Oh yeah and I'm CD25 today.

WanabeMum · 06/01/2009 12:20

Congratulations to the newly successful mums-to-be!!!! been off here for such a long time! Christmas and new year has been hectic.

I'm having a bit of a weird month so stressing a little. Have been using my fertility monitor this month again and it has show "high" levels for the past 10 days! what's that all about??!! It's supposed to show high for 3-4 days then peak for 2 days then high for 1 day and then back to low. So far no peak and no low's at all!!
DH keeps saying "could you have caught which is why it's still high?" and to be fair I've thought about it as i did miss 3 days in total but not all together so could have peaked then. Grrr why are our bodies so frustrating??!!!

Sorry for the rant ladies but have to vent somewhere!

Sorry to hear you're a bit low Jools, try and stay positive, you know you can conceive so thats one positive right?

smileycat · 06/01/2009 11:38

Sorry the witch got you iggy but you do sound very positive about this month, my DH kept saying it would be Dec for us even back in Sept & when I OV'd early I really though we'd missed it, but I guess being very positive last month made all the difference

Well I scared myself yesterday, I was surfing the net as you do looking for anything to do with pregnancy & the stage I'm at & I looked up early scans as I maybe having one on Friday if I can sweet talk the gyni into letting me have a sneaky peak.
Some of the scan pictures at 6wks were really clear in that you could see a sac & a very small thing inside, on another website girls were talking about having scans at 5/6wks & the sonographer telling them that he couldn't see anything in the sac & to come back in a couple of wks, but others were told that as there was no heartbeat or stork that there was no baby & they should get ready for a m/c in the next couple of wks
I've only got sore boobs as a symptom so I started to panic thinking the worst & that I probably just have a sac & no baby thats why I'm not sick...........stupid moment of girly sillyness, anyway I took another test this morning & the cross came up very strong & instantly even before the test line so I am happy my hg levels are high. I'll be glad to get to 20wks, it wasn't like this 10 years ago, I just got on with it internet can be devil as well as an angel

iggypiggy · 06/01/2009 11:01

jools - i know just what you mean about ttc to recover and the frustration of potentially missing 'the' month. But if it means that triggered a proper chat with DH it can't be all bad. Me and DH have had quite a bumpy road since ttc as the three MCs I have had have, to be honest, turned me into a bit of a nutter. But in the past couple of months, particularly the last month, things have felt better for me and better between me and DH and I think it's because we're talking so much more openly about how we feel about things.

DH, for example, over christmas said how good it felt to have me 'back'. It's very easy for ttc (and the pain of miscarriage) to make you forget what else is important.

iggy - hugs back to you. lets obsess about opks together this month and try not to succumb to the january blues.

yellow - want to do lots of obsessing with you too. I see we are near cycle buddies this month. How are you feeling today?

xxx

Joolsiam · 06/01/2009 10:06

awww Queenie your DP sounds lovely

Mine actually asked me what was the matter this morning as I've been really down and not really been talking - I nearly said "nothing" but in the end told him about possibly wasting an egg and how I felt about it - he was actually lovely this time - gave me a big hug and told me there is still time. I think he has been trying to protect me from another MC and wanting me to recover first. I keep trying to explain to him that I need to be TTC again in order to recover - hopefully he gets it now.

Really sorry your hopes were dashed this cycle iggypiggy - I've been there myself and it is the pits - I've felt both cheated and embarrassed. Wallow for a day and it will pass - we have to pick ourselves up and move on to the next cycle and somehow manage to do sol

iggypiggy · 06/01/2009 09:54

Thanks queenie1 - I feel more sad than usual because I had convinced myself that I was PG this time - other times I haven't been so optimistic. Agree that is cruel to be late when you trying so hard - you know what else is a real pain - the fact that sore breats are a symptom of both AF and PG - having them doesn't giove you an answer either way

anyway - am actually going to be positive - and am going to try the OPK sticks properly this month.

Glad you feeling positive - that's got to be the best way - hasn't it? Am trying to feel same.

Jools - am also continuing with all my exercise (Boxfit twice a week, horse riding twice a week and swimming)- so glad to see you thoughts on it - makes me feel like is better to carry on.

And group hug for anyone who needs one - cos thats how I feel today xx

queenie1 · 06/01/2009 09:41

Sorry to hear that iggy - how are you feeling? It's so frustrating when you're late isn't it. I was three days late this last cycle and thought I was PG. Mother nature can be so cruel...

Jools - very impressed with all your exercise!! Hope that helps you to stay positive about the TTC. That you have conceived shows there's not a problem in that department so it WILL happen for you. I know what you mean about unco-operative partners though. Can be so frustrating. I think much of it is down to them feeling like sperm factories rather than desired-after-lovers. In my experience, post MC, it was also my DH's way of trying to protect me.

I'm actually feeling very optimistic and excited about this month (which will no doubt end up with a big crash back down when AF arrives!). I've got ov sticks which I've not used before as I'm determined to get my head round when exactly I do ovulate. I've also ordered a thermometer (too late, I'm sure for this cycle) and some pre-seed. The other night in bed my DH woke me up hugging me saying that he feels sure its our turn soon...lets hope.

On CD 6 today...

iggypiggy · 06/01/2009 09:16

AF finally arrived today

4 days late - no idea why...

So roll on mid jan to start trying all over again... and at least this month I'll be eating healthily etc.

Joolsiam · 06/01/2009 09:02

Becky - thankyou I think I need you to come and nudge me every time I get miserable - you are the voice of reason !

C1ndy - I do a lot of aerobics and weights classes - spinning, body combat, body attack, body pump etc as well as Pilates and, when PG, I cut out the highest impact ones and took it quite easy in Spinning, sitting on the bike under the aircon unit ! My GP told me I shouldn't need to slow down at all and if I was going to MC, it would happen whether I exercised or not.

I believe it is the same with running - if you've been running prior to getting PG and your body is used to it, then keep going but do what feels comfortable - exercise to maintain fitness levels rather than get even fitter, so keep the intensity a bit lower.

I suppose it is natural to keep wondering what would have happened if I'd stopped exercising, but I think the reality is I'd have ballooned in weight, got quite depressed (exercise is a great antidepressant for me) and MC'ed anyway. Next time, I may take it even easier and swap spinning and body combat for swimming, but will see when the time comes. I've seen heavily PG ladies in my Body Pump (weights) and Spinning classes, so I know is it possible and the trainers would have refused entry if it was considered dangerous.

Well done on the running - keep it up

C1NDY · 06/01/2009 08:39

Hi everyone... it is very quite in here (Cindy looks in to her screen) Where is everyone.

Well I have an awful cold, been coughing as mad so will not feel guilty when I start using the cough medicine as recommended by the DP - as this is now my third cycle. DP recommends Robitussin cough syrup (or any cough medicine that says "expectorant" and NOT "antihistamine") there are two on the market, does anyone know which one I should buy??

Becky Are you allowed to run when you are pg. I am a little overweight and am running 3 miles every other day. My biggest concern is that if I did get pg I will be huge what type of exercise do they recommend? I remember when I was pg the last week I did loads of walking to speed up the baby coming, which my dd arrived two days later. As I have had a MC I worry that if I exercise too much I may MC again - do you know what exercise is safe to do? if ever I get pg it would be nice to know

Hey Jools - I don't think you stop at 40, why? My mum had me at 45 and my sister also had a baby at 45. I had a great childhood - my mum was really young at heart - that is the main thing. I really think it's all down to how old you feel. I also think with age my mum had wisdom and was much more relaxed - she didn't stress about stupid little things and knew what was important!
This morning I did not want to get up in the snow for work - arghhhh. I slept terribly last night - think I was subconsiously worried about oversleeping so am shattered now.
I am 12 weeks today! and have my 12 week scan on Friday. Since I had a private scan 10 days ago at just under 11 weeks I have told quite a few family and friends the good news so am praying for a positive scan on Friday. Apart from my big boobs (ok TMI) I have no other outward signs. In fact I've lost weight which I think is down to no vino. Anyhow have started a health kick today - new years resolutions and all that and am going to eat healthily and from next week start going to the gym - I want to be a yummy mummy (ok, bear in mind I have never had a baby so can still dream of the ideal!!!). The midwife told me exercising 3 times a week will contribute towards a strong baby as the blood circulates faster and oxygenates more - which makes sense

yellowflowers · 05/01/2009 15:29

Hi jools and iggypiggy - yes hopefully new year will be good for us. I hate this time - pre ovulation - at least mid cycle I can BD and 2ww I can hope.

iggypiggy · 05/01/2009 13:51

hello yellowflowers

yes is v. quiet isn't it...

and sorry to hear you feeling low

New year is new start I always think? 2009 will be lucky for all of us I hope xx

Joolsiam · 05/01/2009 13:50

You and me both Yellowflowers

I have a suspicion I may be ovulating today - won't know till my boobs get sore in a couple of days, but it feels like it - and I should be glad if it is my cycle getting back on track. Instead, I'm just raging that I have "wasted" an egg because DP either can't or won't co-operate in BD at the moment. I could barely speak to him this morning, but am trying to keep a lid on it so he doesn't feel pressurised when I start pouncing on him in around 3.5 weeks time !

This next cycle is my last opportunity to conceive and give birth to a baby before I'm 40. I started TTC in June and told myself I'd give up if I couldn't have a baby by then ....

yellowflowers · 05/01/2009 13:42

here's hoping iggy[piggy

where is everyone - this thread v quiet at moment?

I feel quite despondent at moment.

iggypiggy · 05/01/2009 13:29

Yes - test definately working as am getting control line - they are tab ones...

Anyway - I bought a clearblue one in sainsburys (they only had that or own brand) and couldn't stop myself from testing straight away

and another BFN... so guess AF is just v. late... never normally feel sick tho - and am not having my usual cramps yet

This is v. annoying - I know that am setting myself up to feel terrible when AF arrives... keep hoping that the BFNs are wriong - but surely 3 can't be wrong someone slap me

C1NDY · 05/01/2009 13:24

Hi iggypiggy I have brought the same tests. I think you are meant to wait 10 minutes to see the final results. Are they the tab ones or the pee on sticks... as the tab ones take longer to develop. When you test do you get a control line? if so the test is working but if in doubt I will go and get another test, it sounds very promising.... fingers crossed for you. Here waiting to see how you get on. :0)

Morning everyone!

Am after some advice - af is now 3 days late - have been feeling sick for past two days and v. tender breasts. I got BFNs on the pregnancy tests I did on NYE and yesterday... So - my questions is - should I buy a diff test fromt he chemists and try today or am I just being hopelessly optimistic - and accept that af could be on way given the two BFNs from the tests i bought on Amazon - think they called One Step...

Hope you all feeling positive and optimistic about the new year xx

Hello to all and happy new year!

Sorry I've not posted for ages. I've been away and not near a computer which has been bliss. Anyway, just been catching up on all that's been going on here...

Firstly, huge congratulations to VillageMum, Wasabi, Pezzina and SmileyCat!!! Amazing news and what a lovely way to start the new year!

Secondly, big hugs to Jools and Yellowflowers and anyone else who has just got their AF. I'm afraid that's me too. AF was three days late and I was beginning to convince myself I was PG...sure I had the sore boobs and sure I saw the faintest of faintest lines...but alas, AF started with a vengence on New Year's Day . Actually felt fine about it because I was beginning to get scared about how much booze I had been drinking etc!!

Now on a no-booze Jan health kick and hoping that this is the month. Fingers crossed for all of us still waiting for our BFPs and lets hope 2009 is a good year for us all. xxx
