Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

I hope no one minds that I've come to join you ladies and added my name to the list. I've been on the other September thread, and feeling rather obsessive right now.

I'm overdue on my normal cycle, but to complicate matters, I only have a guess at when/if I ov'd based on EWCM which was all over the place:

That's fab littlepea, thanks, will start testing tomorrow morning. L x

littlepea72 · 14/12/2008 19:36

Hi ForcesSweetheart, i use the clearblue OK, it gives me a wee smiley face and then you are meant to "do the busisness" that day and a few after. I read that after it shows then you ov between 12-36 hrs after. Hope thats a bit of help

ForcesSweetheart · 14/12/2008 19:28

Folks when should I use an ov test strip? Is first thing in the morning best? If it shows +ive does that mean I have just ov'd or am about to ov? New to these things, used a persona machine to conceive DD but was a long time ago now. I have a load of cheapie ebay strips and figure they may help confirm when would be best day to take a road trip

ForcesSweetheart · 14/12/2008 18:58

Well DH just left for the week. Weekend didn't quite go as planned but went OK. Friday night's planned seduction went up the spout! I was all kitted up in a sexy little babydoll lingerie set, I had 3 glasses of champagne, and passed out cold on the couch! DH had to throw a blanket over me and go to bed alone. Since the gastric bypass replumbed my digestive system I can't hold my drink at all!
Did manage to BD Saturday night, then again this afternoon, so hopefully that'll be enough.

shoptilidrop - he's in Blandford, retraining from being a REME VE to being a Signals IS engineer. He gets a lift with another guy on the course who also lives in Aldershot so that I can have the car all week so he couldn't come home easily - might have to look into getting a few hours babysitting and drive down there for a quickie myself though!

step away from the pg tests jumpingjellyfish, hope AF stays away this week for you.

irishmumwannabe has it stayed away? The day's almost over! Fingers crossed.

Anything happening today bubble? Hope you get it sorted soon.

Good luck everyone.
Lis x

JumpingJellyfish · 14/12/2008 12:49

Ooooh irishmumwannabe keeping everything crossed your AF stays away...

No pre-AF spotting yet from me, which is kind of weird, as usually happens from CD22 or CD23 (at least that is what has happened for the previous 3 cycles). But I'm not getting my hopes up as a few spots on my forehead appeared this morning which always seems to happen when AF is on her way. Also sore boobs which again happens when AF is on her way. Will try to keep resisting testing until Mon eve or Tues morn as sure AF should be here by then...

Good luck to all those on the BD marathon and for those on the dreaded 2WW!

Bubble- hope you get some answers somehow soon, being in limbo must be terrible...and it's so annoying your GP didn't offer more help.

Hey everyone,

Well AF due today and so far no sign - feel sick for the past 4 days though and lat test BFN.

Really weird last night cried at everything on TV - Harlequins winning therugby, all the stories in Strictly come dancing and of course the X Factor final. Im never that emotional ut think it's just the AF knocking on the door.

Ah well we'll have another bd marathon next month which DH is happy about!

Bubble that's so frustrating for you - I really hoe you get some kind of answers soon.

LOL @ Trixie - it was good craic growig up though - especialy at Christmas. And we're all fairly close now as well which is cool. None of us are planning on making that a family tradition though. DH is an only and he first met my whole family at Christmas which was a bit like jumping in the deep end god bless him!

Anywho - jumping have my fingers crosed for you tomorrow I'll let ye al know what happens AF wie for me.

God luck to all of you for the rest of the month - hopefully we have lots of BFPs soon enough. to those on hte 2ww - hope the suspense doesn't kill you all!

bubblebell1 · 13/12/2008 16:07

hi girls!!

hope all is well...lots of bd ing and grapefruit drinking

sorry irish about the BFN but it could still change. ive got my fingers crossed.

STILL no AF here im really peed off at mo.. hopefully thats a sign AF is on her way.

TrixieBelden · 12/12/2008 20:34

Sorry, am just coming to after fainting dead away at irishmumwannabe's NINE siblings! I'm an only and I always wished for lots of brothers and sisters...being one of ten sounds amazing.

Now that I think about it, I conceived DD after quite a few drinks on holiday. She's the healthiest person I know and, sadly, is far more clever than I so I say go on, have a drink.

Keep your strength up, shoptilidrop!

Am trying to psych myself up for being pg. I had such a miserable time with morning (and afternoon and evening) sickness last time, for a full five months, and fainting...I think I need to write a letter to myself to read in case I do get pg, instructing myself to buck up and get some exercise and eat sensibly and take my iron supplements, etc. It's a bit scary to think of going through it all again.

pinkie08 · 12/12/2008 14:15

HI irish

The grapefruit juice soesnt get any better. I have small glass in morning with the pregnacare.

for all those wanting preseed and other bits have had discount code from access diagnostics AD3DAY 10% off this weekend delivery is usually pretty prompt aswell so only xmas post to slow it down.

JumpingJellyfish · 12/12/2008 13:54

irishmumwannabe- sorry that it was BFN this morning but keeping everything crossed a BFP is on its way- what type/make of test did you use? Was an extra sensitive one like a First Response? I am sure a couple of drinks tonight won't do any harm at such an early stage- I didn't know I was pregnant with DS (had come off contraception but weren't really trying) and had quite a big night- the next day realised my period was a couple of days late, did a test- BFP- and felt so awful about the drinking . When I went to the GPs I asked her about it and she said it was very unlikely to have had any effect as the embryo had barely implanted- from that moment on of course I didn't touch the stuff! (didn't want to anyhow as morning sickness put me right off, even the smell of alcohol would make me sick...). Hope you have a great night out and good luck for when you next test!

Littlepea, shoptilidrop & Forcessweetheart- really feel for you, must be so hard when your DH's are away for such long periods. Forcessweetheart hope you manage to fit as much BDing in as possible- it's hard enough when you're looking after a toddler let alone when you only get 2 days a week to BD in. Hope you have a lovely eve tonight.

No news here...no pre-AF spotting yet which I am expecting today or tomorrow, as it usually comes on CD23 ready for proper AF on CD26....but not getting excited either...

Any news from Bubblebell? xx
Good luck all!

irishmumwannabe · 12/12/2008 13:29

lol @ little pea - thanks for teh advice.
When my sis was pg she didn't know. We were in the pub after my grandmother's funeral and really went mad then a month later she found out she was 3 months! Her kid is grand though and she wasn't ttc anyway!

I'll test again on Sunday if AF not showing it's face

littlepea72 · 12/12/2008 11:54

Just incase that doesnt sound to good, can i just say that i did a pregnancy test both times before going out for the night! Neg tests then 2 days after night out...poss tests...if im lucky to get pregnant again i will try not to repeat it lol...

littlepea72 · 12/12/2008 11:45

Hi ForcesSweetheart & Shoptilidrop, really feel for you both, my husbands in the same job as yours...really gets in the way of the babymaking!! Irishmum, i didnt know i was pregnant with both my pregnacies, on the lash both times! Found out 2 days later with both, maybe one or two would be wise..lol... best of luck with it, and have a great night!!

shoptilidrop · 12/12/2008 10:13

Hi

Sorry ive not been on for a while. Im CD18 today, after last month when i oved on cd 20, we are bding everyday until cd22, well thats what i have planned, apart from a break tonight when we are staying with family! Wont know when ill ov, but should have covered it will all that bding!! As long as my cycle is about the 34 days then thats ok.
Forcesweet - we are amy too. Its difficult isnt it. We have just done 2 years married unacompanied, that was hard, im sure you are just having a bad day and will feel better tomorrow. Its so difficult to ttc when they keep going away on tour on on course though. What course is he doing - is it near at all, is there ANY possibility he could pop home for an hour on ov day?

irishmumwannabe · 12/12/2008 09:15

Hee hee Trixie, there's 3 brothers to add to the mix as well so that's ten of us! Hope the cold goes very soon

Poor DH is worried he might be up to the mark fertility wise but I've told him it can take months!

So did a test this morning and unfortunately got a BFN. I'm not due until Sunday though so staying positive. Still not sure about what to do tonight - might jsut have one or two and see what happens then at the weekend.

ForcesSweetheart - I've all my fingers crosed for you that this weekend goes well and you catch a bean - enjoy the BD!

TrixieBelden · 12/12/2008 08:33

And I moan about DH being away for 6-7 days a month...ForcesSweetheart, I don't know how you manage with a 2yo on your own that much. My hat is off to you! No wonder you're a bit fed up.

ForcesSweetheart · 11/12/2008 17:43

I'm so with you on being too tired to BD Gateau. DH works away Sun-Fri so am on my own with a 2yo all week and by the time he gets home all I wanna do is hand her over to him and sleep/chill. I'm expecting to ov around Tuesday/Wednesday so this weekend needs to be it for this cycle. In preparation I have a bottle of champers in the fridge, and some spicy finger foods that can just be stuck in the oven on Friday night (so not slaving over dinner). Hopefully this'll help get the weekend off on the right note.
He usually leaves for work around 6pm Sunday so will have to get him upstairs during DDs afternoon nap to give us a BD as close to ov as we can get. I'm so fed up with the whole situation, can't wait til his course finishes at easter and he's home during the week. Of course then he'll probably get a 6 mth tour in Afghanistan and bugger up ttc completely (if we're not already pg by then). Sorry for the moan, just a bit fed up with it all.

TrixieBelden · 11/12/2008 17:22

Thanks for adding me to the list - I've amended it slightly below (just removing the question mark from my CD).

DH is travelling for work this week, so no BD here...just as well, am the walking dead with a streaming cold and DD having just finished nursery for Christmas hols. Am resting up for next week, our first of properly trying.

Hope bubblebell gets some resolution, and that evie2000 has a relaxed Christmas...

irishmumwannabe - everything certainly sounds positive. And with SIX sisters surely fertility is in your genes!

Good luck for tonight pinkie - well done for drinking that grapefruit juice - haven't gone there yet but sure I will if not pregnant soon. We had a mini-bd marathon this month so hopefully it will have not been in vain.

Jumping - you have great willpower - I'm testing tomorrow though as going on the lash tomorrow night. Will let you all know what it comes out with! Have DH gone shopping for tests for me as going shopping with sis tonight and don't want her to know I'm ttc just yet.

Hello to everyone else - Hope BD goes well for those at that stage -

Lots of festive babydust for everyone!

pinkie08 · 11/12/2008 11:16

Thanks Jumping Jelly i have primed DH for tonight and the preseed is in the drawer.

Grapefruit juice drunk last 2 days and will keep drinking til end of cycle.

Have realised not to drink too much as as many sugar calories and am trying to watch weight due to parties over xmas/new year and not obsessing this month that means still drinking

JumpingJellyfish · 11/12/2008 10:11

PS. Meant to add pinkie wishing you lots & lots of luck with your BDing marathon, sure it's very hard when needing the extra "help" of clomid not to get completely obsessed with TTC. Really hope the festive season brings you lots of luck

Like you Gateau I really haven't had the energy to BD as much as I'd hoped, only 3 times around when I think I ovulate, and not on consecutive days- but this was the same when I conceived DD (think we're only BD'd twice that month!) so it certainly happens... Once my thesis is finally finished I'm hoping to find more energy to TTC 'seriously'!

JumpingJellyfish · 11/12/2008 10:05

Good morning all!
It is freeeeeeezing here- but good weather I guess for getting cosy in bed!
Evie- sorry you are leaving us- I did the same last month as was just getting a bit too obsessed. But this month decided to get back on the lists but am not obsessing so much- not going to follow any plans etc. yet just trying to stay chilled for another couple of months. Really hope you will get a pleasant surprise soon
bubblebell- any more news? My SIL had a really long cycle when she came off the pill, was about 2 months long, and it took a further 4 months until her cycle finally settled back to a normal 28 day one. I think for some people the combined pill does mess things about for a while, although I've also heard of others who've fallen pregnant straight away so hopefully you'll be the latter & it's just taking time for the HcG levels to rise enough for a BFP....Fingers crossed!
Gateau- my DH works for a small environmental consultancy (cleaning up oil spills...nice!) and I work for the Uni in Coleraine. Took me a while to get a job up here but it seems that most people who live in Portstewart are somehow associated with the Uni! I did really enjoy living in Belfast though, have good friends down there still and do enjoy visiting and having a good night out. I miss the opportunities of living in a large city in terms of arts & events etc. but have to say love the pace of life up here & obviously the coast itself!
Irishmumwannabe- good luck for the testing tomorrow! I haven't been symptom spotting- did that the last couple of months only to be very disappointed. So many of the early pregnancy symptoms I had with DS & DD I also have for around 4 days pre-AF so I just can't tell anymore! But really hope this is your lucky month!

Only a few more days now before AF should show for me so trying to keep focussed on work etc. and not think about it! Only have one pregnancy test in the house so determined to hold off until the day AF is due- Monday.

Good luck all!

Hi irishmum, hope you get a good result on Friday!!

irishmumwannabe · 10/12/2008 14:45

Hi Evie,

Sorry to hear that you are giving up - you know it could be exactly what you need though - a friend of mine got pregnant after 2 years of trying and then she gave up to find 3 months later she was pg!

I am symptom spotting like mad here - have had nausea all day (prob not pg but result of dodgy pizza last night) even when I had some lunch still feel queasy. I've never felt like this before AF so you'd never know - although I think everything is a possible sign for me this week!

Hope everyone keeping well - am testing friday so will let you know what happens good or bad!
