Happy new year everyone. Good luck to everyone and bring on the bfp's!!

funtimewincies · 03/01/2009 19:40

Hi and Happy New Year to all. Well, the decorations are down and the tinsel and glitter put away, back to boring old funtime .

Jools - sending virtual hugs to you, it must be so frustrating. I know that after my mc's all I wanted was for my cycle and everything to return to normal as soon as possible. Keep an eye on the old depression thing and come and vent whenever you like.

BeckyMcG · 03/01/2009 11:32

Happy new year everyone! Sorry to hear you're low Jools. I think this is a strange time of year - all the excitement of Xmas and new year over and we're left with grim weather, work restarting properly, no money left etc etc. I think maybe you're feelings are catching up with you as you were very brave just after MC and jumping back on the TTC train. I don't want to upset you but I want you to know how empathetic I feel for you. I'll be 12 weeks in 2 days and it feels like I've really got used to the idea of being pg and the shock of losing it very great, whereas with my MC it was so early (7 weeks) that it was still fresh and I do think much easier to bounce back from -both emotionally and physically.
Although like I said not a very positive time of year generally now I don't think. I felt quite tearful on New Years Day driving back down from my sisters. I was worrying whether everything would be ok with the pregnancy and then with the birth and then generally with my capabilities as a parent.
Plus I have watched everyone get sozzled night after night over Xmas and New Year (I've been driving!!) and as we ended up staying up so late on NYE (didn't get to bed till 5!!) I felt like I had a hangover for 2 days yesterday - headache and sickness- as my body was short of sleep which seemed a bit unfair without the vino .

iggypiggy · 03/01/2009 09:01

hi everyone, happy new year! Am all confused, af not here yet and is never usually late, did internet cheapy test and bfn. No af symptoms yet. All very odd am usually very regular on cycle...

yellowflowers · 02/01/2009 23:23

Hi everyone - happy noo year!

Hope you are feeling better jools

So Jan 1st was day one of my cycle (which today was ultra heavy and had three hours of such terrible cramping I think I now know what labour is like!) which does make counting days easy. So ovulation likely to be around Jan 16th - 23rd judging by previous cycles (but will start deanna plan from day 12) and expecting af at end of month - will update list.

Also I didn;t want to say earlier because I was waitng for news either way but I did sainsburys tests last week and got ambiguous results - very very faint lines but read elsewhere on MN that these tests are the worst for faint positives so ignored them. Also v v faint line on internet cheapy. So guess perhaps a chemical pregnancy perhaps not - but a good reminder to self to use proper tests after 14dpo next time (as if...). I didn't get excited because temps were all over place so suspected af was coming but I did dare cope.

Other news... last two cycles (only cycles I've been temping) seems luteal phase is 12 days - I know nothing about luteal phases - does this matter?

Here is updated list and sorry for long message. I've taken off the top people whose af was due end of Nov/beginning Dec on assumption they are not on tis thread any more - apologies if this is wrong and you are still here - please come and say hello.

x

Hi Jools, I'm still lurking here

Sorry to hear your cycle is still not getting back to normal after the mc. I hope things get better very soon.

I am mentally preparing myself for a '3 days in a row BD fest' - at least it's the weekend, so shouldnt be too difficult. You'd hope so, anyway - I'm starting to find doing it cos we have to cos it's the right time a bit of a chore

smileycat · 02/01/2009 19:08

Jools sorry to hear you are feeling so low at the moment, I can't imagine how hard it is for you just wanting your body to get back to normal so that you can start again, but at least you do know that you did get pg & that it can happen & will again, I know its easy for me to say but give it time, your body will recover & when you are relaxed it will happen again for you I'm sure. Big hug hunny (((((hug)))))

JingleJools · 02/01/2009 18:39

Where is everyone ??

I've never seen it so quiet in here - guess you are all either BD'ing away or enjoying your BFP's

Hope you all had a good new years eve

My cycle is still up the spout and either my hormones are up there with it, or I'm sinking back into depression (recognise the signs from a few years ago) so I think I'm going to have to see a GP soon if I can stop crying at stupid things long enough to make the appt If I didn't have a collection of BFN's, I'd wonder if I was PG !!

After my 8 day light non AF-like bleed, I hoped things were getting back to normal, but I've not ovulated - got (sorry TMI) so much EWCM (or I think it was) yesterday that it literally fell out of me and nothing today

Ilovebeingamummy · 31/12/2008 20:58

Hi all

I have been trying to stay of mn and relax a bit after the rollercoaster of the last few cycles (two mcs) Am now on CD26 (of usual 34 day cycle i think - but post mc this cycle anyway so who knows?!) and just praying that a new year is what we need for a sticky bean this time.

Hi and Happy New Year to all I know and those I don't!

x

yellowflowers · 31/12/2008 18:50

hi wincie - that's really helpful actually to know what to look out for. still spotting so must be af. bah! pleased to have company next month though am hoping it's a good one for both of us.
x

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 31/12/2008 18:28

Thanks pezzina .

Yellowflowers, I don't know whether saying this will just depress you, I don't mean to be a meanie, so I'll add the disclaimer that eveyone's cycle is different and what is normal for me won't be for you etc, etc.

But, when I was charting, I had a similar coverline of about 36.2. Just before ov it would dip to 35.8-36.1 and then rise to around 36.3-36.6 dropping right back just before AF. When I've been pg, it has kept rising to around 36.7-37.0 in the 4th week. So for me it involves a big rise in temperature.

Hope this sort of helps, although not necessarily the answer you were looking for .

yellowflowers · 31/12/2008 13:24

thanks smiley - only second month of charting and looks different this month but not really enough to go on - am in foul mood today picking fights with dh though which could be pmt. He said this morning "are you in a bad mood because you want a baby" and I'm afrad the answer is yes. oh dear. Must start yeiar positively.

So... have a great night everyone. x

smileycat · 31/12/2008 13:03

Yellow is this your first month of temping, if not you could look back over the last couple of months to see if there is a difference this time around. How many days past OV do you usually go? Mine followed pretty much exactly the same path for 3 months then this month when it was supose to start dropping 2 to 3 days before AF it stayed up so had a good idea before I tested that I could be pg..good luck to you this could still be your month & the bleeding could be implantation spotting

yellowflowers · 31/12/2008 11:53

My temps in case anyone fancy being obsessive with me have been:

coverline - 36.26
2dpo - 36.36
3dpo - 36.42
4dpo - 36.33
5dpo - 36.48
6dpo - forgot!
7dpo - 36.51
8dpo - 36.51
9dpo - 36.29 (big dip - spotting started that evening)
10dpo - 36.46 (back up)
11 dpo (today) - 36.4

yellowflowers · 31/12/2008 11:47

Hi all.

Happy new year.
pezzina - good luck with doc. My temp is back up this morning but still spotting so don't know what is going on, and had a couple of beers last night which could explain temp?

breasts very sore though but could be impending period.

Have agreed with dh 2 more months of trying then he'll get sperm checked and we'll go to my specialist together (I am with him for pcos though I ovulate every month and he said if no luck by christmas make an appt to see him, but I want to give it a couple more months to try without the stress of intervention and tests). Both me and dh are 30.

pinkie08 · 31/12/2008 11:13

Spotting has gone but is sure to be back it always is

On a good side the gynae has agreed to do one more month of clomid while i wait for my app. at the fertility specialists. I wasnt going to bother taking it to let my body rest but with the cost of any treatment we may need it might be worth one more go.

Good luck to all those testing, i cant be bothered due to yesterdays spotting.

Smiley I am sure you will get that wonderful sound of the heartbeat, nothing in the world like it, ((((hugs)))) and enjoy.

In a foul mood today - overslept and was late for the gym, then DP was feeling "friendly" so I decided not to race there as I have a suspicion that my body may decide to OV soon - to cut a long story short and avoid TMI, all he wanted was for me to lend a hand - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh, for anyone interested, there is a good pregnancy calculator here that you can adjust for cycle length or put in date of conception or, if a scan adjusts your edd, you can track back and see if it makes sense based on when you think you conceived

smileycat · 31/12/2008 09:57

Pezzina thanks for that I have just done what you suggested & instead of being 3+5 with my LMP I am now 4+6 with my OV date, that means I'll be 1 day short of 6 wks when I go & see the gyni next wk for my appointment & may get to see a heartbeat after all

Pezzina · 31/12/2008 09:25

Morning everyone.

Yellowflowers what was your temp this morning - was it still up? [hopeful smiley]

My fingers are crossed for all of you lovely ladies who are testing today/tomorrow.

Wincies enjoy the BD-athon

Smiley you used FF didn't you? If you want to find out how many weeks you are you can use their sister site "Pregnancy Tracker". Once you have logged in you can input the date of your last AF or, to be more precise, the date you OV'd and FF will calculate how many weeks gone you are.

I'm off to the Dr's this morning to tell her my news. I feel a little bit nervous.

yellowflowers · 30/12/2008 23:22

still spotting so pretty sure it's af but temp was up this morning again so will wait and see what happens tomorrow before updating list. Feeling miserable but having big party tomorrow at our place so will hopefully be cheerful for that.

pinkie08 · 30/12/2008 20:38

Hi all,

Boosie great news about your bean.

smiley they will show you the screen you only need to try and pear round and say can i look and they will let you.

I think im out as had pink smearing this afternoon so guess will still be here next month without my BFP

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 30/12/2008 18:32

Oh Boosie, such lovely news about your bean ! I remember that monent with ds. I had an early scan because of the ectopic a few months before. The sonographer showed me a little blob and a heartbeat amd then said 'oh and I've got a surprise, there's another one in there too!' Even though the twin wasn't to be, it's such a special memory seeing the proof for the first time .

And Smiley, I think that it would be a very cruel sonographer who refused to let you see, or even tell you what is happening. Fingers crossed.

Well, the week of non-stop bd'ing starts here. Dh is happy as a 'once-a-week' kind of bloke, so has been told in no uncertain terms what is expected !
