Hi everyone I have started a new thread... hope you like the new home, this is where it will all happen. (Cindy opens a bottle of champagne) Here's a drink to all and to our month ofthe BFP... .... baby dust all around ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

yellow - absolutely. as soon as DH is hope I intend to pounce.

How are you? Any more symptoms? I read about your higher than normal temp. I don't temp (yet!) so don't quite understand it but thought it sounded good.
x

queenie1 · 21/01/2009 19:08

villagemum - can completely understand. here's hoping for a good scan next week to re-ignite your excitment.

pezzina - hoping for a good scan for you too!

I just want to have a moment. I think it's amazing that this thread has people at all stages and that we can continue to support each other regardless of what we are personally experiencing or going through. That we can have people BDing like mad and trying to conceive, together with people who have recently had awful news, plus people who are PG and feeling both excited and anxious about it is so good. It's a good reminder that ttc is not a linear experience and I think it really helps being able to stay here and share what is happening with each other - whether it be excitment or sadness or just continual hope and encouragement. So love to you all .

Now...must get back to boring work before

yellowflowers · 21/01/2009 19:04

Hi queenie - worth a bd today or in the morning as well just in case as per dp.

queenie1 · 21/01/2009 18:57

She says she's mad busy with work but can never quite resist the lure of our lovely thread!!

Hope you are all well today.

After my OPK surge on 19th (which I got so over excited about!), I'm kind of assuming I ov'd late last night. So I'm counting today as 1DPO. This is the first time I've said this with any type of conviction which feels serious progress. Given this, I think my AF might come a bit later than I said before (at least I'm hoping - otherwise some serious LP defects going on ).

So I'm updating the list based on an LP of about 10-11 days meaning I reckon I'm due my AF on about Feb 1st / 2nd.

Funtimewincies AF due 18/19th Jan
Lovelymonster Af due 26th January
Cindy AF due 29th January DP - cycle 4
Pinkie08 due 30th Jan clomid and DP

Broodzilla AF due 30 Jan
Queenie AF due 1st/2nd Feb

BeckyMcG BFP
BoosieBoo BFP
Sn0wflake BFP
Villagemum BFP

iggypiggy · 21/01/2009 14:53

Such fab news Wannabe

our BFP list is very long on here - so am hoping is a lucky thread

I don't have much to report - have been rubbish this month - so don't think am officially going to be on the 2ww this month - but still a bit of BD action to go.. so will see...

Am having a shocking week - so apols for not being on here much

Big hello to all of you tho - and extra hugs for wasabi xx

smileycat · 21/01/2009 14:39

Wanabe Fantastic news you must be feeling so excited, but its also so hard not to be worried at the same time as the others have said its more likely to be a healthy pregnancy than not so enjoy your BFP

I've added my EDD date, well what I think it will be & will confirm when I have my 12wk dating scan

VillageMum · 21/01/2009 14:37

Cindy and all you other lovely ladies, hello! Just popping in to say HUGE congratulations to the BFPs - there seems to be a whole lot of babydust on this thread!

I'm a little over 8 weeks now, feeling awful (nauseous) and much lower than I expected - thought I'd cope OK with being pg again after my mc, but it's proving to be a tough ride. I just have so many fears of it all going wrong again, and the hormonal spin cycle I seem to be on doesn't help. We had a scan at 7 weeks and saw bean with heartbeat, but the reassurance of that has worn off now - I have another scan this Saturday and just hope and pray that things will still be OK. Anyway I'm thinking of all of you! x

Joolsiam · 21/01/2009 13:54

I tried to TTC 2 weeks after the MC and drove myself, and probably everyone on here mad trying to second guess what my body was doing - I felt so out of control because I am so used to things happening like clockwork and knowing (almost to the hour) when ov pains will start etc etc. I feel much more in control now that I hope my cycle is back to normal, so can empathise with ppl wanting to do it that way. With hindsight, I think waiting is healthier and I think I was unlucky in having to wait almost 10 weeks for my first proper AF - probably a result of the later mc / higher PG hormones I guess.

C1ndy - would love a diet buddy Counsellor hasn't got back to me yet so I don't know what diet I'll be doing yet - will see what she recommends

wasabipeanut · 21/01/2009 13:45

Yes, I have decided to wait if for no other reason that I need to know I'm functioning normally again. The dating of it is important to me as well - what I can't bear is the thought of getting pg straight away, going for a scan and then the same thing happening but me not knowing for sure when I ovulated. It would just be too much.

For mine and dh's sake a one cycle wait is in order I think.

Which will be a bit of a bugger as I won't be able to join in with all the ttc talk and 2ww and at the rate you lot are going you will all have BFP's by then!

C1NDY · 21/01/2009 13:41

Jools I am going to go on it too. Can we be Cambridge buddies or something and compare notes?? Are you going on the full packs or three packs and a dinner?

OP posts:
C1NDY · 21/01/2009 13:40

Wasabi when I had a MC I read a lot of material on when ttc again and the best answer I got was to wait for at least one cylce... if I can remember it went something like this... we all have eggs in our system.. which a couple mature and go in the follicles (or something) they need our cycle to mature and be ready for conception. If you didn't wait for your next cycle how do you know that your system is working again.

But, yes there is always a BUT... saying all this, I did read that loads of women got pg after their MC and had healthy babies. But I decided to wait... just in case.

So do what feel right for you.

x

WanabeMum · 21/01/2009 13:08

Hey Jools nope it still hasn't sunk in yet,, think our posts crossed.

I'm still feeling very weird about it all but it's a nice weird tho!

Joolsiam · 21/01/2009 12:48

Wasabi - I was told by the midwife at the EPU to ideally wait one cycle so that it is easier to date the next pregnancy. I don't think there is any other medical reason. I was told not to BD for 2 weeks though because of the risk of infection from the cervix being open.

My GP told me to go for it asap, as you are more fertile just after a miscarriage and scans can always confirm dates !!

wasabipeanut · 21/01/2009 12:43

Thanks for your answer Jools in mc forum. I know you still post there quite a lot - you have been lovely in sharing your experience so at least others know what to expect. I think I will try work tomorrow unless something drastic happens overnight.

Thanks for inviting me to Emmsys Angels thread. It may sound silly but at the moment I don't want to dwell on what's happenned too much. I know I can't just magic it away but I just want to put it behind me. I might be slightly in denial I don't know. I want to ttc straight away but dh says we should wait one cycle as the doctor told us this morning. I guess it wouldn't hurt too much to wait 4-6 weeks or so. Gives me more time to get match fit as it were.

Joolsiam · 21/01/2009 12:27

Forgot to say to C1ndy - yes, VillageMum is around - pops in occasionally in the miscarriage forum. She is OK - just normal early preg tiredness and grottiness I think

As for the Cambridge Diet - have never tried it before. It does say you can't do it when PG, but I'm guessing that for TTC it is fine. I've done the Atkins diet before and this is along similar principles, ie putting the body in ketosis to burn off fat more quickly. The difference is that you are not risking losing any essential nutrients or struggling to put together a low carb meal because it is all done for you in shakes and meal bars. I think it works out at just under £40 per week - I'm guessing I'd spend pretty much that on food and snacks anyway, so it seems good value to me - will let you know I hope they get in touch soon - I'd really like to start asap so that, if I did get a BFP in mid Feb, at least I've had 3 - 4 weeks of diet

WanabeMum · 21/01/2009 12:05

Aww thanks everyone!!

Wasabi don't be silly, remember this thread is through thick and thin so ask away, someone is bound to be able to help or at least direct you to someone who can?

I will worry, that's just my nature, but I'm still planning on enjoying every minute. The adrenalin is still coursing through my veins to the extent that I feel quite sick and off my food today (not stopping me from having a roast turkey dinner tho! ) but that's mainly because we are telling the parents tonight! eek!!
Tried to book a doctor's appointm, ent because we want it confirmed by blood test but the surgery is full so i have to ring back Friday and she will "try" and fit me in next week! Can't wait that long (impatience is another part of my nature!).

Anyway, people in work are looking at me funny because the smile on my face just wont budge!

Fingers crossed for more BFP's and C1ndy the due date idea is good but not sure what that is just yet (think I'm 5 weeks and one of those calculators showed an EDD of 24th September!). As soon as it's confirmed I will add though!

TTFN everyone xxxx

Joolsiam · 21/01/2009 11:58

Wasabi - I have replied to your post over there - am not stalking you, honest !! The miscarriage forum, and particularly the Emmsys Angels thread are my second home at the moment You would be very welcome if you wanted to join us there aswell

Still waiting for the diet counsellor to get in touch but went to see my chiropractor this morning - she has sorted my back out again and we had a lovely chat about life, the universe and everything - she is probably the only RL person I can say anything to, so she got the ins and outs of the MC in all its gory detail and we discussed TTC etc. She reckons I have a nice broad pelvis and will have no problems giving birth and am unlikely to get SPD All I need now then is that BFP !!

You can probably tell that AF has departed and taken her little black dog with her, so I'm feeling quite a lot better - amazing what effect hormones have on you Am having lots of uterine twinges now though for some strange reason.

Has it sunk in yet Wanabe

wasabipeanut · 21/01/2009 11:33

Congratulations Wanabe
That's such great news.

I know this may not sound great coming from me at the moment but you should try not to worry about your bean. The fact is that the odds are overwhelmingly in favour of life. Where there is life there will always be a tiny element of risk but that's, well, life. Try and enjoy this early stage - while you can still fit into your jeans!

C1ndy - your idea re due dates is lovely I think and hopefully will encourage people to stick around.

Funtime - thanks for your wise words. Maudlin muggings is an excellent expression! I am feeling ok at the moment about things - almost too ok. I have a feeling that when my hormone levels start to plummet that could change. I couldn't leave this group now - I am too attached! Anyway, as you are now officially late I have my fingers crossed for you too! I know you said you don't really "feel" pg but then it is very early days potentially.

Jools - the cambridge diet thing sounds like a really constructive thing to do. You go girl!

Well, I had my hospital appt this morning but I'm not going to dwell on it here - doesn't feel right after Wanabes great news. I am going to post a question on the mc section as obviously I forgot to ask all the important ones while I was actually in with the doc

yellowflowers · 21/01/2009 10:53

I don't quite understand it but based on today's temp Fertility Friend changed my ovulation day from day 16 to day 18. In a way this is better because we BD'd day 13/16/18 so if it was day 18 then more chance of sperm being there ready and waiting, but am still a it confused and miffed because it means can test later than I wanted to.

btw is thirst a symptom - I've had a raging thirst today and yesterday

yellowflowers · 21/01/2009 10:46

That's great news wannabe - oh wow - am hugely pleased for you.

And great stuff cindy brilliant idea about due dates on this list. I love that it is ttc and ante natal all at once. We should get heeby and nelix and the others back.
x

Pezzina · 21/01/2009 10:02

Congratulations Wanabe!!!!!! Wooohoooo! Fabulous news

You are right though - the TTC worries will be replaced by the first 12 week worries. I'm trying to take it one day at a time but I'm still really nervous about my early scan on Saturday.

Hello to everyone else - anyone planning on testing soon?

C1NDY · 21/01/2009 08:47
