OK girls, will go and get the list, but have lots of comfy sofa's and chairs, chocolate cake and virtual champagne.

Good luck and positive vibes to us all!

Evening ladies,
Am just popping in very quickly to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. Lots of babydust to all - am hoping we'll be talking on an antenatal thread this time next year.....x
Will catch up with everyone tomorrow because I'm just about to go out.

Molliemooma · 31/12/2008 18:23

Just a quick one to say Happy New Year to you all and wishing you all many many BFP's

Thanks for all your support this year

Comma2 · 31/12/2008 16:58

BFN for me too--monitor says 2 days over, but still 2 days till normal lenght of cycle. But sure expensive early-test must be right, so will go ahead with NYE celebration and moving of furniture.

beanieb · 31/12/2008 14:03

ey up, here it comes. Pink spotting. Guess tomorrow will be CD 1!

beanieb · 31/12/2008 12:47

Am pretty certain there will be no shagging for me tonight, we're staying with my OHs brother and sister in law so I wouldn't want to be doing the bold thing at theirs. Plus I feel sure my period will come. Am resigned to the fact that this has ben a cycle without ovulation.

theboob · 31/12/2008 12:15

beanieb keeping my fingers crossed for you ,i had 3 BFN until i got a BFP on the same cycle
well trying to keep up with the BD but getting bored now
started to get un romantic and we both know the only reason were doing it

good luck for the new year everyone i really hope we all get BFP's really soon

pinkie08 · 31/12/2008 11:23

beanieb

keep up the bding am sure i read somewhere that this happened to someone and when she got her BFP she had conceived really late in the previous cycle. while no af there is always hope for that BFP

insertsomethingwitty
I dont think any of us feel any differently. Last weekend my mum said a cousin has had a baby, conceived the weekend of my wedding. Do i care i have started shrugging a shoulder and saying things like "yes well other people can have them cant they" that usually shuts them up.

I also find it very different to when one of us on the threads gets a BFP as we are all supporting each other and therefore the feeling of congrats is totally real as we all know each others stories its impossible not to be pleased for each other.

Anyway, sorry for long rant,

beanieb · 31/12/2008 08:57

monitor says low
Says I should have had my period yesterday but still no sign.
Test says not pregnant.

Sigh.

Comma2 · 31/12/2008 00:08

Insertsomethingwitty: oh, perfectly normal. Not many that don't feel like that.

The only thing worse I figure is that forlorn look that old ladies sometimes get when they look at babies...uh.

Comma2 · 31/12/2008 00:05

Not much, beanieb....sorry to hear. It was a good theory though (my name is Anne Elk...).

I am still spotting on and off, monitor claims I should get period today, CD 25. Usually comes 27-28 though, but who knows.

Insertsomethingwittyhere · 30/12/2008 22:31

Hello again .

Oooh many many many congratulations VJay! How lucky you are!
Molliemooma, I really hope that there is more luck on all these threads too.
Pinkie and Shayera, I'm really sorry to hear that 2008 wasn't your year

Quick question : Do you all feel like your torn in two when you hear that someone is pregnant/just given birth, or is that just me? My sister called the other week to tell me that she got a BFP after only 2 tries. I try to be really happy for her, and I am, but inside I'm bubbling with jealousy . And then yesterday at work, we got a call for a woman in labor, -I'm a paramedic- we got there just in time to deliver her third baby boy. I passed the most beautiful baby to her, after a really quick and lovely birth and tried hard to congratulate her, but it was like my throat seized for a moment, and I just couldn't I was so jealous. How bad is that?

Anyway, on a positive note, I'm ovulating atm so fingers crossed!

Shayer I promise I will never whisper anything to you again So sorry you couldn't finish the year on a high
Beanie Not sure what to think about all the goings on with you and your cycle and monitor? Try and hang on a couple more days before testing if you can (who I am kidding )
Comma Hello and welcome, sorry to hear about your m/c like Jaamy said you are in good company in here.
Insertsomethingwittyhere Hello and welcome to you too, I really hope two newbies will mean more good luck for our thread. I hope your stay here is short (In the nicest possible way!)

Nothing much to report from me, think I am about to OV, but feeling really chilled out as still not TTC at the moment til February, it's very strange watching everyone obsessing like I do every month almost like an out of body experience

OP posts:
beanieb · 30/12/2008 14:21

lol - I was just about to go and do it!

Hope you're ok, though I know me asking doesn't make it any better

All we can do is hope for the best for the next year I guess. I have my fertility thing in a few weeks.

ShayeraHol · 30/12/2008 14:19

Thanks beanie - tough, isn't it! Never thought I'd reach the end of the year without anything.

I'd wait until tomorrow - if you do it now and it's neg, then no way of knowing if it's because of the lack of FMU. But easy for me to say, less easy to actually wait!

beanieb · 30/12/2008 13:20

Gaaahhh sorry to hear this again ShayeraHol
I would say 'it'll happen' but people have been saying that to me for months.

Just went to get a test. Now I wonder if there's any point me doing it now or waiting until tomorrow. I may as well know either way, right? But I don't have FMU!

ShayeraHol · 30/12/2008 13:05

That's me out for 2008. Starting to wonder if this is ever going to happen.

Hiya insertsomethingwittyhere Want me to add you to the list? We need your Cycle Day (CD) to add you. Am assuming you are on Cycle 8 now unless your cycle is really short? Let me know and I'll add you.

Comma2 my period was heavy though and lasted 6 days-ish. then stopped, then started again. Anyway - I finally got a low today so what does that do for your theory

Am pretty sure my period will be here for new year.

Insertsomethingwittyhere · 30/12/2008 01:48

Hi! I'm completely new to mumsnet, so I don't know the rules and suchlike, but I thought I'd introduce myself and say hello. If I'm getting everything wrong, and I'm in the wrong topic or something like that, please just show me the door, I won't take offence!

I'm Kate, 24, my partner and I have been ttc our first child for 8 months now. Obviously, we've had no success, but we're still hoping! I'd really love to talk to people in a similar situation to me .

Sorry this is short and kinda awkward. I'm hopelessly shy and have no idea what to say!

Hope you all get positive tests very soon!

Looking forward to talking more.

Kate

Comma2 · 29/12/2008 23:56

Ok beanie, sorry very much to obsess on your behalf, but:

'I've been getting highs for two weeks though, and the monitor gives a peak after a few highs normally. It's not a sudden leap from low to high unfortunately. I know the highs come from an Estrogen increase and the peak from the LH increase so am assuming as there was no peak I didn't ovulate so didn't get the LH surge you see when you ovulate.

naw--here is my theory: the second line doesn't show estrogen (though its raising in your body), it only shows the raise of LH or hcg if its there. If it isn't low long enough first, the monitor calibrates the peak line to be 'high' and waits for something stronger, which will never come as line is already maxed out.

If it didn't go low-high but was high for two weeks I guess you are pregnant from last cycle and that bleeding wasn't AF.

'My last period was slightly different to the last few in that it stopped and started and I got spotting about 2 days after it had stopped.'

Aha! My gynae said that implantation can look like period and then some. If it's weirdly different from af, so much the better I say.

' I doubt this was implantation as it was before I usually ovulate.'

Hu? Bleeding before you usually ovulate? That doesn't excldue implantation! Especially if you don't ovulate when you are already pregnant.

Tadaaa! Not to get your hopes up hun, but I'll eat my hat.....

Comma2 · 29/12/2008 23:36

Only sign of hope: zits! Have pimples like last pregnancy. Welcome if necessary baby-side effect, but otherwise not.

Anybody else have cute pseudo-symptoms?
