Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Woohoo "MoreThanChocolate" - I've all my fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

(Note to self - get off MN and do some work!)

MoreThanChocolate · 16/12/2008 11:16

Hi all.. thrilled to report I feel odd this morning sickly with a strange taste in mouth. Fingers crossed for the right result for the September thread folks x

irishmumwannabe · 16/12/2008 09:22

Littlepea - ROFL @ you drinking the grapefuit juice. Only ever had grapefuit once when staying in America for a few weeks, that taught me a lesson not to touch it again. Although if AF arrives this month DH might start making me drink it. (makes my mouth twist thinking about it - bleugh)

irishmumwannabe · 16/12/2008 09:15

Hi everyone

Welcome to Head, Katster and cantwait.

Now I still have nothing to report. No AF and haven't tested yet either. I think I'll probably test either tomorrow or Thursday morning. I really want to know but don't want to get BFN - hence my indecision.

I've updated the list too - hopefully have everyone right on it!

talk to you all later

just dropped by to say hello to some of my old friends - although i may be joining you all soon. hope the next few weeks bring some positive news for everyone!

MoreThanChocolate · 15/12/2008 18:55

I've been doing Fertility Awareness Method since I met my husband(for contraception till recently, as the Pill and I didn't get on and I wasn't brave enough for the other options!) and I have found it really interesting and am a bit miffed at all the things I didn't know about my body before but impressed how many clues you can get from noticing icky things!
If only I'd known

.. but now I'm so tuned in to noticing things I can't think of anything but possible very slight symptoms(3/4 way through the 2ww)!

Anyone else symptom spotting yet?

HeadFairy · 15/12/2008 16:51

Hello everyone, I'm just popping over from the August thread, lots of familiar faces on here.... I've already got one September baby (Sept 07) so I'm hoping this could be my lucky month. I've added myself on the list.

I noticed that everyone was talking about grapefruit juice, never heard taking it was good, so i thought i would buy some today...wish i could of taken a photo for you all...it was the most horrid stuff i have ever drank in my life!! My son roared with laughter with my face twisted after drinking it! One question though, how much of the horrible stuff do i have to drink? LOL....Irish mum, everything is crossed for you...does sound good though!

katster37 · 15/12/2008 16:06

Oooo can I join too? Am also on the other thread.
We are ttc number 1, and on cycle 1. I am a mixture of total excitement and obsession, coupled with the utmost fear! Is this normal?!?! AF due on Saturday so avidly symptom spotting this week!

Hi all,

can I join please. I'm also on the other Sept thread but this one seems a bit busier. DP and I have just decided to ttc so this is cycle 1. I'm very excited ! I am on CD19 and AF is due on xmas eve. This 2ww is hard work - I am a very very impatient person anyway and with all the xmas shopping for godson/nieces/nephew I can't stop wondering whether we might have our own DC or bean to shop for next xmas. I know ttc could take months or years but can't help being excited anyway - poor DP if it takes us a long time. I think I will drive him crazy!

Hi all and welcome to the new girls.

Fingers crossed for irishmum and jumpingjellyfish. Feeling all kinds of sympathy for Forcessweetheart -- that would be me passed out on the sofa after 3 glasses of bubbly, for sure.

I'm not tracking with opks (for the first cycle, am determined to Be Nonchalant, la la la), but I should ovulate in the next couple of days. I don't think DH knew what hit him last night...shame he's now got my cold, though, and is unlikely to be on for it tonight.

Hi everyone and good luck with your baby plans.
We are ttc #1, first try after a mc at 5-6 weeks in October.
Have become quite obsessive - how dh copes with me I don't know.
Could I join the list please
I'm 37, no kids yet, now CD 28 af due 19th November dc would be due 1st sept... if only we could be lucky this time.
Symptom spotting: Have the usual pre period pains off and on plus some breast sensations that I don't recognise (or is that my imagination ).

JumpingJellyfish · 15/12/2008 10:26

I should also preview messages before posting sorry for all the awful grammar & spelling I shouldn't try to type fast on 5hrs sleep!!

JumpingJellyfish · 15/12/2008 10:24

that's good news irishmumwannabe- hoping AF stays away! And I'm impressed with your restraint in not testing!

AF isn't here yet but very much feel she's on her way, reckon will be by the end of today so not testing yet.

Welcome missiemoesmummy and sans04, though sorry the witch got you this month missiemoo have everything crossed for the coming cycle- surely all the festivities should play in our favour! Think I'll be joining you at the bottom of the list v soon... I keep saying I won't get obsessed but it's so hard not too...made worse in a way maybe by having been so lucky with my last conceptions & falling straight away (didn't even know when in my cycle to try!)

Sans04 really feel for you trying so long- can't imagine it (finding trying for 6 months hard enough). My SIL was trying 15 months then fell pregnant the same months they took her day 21 bloods ironically! But know how hard it was for her.

2manychips any news? what length is your cycle normally? Hope AF stays away!

bubblebell- hope the GP today is a bit more helpful and can maybe to a blood test to rule anything serious out. Good luck.

Good luck everyone, especially those on the awful 2ww...

irishmumwannabe · 15/12/2008 09:45

Sorry to hear about your AF MMM, good luck to everyone on their 2WW...I'll be there myself pretty soon. x

bubblebell1 · 15/12/2008 08:40

Hi ladies!!

How are you all?

Hello to sans, hope you dont drive yourself crazy on the 2ww.

Sorry AF arrived missie. good luck for the next cycle.

forces sorry the WE didnt go to plan. i read on aug thread that opks detect the surge but ov can sometimes be delayed so if i were you and you could get a babysitter then once you get a positive on opk go that night and the next few too just to make sure.

jumping and irish any news?? has AF stayed away?

well i have a drs appointment tomorrow morning. still no AF. i hope they can help.

xxx

Sans04 · 15/12/2008 04:17

ForcesSweetheart · 15/12/2008 01:19

MissieMoosMummy · 14/12/2008 23:53

Thanks for the welcome Forcessweetheart, we hail from the same neck of the woods - I'm in Farnborough!

Just been to the loo and noticed AF has arrived.

So

Very

Very

Disapointed

Still, next cycle is only a few days away.

Think I'll pour myself a stiff drink tonight and cheer the rest of you on from the sidelines.

Have reattached littlepea to the list, not sure what happened there :-)

I've just unearthed an instruction leaflet from the bottom of my bag of ov test strips which answers all the questions I had. In case anyone's interested it says:

Do not use first morning urine samples, as LH is synthesized in the body early in the morning it will not show up until later in the day. The best time to test is between 10am and 8pm (glad I found that, would have tested first thing otherwise!)
It also advises reducing fluid intake for 2 hours prior to testing.
And just as littlepea advised, it says ov should occur 12-36 hrs after a positive result.
So from that I reckon my best bet would be to drive down the day I get a positive ov result. Fingers crossed it's wednesday as he'll have "sports afternoon" and be free to nip off for a quick BD!

Welcome aboard MissieMoosMummy, I reckon we're all just a tad obsessive but hey ho! Best of luck!
