Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Hello all. Just catchin up. Wifey, I think Headfairy is right - a positive will still be a positive tomorrow, and remember HCG levels double every 24 hours so it really is worth testing again tomorrow - morning wee is strongest, apparently, although I guess it's different for digital tests, not that I've tried one. If it's positive again you are definitely PG!

Gateau, I'm not using ov tests either, but from what other ladies have been saying it sounds like ov can occur at very random times indeed (CD26??!) so I'm definitely gonna invest in one of those predictor kits for next month. I think you can get them cheaper on ebay than in the shops. I BD'd on CD 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 this time, and was feeling mighty pleased at my achievement. But I still don't know if it was the "right" time - I had no EWCM to speak of, I kept forgetting to temp and I'm too squeamish to feel my own cervix (pathetic, aren't I). I assumed I'd OV on CD14, but it really sounds from others' experiences that you can OV any old time. At my age, I feel I can't afford to take any chances. I'd buy a frickin' ultrasound machine if I could!
CD 27 for me, AF due in two days, who knows what will occur? Good luck to all those testing x

littlewifey · 13/01/2009 19:57

Thanks Headfairy, I think you are right, I will have to splash out on a digital test. I will wait til the weekend and then go and buy one if AF hasn't arrived by then!

Hi all,
Just popping back after a bit of an absence so Happy New Year!! been doing the usual crawling around the country visting the rellies over xmas, and have finally come home.

This growing list of BFPs is wonderful and has given me a lovely happy feeling to start the new year with. Congratulations to you all! Commiserations to those of you who've had AF & hope next month proves more fruitful.

Whilst I'd love to feel hopeful of a BFP for myself, I really don't think this will happen. MissieMoo was horrid sick all though December, stopped eating and ramped up her breastfeeding until she was doing almost 24 hrs a day. I faithfully temped, knicker-checked and opk'd, but by CD19 I was getting despondent having not had a sniff of EWCM or a +ve opk - I was pretty sure that she'd managed to surpress ov completely and I would be doing it for the next 3 months with no useful results. Sleepless nights and the hassle of trying to fit BD into the few minutes DD would leave my side soon put a dampner on the whole venture. So I stopped trying on CD20, only to see a temp shift after CD23! Really hoping some of Hubby's swimmers survived to do their job, but since there was no EWCM (v.unusual) I'm going to assume AF is on her way and not obsess for the rest of the month. I'll pop back onto this thread every so often just cuz I love seeing the BFP announcements you ladies are having!

I've updated the list for those of us that are still waiting for a September BFP.

Aw Gateau, I'm sure things will settle down again soon. I quite often don't have any signs of ov, esp this month, and you know what happened next

Littlewifey, it's so hard to tell. The only time I've used an analogue test I was four days late so got a very strong line. All I can suggest is splashing out on a digital and waiting a few days. If you are pg, you'll still be pg in a few days (hopefully) so it won't change things. But it is flipping hard waiting I do appreciate that.

Gateau · 13/01/2009 08:31

Big congrats to you Headfairy. And all the other newly pg ladies out there too, of course. I remember "talking" to you some months ago; you were giving me advice on something or other. Don't worry - it'll all feel very real before you know it!
Like you, we have BD'd very little this cycle - and on CD6 and cd14, so am not hopeful for a BFP. There again you never know! But I'm scared I didn't ov because I've seen no signs and am not using kits. Can;t help feeling my two recent mcs have messed with my system a bit. It's all in the lap of the gods, really.
Look after yerself.

littlewifey · 13/01/2009 06:34

Morning ladies, I need some advice!!! After my post last night I decided that I would do one more test as I have had two first response in the cupboard and I have no willpower!! I am on day 35 today my period is usually 33-34 days but has been known to be 38 a couple of times in the last year since I started monitoring. I don't think I ov'd until day 25 so was expecting that my Af might be another late one. Anyway, I have got up this morning and tested with FR. After about 2 min there was no 2nd line, so I shouted at myself for having no willpower and got into the shower in a sulk. When I got out again I had another look and there is a very very faint 2nd line, but it is so faint I thought I might be imagining it, so I had to get DH to double check. He said that he thinks it could be an evaporation line because it was in bathroom with me while I had a shower, but my bathroom is large and it was right over other side of room on the windowsill and I only jumped in for a quick wash- 5 min max!!! Sorry just realised I am really waffling (and prob clutching at straws).. So what do you ladies think??
I'm really confused as I really felt on sun that AF was def on it's way. Has anyone had a faint line on here but then got AF? xx

HeadFairy · 13/01/2009 01:28

thanks for the congrats everyone. to be honest it all feels a little unreal. Last time we were so excited because it was our first (and we didn't know how horrendous the first weeks of a new baby's life are ) but this time it's all a matter of fact. We haven't really talked much about it beyond the practicalities. Ho hum, I guess no one's that interested in your second baby. I guess also it's such a shock, considering my age and the fact that we only bd'd once and I was so ill I really really really didn't think it would happen this month. It's all added to a slightly unreal feeling to the whole thing. It'll start to feel real soon enough, I've already started getting some morning sickness bouts

Sorry to hear about your missing ov morethan, I'm sure sunnydale is right and that sometimes it can happen without you noticeing. Heck this month I didn't have a drop of ewcm and although my cervix did move up a tiny bit, hardly it's usual amount but despite that I still managed to get pg. Enjoy all the bd'ing!

Sorry to hear about af irish I hope the pain has subsided now.

I'm on nights this week so I'm not going to be able to get on much, got to sleep as much as I can! Good luck to those on the 2ww, and those testing. I'll be back to see how you get on x

littlewifey · 12/01/2009 18:12

Congratulations Snowfalls, Minx and Headfairy, so pleased for you all
I'm fed up with my body at the moment am currently on day 34 of a cycle that can be anywhere between 30-38 days. We bd'd soooo much over christmas holidays and really felt it might happen this month because we were both off work so less stressed. However, I'm feeling like AF is due any second, and I have been testing everyday with ebay cheapies since day 30 but all BFN. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!! SoI think I will be making my way over to the oct thread any day. I shall keep checking back in here though to see if you lovely ladies have anymore BFP's. Good luck everyone xx

MoreThanChocolate · 12/01/2009 17:46

Thanks for your encouraging posts minx and sunny I read them to dh hope you don't mind. dh and I are motivated and tonight we are 'on duty' iyswim dspite that the opk kit says noooo (again) hey ho

minx congrats to you we are inspired by your story best of luck with your beanie

minxofmancunia · 12/01/2009 14:40

morathanchoc don't be despondent you're more than in with a chance, ihad mc in sept and had 2 cycles of 28 days ovd on day 17 both of them , then got fed up and stopped monitoring, bd on xmas eve ( and ONLY then) thinking i was out for this month, got awful pains of xmas day thinking it was af, day 28 no af and no bfp!!

felt just like you but did pg tests every 3 days like it ways on the packet and got a bfp last tuesday!! Must have been ov pain on xmas day, day 26!!!!

you might have ovd already and be in with a chance, and you're making an effort, I only bd once and the 2 previous moths all the time, so don't give up hope just yet, mc can do crazy things to your cycle.

Sunnydale · 12/01/2009 13:25

Hi Morethanchoc, how are you measuring ovulation? I once ovulated without it "showing" on a pee stick: I only knew coz I went for an ultrasound and the sonographer saw the egg on screen. Next time AF comes, count backwards 14 days, coz if OV occurs, it usually tends to be 14 days before AF. Apparently. Not that I'm a doctor. You're doing the right thing, all that BD'ing... anyway sure I'll see you on the Oct thread soon. Try not to get down x

MoreThanChocolate · 12/01/2009 11:54

Hi Everyone
This is doing my head in. Day 26 and no ovulation as yet (my whole cycle used to be only 24 days pre mc). Last cycle was 31 days with ovulation day 20/21. No idea what?s going on! Blaming my size(22/24), hormone imbalance , my age(38.6) ... things I did in a former life etc.etc.
On the plus side bding for England and getting into the swing of things since at least every other day since christmas week as had been expecting to ovulate between then and new year. Had found sex a bit painful emotionally and physically after the mc but hopefully recovering from that via what amounts to immersion therapy!!!
Best of luck to all of you and congratulations to those lucky ones that were successful this month.
I?ll check back to see how many bfps the September thread got in the end but since my body is acting up I am not going to qualify for this thread now and maybe should move to the October one and think about seeing GP for advice
Morethan x

irishmumwannabe · 12/01/2009 08:20

Hi Everyone,

So leaving it until today to test was a good call - AF arrived last night and like you smallone I am in bits with the pain (used to get them really badly before I went on the pill and now they are back with a vengeance

Congratulations to Headfairy and Snowfalls - I am absolutely delighted for you. Hopefully you'll see me on the ante-natal threads soon.

Thanks for all the support and everything girls - heading to the October thread now. I'll check back in on the rest of you to see how things go. Fingers crosed for all of you .

minxofmancunia · 11/01/2009 22:26

Congratulations sunnydale and headfairy that's brilliant news!!

have worked out my potential due date if this works (CANNOT tempt fate) as 17th sept too! 3 days after dds 3rd birthday. prob got it wrong though as cycle all over the place if nothing happens in the next 3 weeks, I'm going to get a dating scan to see exactly.

Snowfalls108 · 11/01/2009 22:11

Thanks for the congratulations. This is a lucky thread! Lots of BFP's.
Good luck to all ttc and lots of stickiness to those who have had BFP's.

Sunnydale · 11/01/2009 21:55

Sorry Smallone, about AF. Sure I'm right behind you .

HeadFairy · 11/01/2009 20:50

Sorry to hear about that smallone, I'll miss my cycle buddy! I hope your friend fully recovers.

smallone · 11/01/2009 20:01

Hi all, well, AF arrived for me bang on midnight last night. Its a really nasty one too, been doubled up not knowing if I'm going to throw up or faint. I think some of the pain might be psychological tho coz I'm really disappointed. Talked to my friend (who I thought might be pg) and it turns out that shes had an abnormal smear test and has been told she can't even try for 4 months til after she gets the all clear. Its horrid for her obviously but I think we both feel a bit better knowing we're both having problems and we're going through it together.

Congratulations headfairy so chuffed for you, but I'll miss my cycle buddy! Congrats snowfalls too and good luck Irishmum for monday.

I'm off to mooch around the october thread, smallone xxx

HeadFairy · 11/01/2009 19:50

Issy, I hope you do get your bfp, think of all that money you'll save Sorry that's awfully facetious of me, it would be wonderful to be able to avoid the IVF rollercoaster. FWIW I got my first ever bfp a week before my great aunt's funeral, she died very suddenly and everyone was very shocked, my grandmother was totally devastated, and despite all my fears about telling anyone before the first scan it was really wonderful to tell her then, and she was totally convinced it was the circle of life.

KatB · 11/01/2009 19:46

Woop Woop Head and snow!! So happy for you both!
Issy I'm exactly the same, AF due on Friday but I know I'll POAS before then esp as I have a few ebay cheapies in the cupboard ;)

Boobs are sore but not sure about any other symptoms. Probably a bit early yet as only CD23.

xx

Sunnydale · 11/01/2009 19:45

Yee-haa! Two more BFPs - lucky thread or what? Huge fat congrats to Headfairy and Snowfalls - and Head, you've reminded us all that "once is all it takes", which is good news for anyone who didn't manage a BD marathon this month. Issy, good luck with the IVF and even more luck for testing - so you won't even need it!
Have updated the list like a crazy list-lover, even though I don't like lists. Couldn't resist the joy of adding two new names to the graduates list! Feel free to amemd if inaccurate, anyone xx

Thanks HeadFairy and thanks JumpingJellyFish - sorry very rude of me not to acknowledge your post - was so excited for Snowfalls just rushed out a quick congratulations without reading up. FF says I ov'd on Sat 3rd, but I think 4th so am going to really try not to test until Wednesday at earliest and even then only with internet cheapies - my only CB digital is being kept for next weekend. No point pretending I won't test at all until Sunday because I don't have that much restraint. Would be so nice to be pg at my grandma's funeral on 22nd - cycle of life and all that.

HeadFairy · 11/01/2009 18:20

Congrats snowfalls! I'm no pro, only done it once before, but anything you need to know, feel free to ask and I'll attempt to answer Last time I worked out my due date according to LMP the sonographer at my first scan changed it by two days, they're such sticklers! We'll definitely be due the same week though.

thanks for congrats everyone, Issy it just goes to show if it's your time then it's your time. I hope it's your time this month!

Jumping - that's dead cute about your dcs, I do hope these two are the same. If they had the same birthday they could almost be twins, with two years between them

Issy42 · 11/01/2009 18:12

Congrats Snowfalls .

Snowfalls108 · 11/01/2009 17:21

Brilliant, now it will let me write properly so I can write a long message - does anyone else fine that they only get the thread split into pages once they've written a message, and up until that point it runs really slowely!

So I got a BFP on the 8th, and have done 2 more tests since both of which are also BFPs - Yipeee! Now getting very excited although we're not telling anyone.

HeadFairy congratulations! I think my due date is the 17th of September as well. How exciting. As a pro you're going to have to guide me through.

Yipee yipee yipeee.

So sorry to those from whom AF has come.

xx
