Hey ladies,

Smiley your DS sounds like a little darling, although wondering if maybe he has heard you? hehe, that would be awkward to explain!

Jools i'm quietly optimistic for you but trying not to make you excited if that makes sense? Fingers crossed!

wincies looks like it's positive for you too, oooh keep us posted and whatever you do, don't forget to keep breathing!

Heeby lovely to hear from you, hopefully your DH will wait on you over Christmas so you can rest for a little while. You're probably going to be busy with your other little one anyway so a rest will be well deserved!

Becky glad to hear you're almost at your marker (not long left!). Very well thought out plan of escaping the awkward questions of "why aren't you drinking?". May put that into practice when I go on my alcohol free drive after Christmas.

JingleJools · 18/12/2008 12:22

Good to hear from you Becky At least you have Christmas to keep you occupied till your scan

If when I get another BFP, I think I will actually tell more people. Not sure why really - it just feels right I still won't tell the MIL too early though - she'd be phoning every day to check on me and I'd end up delivering in prison, on trial for manslaughter !!

Have given myself a good talking to this morning and updated Fertility Friend to reflect today as CD3 - am hoping it will help me relax and stop pointless symptom spotting

FF reckons I will ov on New Years Eve, so I'll be getting busy right after Christmas - perfect timing as DP and I both have time off between then and New Year - lazy mornings in bed coming up

wasabipeanut · 18/12/2008 12:13

Becky - Sounds like you are doing a great job in keeping things a secret! I'm happy for you that you haven't felt too grim in the 1st trimester - it can be quite a difficult time if you feel really rough but can't tell anyone why!

I work in IT security as a Product Marketing type person - I write things like marketing collaterol, prospecting newsletters, case studies and that sort of thing. In theory it could be a good time to jump ship because marketing is one of those areas where its a lot cheaper to pay someone to write one off pieces than paysome a salary. I use used to be in sales before DS so have a lot of contacts so plan to focus as a security specialist - it can be quite technical so a lot of copywriters wouldn't really know what they are writing about which kind of shows in the finished result.

I have just written my resignation letter! It says very nice things about my company - if I keep them sweet I might be able to pick up freelance work for them.

BeckyMcG · 18/12/2008 12:04

Smiley - lovely words from DS - bless him! also enjoy skiing, we had such a great time skiing last year!
Have just enjoyed catching up with everyone's news.
Wasabie - what do you do? what will you be doing Freelance? It sounds good to me as I think in the current climate jobs aren't safe at the moment at all.
Jools - how are you feeling? it seems to have been a rollercoaster but I imagine it's your body getting back into gear again and into cycle which is a positive thing!
So - I am now 9 weeks, will be 10 weeks next Tuesday. I just can't wait till the magic 12 and my scan which is scheduled for Friday 9th Jan. I've only shared the news with a very small group of my good girlfriends as the not drinking would have been too obvious (and totally out of character for me) at our intimate gatherings. Not told any family and don't plan to till after the scan. I still feel like I'm doing doign damage limitation in the event of bad news - nearlty 25% of pregnancies micarry between 8 and 12 weeks - so high isn't it? more or less one in four.
Many people at bigger gatherings haven't even notived I'm not drinking. I always take a glass of wine and carry it round and sip at at and then at some point ditch it somewhere and then pick up another one later and do the same - as long as I've got one in my hand everyone's happy!. Or else I buy myself tonic with ice and lemon and give the impression isn't G&T ;-) The few friends who are in on it are handy here too as when they hand me my drinks they say - G&T for you!
I've not put on any weight - probably all those calories saved from vino and while have felt a bit sickly at times have mostly been fine - just extremely tired. Have been leaving Xmas parties early - the exhaustion plus no alcohol makes my bed seem appealing.

wasabipeanut · 18/12/2008 10:37

Sorry Smiley I had also meant to comment on those lovely words from your ds.

It's amazing how perceptive and lovely they can be at times. I am impressed if you didn't cry!

queenie1 · 18/12/2008 10:23

Yellow - with what you've done already and Sat am I'm sure you should have covered your window. Try not to stress too much (though I know exactly what you mean!!)

So on that point, yellow and Heeby - thanks for your reassurance and encourgement re EWCM and lack of DH around at the moment! I'm working at home today and he's due back this afternoon so will pounce. I spoke to him late last night though and he was VERY festively gone if you know what I mean. So presume his sperm will be too hung over to get to where they need to. I'll take my chances though and give it a go anyway.

But all this means that while I WILL hope this month (like all the others ) I also have a very big feeling that this will NOT be our month (and trying not to be cross with DH about this - another bout of 'reasonableness' from me then !!). Hopefully the new year wil usher in more sobriety and more dedication to the BDing on his part. That's my new year's wish anyway (2nd of course to my wish that the small amount of BDing we are doing this month works).

Wasabi - sounds like you also need to breathe!! Thinking of you. Sounds like handing in your notice is a good though stressful thing.

Smiley - your DS sounds amazing!!

Jools - I have everything crossed. Our bodies are such unpredictable, unknowable mean things at times.

JingleJools · 18/12/2008 10:03

Will be thinking of you Wasabi - sounds like it will be a real relief once you get the words out - probably good to get over with before Christmas

wasabipeanut · 18/12/2008 09:42

Morning all,

I just wanted to share with you the fact that I am handing in my notice at work today and am absolutely fizzing with nerves. I was going to do it in the new year but my boss as forced my arm by being determined to schedule my appraisal before I finish for Xmas and today is my last day.

I am stopping my regular job to go freelance so I can spend more time with ds and generally not be massively rushed and stressed all the time. It has occured that perhaps the fact that I am always rushing around like a lunatic or so tired I can hardly stay awake is probably not helping us with making DC2. This is by no means the main reason I am stopping - I am more concerned about the child I already do have - but it is a factor.

I've been doing some freelance work on the side and I reckon I can earn enough to equal what I do now - only on significantly less hours and without a commute to London.

Still nervous though - feels scary stepping away from relatively secure (if there is such a thing anymore)work.

I can see the dates are all updating below but I can' do mine because I haven't actually come on properly yet. I would be all excited and testing if I hadn't been here several times before. I have no symptoms anyway - might test tomorrow if nothing has happenned.
It has made my wonder if I'm getting my ov dates wrong. I am picking up a surge usually on day 15 but am now on day 30 so would have expected to see AF by now surely? Maybe as I was ill then I got the surge but the egg didn't quite make it out of the gate. Because I wasn't still testing I might have missed a second surge. Dunno.

Arrrguuughhhhhhh. So nervous.

Wincies - I have everything crossed for you . Remember to keep breathing

Sorry about long post - needed to vent.

JingleJools · 18/12/2008 09:04

Awww - very cute DS Smiley Lucky you going away for Christmas - I feel the need to escape too !

My "AF" is gradually getting a little heavier - I do need a pad in now, but it just doesn't look right - watery pink / red blood and no dark bits or teeny clots which is what I'd normally expect to see (sorry if TMI !!)

Had waves of mild nausea, mildly itchy nips and feel vaguely dizzy, all of which I had when PG I'm 80% certain this is just AF but there is something strange about it - then I read about women who have short cycles and can actualy ovulate whilst bleeding - wondered if my cycle is so messed up that something like that has happened ?

A test won't show anything till Xmas Eve I think, so I'll just have to try to forget it for a week and stop boring you all !

yellowflowers · 18/12/2008 08:22

temp still low so still not ovulated - been Bding for nearly 2 weeks now and no chance today or tomorrow as dh has christmas parties - best I can hope for now is Sat am. Grrrr.

smileycat · 18/12/2008 08:16

You lot are going to be too exhausted to enjoy Christmas at this rate only joking & jealous as this was my wk for a bd fest

Jules if you are DPO 6/7 I'm with you as I'm DPO 6 today I usually have a 12/14 LP & FF says to test 26th I'm not holding out any hopes for this month as didn't get in half as much bding as we wanted to with early OV but still can't help hoping

My ds said to me this morning 'mummy I want to ask you a question & I want you to tell me the truth, are you & daddy trying for a baby' ....what do you say to that I wanted to tell him so bad that we are but I wouldn't be able to stand his little face every month asking me if it worked this month, so I told him that I couldn't love another baby as much as I loved him, his answer to that was 'you could I'd let you' bless him

Only 4 more days till skiing, I'm soooooo excited it will take my mind of obsessing up to test date

pinkie08 · 17/12/2008 20:05

Tinsel

Its hard those last few days of 2ww but those symptoms sound good.

do you know when you oved as that will indicate whether its 28 or 30m day cycle for you.

i am holding on for the loo as need to do another opk tonight as did this afternoons after 3 1/2 hrs and got a -ive it always goes +ive today so am still hopeful.

Its the sheer desperation of wanting that baby that gives me the energy for the bding

JingleJools · 17/12/2008 20:05

Good to hear from you Heeby

Wincies - I am getting all excited for you

I am also impressed at all the BD fests I think I am extremely lucky to know when I ovulate (apart from this odd cycle) and we only BD'ed 3 times in the month I got a BFP !

Wanabe - I spent the afternoon convincing myself this is AF, then had strange itchy nipples this afternoon, abdominal twinges on the left side whilst in my spinning class, slight dizziness and nausea on the way home ..

What will be will be - I'll know either way in around a week because I am guessing I must be 6 or 7 DPO now. The bleeding started really too early for implantation though (3.5 days after the earliest BD it could be)

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 17/12/2008 19:28

I'm flabbergasted at the sheer energy of some of you, dh and I are lucky if we manage twice during my fertile time. Three times and he thinks that I'm a harlot !

Trying to stay calm now as I've been having general queasiness and that 'hung over' feeling at breakfast and early evening, which was exactly the same pattern with ds, but not with the mcs. Ds started as twins which is why I felt so pants so early. Also, if I'm on a 28 day this month rather than a 30 (it varies) then symptoms now with AF due on Sunday wouldn't be so weird.

Oh heck ! Breathe...

pinkie08 · 17/12/2008 17:06

HI All,

This marathon is nearly at an end for me and i havent had my yet on OPK but guess will be tomorrow as everything else pointing to it.

Yellow dont worry too much about being ill i conceived while ill on lemsip and aspirin.

Got to keep my spirits up for continuing the bding as may have missed the Surge and cant really believe that clomid hasnt forced it as has always made me ov before

Heebychick · 17/12/2008 16:12

Hi wananbe how lovely for you to have a week off to concentrate on lots of BDing! i am sure that quantity is the key for some people!
i'm very tired and yes the thought of being fed grapes whilst lying on a sofa is sadly a no hoper. still i have stamped my feet a little bit and he is doing more (not that he didn't do lots anyway, he has always been quite helpful) so after this weekend i should be able to rest up a bit.

I'm feeling very tired now but i have the most impressive cleavage! so with every down side there is a perk!

WanabeMum · 17/12/2008 15:48

Hi ladies,

Jools im glad it's not the dreaded bug you have, thats aweful. But I wouldn't wash your hands of the whole thing just yet as there may be a chance? If not at least you will be back on track and fit when you conceive next time. Keep positive honey!

Heeby nice to hear from you! You're a mad woman being so busy, you should be chilling out laying on a sofa with your DH feeding you grapes (if only eh?). Anyway, glad you're doing well!!

I'm feeling weirdly optimistic today as me and DH are preparing for next month. I have a week off over xmas and new year which is when I'm due to OV so should be able to fit a bit more BD-ing in!

smileycat · 17/12/2008 15:03

OK another high temp this morning so def OV'd early so I've updated my dates. FF says to test on 26th but if temp still high then I'll test on Xmas day, hopfully it will be a great extra xmas pressie feeling very bloated today & a few niggley pains but otherwise no other symtoms other than the usual sore boobs
Queenie I have read that if you are under 10 days LP then you should talk to your gp, but then again I've also read that a girl on another thread had an 8 day LP & her gp said that was fine, but if yours is 10 then I think that should be ok

Hi girls,

queenie it might not be this but i had EWCM after i had OV'd and i started to think maybe i'd got it wrong, this is what i had:

Sunday eve - CM
Mon - EWCM & pains
Tues - CM
Wed - EWCM
Thurs - EWCM
Fri - EWCM
Then every day from there i had more cm than normal.

Turns out i concieved on the Mon or Tues so i guess it can come after? like i said i'm not sure if this is it for you but might be another answer, plus if you have plenty of EWCM it might be enough to keep the lil' ones healthy for a while - can you do it tonight before he goes out?

yellowflowers · 17/12/2008 13:47

hi queenie - I don't know answer about lp but hope you feel better about this soon. regarding ewcm, I have read in medical papers different explanations - some say ewcm appears during ovulation, some say before and some say after, so I think just BDing as often as possible around that time is the key - what I mean is Thurs eve may well not be too late. x

queenie1 · 17/12/2008 13:39

Jools - really sorry to hear about AF, but at the same time, are you sure it is AF? I don't want to get / keep your hopes up unneccessarily but if the bleeding stays light and then goes away, maybe you should think about testing?

Wasabi - sorry too to hear about the dreaded AF. Sounds like you're dealing well with it though.

Yellow - keep going!!

I'm feeling a bit anxious / cross today. We've managed to do CD 9, 12, 15 and 16. Today is CD 18 and I've got EWCM for the first time so sure I am soon to ovulate, but DH is out tonight at a christmas party and staying at his friends. This means no BDing til at least Thursday night (CD 19) which means I'll probably miss the fertile window...MADDENING...

I'm also getting worried about my LP. It seems that I have one of about 10 days. Is this okay?

JingleJools · 17/12/2008 11:15

Morning everyone Hello to Wasabi you got us all going for a while !!

Not much change here really - still bleeding very light, but enough to put a pad in now so I'm assuming that this is AF. I just hope it gets going quickly as I'm really really bloated - to the point of being quite embarrassed at the gym at the size of my belly ! I have a theory that my body tried to OV (hence the EWCM) and failed (hence the lack of pre AF hormonal irritability).

Will add myself to the list sometime soon - I guess CD1 was probably yesterday, so BD fest coming up over New Year

I'm a bit disappointed to have missed the boat on the "being more fertile just after MC" theory, but oh well - nothing I can do now except keep going to the gym to be as slim as possible by the time I do conceive

Keep going Yellow!! Ov may be just delayed rather than missed.

yellowflowers · 17/12/2008 10:28

Hi everyone.

Well wasabi -unlikely to be me as am ill now and though managing to bd a bit (we today, but not for last two days) I think it's prevented ovulation as day 22 today and still no temp rise. Hopefully for pinkie though, and all the rest of you.
