Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Hello all, and welcome Joy and Tiredmummy. Joy, I agree with your feelings about drinking and ttc - it's hard enough without spending two weeks of every month not drinking. I got drunker than I meant to on New Years Eve, but apart from that not a drop has passed my lips. In retrospect I feel really worried about New Years Eve as it was CD14 and so, technically, the day of ovulation. But it's done now - I can only be good moving forwards. I do worry it jeopardised my chances, though.
Anyway enough of that - big congrats to Minx! Your name change was indeed lucky! Check in soon and let us know how you're doing.
Well, I'm on CD21 and sympton-spotting like a maniac. On my first day back at work after the hols, I walked straight into a v stressful situation and felt it in my tummy - can't quite put it into words but it was like my ovaries / uterus felt tight from the stress - a very bizarre sensation. Since then I wake up symptom free then by evening feel the tight sensation again. I can hardly bear to hope. Terrified I am, terrified I amn't. But I have a question: when some of you talk about not testing till after AF is due, don't you ever want to know earlier - even if it doesn't stick, just to know that you weren't imagining the symptoms? Not sure if I'm making sense. Totally agree that it's better to test as late as poss, but... I dunno... if it is a "chemical" pregnancy I think I'd rather know than have it pass without ever knowing. Does that sound weird? Sorry, I'm waffling, will go now (sunnydale gets her coat)

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 19:20

I'm ok thanks bubble, not planning on testing any time soon as I've started spotting which usually means af is on her way. Not too down as I expected it after the cold from hell put paid to much of my bd plans. Will no doubt see you on the oct thread, but not going to move until I'm definitely sure (which'll probably be sometime tomorrow )

mosschops30 · 07/01/2009 19:20

I was just thinking of what nastiness I could get up to tomorrow to console myself!

Thanks bubble, will see you on October thread

bubblebell1 · 07/01/2009 19:16

how are you head? when will you be testing?? im on the oct thread now aswell but i cant leave you girls yet.. only on cd4 so gonna have a glass of baileys and then a relaxin bath before the bd marathon starts in a few days.

bubblebell1 · 07/01/2009 19:14

Moss i hope your ok. thinking of you and sending hugs yourway. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 19:08

Aw, poor love, it's rotten isn't it? Can you console yourself with some cd1 treats (large bottle glass of wine)?

mosschops30 · 07/01/2009 19:06

Thanks headfairy, I cant tell you how gutted I feel (and I feel very selfish saying that given there are people on here who have been trying for ages).

I will be keeping everything crossed for you and that BFP

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 19:04

oh so sorry to hear that moss... I'll prob be joining you on the Oct thread very soon, due on tomorrow.

mosschops30 · 07/01/2009 18:58

Well done to those of you who got BFP's this month.
Im off to the October thread, AF arived right on cue

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 18:41

So right Joy! You enjoy your wine Personally I'll be tucking in to a big plate of blue cheese tonight

Joy27 · 07/01/2009 18:33

Oh good. Am glad others have level headed approach to small glasses of wine. TBH did not abstain at christmas, even though poss conception would be Christmas Eve or thereabouts. Others may judge, but I will just stress myself out if, for half of every month, I behave as if pg just in case. I'll just convince myself I am and be crushed. That does not make for a happy me or a happy uterus. I am a woman not just a potential baby vessel!
Of course, once I get a BFP I'll be an angel.

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 18:03

I'm a real sweet tooth and add maybe a bit too much honey than is strictly good for me, but it's very soothing! Hope you feel better soon

vtiredmummy · 07/01/2009 17:01

Honey and lemon sounds fab HeadFairy - will make myself a cup now

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 17:00

You can't dislodge a baby by coughing vtiredmummy, I used to run alot and I was always concerned when I was ttc ds, but was reassured by lots of people (fertility consultant included) that running, jumping, coughing, sneezing etc etc can't affect implantation and early pregnancy. It's irritating because I've had a terrible cough too and I've avoided all cough mixtures in case. Been playing havoc with my sleep. Had lots of honey and lemon drinks which do at least soothe my poor throat, I can heartily recommend it!

vtiredmummy · 07/01/2009 16:49

Back online again...supposed to be working from home but cannot focus!

Have rotten cough at mo - can I ask a stupid question can coughing hard loads un-implant an embryo???

Just incase I am pg, don't want to cough and dislodge the poor thing!

Have found a positive re DH redundancy - he has vowed not to work a second past his contractual hours (he's v conscientious and usually works late) so he'll be home earlier every day til job finishes. Sod 'em!

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 15:27

Enjoy! (I love that whole teatime/bathtime/bedtime nightmare fun!)

KatB · 07/01/2009 15:23

I have now

Anyway have to pick my middle munchkin up from school then all the making tea palaver so that'll keep me out of mischief for a few hours.

xx

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 15:10

pelicans in St James's park

HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 15:09

Have you seen the pelicans at St James's park? That was always what my mum used to say when she wanted to change the subject from something a bit awkward or tricky!

KatB · 07/01/2009 15:05
HeadFairy · 07/01/2009 15:04

Oh Kat, don't get even start me thinking along those lines lalalalalalalala

olivo · 07/01/2009 15:04

congratulations, minx! brilliant news. and regarding teas, i'm quaffing loads of peppermint at the moment to quell the queasiness.
hello to everyone else, still checking up on you

KatB · 07/01/2009 15:01

YEY Minx, congrats!

Headfairy - might be implantation bleeding? It aint over yet Missus and it only takes one time to get pregnant

I'm only on CD19 and I'm going crazy symptom spotting.... need to find some self control and think about something else like my pile of essays and dissertation

smallone · 07/01/2009 15:00

Right my alloted time on laptop has now ended as I can hear the end music of in the night garden! Good luck everyone

smallone · 07/01/2009 14:57

The only reason I've got this one is coz its from a pack of two. I decided that it was going to be the last one I was going to buy and this was the one that was going to be pos. Its managed to get through the last two cycles! Maybe I'll wait til sat, am going out sat night so want to know re alcohol etc.

Theres a little voice in my head thats saying "but if you test now, you could start celebrating now" aaaggghhh

I want to hold out but who knows! This was so much easier with dd, didn't test til cd36 coz I was so convinced I wasn't pg and didn't want to waste money on a test. That went pos within nanoseconds with the biggest fattest bluest line you've ever seen.
