Hi everyone I have started a new thread... hope you like the new home, this is where it will all happen. (Cindy opens a bottle of champagne) Here's a drink to all and to our month ofthe BFP... .... baby dust all around ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Queenie what is your cycle length? The test line should be darker than the control line. I get a faint line nearer to the time that I will ovulate. If you have ovulated early then it is good you have done some bd? I would continue to bd for another three days (including the day that you saw the darker line) to cover all the bases like WanabeMum suggests.

WanabeMum peeing is a sign of pg?. so fingers and toes crossed for you

Jools I know how you are feeling. I am feeling like blobby right now, have an awful smokers cough and I don?t even smoke!! But have not taken anything for it, just in case?. I am still running but have decided to look at my diet as I guess I lurve my chocky? I started Paul McKennon?s way of eating today and left half of my food. Looks promising but I am not speaking too soon. You never know you may have hit the spot? my first DD was conceived by us only bding once and I didn?t even know what my cycle length was or if I was ovulating!! Our bodies are weird things, so you never know. Have you tried placing a heat pack on your back?? It may ease the pain without resorting to any medication?

Hmmm Queenie you may have OV'd early but I thought the test line had to be darker than the control line? Not too sure though as I don't use them. You never know! even if you haven't OV'd yet, keep up the BD-ing to cover all bases.

I'm still peeing like a race horse! TMI i know but still, it's worse in the morning and has now settled but still, i've been in work 4 hours and have peed 4 times! that's not normal. i normally go twice max in work throughout the day. Grrr, if it's not a symptom then i'm not impressed

Jools you're allowed to be blue and self-obsessed on this thread! that's the idea of it try not to let it get to you too much honey, your time will come and when it does you'll forget about how aweful this bit is. That's what i keep telling myself anyway.

My turn to rant now ..... my sis-in-law has a beautiful 3.5 year old daughter who was unplanned. Her and her partner have now split and she tries to palm her off on anyone who will have her so she can go out and socialise. It makes me mad to think she is taking the gift of a child for granted when i am struggling to conceive! my DH agrees with me but obviously i can't be quite so mean about it to him as wouldn't be fair. Some people have no idea what they have.

queenie1 · 12/01/2009 10:30

Hi all and welcome broodzilla Becky - congrats on scan. Must feel amazing!! I'm sure if I got to 12 weeks I would be complete wreck so don't worry about it. I'm sure the docs are very used to it!

Wannabe - does sound awful. Fingers crossed you get a successful BFP soon. x

This is the first month I'm properly using OPK sticks and I'm a bit confused / unsure. I've been testing since day 7 (now on day 12) and I've been having faint lines each day and a darker line on day 10 (albeit not quite as dark as control test but obviously much darker than all the others including day 11). Then had loads of EWCM last night (day 11). I usually get EWCM between days 16 - 20. Do you think I might have OV'd early? (If so I think there's a good chance as we've BDed day 7, 10 and 11). Thoughts?

yellowflowers · 12/01/2009 10:13

Just to say hello to jools because that sounds horrid. xxxx

Pezzina · 12/01/2009 10:01

Morning ladies

Thank you for your good wishes but I'm not having a scan today - I think Wasabi is having hers today?

Good luck Wasabi - hope it goes well.

Joolsiam · 12/01/2009 09:55

Hi C1ndy - trying not to get my hopes up as, if I'm honest with myself, I think our one and only BD this month was probably the day after OV.

I have become incredibly hormonal though - watched the Horse Whisperer yesterday and sobbed all the way through, was very irritable this morning and am now close to tears cos there is not just one PG lady in this office due in May as I was but THREE, and they were all comparing scan pics

Had a major hot flush last night though

Trying to get on with work and just not think about it - not helped by the fact that I hurt my back at the gym yesterday, so am in pain but scared to take Ibuprofen in case I am PG so constantly in pain and not mobile enough to get to the gym, burn some calories and vent some frustrations I was just getting back a good level of fitness post MC and starting to really really enjoy my workouts again and was looking forward to losing more weight. I'm really bloated at the moment and feeling FAT and frumpy.

Sorry to be so miserable and self-obsessed but I needed to get that out - off to do some work now and try not to cry in the middle of the office ....

C1NDY · 12/01/2009 09:15

Jools it sounds very promising. My boobs don't hurt when I ovulate, I just get a tiny belly ache. When my AF is arriving my left leg twitches... hummm I am strange I know. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

Smiley How are you feeling, what week are you on?

Villagemum if you are lurking pop in and say 'Hi' I want to know how you are getting on.

Well, I have been sticking to the DP to a 'T'... DH is so comforting and obeying all my rules and is not complaining about all the bd we are doing. Sorry for TMI.. but after we brought the preseed life has been much better for us. It becomes a chore and sometime foreplay is out of the question... especially when you are too knackered from working etc... we have a 2 yr DD so I find it even harder to try and get in the mood (sorry if I am giving all way TMI) But I read that it helps the oldies (like me!) to get safe CM as apparently we stop producing it as much as when we were in our 20s - 30s.... Just wanted to share this information.

I was down over the weekend as I have a friend who has given birth to a beautiful little girl. I was wondering if I will ever have another little bundle of joy in my arms. After feeling sorry for myself for like ever I dusted myself down and thought I can do this and it won't be long. If not I will be happy with my lot. Someone please stop me from ttc if I am still here when I am 60!! okay rant over.

Speak to ya all soon
Cindy

Broodzilla Welcome, its a lovely place here people are so friendly. I think you have not ovulated yet, so keep checking with OPK sticks. Which one's do you have. I brought a load from amazon, they are small little tabs but are great for just checking without feeling you have thrown a whole load of money down the toilet! When they look like they are positive, I do a double check with Clearblue or a Boots ovulation stick. I carry on testing even when the test turns pinks, to see when the surge ends - I know you shouldn't but I am sad, like that!!

Becky So happy for you, what wonderful news now you can enjoy your pg. Do keep us posted on how you are getting along.

Pezz Goodluck with your scan.

WanabeMum · 11/01/2009 22:04

Hi ladies,

Congrats on the scan Becky that's fab news. Please stick around and keep us updated on how you're doing!

Funtime i had no idea your mc was so traumatic (obviously a mc is traumatic, but not having anything there after believing for 12 weeks is aweful!). Fingers crossed that your right boob is the good signal!

Jools hot flushes at night, sounds familiar! I'm sat here as i type too hot to have my slippers on and that is unheard of for me! my feet are always like ice but i'm actually sweating! (nice!). Plus i've peed ssssoooo many times today i'm actually sick of the sight of my own bathroom! It's weird, it felt a little like a water infection this morning but as the day has gone on it's just like needing the loo often, and i actually wee quite a lot when i do go. In comparison to what i drank today (about 5 drinks total!) it's ridiculous! BUT i'm only 5DPO so not counting my chickens just yet

Welcome to our newest member Broodzilla, what a fab name! You'll get loads of useful advice from the ladies on here, they have been like my support group and believe me, sometimes it's a lifeline! this whole ttc lark isn't as easy as it seems!

Broodzilla · 11/01/2009 21:39

Thank you ladies! Will keep dipping... and BDing... and hoping!

Pezz will think about you tomorrow!

smileycat · 11/01/2009 21:27

Becky it must now feel so good to be pg, now that you are over the 12 week stage & having been a wk further on must be really settling for you, enjoy it the 2nd trimester is supose to be the best for you.

Broodzilla I OV'd on CD9 the month that I got a BFP so there is hope for you

Pezz good luck with your scan tomorrow, my fingers & toes are all crossed for you that all goes well

yellowflowers · 11/01/2009 20:30

hi broodzilla - I think opk can be faint at anytime hence only being positive when it is as dark or darker than control line - so you probably haven't ovulated yet - keep dipping those sticks.
x

Broodzilla · 11/01/2009 19:57

Congratulations Becky!

Well, I'm confused. I had a faint line on an OV stick yesterday (as I did on the same day last month, before getting a strong line the day after) but today... nothing. Not even a squinty little faint one. The stick is as white as it can be.

I don't get it. I've not missed a surge (I ordered a bumper pack of OPKs and I've been bored so um, I've been dipping the sticks pretty much all day...)

I don't know what's going on. Surely I can't have picked up a tail-end of a surge on day 7? That's too early...

Didn't help that I then googled "early ovulation" and came up with a load of stuff about the egg not being mature enough to sustain a pregnancy that early (there was me all happy to have a short cycle as the wait isn't as long...)

SO - any other early OVers out there? Anyone who's actually got a BFP? (aaaanndd... any magic remedies I don't know about?)

(If anyone thinks I'm getting way ahead of myself with the stressing, I must explain that there is a reason other than being impatient for us wanting to get a BFP asap... I'm on a contract, and will only get maternity leave if it happens within the next few months...)

funtimewincies · 11/01/2009 19:34

Great news Becky and so pleased that all is well .

I don't think that your response to the unknown was out of order and was totally understandable. I was the opposite, went into the dating scan (at 13 weeks) joking with dh about it being twins because I'd been so sick. The sonographer was all quiet at the start, as they usually are, and then her assistant said 'shall I take a picture of that' and I knew something was wrong. No baby, no foetal pole, no sack. Nothing except a lovely thick placenta (hence the sickness). I waited 2 weeks to miscarry naturally but had to give in and have an ERPC at nearly 16 weeks.

I think, had I even entertained the notion that all was not well, I'd have screamed my head off! Sorry, didn't meant to get all maudlin .

Please stay while you're preggers and keep us updated and hopeful !

Joolsiam · 11/01/2009 19:13

Fab news Becky

I think I was the last one to leave my antenatal thread, so probably the latest mc on there

I'll be a complete wreck for a dating scan and will probably try and work it so I have a "reassurance" scan at 8 weeks and maybe a private scan in between that and a nuchal

I've been thinking about it all loads though (obsessed, moi !!) and went through all my posts on the antenatal boards - I had some brown spotting one afternoon at around 7 weeks but thought nothing of it - had around half an hour of more painful cramps the next day and my low level nausea disappeared. Maybe this was a MMC that happened then ? I guess I'll never know - my boobs stayed sore till I actually miscarried 4.5 weeks later.

Still very weepy today (watched the Horse Whisperer) - no other symptoms though.

BeckyMcG · 11/01/2009 18:51

Good evening ladies, I went for 12 week scan on Friday and all was well. However I had a big (hysterical ) rant to DH in the car as I was saying how anxious I was that something would be wrong and we'd have nearly made it through the safe period. He was really blasé and said that after the last scan he was sure it'd be fine. I just didn't feel like that and kept thinking of you jools. I had a bit of a melt down involving a bit of screaming. Anyway - eventually I calmed down a bit and after the scan just felt so relieved and emotional I then couldn't stop crying - I apologized to DH and later in the evening when I was laughing at a joke he made he said I was like Jeckyl and Hyde!! which I guess I was a bit. Anyway - woke with a smile on my face on Saturday and after ringing the girls I was going to dinner with on Saturday night to tell them the good news they bought me a 'super mama' cosmetic kit with tummy rub etc to celebrate. I felt emotional when they surprised me with it!!
I thought I was 12+5 and the scan has put me at 13+1 with a due date of 16th July. I am now finally ready to believe I am having a baby! wow - a whole new set of worries.....

funtimewincies · 10/01/2009 19:20

Broodzilla - you know how to live !

SS Prt 2 (probably 3/4 DPO) - strong period-like cramps and backache for most of the afternoon.

Last month at this itme I'd convinced myself that I was, I think that my body might be playing the same tricks this month too .

Jools - getting very hot at night has been an early symptom with all my bfps!

Broodzilla · 10/01/2009 17:55

Jools, I never have any boobage, before or after OV (or AF for that matter). I can't wait to see what happens should I ever get my BFP as my boobies seem to be totally disconnected from the rest of me.

Speaking of which, funtimewincies I think right-boob is trying to tell you something!

I'm still a spluttering mess, but having dipped a stick this PM, can't put of the BD any more, as I now have a faint line. I seem to pick up the faint line a day or two before the surge, so must get jiggy with it even though it's the last thing I feel like doing. (And trust me I'm such a state that, I'd be surprised if DH's swimmers don't just take one look at me and swim the other way...)

Anyway, DH doesn't seem to be too bothered (are men ever?) and just shrugged his shoulders and told me that all I have to do is turn up and he'll take care of the rest.

I'll be lining up the Grapefruitjuice shots in the kitchen!
What a wild Saturday night!

Joolsiam · 10/01/2009 15:24

Welcome back Spats

Funtime - thanks for the boob info I did start a thread about it, but as always when I start a thread in conception, its been ignored !!

I think my first born ought to be named "Clearblue"

Symptom spotting part 2345 - uncontrollable sobbing when watching the episode of ER I Sky +'ed earlier in the week and getting too hot overnight and kicking off the duvet for 3 nights running, despite the arctic temperatures outside.

Probably only 4 or 5 DPO though, so I'm not hopefull !

spats · 09/01/2009 20:44

I have been away for so long. I had a bit of time out from mumsnet as think i was getting bit obsessed with it and ttc. DId BD this month but not been well for last 5 weeks with cold after cold, now fallen over on ice and sprained ankle!! Anyway trying to catch up with news. Congrats to all BFP, some names recognise some don't. WIll add myself to list in few days as waiting for AF arrive. Lost complete track of my cycle , think she was due today but maybe tomorrow. I am not one of these people that test before AF due, i wait until i know i am probably a week late. Getting a bit sick of knicker checking and going to the loo for a wipe though!! Actuall ythis month is the worst one for me ( although if it happens of course it will be fab) so not stressing too much. x

funtimewincies · 09/01/2009 19:03

And sorry to hear about AF Ilove - hugs and choccie.

funtimewincies · 09/01/2009 19:02

Lol wanabe - without blind optimism (fingers in ears, la, la, la) I would be rocking in a corner by now !

Jools - I don't get boob pain either when I ov, just left boob pain before my period (only left tube remaining, wonder if there's a connection ) which brings me to...

Symptom spotting Part 1 (about 3 DPO) - sore right boob.

Welcome Broodzilla - lol at a baby called Kleenex. I think that I'll name my next one Tropicana .
