Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

just flying by to say hello and goodbye...in a way. I have decided after 6 months of trying for number two I need to take a chill pill and relax aabout the whole thing as it's driving me mad. Not sure how good i'm going to be about relaxing and stepping away but going to give it a try. No chance I won't know exactly what day of the cycle i'm on but not going to check so much and just going to try not to worry. My head feels fried and I feel I am wasting away time with my darling DS. Anyway - I wish you all very very good lucka and I hope that you all get your dreams.

peacelily · 09/12/2008 22:14

Hi everyone, good to see some new faces, lots and lots of festive babydust to all!

Bubble I don't want to depress you but it took me 8 months to have a perios when I came off the pill!! I wasn't ttc though, using condoms so knew I wasn't pg just came off it because i was worried about the long term effect on my reproductive health.

That's v unusual though, I'm sure that won't be you, I had v low oestrogen levels due to being on the injection and not ovulating for years in my early 20s. prob shouldn't have been given it for so long. I've heard that soem womens bodies can fo into ovulation overdrive and suddenly release eggs v quickly after stopping pill, that might be you!

As I've mentioned previously I'm not "trying" trying this month as the stress off the last few months has nearly driven me into an institution, I've handed my coursework in so I'm going to enjoy myself which includes having a drink!! After xmas am being more health as is dh, but this month I need to give my head a rest.

Still having regular(ish) bdancing though, just when we feel like rather than timed. Going to bed naked every night rather than wearing old pjs seems to be working miracles!!!

irishmumwannabe · 09/12/2008 22:00

Oops obviously that shoud be I'm probably not going to drink (must work on spelling and punctuation) (blush)

irishmumwannabe · 09/12/2008 21:58

Twoplease

I have a mad night out planned with my (6) sisters on Friday night hence why I'm testing Friday morning but I don't know what I'm going to do if I get BFP. It would be really early to tell anyone but it might just have to be done! What to do is right!
Even if I don't get BFP - AF not due until Sunday so.....

Ah sure I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Im probably not going to dink though.

twoplease · 09/12/2008 21:18

evening all,

not much to report - not getting +'s on opks (am cd 10 but have short cycles so am expecting to ov anyday) but still bding anyway although might have to give tonight a miss as dh is suffering apparently (has a cold for goodness sake!!!)

have 2 girly nights out this week - to drink or not to drink?????

pinkie08 · 09/12/2008 21:06

I think they can do some blood tests to check thyroid. When i had my coil taken out my cycle went all over the place and gp did thyroid but also had couple of reflexology sessions and that induced an ov (+ive on OPK) within a few days.

If you still bding there is a chance that you oved reallllly late and could be on for that BFP so dont be too lost .

Years and years ago when i was having recurrent mcs the gynae told me to get to 2 missed AFs before doing a test so maybe take this cycle to that date and then demand some investigations.

bubblebell1 · 09/12/2008 19:22

pinkie

I hope this is your month.. ive got my fingers crossed that Deannas plan and the opks work for you.. which opks did you get? i bought some from babymad... £3 for 20 but im not sure wether they are much cop.

i have been bd ing every 3rd day when i feel like it but not regimented. i just feel lost iykwim.. waiting to know where i am so i can just get on with it..

im just so confused. ive never been this late.. ive got load and loads and loads of ewcm (tmi )and when i use the cheapie opks it doesnt say im ovulating... im getting pains in my lower abdo too and achey boobs but no AF and no BFP.

can the dr do a test that will tell whats going on? he really seemed clueless and i thought he would be know how i felt as his wife (also a gp at the same surgery) had problems concieving and they took 10yrs to get their babies.

this is my first month off the pill so dont really know what to expect anymore...

gateau

Dont give up.. your still in with a chance. how long is your cycle normally?? if you bd now for a few days then you could still end up with a BFP for xmas...

Hello and welcome to forces, evie, tengreen and littlepea

and good luck to irishmum and jumping for when you test

loads of babydust to all

pinkie08 · 09/12/2008 16:45

Hi everyone,

Af has gone and taken last clomid pill so am starting the every other night bding from tomorrow.

Will also be using OPKs as am following the Deanna Plan so start those in a few days time. Hope we all get our BFPs over the xmas festivities.

Bubblebell sometimes the docs say the dumbest things. Could you ask for a blood test. Was thinking if you oved really late and were now in your 2ww could you be pg, have you still been bding, if you dont mind me asking.

littlepea72 · 09/12/2008 09:25

Hi everyone...hope you dont mind me joining.... Just taken AF this morning so this will be our 2nd month in trying. Have a little boy who is 4, also had MC last year...

Gateau · 09/12/2008 08:52

It's really sad, girls, but, as I said in a previous post, I've been too bloody tired to BD this month. I'm now on CD11 and so far we've managed it once - on CD8. Haven't a clue about ovulation dates this month, so it's unlikely I'll get the present I want on Christmas Day. But hey, who knows??!
jumpingjellyfish, Portstewart is utterly beautiful, as is the whole north coast! You are so lucky to live there. We'll probably take a trip up there if the weather's ok at Christmas. We would love to live there too, but it's a bit far to commute to Belfast where we'll probably be working. Where do you/your DH work if you don;t mind me asking.

bubblebell1 · 09/12/2008 08:37

hello everyone...

how are you all??

i went to the dr and he was as much use as a chocolate fireguard... he said and wait for it.... er.. you are either pregnant or your period is on its way then reccomended i went and bought another first response test instead of the ebay cheapies.. he said i could just miss out this period and have a normal period next month which contradicts anything else ive been told. but hey ho.. i will just have to wait for either AF or a BFP.

its my first month off the pill.. anyone else experience a long first cycle?

xxx

irishmumwannabe · 09/12/2008 08:34

Bubblebell - what did teh doctor say? Are you any nearer to an outcome? I've followed your story on the August thread so hope you get somewhere soon.

irishmumwannabe · 09/12/2008 08:31

Hi JumpingJellyfish

I've decided that I'll test on Friday - cos AF due Sunday - I'm very impatient though and kind of want to test now but will sit on my hands and hold off until friday!

JumpingJellyfish · 08/12/2008 22:00

PS. bubblebell really hope your GP was helpful and offered some tests rather than just saying "wait for AF"- let us know!

irishmumwannabe my cycle is also usually 26 days and I'm a day behind you- have you worked out when you might test or will you try to wait until after AF is due? Good luck!

JumpingJellyfish · 08/12/2008 21:57

Hi everyone! Good to see so many joining the list!

Gateau I'm originally from England (New Forest, near Southampton)- moved over here years ago (for work, then met DH, and now will probably never leave!!)- lived in Belfast for first 3 yrs, then Dunmurry for 2 and now have been up in Portstewart for 2 years, where we are hoping to stay (both have found jobs we like, love being so close to the sea too!). Hope you can find an easy way to move back! Good luck with TTC too

Forcessweetheart you are indeed an inspiration. Really hope you are lucky this month

Tengreenbottles like you my first 2 were conceived v v easily but finding it harder this time! Though am also trying not to obsess, so haven't been charting or using OPKs or anything yet. I think I won't go down this route until after I've finished writing up my thesis as that's consuming enough of my brain without getting too hung up on TTC (hoping though it'll just happen!)

tengreenbottles · 08/12/2008 19:18

Evie ,thanks for the clarification ! as for testing and charting ,im going to leave that for at least six months when no doubt i will be reading and consuming every known aid and bit of knowledge !

evie2000 · 08/12/2008 19:05

hello all....and sending happy vibes and baby dust to us all.
Forcessweetheart can I just tell you something - you are amazing. I just had a flick on your pictures (cos I'm putting off cooking dinner)- what a feat - what an inspiration. well done you. I really hope you don't mind me saying anything but seriously - fantastic girl- must have taken so much. good on you!

So....to the rest of us mere mortals on we go

Tengreen bottles fear not I know what you mean but for any help I can tell you - your first cycle day (CD) is first day of your period and if you're stuck on knowing when you ovulate there are some very good test sticks around which help....but also a very good but very long book called Fertility Awaremenes Method (the exact name i'll tell you if you're interested) and it talks about charting both using temperature but also spotting the obvious signs our body gives us.
anyway - lucky you not having to concentrate first times around! Hopefully this one won't take too long either.

tengreenbottles · 08/12/2008 18:26

hello can i join too ?
Never done this trying to concieve malarky before ,both my children were welcome accidents ! So now im trying to concieve #3 and dont understand half the terminology on here so you will have to bear with me , dont know how i work out my cycle day ,how grapefruit juice affects anything ,but do know my age (37) is against me .Dont even know when im supposed to ovulate !

ForcesSweetheart · 08/12/2008 17:45

Hiya
Have stuck my name on list. Coming over from Aug thread. On CD10 today. Wasn't supposed to be trying officially until I got the OK from my diabetic care team - which I finally got last week - but in reality this is our third month of trying (I knew they were gonna give me the OK, just had to wait around for an appointment!) DH works away Sunday-Friday so really limited on opportunities which isn't helping I suspect.
We're trying to conceive number 2, and hoping it won't take the 18 months she took. I had gastric bypass surgery in January and have lost 7 stone so far so hopefully that will improve our chances.
Best of luck everyone! Here's hoping we have our Christmas wishes.

Hi all and all the new ones, everyone very welcoming here so its usually fun.

CD 5 for me gateau and i am wondering about the tiredness too. I think its the pressure we all put ourselves under.

This weekend we managed a spontaneous moment very rare thing in our house at present

We tend to work on everyother day and then everyday when get near ov

Hi, can I join in ? I am on TTC#1, 26 day cycle (for the past 2 months anyway since I started checking all this out) and CD 20. I have been lurking for about 2 months and decided to join in at last.

I'm really hoping this month is the one - fingers crossed eh? I know I'm only starting TTc and it might not happen that quickly but here's hoping.

Gateau · 08/12/2008 08:52

Hi everyone and welcome any new ones!
Is anyone too tired to BD? (how sad is that!!!), or is it just me???!
For the record, I'm on cycle 1 after mc. Now on CD10.
Jumpingjellyfish, where are you from in N.Ireland? I'm from Belfast but live in England. We are moving back there though as I love the place and miss it desperately! Am off there for Christmas and the New Year.
