Hello ISpy, love your Christmas name . I'm going to test tomorrow, but won't be able to let any of you know until Monday as I'm going away tomorrow for the weekend. Good luck to the rest of you testing over the weekend. Can't wait to log back in on monday and see all your wonderful BFP's.

OP posts:
ISpyAMincePie · 18/12/2008 12:56

you are so right, I can pretend all I like that I will wait till after christmas day, but first I will decide to buy a test 'in case I can't get to a shop' and then, at some point my resolve will weaken in the hope I get good news !!

stealth - about 8yrs ago now, only been back once or twice, but it is such a beautiful place, (well, with the odd blot on the landscape like the student union...), not sure I miss the nightlife though!

girlwithacurl · 18/12/2008 09:19

Ok, please don't all shout at me, but I tested this morning. BFN obviously, and I know it was too early but I couldn't help it. Christmas party tonight and feeling generaly PMT'ish made me want to know one way or the other, but I know I shouldn't have [slap wrist emoticon]

Hello Ispy well, as you can see I am not the best person to go by, but I am now going to try to wait until xmas eve...

smileycat · 18/12/2008 07:59

I think if you are due AF over Xmas no matter what you tell yourself I bet we all test, its the thought of having the extra special pressie that will spur us on to test early when we know we shouldn't & should wait for AF. If you are late over Xmas then you won't be able to help yourself & if AF arrives you will be disappointed away so I say test away

StealthPolarBear · 18/12/2008 07:47

Hi ISpy - when were you there?
Not sure about the testing, I am so tempted to test now although it's way to early. Will probably plan to test after Christmas but then give in and test on Christmas Eve
Good luck!

ISpyAMincePie · 17/12/2008 23:39

oooh and just read the rest of the thread - a big hello from me to all the Durham/ ex-Durham peeps , was at uni there and such a lovely city (uni seems a long time ago now though!)

ISpyAMincePie · 17/12/2008 23:31

hello please can I join - cycle still settling down after coming off pill but I think AF due christmas eve !! been ttc no1 for just a couple of months, so don't think i'm going to get the christmas pressie I've been hoping for but who knows (pleeeese santa !)....

dilemma is do I try and test over christmas, ... or wait until after so I don't spend christmas feeling a bit disappointed? what are other people expecting AF around the same time doing?

StealthPolarBear · 17/12/2008 21:24

SOrry about -ve olivo - hope a retest tells a different story
Keeping fingers crossed 2many xx

olivo · 17/12/2008 20:01

2many, i really hope it works out for you. i too had bleeding early on with dd.

sunny - my dd is late august birthday !!! good luck ot you for AF staying away.
smiley - step away from the tests (if only i could follow my own advice!)

tinsel good luck!
and to everyone, lots of sticky baby dust....

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 17/12/2008 19:32

Hope that it hangs on in there 2many, eveything crossed.

Trying to stay calm now as I've been having general queasiness and that 'hung over' feeling at breakfast and early evening, which was exactly the same pattern with ds, but not with the mcs. Ds started as twins which is why I felt so pants so early. Also, if I'm on a 28 day this month rather than a 30 (it varies) then symptoms now with AF due on Sunday wouldn't be so weird.

[trying not get my hopes up emoticon]

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 17/12/2008 18:29

2many if the bleeding doesn't get too heavy it could be implantation bleeding. Do another test in a couple of days or so.
olivio and sunny according to the list you've tested too early , try again in couple of days too if af hasn't arrived, you never know, you could be pg after all.
I hope you all are, and wish you the best of luck. Throwing loads and loads of baby dust at you xxx

OP posts:
Sunnydale · 17/12/2008 17:31

Oh 2manychips I was so happy for you and poised to type "congrats" and then I read your last post. I don't know much about it, but I've heard other women bleed and still be PG. Not to get your hopes up, but one friend bled throughout her PG and has a healthy 2 year old now. Thinking of you.

Sorry too, Olivo, for your BFN. I also got one yesterday morning. I wasn't surprised, as I had no symptoms and also pretty bad flu and a temp of 103 during my fertile period, plus we only BD'd four times. I'm consoling myself that 1) an August baby would have been the youngest in its class (not that I'd have cared, obviously - just clutching at straws!) and 2) I can have a drink at Christmas. No other reasons to be glad for a BFN, and so I'll just hope for the best next month, I guess. This was only my second month of trying, but I can imagine the BFNs just get harder and harder to take as time goes on. I just hope AF comes soon, as the worst thing of all seems to be when you're stuck in limbo-land with no BFP and no AF. Anyway, baby dust to the rest of you xx

2manychips · 17/12/2008 17:18

my excitement was v short lived, after a 2nd bfp after last post I started getting pains and bleeding this afternoon. Am a bit confused and down now. Hope you other lovely ladies have better luck. x

girlwithacurl · 17/12/2008 15:21

right, fed up of no symptoms, so am going to use anything I have, however tenuouse!

I am going cross eyed... definite PG symptom and NOT because I have been sat staring at my screen for too long

my nose is itching... again, i feel this is one of those weird localised things, like getting acupucture in your shin for a shoulder ache.

Heart flutter... this is because my body is excited about what my head knows not as yet, and not because I have been eating tonnes of chocolate.

thats it for now, but I think its pretty conclusive!

smileycat · 17/12/2008 15:20

Oh nearly forgot to say yeah 2manychips fantastic news lets hope you are the 1st of many on this festive wait
