OK girls, will go and get the list, but have lots of comfy sofa's and chairs, chocolate cake and virtual champagne.

Good luck and positive vibes to us all!

I am just wondering, if I have 3 months worth of Clomid and I start taking it in Mid april, do I have to then keep it up or can I have a month on then a month off? I bet I can't.

My OH is so stressed at the moment, plus he's going to be away for a stag do (his) for a couple of days some time and I am worried it will be planned smack bang in the middle of my ovulation which would mean I would be taking the Clomid for no reason, and getting all the side effects!

PistachioLemon · 01/04/2009 10:30

I know, it's crap isn't it. Some people get up the duff by just looking at a willy and we have to soldier on. I don't know about you, but sex every day / every other day is just not what we do any more. Don't get me wrong it's lovely to be having more of it, and probably we should have been before ttc, but it does put such a lot of pressure on it. And I imagine taking Clomid and wanting to make the most of it will be even worse. It's no good either just saying 'relax, it'll happen when you least expect it' because trying to relax is stressful in itself and I certainly don't want it to happen when I least expect it, I want it NOW! Anyhow, this month my resolution is to try having more of it just because we want to... ie not just in the fertile period. I think poor DH was beginning to feel like a sperm machine!

Sorry I've just read that back and I don't know if any of it makes sense or is any help at all!

beanieb · 01/04/2009 09:58

thing is, I'm getting upset about the whole process not really the fact that we didn't have sex. We didn't have sex because I got upset about it and so then I wasn't in the mood either. I just don't feel like he wants to have sex with me particularly as it seems to be such an effort. I know he's having a really tough time at work lately and I should be more sympathetic but I'm just frustrated by the whole thing. Plus I am really worried about the next 3 months because by taking Clomid there will be even more pressure on us both to have sex at the right times or else I will feel like we're wasting being on clomid in the first place.

It just doens't help that I feel like I am putting loads of pressure and importance onto the whole thing and it's not going to get better, it's going to get worse. Plus I don't know if he's up to having those demands and expectations put on him

PistachioLemon · 01/04/2009 09:51

Awww Beanie

[big big hugs]

See if you can have a go this evening .

Does that mean you'll then be joining me in the 2WW? Hopefully you won't need the Clomid after all.

xxx

Oh Beanie, [hugs] sorry to hear your feeling so blue. I think I know what you mean, I also feel like I'm forcing DH to have sex and wish it could be more romantic and spontaneous, but if I left it to him I worry that we would never get pregnant or it would take a very very long time! Is there any chance you could have a go this evening instead?

beanieb · 01/04/2009 08:29

Oh dear, I really am having the worst time ever. Got my second peak today and although the last thing he said to me last night was 'you can wake me up early in the morning' when it came to it I felt that he was so not into it that it wasn't really worth my while, and anyway I don't want to be demanding sex from him just to make a baby. So we didn't and ended up having a big argument instead because I am so rubbish at explaining what I am thinking. i.e that I feel like I am pressuring him to do something he really isn't that fussed about doing. He wants children but I feel like I am always the one pushing for us to have sex at the right times but that he's just too knackered and stressed (work stuff) to make the effort and it makes me feel crap.

So I recon we'll miss it this month anyway and all our plans to go for it and try to get pregnant before having to start on Clomid are out the window.

Not sure where I am supposed to get support from if not from him. I really do need to stop crying as it does no one any good. I used to be hard as nails! what happened? I think this whole process is driving us apart.

Jaamy · 31/03/2009 13:55

And beanie - I had forgotten about your impending nuptials! How's the planning going? Is it providing some distraction?

Jaamy · 31/03/2009 13:53

blackrock - fitted dress? Sure fire way to get up the duff! I like your thinking!

beanie - I am a clomid graduate. Worked for us after 4 years of trying. Was prescribed it a couple of months after HSG and had DD1 a year later! No hair loss! Though not sure I would have minded. DD1 is such a delight. Well worth all the wait and stress. I really truly hope you get a similar outcome. I think they may have put you on clomid as the next course of action no matter what your age.

BTW - I also conceived the day I sat on a fertility seat in Kirby Stephen...keep meaning to re-visit!

beanieb · 31/03/2009 13:12

It just says on my leaflet that it can cause hair thining. I have thin enough hair as it is and I am getting married in July so was growing iot but now am worried I might have to have it cut.

I can't start taking them until at least the 13th April so I shouldn't start worrying about it yet I guess.

Lol at the fitted dress Blackrock!

Zwn sorry to hear about the BFN.

Wave to everyone else.

blackrock · 31/03/2009 13:06

Beanie. For a friend of mine, the Clomid did work and she was 41. after eight years of TTC, so just keep trying and stay as calm as you can. Sorry you are so and understandably so upset. It is a difficult answer to have been given.

What is the hair thing? I have never heard of that !

I bought and have been using an ovulation kit. I have been temping monitoring EWCM and getting day 11, but the kit gave me day six (a day earlier than have BD before), so now I have my hopes up.

Often a few days after BD, I get pains low down in my abdomen and have had this again yesterday. Probably means nothing, although have just bought a nice fitted expensive dress to wear in June....

beanieb · 31/03/2009 12:06

I should be positive about the fact that they have told me this morning that I have unexplained infertility and have prescribed me Clomid for my next cycle as it's all they can do for me on the NHS, shouldn't I? So why am I so upset?

Am I going to lose my hair?

Jaamy · 30/03/2009 22:39

Zen - sending a huge amount of hugs in your direction. Enjoy the wine this weekend... may it be your last big session! x

I was told the same codswollop tales about it being easier to conceive after MC (similar to "how easy it was to get pregnant, anytime of the month, a willy even near your vagina, etc,", dontchaknow thegreatescape!!) Tis apparently true for most but no help if you are in the minority.

PL - I wasn't much good at remembering the stick thing, either. Nor at temping for that matter. Have resorted to having a good old grope (sorry if TMI) when the knicker fairy tells me I might be ripe!

DH is going away with work until Thurs. Am going to tell him to take (or at least hide) HPTs so that I'm not tempted to test before Friday. I know I'm building myself up for a fall (cramping and moodiness already) but I need a bit of optimism in my life right now!

Claire - my (nearly) cycle buddy - are you out there? Not seen you for a while. How are you feeling about this month? Hope you're feeling positive too!

Gosh these babes-to-be are certainly giving us a run for our money!

zen1980 · 30/03/2009 21:52

Hey guys well after a long drawn out nearly 2 weeks late again a big fat BFN this morning, which I always find helps bring on AF and true to my word i definatly know shes here!! Am eating everything in sight to comfort myself deep down i knew i wasnt but wanted to be kind of regular again with cycle, not have the longest cycle of my life!!.Now i haven't got a clue, so back to ov tests daily and hope for the best. Hopefully dh will feel a bit more like it this month think he has been scared really. Although I knew it was very unlikely this month feel incredibly down as i sort of believed everyone when they say you are more likely to conceive after a mc??

Hope everyones ok as they can be for a Monday im off to bed to wollow in self pity for the rest of night!!

At least I can have a drink this weekend then!!

PistachioLemon · 30/03/2009 19:20

I know... fecking liars! I'm more than slightly miffed about that load of codswollops. Poor you and DH being ill and everything. Better luck next time .

I've decided to give up with the ov sticks as I kept forgetting to do them at the same time and the fact that I wasn't getting a positive was really freaking me out. A little knowledge is definitely a dangerous thing for me and anyway, temping seems easier as I just do it when the alarm goes off in the morning. Having said that I am notorious for changing my mind so will probably go back to them next month!

thegreatescape · 30/03/2009 18:32

I think I got an ov stick pos but some are a little ambiguous (except the smiley face ones!). Unfortunately, we have all had colds but have 'soldiered on' so to speak with the BDing! Will carry on in the spirit of tmi...as

However, poor under-the-weather dh didn't, ahem, cross the finishing line so to speak which is fairly important to winning the race

But then again, isn't it the taking part that counts???

Slightly miffed about being told constantly in my teenage years how easy it was to get pregnant, anytime of the month, a willy even near your vagina, etc, etc. Bloody liars.

PistachioLemon · 30/03/2009 11:26

Oh beanie sorry I didn't mean to miss you out. Hello! How are you feeling? I meant to ask, when's your appointment with the fertility people?

And Barbie glad to hear all your tests came back fine. So now all you have to stress about is learning how to de-stress. Good luck! Easier said than done, I know.

PistachioLemon · 30/03/2009 11:22

Morning Ladies, how are you all today? Hope you had good weekends?

Zen did you test yet? I'm hoping that it's a BFP for you...let us know how it goes.

Hi Comma and Glastochick and Molliemooma how are you?

Jaammy - interesting question... and tmi on its way...I thought I might be ovulating bc of the RAGE and twinges down below etc but the sticks and temps said not. In fact temps have been really low (under 97F) and I was beginning to think that I wasn't going to ovulate but yesterday I finally got some EWCM (woohoo) and this morning temps are over 97F so I'm hoping, really really hoping that I have/am ovulating and rage, twinges and everything were just pre-ov-tension!

Anyhow, how been making like a busy bee (I'm definitely now over the brother-in-law in the next room shyness)so I hope we've caught it this month. If I am ovulating relatively late (CD17/18) then that would help to explain the previous months as I've always assumed that it would be CD14 or thereabouts...

Sorry this turned into bit of an essay!

Jaamy · 30/03/2009 11:08

Zen - ant news, hun? Am hoping that the ebay cheapies were just playing with you and that you've had a BFP with MN's fave CBD. Will keep things crossed for you.

Comma - hope you feel better soon. You know we're all jealous of your MS here! Take care and please keep popping in to say hi! x

Well, I have diagnosed myself with MS - obvious really, as the queasiness I'm feeling couldn't be due to over indulgence at the weekend!

Glasto - sorry to see you at the top of the list. How are things with you?

PL and Beanie - are you making the most of your OV?????

Hope everyone else is ok.

zen1980 · 28/03/2009 20:22

Beanie your a lot braver than I would be big hugs for being so strong. I go weak at the knees everytime i hear someone is pregnant and then feel overwhelmingly guilty straight after!!!

Hope everyones having a good weekend, still no af for me and am on cd 39 have tested with cheapo ebay tests and got bfn same as last time. So if nothing by morning will test with proper test other than being pregnant do not have a clue why the longest cycle ever!! Spoke about testing with DH who admitted hes really scared but theres only one way to get what we all want and this is to go through the TTC and pregnancy bit. Feel for him because has to watch and wait for it to happen x

Has anyone else had anything similar after a mc my first af was more of less on time and then second month this????

beanieb · 28/03/2009 16:34

Oh blimey. Just met up with my oldest best friend - she's pregnant.Am absolutely delighted for her and it shouldn't (isn't) be a surprise because she'd talked about it a bit lately. She said she was worried about telling me and that she knew she was pregnant last time we met up and talked about my issues, but couldn't tell me because it was too early.

I kind of wish she hadn't told me until after my appointment with the fertility people as I'm stressing now that they might have bad news for me but I have to stop myself from thinking negatively.

She said she hopes I get pregnant soon so we can go through our pregnancies together. Of cours i hope so too but kind of feel like it's just never going to happen for me.

Oh well. Onwards and upwards .

Molliemooma · 28/03/2009 11:19

I thought I was the only one who got ovulation rage (phew)

OP posts:
PistachioLemon · 27/03/2009 21:30

Hey Beanie, I think I may have ovulation rage as I type. Had a massive rant at DH this evening for no real reason and have sent him off to the pub with his brother! Aaarghh! Ought to have kept him in really . How are you doing today?

Hi Comma - don't think we've met before. I'm a newbie on here ttc#1.

beanieb · 27/03/2009 19:06

Hey Comma, nice to see you! Hope the sickness goes soon.

Am about to ovulate i think. Do other people get ovulation rage!
