MrsHappy · 16/12/2008 11:49

Hello

Caitni no the op won't be sooner because it has to be between day 6 and 11 of my cycle which cleverly will fall over christmas this month, so it will be at the end of Jan. Your get healthy plan sounds great. I am fatter right now than I have ever been but I can't gear myself up to care...

I hope the births went well Abby and JB and that you are tucked up in bed cuddling your lovely babies.

Any more symptoms Ei?

Waves to MOB, Picknmix and everyone else.

Caitni · 15/12/2008 13:47

oh MrsH big to you. The monthly disappointment is hard to deal with...good that you can see the doctor this week though, does that mean your op will be sooner? And I love crinks by the way, the perfect expression for Christmas drinks

PnM I know what you mean about missing the optimism of the start of ttc - now that I'm on cycle 16, and have been ttc-ing a full 12 months, the optimism/innocence of last Christmas is a distant memory! But I've promised myself that I'm not going to dwell on the fact that I should be pregnant at the moment, instead I'm planning to enjoy Christmas and have a new year health blitz for me and my DH while we start proper investigations of the assisted conception route. The one thing about not being pregnant yet is that I know so much more now than I did 12 months ago that I'm going to try to put it to some good use getting healthy before trying IUI/IVF

And hope today's going splendidly for both Abby & JollyBear - I'm very excited for you both and can't wait to hear how it goes

Big waves to MOB and Ei and everyone else

MrsHappy · 15/12/2008 12:20

Sorry - I've just realised how doom and gloom my last post is!

No sunshine here, but on the bright side once this week is over I have 2 weeks off. Hurrah! And I do love christmas.

And I have just booked an appointment to see the chap who will do my op - and he can squeeze me in this week so I don't need to wait until next year. I just want to get on with it now.

Is everyone enjoying December?

MrsHappy · 15/12/2008 12:02

Sorry - brain was switched off and I forgot you have already been for your HSG . My Dr did say not to ttc this month, but we still did because I am useless at using contraception unless someone explains the reason why I should be careful. So when I had my first ectopic and the drugs they gave me can cause birth defects, that seemed a good reason to wait. A general "oh we think you should wait" is not sufficient!

Will make no difference to me anyway since I am almost certainly not up the spout.

I could scream, really. I can't bear the thought of another year like this one...

PicknMix · 15/12/2008 11:09

Awwwww MrsH big huge higs to you. TTC is such a disheartening process sometimes. I looked in on the 'TTC for the 1st time/1st Month' (not sure what its called) thread the other day out of pure nostalgic curiosity and I couldn't help but cry a little bit. I want that blind optimism back!!!!! It was so easy to write the words 'I'm not unrealistic, I know it could take months, years even' but inside you're thinking 'yeah, but it wont for me'.... 2 years on and I'm starting to feel the strain.

Is the sun shining with you? It is down here and I'm trying to see the positive in anything at the mo (its not quite working but its a start ).

Oh, and I'm still non the wiser re sex after hsg as my hospital told me to abstain from sex until my next cycle (apparently this is the 'new' government guideline) but I can't see why. I'm not bleeding, spotting or otherwise so am sure all is ok - surely the hsg should flush me out and I should use this time to its full advantage!?

Anyway, take care of yourself lovely lady xx

MrsHappy · 15/12/2008 07:34

PnM I expect I am too late but I think my hospital just instructed us to use protection. In the end we just did not have sex until after the HSG. Some hospitals recommend that you refrain so that you can be 100% certain you are not pg.

Cramps are continuing and temps are starting to drop. This is all terribly familiar and I am just SICK of the continual disappointment.

PicknMix · 14/12/2008 23:15

Am thinking of you both jb and abby, as mrsh says, can't wait to see the photos

MrsH I really hope you're wrong about the cramps - how long is your lp usually?

Hope your weekend was good Caitni?

Still got my fingers crossed for you Ei

I'm just home from a lovely weekend in Manchester, missed my dh a ridiculous amount so off to bed now to cuddle up (hospital said no nookie this month - think I may disregard that tho, altho without the antibiotics mayb I should be cautious, what did your dr recommend MrsH?)

Xx

MrsHappy · 14/12/2008 22:00

Ah, you'll both be grand.
After my DD's delivery a nice calm planned section was basically my idea of heaven...

I'm loking forward to seeing the photos of the new babies when you are up to it.

Ei how are those symptoms coming?

Caitni I hope you've enjoyed your guilt-free drinks.

PnM I hope you had a good and relaxing weekend.

I am feeling a little queasy but my (.)(.) don't hurt any more and I am having sort of fleeting cramps. As I am 11dpo I am pretty sure that this is all period-related. Ho hum, next time hey?

JollyBear · 14/12/2008 21:34

I'll have my fingers crossed for you both ei and mrsH!

Hello abby, I'm feeling rather nervous too .

I'll be sure to let you know how I get on too.

abbymeg · 14/12/2008 17:13

I'm getting very anxious now! I'll be sure to get on MN when I make it home and let you know how I've got on.

Good luck to anyone testing!

MrsHappy · 14/12/2008 08:19

"Crinks"? I may have meant drinks...

I'm not planning on testing anytime soon PnM. I just think it is a waste of money... This credit crunch is curbing my POAS habit! And I don't have any CM this time which is often a sign for me so I can't get too excited. It must be irksome that the antibiotics are making you feel sick. But at least they haven't given you a suppository! That was grim...

Jollybear and Abbymeg your babies must be due tomorrow, yes?

MOB I hope you are feeling ok, and are enjoying eating for three!

Any news Ei?

PicknMix · 14/12/2008 00:07

More to the point, when are you going to test MrsH ?!

Caitni, very sorry to hear af has arrived. I really hope you have a lovely time in London and this weekend to take your mind off it all. Big higs xx

Your symptoms are sounding rather hopeful Ei, fingers crossed for you !

I'm in Manchester this weekend, having a bit of a girly weekend. Annoyingly my antibiotics for the hsg are making me feel very queasy so am going to have to stop taking them and then contact the gp on Monday to get some different ones.

Hope you're having a good weekend all xx

MrsHappy · 13/12/2008 21:19

Ah, Caitni, I'm sorry your period showed up. . But at least you can have a few crinks over christmas before getting your BFP to kick off 2009!

Well I take back what I said about not being tired as this afternoon I have suddenly started feeling knackered. I even fell asleep on the sofa . Something's up; I just hope it is a correctly-situated bean and not some kind of winter bug!

When are you going to test, Ei?

Caitni · 13/12/2008 12:57

So looks like AF's here - we're heading up to London for the afternoon/evening so at least it means I can drink guilt-free...will be rooting for Ei and MrsH from the sidelines though!!

Caitni · 13/12/2008 09:34

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you both MrsH and Ei!!

Not feeling hopeful for myself - it's just too strange and have no symptoms other than lack of AF, even boobs aren't sore anymore!

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 13/12/2008 09:12

morning ladies
caitni still sounding positive for you i have no idea what dpo i am but i have had no ewcm since last week so im guessing at 6/7 dpo but who knows eh!!
mrsH you are allowed to get excited over your symptoms and you consultant said it isnt impossible to get preg with whatever it is causing the prob in your womb. good luck
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

MrsHappy · 13/12/2008 09:00

X posted, Caitni.
Maybe you are just one of thos people who gets positives later sometimes. Fingers crossed.

MrsHappy · 13/12/2008 08:59

OMG, how exciting!

*Caitni did you test yet?

Ei those symptoms sound very promising.

I was getting a bit excited about my spotting/cramping (a bit stupid given that I now know for sure that I am defective) but I don't have any other symptoms really. When I had my DD my first symptom was tiredness and I am not knackered atm so I think I cannot be pg. Although this morning I felt queasy until I had breakfast and I have sort of tingly nips. How I wish I could stop over-analysing and getting my hopes up...

Right, must go tame the 2 year old.

Caitni · 13/12/2008 08:55

Ei it sounds very promising - how many dpo are you now? If I were you I'd be testing but maybe wait a couple of days after the spotting, so the hormone levels rise enough. Will be keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you xxxx

So another BFN for me this morning, but still no AF and temp was higher than the last two days. Looks like I'm turning into one of those "my AF has vanished but I keep getting negatives" ladies who start threads sometimes...I really thought that CD11 was when I ov'ed as by CD12 I had all my post-ov signs (TMI alert: temp a bit up, absolutely no EWCM, cervix dropping...) but am thinking perhaps it was later, which would explain the BFN (since I am 14 dpo now and officially one day late so should surely be getting a positive result). Blardy annoying!

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 13/12/2008 00:15

hi ladies
iv not been around much for a few days just lurking as life has gotten in the way
caitni oooooooh!! test test test!! good luck!!
PnM i cant remember if i said it or what but im glad the hsg went well and you have at least one tube a spillething over
mrsH hope you are doing well
MOB how are the duet getting on?
hi to all others lurking or otherwise
sooooooo.....
i have symptoms...
i had some spotting today...that has only ever happened on 2 occasions...both of which i was preg...one resulted in an 8lb 12oz baby girl...
my (.)(.) feel really big and heavy and are very achey at the sides
i have lots of CM...
i am soooo tired it is unbelievable...
i have woken up with headaches and stuffy blocked nose feeling for the past 2-3 days and my headache refuses to go all day
and thats the ones that have been present without me making much of a fuss over them
soooo.... whaddya all think
xx ei xx

Caitni · 12/12/2008 22:53

Quiet on here tonight - hope you're all having great Fridays

So spotting has stopped & no sign of AF yet...13 dpo so officially late now...trying not to think about it (and failing fblush]) but haven't POAS as am convinced it'll be a BFN...I'll try with FMU tomorrow if AF is still a no-show...

Caitni · 12/12/2008 10:27

Morning ladies

PnM so glad to hear the HSG wasn't too painful! Loving the "technical" language for a patent tube too though at how long til your official appointment! Really hope you get a cancellation but if not I think a private app is a good idea - I'd be out of my mind waiting that long!!

MrsH since it's the same GP who assured you it wasn't an EP, I'm guessing her response will be "don't worry, it's normal" or some other such medical gobbledegook . Perhaps it is your body settling down post-HSG? Though I'll continue to hope that it actually means you'll get a Christmas BFP

JollyBear only three sleeps now!! So exciting for you and sending you lots of good vibes

Ei hope you're doing well?

MOB hope the carol concert was fun? Have your DCs been in any christmas plays/concerts?

And thanks for your higs ladies - much appreciated! Last night, I ended up doing what any sensible frustrated ttc-er should do and went (completely unplanned) to the work christmas party. I've been saying for weeks that I wasn't going to go, but the spotting just tipped me into the "what the hell? I won't be able to just go out with my work buddies unplanned when we finally do get a baby" mode. I didn't go utterly mad (couple of glasses of wine and a couple of rum punches - postively restrained by my standards at last year's do ) but really enjoyed it. Even if I did look a holy show compared to all the glam ladies there (hadn't even put lippy on before going!!). We've got our departmental lunch today too - at a pizza place so looking forward to a nice carb-tastic lunch!!

The spotting is really annoying though - sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not - though, in an attempt to be positive, I think perhaps it is my luteal phase lengthening (or improving, as I think of it) as last month I also didn't start AF until quite late on 13dpo (but no so late that it didn't start on 13 dpo iykwim).

Anyway, I'm glad to have such a wonderful thread (and MN in general) to come and vent on (even with my Christmas resolution to relax about it all )

MrsHappy · 11/12/2008 20:02

Hello lovely ladies

First, enormous (((((higs))))) for Caitni and GRRRR to periods and boring old ttc. I'm sorry to see you feeling so blue and I hope you feel better soon.

A gold star to PnM for being very brave! I am glad your HSG was ok. If you had come back and said it was terribly painful I would have been both bothered that I had (accidentally) told you a lie and concerned that my cervix is giant and too capacious! Do not fret about the funny tube. As numerous medical people have told me "you only need one working tube". And it could be that your other tube was just having a spasm. Wait and see, but at least things are progressing.

Jollybear I am very excited at the prospect of being a cyber-auntie again. You're having a section, yes? Lots of luck for that, I hope it goes smoothly and you have a quick recovery.

How are you MOB? Any more genuine pregnancy symptoms (as opposed to my imaginary ones) to share with us?

Ei do you have any symptoms either? Have you had any more psychic ei dreams?

I am still cramping although the spotting has stopped. No idea what that is about. I keep googling "implantation spotting" for which I need a serious slap. From what I have seen it is just as likely to be a dodgy LP. When I had my DD I certainly did not spot although I had wicked cramps about 5 days before my period was due, so that is the same...

I may not be with you all much longer because tonight I ate bacon which was use by 1 December. Do you think I am going to die? Have I eaten the bacon of death? [hysterical emoticon].

Well, at least if I feel sick I can call it bacon poisoning instead of a symptom!

And LOL at the prospect of the GP being able to say anything useful about this spotting. When I had ectopic number 2 she decided to tap my tummy and when I didn't have any pain she said "it's very unlikely to be an ectopic". And I said "wow. That's amazingly inaccurate" and left. So tomorrow I can show her my scars!

Chin up ladies. It's nearly christmas.

PicknMix · 11/12/2008 18:27

Evening all,

Caitni my little south coast love, sorry to hear you think af is on its way and that you sound so incredibly about it all. Sending you very many higs. I've stopped temping this last few months as well as things were getting a little very obsessive for me. I really hope you're wrong about the spotting but if af arrives 2moro, with your very short cycles does that mean you might hav the possibility of a Christmas conceived baby?

I hope the dr can shed some light on the spotting tomorrow MrsH. Sounds very odd, especially as it hasn't happened before. As JB said, do you think it might have something to do with the hsg?

Lovely to 'see' you JB, can't believe its all so close for you (and Abby) now

How are you doing Ei ?

Have you got used to the idea of 2 little chicklets yet Mob ?

Thank you for all your kind wishes, the hsg wasn't really painful at all, no worse than a bad smear test so much worrying about nothing! Am bit crampy now though so dosing up on nurofen. One tube played ball and 'spilled' (technical term , their's not mine!) beautifully but the other one was inconclusive. Interestingly its the side I never get any ov pains on so I wonder if its just a duff tube?? Anyway, will have to wait for the radiologist to look at the pictures properly but wont get my results until 24th March so am going to try and get a cancellation appt - failing that we'll pay the £ and have a private consultation. Don't really want to be waiting for 4 months for a diagnosis as am playing it down at the moment but wont be long before I start googling and worrying myself!!
