girlwithacurl, if AF hasn't arrived by Xmas day then maybe just enjoy the feeling of knowing that it's increasingly likely that you are indeed pg... and then test Boxing Day!

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2008 10:42

Well actually that's a lie. That is what I would want to do but probbaly wouldn't be able to stop myself testing

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2008 10:41

gwac, personally I would stay in blissful ignorance over Christmas

girlwithacurl · 12/12/2008 10:30

Vjay at you turning into crazy B*$&h... it do that every month though so who's to know!

I am due to test on christmas eve/christmas day... this could be a really bad thing as if bfn then christmas day, although good excuse to get drunk and wallow... alternativly could be the best christmas present ever. So question is, do I test on christmas day and risk it (assuming AF doesn't decide to come for the holidays that is!)?

VillageMum · 11/12/2008 21:43

No problem olivo; I wasn't a student at Durham but have happy memories of it too, using the uni archives on research (years and years ago now...) Great news about FF!

VJay, I'm 7 days PO. We shouldn't expect any symptoms really until implantation has finished, which normally only takes place somewhere between days 6-12 post ov and in most cases only after day 8 PO. It's only then that the bean begins to interact with the mother's body and hcg enters the bloodstream. So I know that all my symptom spotting so far is poppycock!

olivo · 11/12/2008 20:29

ah, just missed you - graduated in 96!
oops -sorry, all, for hijacking!
as you were!

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2008 20:26

me too - was a student from 97 to 2000 and now work near the hospital!

olivo · 11/12/2008 20:26

ahem, 'scuse my lack of coherence! I meant many happy memories!

olivo · 11/12/2008 20:25

in the city mostly, and then bought a house in Fram. I have very happy ( and many slightly embarassing !)days of my student life there . where are you?

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2008 20:07

Glad you have ovulated btw - sorry I'm not very good with all the terminology etc

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2008 20:07

Wow, where abouts?

olivo · 11/12/2008 19:58

hello everyone. I am pleased to report that FF has told me i am 7DPO and that i did probably ovulate when i thought i had! all that worrying for nothing! However, no symptoms for me so far.
stealth - I spent 10 happy years in Durham and still go back about once a year or so.

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 11/12/2008 18:56

I am DPO6, CD22. What is the earliest that symptoms start appearing?
What DPO are you vm

2many and VJay, glad it's not just me obsessing then... The funny thing is that I felt nauseous pretty much constantly during my last two cycles, following my mc (when we deliberately steered clear of ttc and I KNEW I couldn't possibly be pg!) and now that we're ttc and I might actually be pg I feel hungry... maybe it's just due to all that physical activity?

How many days post ov are you both?

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 11/12/2008 18:03

Oh and my DH says I'm pg because I'm turning into a nazzy b@*#h and I've done this everytime. Poor dh.

OP posts:
VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 11/12/2008 18:01

I would tell you to get a grip 2many but I'm the same. The obsessing is slowly beginning, even though I promised myself it wouldn't aaaarrrrggggghhh!

OP posts:
2manychips · 11/12/2008 17:58

I'm getting little dizzy spells....I got them early with dd and with my cp. Yes I can feel the obsessing is beginning. Tell me to get a grip!

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 11/12/2008 16:11

Hello everyone, hope you are all being patient!!
vm, I am feeling a bit sicky, but it's because I'm hungry, which is the only symptom so far, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I'm away the weekend of testing, so I think I'll wait until the 22nd when I get back, that's only 11 days away .
Is anyone else having any symptoms?

OP posts:
VillageMum · 11/12/2008 13:19

VJay, meant to ask you what symptoms you're having! The only reliable changes I've detected in myself (that is, ones which definitely aren't the product of my imagination) are a sudden, ravenous appetite, whereas I've had no appetite for three months since my mc, and daily creamy cm way past ov. But these could be due to other things so I'm not getting my hopes up!

VillageMum · 11/12/2008 13:10

flibberty, good luck! How wonderful to know that you have two beanies on board!

olivo, I'm sure that your dd waking you up in the night must play havoc with your temps. Great to hear that you've ov'd! I really have no clear idea of when to test because I ov'd a few days early so will just wait and see what happens... if no AF after the 23rd or so then I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and test.

Stealth, do you use early detection hpts then? Can they really tell you anything before 10/12 days or so post ov? (Don't know much about these things!)

StealthPolarBear · 10/12/2008 21:55

hi everyone
I know what you mean 2please - I just need to be able to plan stuff!
LadyMetroland where are you? I live in Durham

twoplease · 10/12/2008 21:52

good luck flibberty - will keep everything crossed for you.

wish i could get my head round temping as it would be good to know when ov for definate as i am really not getting on with opks - i think drink too much water to get +'s - does that sound likely? think my dh would balk at temping too - he thinks we are 'trying' too hard already!! that's unfair on him but its so frustrating month after month not being able to make plans for the future isn't it?

not holding out much hope this month as i have sort of 'given up' we are still bding but have let myself have one or two more coffees and glasses of red than i should. remind me of that when i'm v grumpy when i get af!!!

good luck anyone testing soon

flibbertywidget · 10/12/2008 21:32

Hi all
I am back from our IVF in Ireland, with two beanies on board., test date is 21st dec. I have a little girl 19 mo. so am busy with her, but trying to take it easy. I think surrealist poetry sounds like a good option.

back to the cramps and twinges and knickers

smileycat · 10/12/2008 20:25

sunnydale I've done temps for the last few months & backed it up with peeing on a stick last month & it made me so much more relaxed last month knowing that I had actually OV'd & when so that I knew when to expect my AF
