Hi everyone I have started a new thread... hope you like the new home, this is where it will all happen. (Cindy opens a bottle of champagne) Here's a drink to all and to our month ofthe BFP... .... baby dust all around ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Broodzilla - what you said was so lovely and so true!

cindy - I did a bit of reading up about OPKs yesterday and it was saying that some people get a quick surge whilst others get a longer, more gradual one. So perhaps the four positives were linked to that?

I still don't know whether or not I've ov'd due to ambigious opk results, also while quite wet down there (tmi!) no EWCM...I reckon it will happen in the next few days so will keep BDing every two days...

Also did a bit of research on ttc and orgasms - the consensus seems to be they go very well together

C1NDY · 16/01/2009 09:10

I guess I am now on the 2WW... lets hope time flys by... lets hope we all get BFPs (Cindy throws baby dust to all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~)

Spats there are two Robitsun cough mixtures being sold.. which one did you select. If I don't get a BFP this month then I am going to use it next month.

Broodzilla what a wonderful thing to say... I'm touched, thank you for your lovely words

Jools goush, it sounds really positive. I have everything crossed for you!! let me know when you test

Quite a few of you are testing so please let us have the results when they are in... this is the exciting bit.

I had something strange thing happen to me. As I told you all I am a real OPK junkie... well my sticks turned pink on CD13... but as a nutter i tested again on CD14.. the stick was pink... then tested on CD15 and yes the stick was pink again - same consistancy as CD13... then being sad as I am tested on CD16 and yes all signs of another positive.. both line were the same colour but a little less coloured pink. I may test again tonight... but does this mean that I have not ovulated yet and that I just have a very high L-thingy surge [humm]. Has anyone experienced this?? do I have faulty sticks??

spats · 16/01/2009 08:58

C1ndy - i used robitsun (something like that) and used the DH plan last month. This month i had been feeling so poorly with virus that we sort of BD and then the day before the OPK was pos and the day it was pos and then couldn't be bothered to do anymore and what do you know that is the month i get a BFP. All the month buying vits, EPO, cough syrup and it didn't work.
Pezz, i know what you mean about no symtoms. My PMT symptoms changed each month from tingling boobs to pains i thought were inbedding and each time they changed i thought ths is it. This month there were no pains and no tingling boobs. I am not 1 to test early so did leave about a week and by then my boobs were overspilling my bra . Now i have to go get a new size. Also at night boobs so sore can't take bra off -ouch- x

Joolsiam · 16/01/2009 08:47

Oh, and I meant to say to Broodzilla - what a lovely thing to say I feel it too - I only discovered MNet in July, but would be lost now without somewhere to have girlie chats with lots of TMI

Another CM question - sorry if TMI - I'm very very wet down there all the time, so much so that I keep going for a knicker check to see what is going on - not creamy though - just wet and almost odourless (slight sweet smell) Is this possibly a symptom ? I can't remember that one from last time ??

Joolsiam · 16/01/2009 08:44

lol Funtime !! I love coming to the Wales offices - people are so much more relaxed and friendly than in London - even the taxi drivers !!

If you ever wanted a real life meet and are anywhere near the train line to Swansea, let me know

Wanabe - those are MAJOR symptoms I never had the creamy cm last time - just a teeny yellow blob one day (had a teeny teeny bit of the creamy stuff once last week) but have read loads about it - as for windy I was blowing a gale last time !!

Still not sure here - the very very very mild abdominal twinges come and go. Felt sicky this morning after brekkie in the hotel and struggled to eat as much as normal. I had vaguely itchy boobs last night ... Who knows - am on the home stretch now I think at 9 or 10 DPO. If my cycle is back to normal, AF should arrive on Monday or Tuesday and I normally get some pre AF spotting. Am going to try and hold out till Tuesday if I can ... I'd rather see AF arrive than see a BFN

smileycat · 16/01/2009 08:14

Wanabe wind is def a symptom. I'm now 7 wks & have only just got over it about 3/5 days before I was due AF I got really windy & just kept telling DH that it was the babies fault (didn't know I was pg then but felt better blaming it) & after I got a +ive it got worse, really bad sometimes & just kept popping out at the most inappropriate moments & when I say popping I mean popping I real pop sound (not like me at all)

and lotion like cm is a def too I'm still getting oodles of it now, it takes knicker checking to a new level as you feel wet all the time & hope that its not anything worse everytime you visit the loo

Talking about that I've had a little bit of pink the last two mornings but I worked out my dates & if this month was another 21 day cycle I would be due about now, so not too worried as I know you can have a sort of period when AF is due & I only have the normal stretchy cramps not AF pains

Wasabi how are you today x

Broodzilla · 15/01/2009 20:22

Just wanted to say something. You know, I'm all new to this, so I can't/won't even try to say that the TTC has got me down, at least anywhere near as much as it must get to you once your months or years in... BUT I have been feeling pretty low lately, as well as feeling really crap physically due to the god-awful manflu that has taken up permanent residence in my head and chest.

But. Without fail, every single time (and that's many a time...) that I log on here and have a little look around, (despite sometimes making me cry, which generally just comes with being me rather than being a sympton!) but I've never, ever, been on here without at least a smile, and I've been known to giggle out loud at you all.

So - while I'm waiting for the latest OPK to line up, I just wanted to say a massive, ginormous big

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mumsnet is a ray of sunshine!

WanabeMum · 15/01/2009 20:10

When is too early to test? I'm only 8DPO and im thinking maybe 11DPO is too early?

Feeling very strange and possibly the most positive i have felt so far but that in itself is scaring me. I don't think i can stop myself from getting excited at the posibility but at the same time, the higher i get the harder i fall right?

Grrrrr why am i doing this to myself?? the 2ww is a rollercoaster of emotional torture!!!!

WanabeMum · 15/01/2009 20:06

lol you're so funny! I like that one, will have to use that i think.

Just reading other people's success stories (dangerous i know) and apparently gas is a symptom, so is creamy white cm, and "stretching" feelings in the lower abdomen interesting!!

funtimewincies · 15/01/2009 19:58

No lol, just she tends to demand 'princess and the pea' thickness levels of 'mattress' for the first few days !

WanabeMum · 15/01/2009 19:37

Umm, yeah Sunday sounds like a plan. I should be 11DPO then so may be able to console myself slightly if its BFN and test again next Wednesday which will be 14DPO if the witch hasn't arrived!

Lol at the "preparing the spare room" are you banished when the witch is around?

funtimewincies · 15/01/2009 19:35

WanabeMum · 15/01/2009 19:21

Oooh almost forgot (how rude of me!) CONGRATULATIONS spats!!!!!!!!!!!
And please stick around to keep us posted on your progress xx

WanabeMum · 15/01/2009 19:20

Funtime i agree about the odd Welsh people (i'm welsh too!).

C'mon ladies, no negativity just yet, you have a few days to go before you can give up the ghost! Positive thoughts please!!
Could be many things. Jools any updates on the cramps?

Wasabi you seem like such a strong lady! I'm very impressed by your attitude and i completely believe in the power of positive thought. It may not "make" something happen but it certainly does a lot less harm than negative thoughts which can bring you down. Keep your chin up honey, we are all rooting for you xxx

Well for me the symptom spotting continues ..... i had creamy white CM yesterday and today (tmi!), and some very, very mild cramps last night and today, sort of like waves . Also, ahem, i've been a bit windy of late much to DH's amusement (not sure if that's a symptom but still).
Still no metallic taste although i did imagine that earlier at work, im almost positive it wasn't! And no sore boobs, although i only ever get slightly tender ones around AF and that isn't every month so who knows??

Any advise ladies?

funtimewincies · 15/01/2009 18:44

It's just not fair, I hate it too Jools ! Did a pretty sensitive test from t'internet with first wee this morning (10 miu/ml) and got a bfn. Now by my reckoning, if the symptoms were real I would show up at least that in my urine, i.e. enough hormone sloshing around to cause symptoms. Therefore it is all in my mind.

I hoped that by proving this to myself, the symptoms would stop. But they haven't and i was dry-retching while making ds' tea (sorry TMI).

Jools, if you see a dishevelled and slightly unhinged looking woman, shouting rude words while you're in Wales, it could well be me (or not, we're all a bit odd round here) .

Joolsiam · 15/01/2009 14:21

Hi Ladies

busy busy busy today - had to travel up to Wales, so early start and straight into meetings. It took my mind off things, but also makes me think my symptom spotting is nothing but hope and desire this month I didn't even get to eat lunch till 2pm but wasn't hungry or nauseous or dizzy - all that has started now I've sat down and eaten, so maybe it is all in the mind

I kept wondering on the train if I was noticing smells that I wouldn't normally but can't decide. 9DPO today - previously, I had a 13 day luteal phase with one spot of brown at 9DPO, a couple at 11DPO, lots at 12DPO and then the main event. So, if I don't get my pre-AF warning soon, then I'll start wondering again.

Gaaaahhh - in the time taken to write this and reply to an email, my abdomen has started cramping again. I HATE the 2WW !!!!!!

C1NDY · 15/01/2009 13:00

Wasabi I am sure I speak for all the ladies on here, that we are thinking of you and our fingers are crossed that you get some positive results. (hugs)

Morning everyone,

Firstly congratulations Spats!! That is fab news - another BFP to add to the colllection.

Jools and funtime - I hope your symptom spotting turns out to be accurate.

Smiley - it was very kind of you to consider me before posting your great news. Ultimately though this is a conception thread and the fact that we mainly choose to stick around after getting a BFP means that people will be a different stages - some happy and some not. Even though I may be going through a difficult time it doesn't mean I can't be happy for someone else who has just seen their little bean for the 1st time. On the contrary, it cheers me up and gives me hope.

Well I left work early yesterday because I had a bit of brown spotting and was convinced the inevitable was starting. I stocked up on pads and painkillers and came home. And then it stopped.

My body is playing some very cruel tricks. I have been talking to the bean again this morning and telling it to get its act together. Its odd - I should be 8 + 1 today and that is a time that a lot of people get some spotting because its around the time your AF would be due. I did get some spotting around this time with ds as I recall.

I am feeling oddly positive today. Last night I accepted the inevitable and relaxed properly for the 1st time since we had the scan. Today I feel that perhaps it wasn't inevitable. My body sure as hell seems determined to hang on to this pregnancy so maybe there's a reason for that. I did some counting back and it could be if I ov'd late and it implanted a few days later then then 6 and half weeks or so isn't entirely impossible for me to be getting that dates that I am. I certainly did used to have the odd long cycle which would presumably be caused by late ov.

Anyway, I can't do anything about it until I get that 2nd blood test back on Saturday morning so until then I am just going to try and relax.

Have a lovely day everyone xx

Pezzina · 15/01/2009 09:45

Symptoms are funny things. When I got my BFP I had hardly any symptoms at all - especially compared to previous months when I had everything going. Everyone is different - I think you have a 'feeling' that you could be pregnant though - I definitely did.

C1NDY · 15/01/2009 08:59

Wasabi I am thinking of you at this difficult time (big hugs)

Smiley How wonderful to see your little bean.

Spats congratulations!! For your BFP, we are doing really well on this thread. By the way what cough syrup was you using??? Did you follow the DP?

Morning ladies I've just spent the last 10 mins reading back through this thread to see what my symptoms were during Dec. I thought I'd list what I said to see if it helps with the ladies who are symptom spotting this month.
DPO4 I said that I got a couple of sharp pains in my cervix area & another one when we tried to BD but was ok after that

DPO7 said I felt really bloated & had really bad cramps like I was going to get AF
& I also told one of the girls that my boobs were sore but not as sore as they had been for the last 3 months ie I didn't have to suport them when jogging down the stairs like I usually do leading upto AF
Thats all changed now since becoming pg as they hurt like hell all the time

I know everyone has different symptoms but just thought I would give you an insight into mine

Been full of cold all wk & now on my chest so feeling a little sorry for myself today, but still in high spirts from yesterdays scan. I'm off work today so taking it easy & having a duvet day in front of the TV & computer

Wasabi any news hun thinking of you xx

Joolsiam · 14/01/2009 19:47

Funtime - that makes 3 of us in the middle of the 2WW I think Surely at least one of us has to be lucky ?

I started feeling really dizzy and nauseous so left work early - as soon as I got out into the fresh air, I was fine - came home, had a bath and gave myself a good talking to. Even though I keep spotting symptoms, I don't have the main one - sore boobs, so think I must be imagining everything

funtimewincies · 14/01/2009 19:28

Blimey, it's been busy here!

Congratulations to spats and smiley, fabulous news all round .

Thinking of you wasabi and hope that you find out something either way soon, it's just horrible waiting .

Can I join you in obsessing-corner Jools? It's day 24 in the symptom-spotting house (about 8 dpo I think). I'm making a note of any perceived symptoms as I have a theory that because I've been pg so many time, my mind knows my symptoms and has started to manufacture them exactly when I'm not actually pregnant. I've had sore boobs, abdominal cramps, feeling hung-over morning and early evening, nausea when driving and buckets of saliva. I also found the cat food a little 'ripe' yesterday .

I'm sure that I'm not pg, just that my body has started to gang up on me .
