My OPK not gone positive yet... should be soon as should ov on Thurs / Fri this week...

Well done for starting the running c1ndy I started doing much more regular exercise in July this year and the difference in how I feel is amazing - highly recommend it

wasabipeanut · 17/12/2008 09:44

Hi everyone, thank you for all your lovely messages - I feel really guilty for deserting you all for a few days!

Well AF has yet to make an appearance but I have started spotting a bit this morning which is usually the start of AF so it looks like I'm out for this month. I have managed to avoid testing (I exhausted my stash last month!)and it looks like I would have got a BFN anyway. I haven't had any symptoms either - not even my usual "imagined" ones.

I feel guilty because you all got hopeful on my behalf! I must admit on the way to work this morning I was having little dreams about telling dh by wrapping up a test or something but its not to be this time. Hey ho. At least I'll be able to celebrate Christmas in style

Wanabe - sorry you're out this month too but its great that you are feeling positive. So am I as a matter of fact!

Yellow and Pinkie I am in awe of your shagging schedules! If at least one of you doesn't get a BFP this month I'll eat a whole batch of OPK's.

Jools - I really hope this turns out to be a positive for you. I have heard that straigt after an mc can be a good time to concieve because your hormone levels are so high.

As Wincies says we seem to have falled into 2 groups so I now wish lots of luck and babydust (and indeed sanity) to those commencing the 2WW! xx

C1NDY · 17/12/2008 08:39

Broodzilla Are you bd when your OPK go positive... you can bd beforehand. It's healthier for the male so that you get a fresh supply (TMi!!). Are you charting your cycle with your fertile days? If not go to www.fertilityfriend.com, its a very useful tool.

Hi all,

I have two more days of bding and that will be a wrap for me. Have only managed to bd on CD 8, 10, 12, 15 and hopefully bd tonight again and then CD 16 for the last dance of the month! NOt sure that we have done enough but I remember the first time we tried we only bd three times and I fell pg so fingers and toes crossed!

To keep me occupied I have started to run... it was a difficult run yesterday... I am new to exercise and need to lose 3 stones, so I am glad that I am doing something positive whilst I wait.

Smileycat glad everything is now fine. It may be from too much bd, are you trying preseed? its very good

queenie1 · 16/12/2008 21:56

just wanted to 'check in' and say hi.

I've been having a manically busy few days at work and haven't been able to keep up with all the posting.

Like wincies, I wanted to say good luck to the current BDers (which includes me, though no EWCM to speak of as yet which is very odd for me...) and, of course, best of luck to those who are coming to the end of the 2WW.

And wincies and everyone else, DO keep symptom spotting! We all do it so we may as well share our madness and obsessions. (And I always love looking back at what people who end up with BFPs had to say about their symptoms (or lack of). Gives me something to look back on when I'm in the midst of 2WW agony...)

xx

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 16/12/2008 19:18

Good luck to all those bd'ing at the mo, it seems like we've fallen into 2 groups, 2 weeks apart !

Well, add serious windy-pops to the mix and I'm now really becoming unglued .

(mutters mantra whilst rocking gently - I must not obsessively symptom spot, I must not obsessively symptom spot...)

Broodzilla · 16/12/2008 18:45

Thank you Pezzina, no BDing tonight then! Phew!

Pezzina · 16/12/2008 17:34

Hi Broodzilla the hormone is present in small amounts all the time - hence the faint line. You have to wait till the line is as strong as the test line - then you have your surge.

Hope this helps.

Broodzilla · 16/12/2008 16:17

Hi eveyone,

Popping in from the First Timers thread...
(I'm a few days shy of 30, TTC no 1, first month and CD 8)

Surprise, surprise, I have a question...

Had my first encounter with an OPK this afternoon, and a faint line came up with the test line. Does this mean that I'm either just about to ovulate (or I suppose I might've just missed it, although it's unlikely...) or is the hormone present all the time with a surge around ovulation if you catch my drift?

As in - does the faint line mean that we'd better get BDing or can I wait until it's positive? (I've got a very bad case of man-flu and would rather not go near DH2B, but will put on a brave, un-snotty face if I must...)

smileycat · 16/12/2008 14:59

C1ndy don't think its an infection, no smelly discharge, all normal just that pain last night...very weird but happy its gone now guess it could have been from all the bding on Sunday

iggypiggy · 16/12/2008 14:39

Thanks c1ndy

Am not exactly following the DP - but have in my mind to do the every other day BDing.. although am also tempted to go for every day if I can....

C1NDY · 16/12/2008 14:34

Iggypiggy If you OPK are negative then you have not ovulated yet, but the little twinges can be your body getting ready to ovulate. I would continue bding - not sure if you are following the DP - but everyother day should do it. Until you get that postive and then bed for three consecutive days.

OP posts:
C1NDY · 16/12/2008 14:29

Smileycat funny you should say that but I have been having a little very very mild pain down below. I thought it could have been me testing my CM - sorry for TMI. But it is not a sharp pain. Have you... sorry again this is going to be embarrasing but have you checked for infections, they say that if your CM smells that there may be an infection?? (someone please correct if I am wrong!!). Lately I have been having pains near to ovulation time and thought that this could be the MC that I had around September time and that my body was still healing. If in doubt you should speak to your doctor.

ps just going back to becky's comment on the 'baby manual' i was made to laugh by a teacher friend of mine who said it took her 5 years of training, exams, supervision and police checks to learn how to look after young children for a few hours a day - when you become a mum you have 2 hours of classes then 'off you go, have fun!'

I searched DD for the instructions but couldn't find any, although i have to say instinct does a great job - even though when newly pregnant i didn't believe the whole instinct thing!

Heebychick · 16/12/2008 14:14

Hi ladies,

Crikey i have been gone so long when i logged in it told me i had 'no threads i am discussing on' !!! i had to search for this thread again!

Sorry am mega busy at the moment what with 2 jobs (i work PT but am also running my own business) and it's a really busy time for me at Christmas. So if i don't get here a lot it's not that i'm not thinking of you all - i am - and i will of course be looking in on the Christmas eve test-a-thon!!

cindy i would think once a day is fine but do it more if you can, we did it every day for a block of 5 days over OV but only once a day, mind you i did 'feel' my OV this time and had plenty of CM which would of helped the lil' swimmers live a bit longer. I would be worried about quality of sperm if you did it more than once a day? not sure if there's any science behind that comment or just my thoughts.

wannabe shame about AF honey, like the others have said tho at least it's a nice month to be able to drink and eat all that lovely pate! tut.

smiley hi honey - i had a similar pain but it didn't hang around for long, i put it down to over worked muscles!

((((hugs to everyone)))) sorry to have been radio-silent for ages!

JingleJools · 16/12/2008 14:09

Hi Wanabe - good point re the virus, but I'd be very surprised as I'm actually pretty fit and full of energy - even my aerobics instructor commented on it last night !! Since Sunday, I've also been in a fantastically good mood for the first time in a very very long time

I would obviously love this to be the start of something, but if not, it just gives me another month to regain even more of my pre PG fitness and lose more weight plus I can enjoy a few Christmas drinkies, so am frustrated but quite OK about it I think

Bleeding has stopped again

Pezzina · 16/12/2008 12:57

Hi Cindy - I agree the time does indeed fly by during the BDing stage but then seems to grind to a halt in the dreaded 2ww.

WanabeMum · 16/12/2008 12:25

Hey ladies,

Thanks for the supportive messages but honestly I'm ok and actually feeling quite positive about next month and so is DH.

Funtime & Villagemum your symptoms sound positive!

Jools are you sure that you haven't got that Norovirus that's rife at the moment? Diarrhoea and vomitting could explain the sypmtoms you have (sorry to be negative but i work in a hospital so see this all the time!). Hopefully it's just weird symptoms but you may want to keep an eye on your symptoms just in case and drink lots of water!

Hi everyone else and good luck with the marathons and 2ww! sorry if i don't mention everyone but my brain only retains small amounts of info at a time!

iggypiggy · 16/12/2008 10:43

Morning everyone

AM FEELING ALL CHRISTMASSY!

anyway... have started my BD-a thon - yesterday on CD10 - was having odd twinges - so was wondering if was sort of getting ready to ov rather than actually ov'ing - cos that would be very early... and I would have started bding too late... opk was -ve yesterday too.

Not sure what the pain could be smiley unless is somehow a little senstive from lots of BDing?

How frustrating for you jools I hope is all a good sign tho xx

smileycat · 16/12/2008 10:26

C1ndy we are going to carry on bding for the next couple of days just incase, but I did get very uncomfortable low down on Sat eve & told DH that I though I might be OVing early, we were out on Sat eve at a party & didn't get in till 3am, tried the deed but DH had too much to drink so did it the next morning & eve just incase it was OV pains, so if I did OV early I'm hoping that FF got it a little wrong & it should have been Sat (my pains) & not Friday (its date)that means we would be in with a better chance of getting a +ive
At least if I have OV already I will be due AF earlier & can have a drink New Year if its -ive

A little question I got a sharp pain in what I think was my cervix area last night, it happened a couple of times during the eve & when we did the deed the 1st push (tmi) gave me the pain again, but since then it hasn't happened again???? any ideas? anyone had something similar

JingleJools · 16/12/2008 10:21

Oooh Wincies and VillageMum - my money is on both of you

The jury is still out on whether I'm having a very wierd, light AF or a big implantation bleed

Boobs not sore, which makes me think this is just AF, but still diarrhea, gas, excess saliva (was drooling overnight - lovely ) very sensitive achey teeth - gums were bleeding earlier (either that or I just have a metallic taste in my mouth !) and, even when I'd told myself not to be silly, this is AF and I should tell Fertility Friend I'm on CD1, I then came over all nauseous and actually threw up around 30 mins ago

This is just maddening - I've been in total limbo for 2 days and it feels like 2 years !!!

Could it be that my body is so used to HCG as I only miscarried 5 weeks ago that my boobs are not getting sore ?

Anyone else got similar experiences of a wierd AF after mc ?

I'm pretty sure that, if this is implantation, I have to wait at least a week to test, so will stick around wishing, hoping, obsessing and waiting for all those BFP's the grapefruit massive is going to get before Christmas

C1NDY · 16/12/2008 10:06

Pezzina Hi there, I am in the bding stage.. its nearly coming to an end. So I will be all wrapped up soon and be doing the long stretch of the 2ww wait... Where does the time go?

OP posts:
Pezzina · 16/12/2008 09:55

Smileycat - I feel gutted for you - FF did the same thing to me a couple of cycles ago - I thought I knew what my cycle was going to do but then my body tricked me and we had started BDing too late. But as you say, it does only take 1 little swimmer.

FF confirmed my OV day - I ov'd on Saturday, which is what I had expected. So I'm 3DPO. Although we hadn't managed as much BDing as we had hoped due to lots of family being around. But we've done all we can for another month now. Just got to sit back and see what happens.

Thankfully, the next week and a half are going to be busy busy busy so I'll hopefully have little time to symptom spot

How's everyone else doing? Any news Wasabi?
