted to add when I had my first DD I did not do anything but knew my cycle? I counted 5 days from my last day of period and bd an then missed a day and then did a day until day 14 and then had one last try ? I got pg the first time around. But I am sticking to the OPK and doing the DP as it is the same sort of method? and there is something about the stick going pink and positive that gives me a high! Hehehe! I am sooooooooo addicted rite?? :0)

Yellowflowers can I watch it on my computer? Do I go to bbciplayer??? Sorry for being dim? IT really is not my thing!!

Mummy2olivia Welcome. Goush you seem to have gone through awfully a lot? we are here to listen and support you. I had a MC in Sept and have one DD aged 2? so have been trying since October, not long but long enough. Can you give me the website to Marilyn Glenville ?natural solutions to infertility? vitamin plan ? I would love to have a read. Your last note made me cry a little? here?s wishing everything goes well with you. This is a lucky thread? here?s a (hug) and some baby dust coming your way ~~~~ Be as deep as you like.

pinkie08 · 10/12/2008 10:16

Wouldnt that be lovely smiley

I'm with you on that attitude queenie my dd was conceived xmas hols and when born they had barely any space in hospital due to september being their busy month

Mummy2 i think you are very lucky to have such a supportive DH my exDH was not so supportive and it was horrendous

Lots of love to all

smileycat · 10/12/2008 06:57

Hi Pinkie apart from last month my cycles have been around 25/26 days, then last month it was 28 days so I've put down 31st which works out to be 28 days that way if AF hasn't arrived I will def be late for 25/26 day one & due 31st for a 28 day AF
