Mibbes Hope you are recovering well. I have had a peek at your profile and seen the photos of Evan - he is GORGEOUS . I keep thinking about you all and those wonderful first days of being a new family.

Caitni Poor you, having your cards taken. i can't believe no-one saw and woke you up {fshock] Glad it is all sorted out and it is not going to cost you anything. It's your GP appt tomorrow, isn't it? Hope it goes well, and that you get lots of info about all possible options at this point.

PnM The patchwork sounds lovely! I do tapestry, and find it very relaxing and therapeutic. It stops me falling asleep infront of the tv! I'm glad your period has finally arrived and that you have got the hsg booked. I know it's not exactly something to look forward to, but hopefully it will be a step towards finding out what's holding things up. Oh, and at your work colleague. People really have NO idea of what all this is like unless they have experienced it. She should learn to keep her mouth shut though.

EI I hope you have caught the egg this month. I would love you to get a nice festive BFP Did DD enjoy seeing FC?

MrsH I hope your DD enjoyed seeing the big man as well . I am concerned about the bleeding you are having - that sounds odd. Is it still continuing? Is it possible to speak to your consultant on the 'phone and mention it to him?

Well, it's now only 2 sleeps 'till our date with dildo-cam . I can't wait, i wish i could magic the hours away!

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 07/12/2008 11:00

hi ladies
@ your weird bleeding mrsH i would maybe call the consultant up for some advice as it definitely doesnt sound normal as you know we are taking DD to see FC this afternoon too he is amazing being in 2 places at once magic!!
mob only 3 more sleeps to go isnt it?
xx ei xx

MrsHappy · 07/12/2008 09:11

Picknmix I am sorry that your period showed up, but as Ei says, at least now you can get on with your test. Honestly the HSG is really not that bad I promise. It is uncomfortable, in the same was that a smear is, but I had read that if you only had one tube it was agony and it really was not. I did take 2 paracetomol and 2 nurofen about 45 mins before, so maybe that helped (at least maybe it helped me relax). If you can breathe deeply when they are putting the catheter in that will help them because you will be relaxed, and then hopefully it will be a piece of cake. Also, I make patchwork too. And I knit (not very well so mostly scarves!). Maybe we should be the WIMBLEWAI(N)F Grannies thread. And also am sending a virtual slap to your stupid work colleague.

Caitni at the fuckers for stealing your cards! But at least the card people were being vigilant. I'm glad you are enjoying driving. I have to say if you can drive around Brighton, you can drive anywhere!

MOB nearly scan day now. I am so excited for you.

Ei hurrah for well timed egg. I really hope this one is your month.

Well, I have reason to suspect I am out already and that is because I am 4dpo, and have cramps and am bleeding. Yes, actual blood. It started with a blob of brown CM yesterday and last night turned to proper red blood which today is grown again. All very perplexing. I think my hormones are ok (judging from temps) so I can't help thinking that the bastard thing they could see in my uterus is doing this. Suddenly I have the urge to get surgery right away.

Oh well, am taking DD to see FC this afternoon so that will take my mind off my useless reproductive organs.

See you all later.

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 06/12/2008 21:55

hi PnM sorry AF arrived for you but at least now you can move forward and have the hsg good luck for this oh festive cycle
mob only 4 sleeps to go
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

PicknMix · 06/12/2008 19:11

Hi everybody,

I'm sorry I haven't been around much - its been very busy chez PnM this week....

Its so lovely to hear from you Mibbes and to hear how much in love you and Mr Mibbes are with little Evan

How are you feeling MrsH? I'm sorry to hear that you've been having a rough time of it lately. Have you been to visit Father Christmas with DD this weekend? Bet her face was a picture . I really hope the hysteroscopy (sp?)can give you a few more answers - I know January does seem like an age away though and getting the news of your friends pregnancy in the same week is very tough to cope with. Big hugs for you xx

Caitni thats great news that the sa results aren't quite the doom and gloom you had thought and that the oncologist was so encouraging. Deffo think a holiday is in order . Great to hear how excited you are about your driving as well!! I have taken up sewing (I know, I know, it makes me sound about 80) as an aversion technique. Have been making patchwork cushion covers, a patchwork quilt and some Christmas decorations and actually finding it quite theraputic so know exactly what you mean about learning a new skill lifting your spirits! Sun was deffo shining down south today although I was working all day so didn't see much of it!

Only 4 more sleeps MOB - can only imagine the bittersweet feelings you must be going through but we will, of course, be [cyber] hand holding on scan day

Good timing with the egg Ei, hope you were busy last night

Really lovely of you to pop in Abby and that things are going well, if a little busy Only just over a week for both you and JB to go now - how very exciting

My period finally made an appearance! I now have my hsg booked for thursday. Have booked the whole day off to wallow after as I'm sure my pain threshold is much lower than MrsH's . It also seems that the more invasive the tests, the more down I get about it all so hopefully it will be quick and finished with.

Had an 'interesting' comment from the [pregnant] girl I work with today - she now knows the ttc troubles I am going through (decided to be honest with her) and although she was sympathetic, she finished the day by saying 'oooo, your scan is on the same day as my 16wk appt, how ironic'..... Hmmmm, wouldn't call it irony love, more like a kick in the teeth

Ah well.... Must learn to just stop being so emotional!

Caitni · 06/12/2008 14:24

Mibbes so glad that you're home and that you and MrMibbes are enjoying Evan (I love the name btw!). I read your birth story and it sounded like quite scary time, but hopefully, with Evan in your arms, it's starting to feel like quite a while ago already!

Ei Sounds like you'll have caught this egg good and proper . I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that POAS gives you an early Chrimbo present

MOB it must be so nerve racking waiting for the scan, but the symptoms developing are a really good sign. Only four sleeps now!! I still grin whenever I think about you being pregnant btw, it's been wonderful to be by your cyber side during these past months

MrsH hope you're feeling a bit brighter today. I'm a bit but I have no idea who eeyore is, other than that he's in Winnie the Pooh (never read those books as a child!).

PnM hope the sun's shining with you today too as it's a lovely bright day in Brighton [fmsile]. We've got some friends arriving down for the weekend soon, so I'm glad they'll get to see the South Coast in such good weather

And hello to RFN2 if you're lurking - hope things are good with you .

to everyone not mentioned by name!

I've had a rush of a morning - my driving lessons are on a Sat morning so the tidying/stocking up on supplies for the soon-to-arrive friends was all a bit rushed. Loving the learning to drive though - my instructor thinks I'm hilarious cos I keep saying things like "god, clutch control is amazing...it's like a miracle...or a super power" as I ramble through the lessons. Strangely, the progress (and praise!) of learning a new skill has kind of lifted my spirits about ttc. It's something tangibly (sp?) positive and helps me from obsessing as much...

Did I tell you gals about my victim of crime-ness this week? On the train on Tues morning I was pickpocketed in such a stealthy way - they actually opened my handbag (a zip one), opened my wallet (again it has a zip) and took the cards from half my wallet. Thank god Natwest fraud people phoned on Tue pm or I'd not have realised (I only use about two of my cards regularly). In typical sod's law fashion, I had my theory test booked for Wed morning at 8am and of course they also robbed my provisional licence so I couldn't take it. Rather I must have been asleep on the train (well, I know I was asleep on the train on Tue am - I was so out that I actually mentioned it to colleagues when I got in...double ) and what gets me is that no one said, "hey, wake up, you're being robbed!". At least I'm not liable for any of the 9 transactions that went through on Tuesday though...

OK, enough of my ramblings! Hope everyone has an utterly spiffing weekend (motoring brings out my Enid Blyton vocab ) as I won't be checking back in til tomorrow avo.

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 05/12/2008 23:09

hi ladies
mibbes good to see you home with your little boy i agree about the BF it does take a few days to settle down and you will soon be multi tasking with a baby attatched to your boob
mrsH sorry you are feeling down in the dumps here is some 's to cheer you up
caitni thanks i like my new name too i think your temp might be lower cos odf the poo cold weather we are having so dr ei's orders wrap up in your duvet, get a hot water bottle on your belly and have unlimited cups of hot choccy in fact i prescribe that to us all
MOB only 5 more sleeps until you see the twins
PnM any sign??i hope things sort themselves out for you soon
hello to everyone else lurking or otherwise
i think my egg has possibly appeared today as i have had sharp twinges on my right hand side so if i get jiggy with DH tonight hopefully i will have timed it well
xx ei xx

MrsHappy · 05/12/2008 20:45

Mibbes I've read your birth story and I'm so glad you're ok - it must have been pretty frightening. And it's great that you are enjoying being a mummy.

BTW, I saw on the other thread that BF has not really worked for you so far. One thing I would say is that you're only a couple of days in and it's completely normal for milk not to come in for 4 days or so, or for latching to take a few days to learn. If you do want to give it a go (and that is entirely your choice) you might still be able to.

Take it easy and look after yourself.

And thanks to everyone who has tried to cheer me up. I feel like eeyore at the moment...

mibbes · 05/12/2008 20:27

Hello ladies - home from hospital with my wee angel - congrats on becoming cyber-aunties again ladies . I will post pohotos soon. I have posted my birth story on the Emmsy TTC thread if you are interested. Am loving mummyhood, I so hope you are all feeling the same way very very soon

Madoldbird · 05/12/2008 19:15

Hello everyone

Mibbes hope you and baby Evan are doing well.

MrsH Sorry to hear you are having a miserable day. I know that there's nothing i can say that will make things better (I wish there was) but i do recognise those feelings you are having - i spent 18m months terrified of hearing other people's pregnancy announcements. The feelings you are having are normal - they just reflect how much you would like another baby. Hope you manage to have a good weekend, and do something nice (and have a large glass of something tonight ).BTW - the sex sounds fairly well timed to me.

Caitni Really glad to hear you sounding brighter, and reassured about your DH's results. I think you should follow the oncologist's advice and book a holiday . It'll be interesting to see what the GP suggests on Tuesday. Your chart is interesting - you certainly look chilly - i feel i should buy you a hot water bottle

How is everyone else? PnM? EI? (brilliant name)

JB & abby It's lovely to think of you two having your CS on the same day!

Well, the sickness & tiredness have really kicked in here now. I guess that's a good thing . 5 more sleeps until the scan! I can't wait to have it, although i'm terrified that they're going to say "no, sorry, your mistaken, there's nothing in there". I'm just hoping and praying that there is a nice healthy bean in there.

Caitni · 05/12/2008 16:38

MrsH sorry to hear you're having a bad day - big to you. It's so so hard to hear of other women's pregnancies when struggling to have a baby. I know it sounds trite, but your turn will come and everything will have been worth it then. Hope you have a good weekend. PS makes sense about the lap now

MrsHappy · 05/12/2008 14:41

Hi all

Caitni I am very glad to hear that your DH's test results were not as bad as you initially feared. Hopefully you'll have caught your egg this time and all of this worry will be a distant memory! Your chart looks fine to me - I am a bit colder this month too and I reckon it is just the evil weather. The reason noone has inspected my uterus before is that when they did the lap it was to remove my ectopic - they weren't interested in doing a general inspection, they just wanted to do the medical bits. The most I think they might have done would be to put some dye through my tube, but even that was deemed too risky in the circumstances so I have to have all these tests now...

MOB How are the symptoms coming?

Ei Did your egg appear yet?

PnM Are you well? Any sign of your period?

I am having a bit of a down day. I ovd on Weds morning on my good side, but the sex only happened on Sunday night and Weds night so my chances are slim (and with this whatever-the-heck in my uterus I probably don't stand a chance anyway). Plus I have just found out that the only other one of my DD's friends who is an only child will be getting a sibling in about 5 months. It's weird, every time I hear that anyone is pg my mind literally goes blank and I feel like I have short circuited. I wish I could pull myself together. On the upside, thank god me and DH decided to start trying before DD was one. Imagine if we had left it until now and still had 18 months of disappointment and frustration in front of us!

I hope you all have a good weekend. Bring on the christmas BFPs!

Caitni · 05/12/2008 11:10

Morning everyone,

Firstly massive CONGRATULATIONS to Mibbes on the birth of baby Evan!!! Sorry to hear about the ECS but hope you're enjoying these first days with your new little boy

MrsHappy so sorry to hear that the consultant has recommended a hysteroscopy . But at least he's found something - to think you had a lap and they didn't mention anything (I find that quite odd but perhaps I'm not understanding the range of these investigations...) - and it could well be precisely what's holding things up. And don't be too hard on yourself about the age gap between your DD and your future baby - think of all the time and attention you can lavish on your DD now and that when your baby is born she'll be old enough to know and understand (as much as a toddler!). Hope you did manage to catch the egg this month though

PnM hello . Has your period arrived yet? I'm still hoping you get your HSG before Christmas...

MOB so happy to hear your symptoms developing nicely . Not long now until your first scan - so exciting

Ei I just LOVE your new festive name! You always have the best names and I doff my proverbial cap at your imagination . Was also gobsmacked to hear of MW calling you about your induction when you'd just given birth in the same hospital . Any sign of ov for you yet?

Abby & JollyBear not long now before you meet your little babies!! How exciting

to everyone else

Not much going on with me this month. I ov'ed last Saturday, and we managed some good regular, every two days BD (including on ov day), so of course am hopeful. Though my chart looks so strange - very low post ov temps, even by my standards (I'm definitely not a toasty person). For anyone who wants a nosy my chart is here

Thanks for all the tips re my DH's SA results! I've had him on a cocktail of vits since mid-Sept, though he is now necking them with a lot more enthusiasm than before , so hopefully when he has his next SA there may be an improvement wit...we've decided there's no need for him to have the next SA til the new year, as we can kind of put everything on hold and just (try to!) relax over Christmas . To be honest, now I've actually seen his results, the only problem is the 13.5m/ml count - he even has more (just!) than the 40m/ml total recommended by WHO and all the other parameters are fine - so we both feel a lot more relaxed. He saw his oncologist on Tuesday and was assured that, for what he went through, his results are excellent (the oncologist, who I love btw, recommended he take me away for a holiday!! He may be onto something as the only BFP we ever got was after a holiday ). We're still planning to see a fertility expert at some point in the new year, so will just have to wait and see until then.

I've also got an appointment with a female GP on Tuesday morning, to see what she recommends re next steps.

Sorry for the ramble! Have been too busy to be on MN much over the past week

PicknMix · 03/12/2008 22:57

Juts popping on quickly to say a massive congratulations to Mibbes, MrMibbes and Miblet

SO pleased to hear all is ok now, although it does sound like you've had a bit of an ordeal. Take care of yourselves, big cuddles to little Evan xx

MrsHappy · 03/12/2008 21:04

Hello all

Mibbes I hope you are nice and comfortable and getting to know your wee chap. I'm made up for you.

Ei I hope you are doing well. Any sign of your egg yet?

Kate I will pass on what you have said to Bucky (when I get round to emailing her) too. Although the NHS might not spring for IVF I think they should at least be providing some sort of specialist care. If she hasn't totally had enough of ttc then Bucky might want to look at that.

MOB, PnM and Caitni I hope you are well.

Well I think I ovd today but there has been no action since Sunday. Last night my DH claimed to be feeling ill. [Grrr] I will try to see if I can get him to make the effort tonight but we'll see. Either way it sounds like there is no real point given my weird uterus. Ho hum. At least I can reintroduce myself to the lovelines that is red wine!! (Until I get my op... sometime in January).

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 03/12/2008 11:04

mibbes iv said it on emmsys but il say it again here CONGRATS on the birth of little EVAN sorry it had trauma and ECS but im sure you are recovering well and are smitten with your little man

kate2179 · 03/12/2008 10:54

I was lurking around your thread after I posted for Mibbes earlier, and I read Bucky's sad news. I don't know much about her history, but I was shocked (and pretty appalled) to read what her gp had told her regarding ivf now they know she is able to conceive. I was also really sad to read that she seemed to be assuming the problem was with her ability to carry successfully. She may already have a lot of information, but if you think it would be useful when any of you are in touch with her by email, could you please pass on the following.

My DH's bf and his wife tried for about 3 years with no success. They didn't start trying til she was about 36. She fell pg a couple of times but suffered very early mc's. She was allowed one attempt at ivf on the nhs when she was 39 - in fact it was about 6 weeks before her 40th Birthday. It was a huge success and their little girl is now 18 months old. They've been trying again for a while. She's had 2 more early mc's, one at about 7 weeks ane one at about 10. They're planning on trying ivf again next summer, although this time they will have to go private. So far as I'm aware she was never told that the fact that she'd conceived previously meant she was precluded from nhs ivf treatment, although I know ivf can be a real postcode lottery still . They were treated in Salisbury in can anyone wonders. Really HTH in some small way. Kate xx

abbymeg · 03/12/2008 08:34

MrsHappy Thank you for doing that.

Mibbes huge, huge congratulations and what a lovely name!

Madoldbird · 03/12/2008 08:24

Thanks for the news kate!!!!

Much love and congratulations to Mibbes, and MrMibbes of course. I am so excited that our miblet is here. . What a lovely name. Sounds like it was a bit of an awful time, but i'm so pleased to hear that you are both safe and well. Enjoy

MrsHappy · 03/12/2008 07:54

Yay for Mibbes. Huge congratulations to you and your DH.

I hope you're ok and taking it easy. And thanks for letting us know Kate. Abby I should be emailing Bucky in the next day or two and will send her your best wishes. Lots of luck to you for a nice delivery in 12 days.

kate2179 · 03/12/2008 07:37

Morning ladies, I have some news for you all... Drum roll please....

Mibbes has had a BOY!!!!!

I'll copy out the text I had from them, then you'll all know as much as I do!

"Baby EVAN was born at 12.20am. He is 6lb 5oz and the spit of daddy! Ended up with emergency c-section after much panic but all ok now "

Poor Mibbes, I don't know what went on, but it sounds pretty stressful, although I don't suppose they care too much now as it seems everything has worked out beautifully!

MASSIVE congratulations to Mibbes, MrMibbes and their little Miblet! xxx

abbymeg · 02/12/2008 19:49

Hello all! It's been a long time (as I have battled through finishing work and marking GCSE papers). I am feeling that I've been so rubbish at keeping updated.

I'm so utterly gutted to read about my cycle-buddy Bucky, and sorry I didn't get myself on here before in time to say goodbye properly. I read the first page of this thread and was so happy, and then the second page . It's really hard to know what to say as I know how long it has been and the things that she has been through. I just hope a break away might help move things on. I am sending her my best wishes, and if anyone is in touch please give her my love.

So I'm badly out of touch and I will endeavour to read up on what I have missed.

13 days until C-Day. I'm counting down with Jolly at my side!

Best wishes and baby dust to you all.

Madoldbird · 02/12/2008 16:14

Wow Mibbes I am so excited!!! Hope it all goes really well for you, can't wait to hear all about our little miblet

MrsH I am so sorry to hear that yesterday's appt didn't bring better news for you. it must be so frustrating for you. Just try to hold on to the thought that it is a good thing that they have now discovered this, and once they have snipped the offending bits out, you will be well on your way to your baby. Much love and hugs to you. XX

Hi to everyone else - sorry this is a rushed post - will be back soon!

PicknMix · 02/12/2008 13:36

Just a quick post from me as am at work to say 'yay' re the imminent arrival of the miblet!!

Hope all goes well for you mibbes, keep us updated when you can, am so excited for you

Caitni · 02/12/2008 10:34

Mibbes OMG so exciting!! Lots and lots of luck for you over the coming hours. You're going to finally meet your little miblet - hurray!!!

I shall be back later to check in properly and see how everyone is.
