Hi guys
back after a longish absence visiting families over Christmas- for obvious reasons did not want mumsnet turning up in their browsing histories. Congratulations to all those with BFPs- delighted for you.

Until yesterday I was rather hoping to be joining you (had, for the first time in 14 months of TTC, intermittent nausea, very tender breasts and abdominal twinges from DPO6 to DPO13) but unfortunately it now looks very much like I will still be around for the January version of this thread.

We have started investigations, so watch this space.

TMI WARNING.... For the record, I think grapefruit juice plus guanifesin had worked: had bleeding and cramps yesterday and today (respectively CD24/DPO14 and CD1), with clots and feeling much worse than normal on CD1, so I guess this is another very early miscarriage. So, while we wait for the results of the tests I will be back on grapefruit juice and guanifesin next week.

BoosieBoo · 30/12/2008 16:23

Hi smiley. I'm 8 weeks now. I had a scan about the same time with DS and everything worked out ok, so hopefully this will be the same. I'd keep the appointment - you won't be able to have the smear, but you could just explain the situation to her and hopefully she'll be kind and scan you anyway.

smileycat · 30/12/2008 13:01

Boosie it must have been great to see your little bean on the screen..how far on are you now?
I have an appointment with the gyni next Weds its supose to be for a checkup on my remaining ovary for cysts (to get the all clear) & to have a smear.........I don't know if I should cancel it or keep it.
I guess I wont be able to have the smear but she will use the internal vaginal probe to look at my ovary & I was hoping I might get a sneaky peak at my bean while she is in there, I'll only be 5 wks then although more like 6wks with my dates as I OV'd a wk early. I don't think I'll see a heart beat then but it will give me peace of mind that something is really there. I'm just worried that she might tell me I've wasted her time & should have booked in with a midwife & canceled her appointment...what do you think?

BoosieBoo · 30/12/2008 12:47

Hi everyone,

Firstly smiley - fab news! How are you feeling?

Had my scan this morning - good news. All going well so far, bean is measuring right for dates and strong, fast heartbeat. So relieved Just have to sit tight for another 4 weeks. As predicted my mum took one look at me last week and asked when I was due. Was really nice to tell her actually, it felt kinda weird she didn't know. Going to tell DH's parents and my dad today and then wait for 12 weeks for everyone else.

Hope you all have a lovely new years. Ooodles of baby dust to you all xx

iggypiggy · 30/12/2008 09:58

v quick message from me as am on holiday and checking from my mobile. I have cramps today which i think is 10dpo, so guess af on way? Might test tomorrow or new years day anyway tho... Too tempting! c1ndy 40 doesn't sound old to me... Would have thought you would still have time x x

C1NDY · 30/12/2008 09:47

I tested again and still a BFN... and I dreamt AF was on the way last night but no sign of it this morning but she is coming.... The sticks have spoken so its a BFN for me this month. Roll on January...

Wincies I am wishing it will be a wonderful year of BFP for everyone on this TTC list. Time is flying by and I am now on my third cycle of trying ? where does the time go. I have brushed myself down again and ready for the next DP mission :0) Just want AF to arrive sooner, can?t wait till New Year?s day and then I can start counting down to DPO8.

I wouldn?t worry about the age gap of children, my parents had 5 of us and we have such different age gaps big as 5 years and we still get on together.

My only concern is that I am 39 and rolling on for my big 40 in March, I feel like 40 already. I wonder whether my biological clock has stopped ticking. I am going to keep trying until the end of June and then DH and I have decided to give up. We have a lovely 2yrDD and she keeps us very busy.

oh no - I started spotting this evening - 9dpo but had temp dive this morning so probs period on way but perhaps that means worrying lp?

yellowflowers · 29/12/2008 18:15

Hi wincies - great idea to add important dates to list so we can support each other at right time etc.
x

Smiley - you'll be given an expected date based on a bog-standard 28 day cycle from the first day of your last AF. Dates will then be adjusted if the foetal measurements are drastically different for dates when you go for your 12 week and 20 week scans. Mind you, I know exactly when I conceived with ds and I still had to be induced 2 weeks late!

C1NDY - with you there and feeling the same . It's bizzare to think that at this time last year I was pregnant and worrying whether having 2 children so close together was such a great idea. Now 15 months on, I'm beginning to worry about the gap being too big .

However; new year, new start and all that .

pinkie08 · 29/12/2008 15:43

Hi smileycat and hi to all others,

Big congrats . they may give you 2 dates one based on your last af and another based on size of sticky bean when they do your 12 week scan.

Am sitting on my hands cd26 today and no red smears yet but not getting hopes up so am anticipating its arrival

smileycat · 29/12/2008 11:22

Meant to also say a big thankyou to all for the best wishes, its feels great to have my name in the bfp list, lets hope it stays there & everyone will be joining us some time in the very near future

smileycat · 29/12/2008 11:18

Yellow I had a huge drop on DPO9 & then tested positive on DPO13 so it could be the same & be an implantation dip so don't worry too much at the moment

I'm ok today very tingly nipples & feeling slightly icky & still have mild cramps but otherwise very happy with the result

I'm actually only 3.5 wks as I OV'd early
It feels really wierd because if I hadn't have done peeing on a stick & my temp I would never have known that I OV'd on CD9 & would only be looking at testing New Years eve & would still be in my 2WW

Question for you does that mean that my due date will actually be a wk earlier than I have ie some one who tests New Year will also be classed as 4 wks pg although they are really only 2wks but I will actually be 3ks??? if you see what I mean

Pezzina · 29/12/2008 10:50

Hi everyone - congratulations Smileycat thats great news!

Cindy I agree with yellowflowers - I think you've tested too early. Try to hold out till New Years eve at least. Easier said then done but do try xx

Hi Yellowflowers - sorry you don't think its your month. I guess you'll have a better idea when you take your temp tomorrow.

yellowflowers · 29/12/2008 10:01

C1ndy - obv it is easy for me to give advice that I don't myself follow but if you are not due until new year's day (like me) then a bfn now is almost meaningless.
x

C1NDY · 29/12/2008 09:56

Becky Good luck with the scan

Heeby what cough medicine did you try ... I know DP mentions the Roubitons.. something... but there are two types which one did you use??

How is everyone else? I feel like I am going to be here forever ... bding for a whole year - oh well, such is life when the time is right it will happen... I just know my time will come long sigh*

Hello. Having had a fab christmas I am a bit miserable today - temp dropped (9dpo) which may be sign of period coming soon. Was so hoping the first month of 2009 would be our month.
How are rest of you?

Comma2 · 28/12/2008 00:46

Oh congrats to all the BFP!!!!!

I am CD 22 today and was running today, then found I had spotted a bit...was actually (sorry, TMI) a little clump of tissue which I am sure is not a good sign, but hopefully just remnant from miscarriage last month ....I get all sad about it now, Christmas with all family movies is a shitty time for this....think will have little sippy of something, as pretty sure I can't be pregnant so soon again. Anybody want some port? Is v. good for general health and constitution.

JingleJools · 27/12/2008 20:25

Hi Heeby

Well, did a Clearblue digi this afternoon after avoiding the bathroom for a few hours -said Not Pregnant - not much of a surprise really but good to know one way or the other. Either the Sainsbury's test was duff, or it is sensitive enough to pick up very very faint post MC levels with FMU ?

I was STILL nauseous at the gym this morning and STILL have an aversion to wine though - very odd !! I think it is CD12 for me today (although not sure what to take as CD1 given that my bleeding never got going)

I normally OV between CD14 and 16 so need to start seducing DP I guess Does anyone know if having an anovulatory cycle has any effect on the timing of subsequent cycles ?? I'm only just beginning to appreciate just how lucky I've been having cycles like clockwork and ovulation that I can predict and feel - am a bit lost now that my body isn't behaving !!

My parents have flown off on a long 9 week holiday today - I would LOVE to pick them up from the airport and show them a scan picture

Heebychick · 27/12/2008 19:50

i leave you all alone for 5 minutes ...... WOW [grin[ what wonderful news!!

Huge congrats to smiley wasabi village pezzina what great christmas presents for you all!

I'm sorry to have been away, trust me i have been lurking just been soooo busy with crimbo visits etc and just haven't had time to write!

As for me, i have my 12 week scan next monday and am feeling fine, nausea has gone finally and although i'm quite tired i feel fine (trying not to worry - silly heeby)

Lots of love and luck to you all .... jools how you doing honey?

xxx

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 27/12/2008 18:56

Blimey yellowflowers, I'm just imagining the look on dh's face !

yellowflowers · 27/12/2008 18:38

I think deanna plan is bd every two days from 8dpo then every day for 3 days from time you see positive on opk then night off then bd again - so basically making sure you are topped up with sperm before, during and after ovulation. x
