Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Forces its not easy to understand the silly things when you just start using them, ive been using them for about 2 yrs now & im just starting to understand! lol... you should find the line gets darker from now on untill you are ready to ov. But remember that they only tell you went its about to happen, it can be from 8-36 hrs after that you ov. I got really confused with them, and looking it up on the web didnt help, so i went and asked my doctor, he made alot of sence. I really hope i havent confused you!

ForcesSweetheart · 16/12/2008 21:45

lol thanks for the cervix tip guys, but I can never reach my cervix at the best of times! I have really short fingers and apparently a really high cervix. When I was in labour with my DD they had to keep sending for this 6ft 2 amazonian woman with long fingers to check how dilated I was coz none of the midwives could reach it (sorry if tmi lol)! I didn't go see DH in the end, I decided to try and be patient. Now I'm unsure, as I've just done another ov test (4th today, as I read on another thread that the surge can last just a few hours and only testing once a day may mean missing it) and for the first time there was a very faint line. I know the instructions say the line has to be as dark or darker than the control line otherwise it's still a negative, but does the fact that I'm now getting a faint line when there was no line before mean the LH surge could already have happened? Or does the level of LH increase gradually before the actual surge - so it's likely to surge tomorrow now? I know, I know, I'm a pain in the a*se and probably obsessing way too much

bubblebell1 · 16/12/2008 19:44

oh yeah! (light bulb now goes on in bubbles head) i remember now head sorry

HeadFairy · 16/12/2008 19:32

bubblebell I think that was me who told you that. Forces, bubble's right, if your cervix is hard to reach, really high up, then I'd go for it tonight. It's always better to have sperm sitting there ready to go than miss ov!

bubblebell1 · 16/12/2008 19:21

i forgot to ask!! i will find out when i have the test. scrambled egg for brains at the mo.

it seems just my luck tho. it took 6 months to convince dh to ttc and now he has said yes my periods stop!!

hopefully it will happen without me obsessing about it but as soon as AF returns i will be jumping straight into the sperm meets egg plan and onto dh .

i would love to stay on the thread tho. dont evict me yet!!!

forces check your cervix... if its far back and hard to reach with lots of ewcm then go to c your dh. someone told me somewhere on 1 of these ttc threads you can tell when your ov by the position of your cervix. if its too gross for you then just go for it anyway. you never know

littlepea72 · 16/12/2008 18:54

Forces you know your own body, if you think it would be better then go for it. Remember that the sperm can live up to 3-5 days, so its going to be hanging around, but your egg might be gone or nearly gone by tomorrow night. I switched to the more expensive Ov sticks because i wasnt getting a reading on cheaper ones, the clearblue are about £19 but they give you a good reading. Happy bd'n!!

ForcesSweetheart · 16/12/2008 18:04

Opinions needed please!

Funds are limited this close to Christmas and I can't really afford to drive down to DH more than once. I'm trying to decide whether to go for it tonight, or wait til tomorrow night. Still getting negative ov sticks, and have some EWCM but I'm not convinced by the cheapie ov sticks and am worrying that I may ov tonight and then waiting til tomorrow night to drive down would be too late. Surely it'd be better to bd today even if I don't ov til tomorrow than to wait til tomorrow night and risk having missed it? Thoughts anyone? IS it possible I could ov tonight despite the negative ov sticks and ewcm? Arrgghh somebody more clued up please advise!

irishmumwannabe · 16/12/2008 17:46

Ah thanks everyone - it's so nice to have other people around who I can share this with. All my friends would think I am mad ttc'ing and DH while he is great isn't eth same as another woman!

Anywho, jsut done my calculations and think I'll probably be late september/early oct so I'll stick around here and keep an eye on the list to see if anyone gets lucky!

Bubblebell if it were me I would just keep trying - you never know what your body is going to do!

Good luck to anyone testing in the next few days -

littlepea72 · 16/12/2008 17:36

Irish im sorry

HeadFairy · 16/12/2008 16:34

A week tomorrow is Christmas eve. will they get the results before Christmas? I think just take it as an enforced break for a week at least. Time for you to relax and enjoy christmas (hard I know when all you want is a baby)

bubblebell1 · 16/12/2008 16:21

yer head...think thats best. just bd at will.

going for bloodtest tomorrow and have to wait a week for the results!!!

i dont think it will show much especially if the hpts are -tive

HeadFairy · 16/12/2008 16:00

Oh, sorry irish, just scrolled down. Sorry to hear af got you

HeadFairy · 16/12/2008 15:59

Bubblebell, if it was me I'd just bd when i wanted to, it's quite a relief to be able to do that sometimes. But i do understand why you want to keep ttc too. For me to do it every other day until further notice would be too hard what with my shifts and ds and Christmas round the corner. I'm knackered as it is. I guess it depends how much tired you are with your other dcs.

bubblebell1 · 16/12/2008 15:55

choc wow! cant believe your will power... i would of tested by now. esp with those symptoms.

i dont know wether to ttc or not. i still chart my temp and cm but am really at a loss. im only 26 i didnt think i would get this kind of prob til later on in life. technically i could get pregnant at anytime if i ov and bd at right time but am wondering if it would be better to hold off til i get AF so i know dates etc??

who knows??

what would you girls do in my situation?

peacelily · 16/12/2008 14:23

so sorry everyone for typos and grammar my typing is appalling!

Hi everyone wow the list has grown I'm really hoping for some festive BFPs for everyone!!

irish hwta a shame will be thinking of you for next cycle and wishing xx

morethanchocolate that sounds very exciting well done for holding off with the tests!!

littlepea72 I feel exactly the same mc in september the thought of a BFP fills me with glee and anxiety at the same time.

Don't think there will be a BFP for us this month, haven't been tracking or bdancing just when we've felt like it. been driking too much booze too and caffiene, having mc and starting an Msc simultaneously as well as working has nearly finished me off so have chilled this month cos want to enjoy xmas.

Mind you i did wake dh up early this am as suspected might be ov! Af due 27th-29th dec but not perticularly optimistic. Will get back on it "properly" in new year. Mind you with 1st preg got pg whilst using contraception (dd 2.3yrs) and 2nd (mc) got pg first cycle but not really "trying". This time 3 cycles in no joy with all the ov sticks etc. So thiking this whole trying business isn't really working for us.

Anyway looking forward to hearing everyones good news soon!

irishmumwannabe am gutted for you - thought you were going to get lucky

bubblebell will you still ttc while waiting?
I'll test on friday if I can wait that long and AF hasn't arrived

bubblebell1 · 16/12/2008 13:54

Oh irish im so sorry! i was sure it was going to be good news! stay here and keep trying for next month.

choc fingers crossed. when will you test?

jumping ofcourse your lucky to have 2dc especially 1s as gorgeous as yours! (had a look at your profile) but you are entitled to have as many as you like and it can be just as painful ttc #3 as #1. i felt the same last week but it doesnt make my/yours/anyone elses pain less significant big hugs to you xxx

i saw a different dr today. she has refered me for a blood test to check hcg but said that i just have to wait for af. she said that a normal woman can experience the loss of a period for up to 6 months and the dr not be worried?? she said to wait for the results of blood test which i know will say that im not pregnant and then if af hasnt arrived in the next 3 months then go back. it seems a long while to wait to me. so still in limbo.

baby dust to all.

irishmumwannabe · 16/12/2008 13:17

Oh Ladies,

I'm out!

Stoopid AF has literally just arrived - am so disappointed.

On the bright side, this means I can go out with work on Friday night and get merry, and then on Saturday am doing 12 pubs of Christmas with my friends so that will be a lot easier now I don't have to explain why I'm only drinking lemoanade!
(yes I know it sounds like I'm an alco but have got the stereotype to live up to lol)

Hopefully the rest of you will get BFPs this month and keep me going - we need some BFPs and I've a feeling they might start rolling in soon.

Bubblebell - any news?

Hi morethanchocolate....sounds really good for you. I know that mc plays on your mind, it will for me too if i get lucky this month...so good luck with the testing! Irishmum, im glued to this just waiting to see what happens with you lol...

MoreThanChocolate · 16/12/2008 12:30

hi irishmumwannabe jumpingjellyfish and gateau thanks for the support will be trying to wait till friday to test .. though DH just suggested my announcement that a "trip to stock up from Asda" was needed today was more connected with urgent obsession with pregnancy testing than the nearly empty fridge.
after recent mc I know if we get a positive I'll be over the moon and terrified at the same time ...

jumpingjellyfish we understand ...hope AF stays away

HeadFairy · 16/12/2008 12:12

good luck at the docs bubblebell, I hope you get some answers!

Gateau · 16/12/2008 11:55

It's lookig good, morethanchoc, looking good.
best of luck for that special Christmas present!

JumpingJellyfish · 16/12/2008 11:46

Hello ladies and welcome to morethanchocolate, cantwaitforxmas, headfairy and olivo- really hoping this is your lucky month!

Well I started spotting yesterday afternoon but as yet it still hasn't turned into full flow. I keep telling myself to get a reality check- had spotting the past 3 cycles 3 days before full-flow, and it took that long before full-flow started, so it's very likely that AF is well on her way. But a tiny part of me is still a little bit hopeful because the spotting started 3 days later than it has the past 3 cycles...Clutching at straws I know!
Anyway I will resist testing until Thursday at least as I bet AF will be here properly by then...just wish she'd get going so I'm not in any doubt! Weirdly this month I haven't been having tummy cramps that I usually get a couple of days before AF...but again know I'm clutching at straws, need to stop obsessing and get on with my life!!

irishmumwannabe- sounds really, really positive!! I take my hat off to you for resisting testing, but your rationale completely makes sense. Here's hoping when you test it'll be a very quick, unambiguous BFP!

morethanchocolate- symptoms sound good! are you going to test on Friday if AF doesn't appear? Fingers crossed for you!

Went to see DS's first nativity play this morning, he was so cute even if a bit, erm, distracted! Makes me realise I'm so lucky to have had 2 DCs already & maybe we're just being greedy wanting #3... But as DD has cystic fibrosis we really have thought about this long & hard, and still want to go for it...

Good luck all xxx
