hi ladies
just checking in as i am shamefully preoccupied with my new fave book series and cant seem to drag my eyes away from them for long enough to eat let alone switch the laptop on also DH has basically snuggled up to facebook exclusively for the past 5/6 days as my brother (his best friend) has now joined facebook and they have been engrossed in conversation all night
anyway enough from me and my dullities
hello to everyone and good luck to our testers
hi to the old friends and lovely to see you- you are the light at the end of our desperate tunnel
MOB i hope everything is ok xx my friend goes for her initial meeting to start ivf tomorrow night with a couple of other couples so she has been eager to hear of your progress
xx ei xx

Caitni · 06/01/2009 23:29

Hi Ladies

Bucky I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you on your tww - here's hoping clomid the wonder drug works for you

MrsH glad your egg turned up and here's hoping you caught it good and proper!

PnM hope the new job is going well. This is definitely a time of the law of pregnativity to kick in and get you your BFP!!

MOB hope things are good with you lady after last week xx

And big waves to Ei and all the other ladies I've not mentioned by name - hope everyone's well

So I'm definitely out now and onto cycle 17 as AF arrived today, though not with a bang but a whimper (TMI ALERT but it's quite a light flow - barely a need for a panty liner). Am glad I didn't waste any tests now!!

I'll call and book in my HSG tomorrow - it'll probably be next Thurs if they have appointments. I also got my appointment at the sub fertility unit for 2 Feb...unfortunately I'm going to have to cancel that as the big news chez caitni is that we've decided to move back to London! Much as I love Brighton, the roughly four hours a day commuting is killing my DH. He works much later hours than me usually so consistently getting home late and then up again before dawn is too much. So we're moving to Stroud Green/Finsbury Park on 24 Jan (it's a lovely garden flat, less than half an hour to work for each of us and close to lovely Crouch End and lots of friends!). Top of my list of things to do when we move is to find a GP and ask for a referral to a fertility consultant straight away...

Sorry for the ramble - I'm pretty that I'm out again this month so am trying to avoid MN a bit (am also v busy at work as the other two people in my dept are both out on paternity leave at the moment).

Hope everyone's well and not too freezing

MrsHappy · 06/01/2009 07:41

Oooh Caitni how exciting. Fingers crossed for you.

Picknmix that is an absolutely perfect application of the laws of pregnativity. It would be even better for purposes of sods the law if in changing jobs you had lost your rights to enhanced maternity leave, but none the less I look forward to hearing about a little jelly baby ASAP!

Busy now, BBL.

Caitni · 05/01/2009 23:18

evening ladies,

just a quick note from me - been busy. Though great to see so many ladies on here!

My spotting stopped a couple of days ago and still no sign of AF - I think I'm 13 dpo now. Up until last month, my luteal phase was always 12 days, but I was exactly the same last month with a 13 day luteal phase. Don't want to get my hopes up so have decided not to test unless no AF by Wednesday.

I'll check back in tomorrow and read everyone's messages properly.

Night night for now
xx

PicknMix · 05/01/2009 21:07

Evening ladies!

I remember you from the Waiting Room Twilight, you're the fabulous list maker aren't you?? Congrats on the arrival of Reese

Hiya DG! Sounds like Alfredo is doing fantastically! You sound totally loved up with him, am so pleased for you!

Glad to hear you think the egg turned up MrsH . Fingers crossed for you, no idea re alcohol and cm, sorry. Although am sure partaking in some virtual shampers won't effect it

Things are sounding good Bucky, am hoping clomid does its stuff for you this month!

How are you doing Caitni and Ei?! And Mob?

Hope the feeding routine is settling down now Mibbes?

I started my new job today (surely the laws of pregnativity state that new year + new job = bfp??!) am exhausted but in a good way. Head is spinning as have a lot to learn over the nxt week so prob off to bed now! On Cd36 now, no sign of egg, af, nothing, nada. Boobs normal, not bloated, no cm, no spots. Wierd, eh?

Take care everyone, apologies if I've missed anyone, totally unintentional! Xx

MrsHappy · 05/01/2009 20:44

Hello all

DG how nice to see you. I'm glad to hear everything is going well with little Alfredo and 50th centile is great. You must make good milk!

Bucky I have now decided not to drink again until Feb so you can keep the champagne for yourself... . It sounds like you hit the right time for schtupping so hopefully in what, about 8 days?, we'll have some nice news from you...

Twilightsurfer thanks for the babydust. And congratulations (a bit late) on your latest addition. God, why does it take so flipping long to get pregnant, though???

PnM, Caitni, Ei and Mob where the bleeding heck are you all?

Well I am officially 3 dpo although I am not convinced I really ovulated. It seems that alcohol dries up my CM. Is that possible? DH did his manly duty at the right times as ever so ... fingers crossed.

Hope you're all enjoying 2009 thus far.

TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2009 20:07

Bucky you remembered well. Took me 13 MONTHS to get that BFP then MCed at 9W6D. BUT CONCEIVED AGAIN just 17 days later. My little girl, Reese is 20 weeks old exactly today....well in 2 hours and 56 minutes she will be exactly 20 weeks. And wildly enough Reese is exactly 4 years and 6 months, to the day, younger than her big sister. BOTH baked for 268 days.

You've just got to keep trying!!

Here's some of my special baby dust.
Best wishes to you and every other lady on this thread.

Aw , its like a reunion, I feel all warm and gooey .

Twilight I hope my memory serves me correctly and I am not remembering something that never happened , wouldn't be the first time LOL!

DG Woohoo, how fab Alfredo is . Can you come out to play yet? Lunch is long overdue!

MrsH I saved you some shampers....its cool that you are all on FB too now. Ei and MOB where are you? You need to get Facebooking....

TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2009 19:41

WOW DG stopped by too. {{{waves to DG}}}

Bucky your symptoms sound spot on. I'll be watching out for good news in 10 days or more.

digitalgirl · 05/01/2009 09:56

Happy New Year!!

Hope all are well and you got down to some serious and not so serious baby-making over the holidays. I thought I'd pop in and give Bucky a great big virtual hug as I'd spotted she was back!

As a few people have already said, there are a lot of success stories with Clomid. DH's BF's wife was on a course of Clomid, she suffered with terrible PMS - cramping and moodswings - but I imagine it was all worth it as she's now 6 months PG. This was after 4 MCs (2 at 10 weeks, 2 CPs) and a load of tests that couldn't find any problems with either her or her DH.

MOB congratulations on your BFPs! Bet you can't wait to hit the 12 week point.

Hope the rest of you enjoyed xmas etc.

Quick update from the DG camp. Alfredo (now 18 wks or 4 mo) has been doing marvellously since the New Year. He had his first sleepover at my mum's for NYE and since we've been back we've started to let him self-settle when he wakes during the night. So far we've been going up to 6 hours between nightfeeds so am getting a lot more sleep than previously. He's putting on tonnes of weight and has scaled up from the 9th centile to the 50th all on breastfeeding. He's a lovely smiley baby and we love him lots. DGxx

Bucky2008 · 04/01/2009 11:28

Morning all....

MrsH Twilightsurfer was in the 'ttc waiting room' years ago when I first started posting on MN. On about her 13th cycle she got a BFP and then MC I think and then the very next month she got another BFP. She must have had that baby long ago and I am still here...how sad is THAT!!! Anywhere I saw her posting in antenatal so I popped in and said hi...

Nothing new here, CM was def different this month with the Clomid. I actually think there was way more . It seems to have gone now though so I think I ov. I'm not temping cos it makes me crazy, but I had the mittelschmerz thingy on CD12 and EWCM between there and CD15 and now it is going so I guess that was it. BD'd loads as we are both at home and bored witless LOL. So we will see yet again. 2ww now.

I'm back at work tomorrow too, I am half looking forward to it and half not as I am no really busy at the moment. Well I am actally but I am only resourced for 2 days a week so I am supposed to do 5 days work in 2 days in order to not overspend our fees. Anyway in short I will be stressed 2 days a week and bored for 3!

Well this is all about me...hope you are all good today. I'm glad to be shanging out with you again. x

Morning ladies

Well it is almost the end of my christmas break and back to work tomorrow...

I hope everyone is well.

PnM yay for haircuts. I used to go for pretty much an annual shearing too. There's no scope for half-measures when you only go once a year! Has your egg appeared yet? I think mine did a couple of days ago but since I have been getting up at random late times (and my temps are off) it is hard to tell. I just hope we caught it properly...

Twilightsurfer I have no idea who you are but any friend of Bucky's...

Ei what are you doing up so late Missus? I have to agree that 2009 is going to be fabulous

Waves to MOB, Caitni (did you book your HSG yet?), Bucky, our new mummies and all lurkers.

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 04/01/2009 04:20

xx ei xx

TwilightSurfer · 03/01/2009 20:51

Hi Bucky!! Figured jumping threads would be fun. Glad to hear from you. 2009 is your year!!!

PicknMix · 02/01/2009 20:33

Hellooooo

Happy New Year to you all!

Just a quick bit of slush to say thank you to you all for being such fab cyber friends during 2008. There's definitely been some ups and downs but I reckon I'd be completely toto by now without you guys!!

Heres to 2009!!

MrsH I think your egg is probably shanging out with mine... I'm currently on CD33 with no sign of ov... The spotting has stopped now though. Do we think I should count that as af???? It really wasn't af though so maybe I should just keep counting . New year, new hair eh? Me too!! Just had all mine cut off today, had about 6 inches cut off but its still really long (I have an aversion to hairdressers so only get it cut about once a year - I would just like to point out I don't think I look like a scraggy haired being though )

I'm really sorry to hear you've had such a rough time of it MOB but really really pleased to hear your saw two wriggly chicklets and heard both their heartbeats. What an emotional rollercoaster for you and your family. Big higs, please look after yourself xx

How gorgeous is your little Evan, Mibbes?! Thanks for posting those pics!!

I'm in agreement with the others Bucky re NYE's - surely tis a time for staying up a bit late?! Have many memories of being prodded awake from dozing in a chair at some relatives house to hear the clocks chime midnight when I was young . We went to a friends house for dinner and ended up playing Guiter Heros on Tour until about 2 in the morning - turns out I can rock out with the best of them on the drum kit .

I'm sorry to hear about the spotting Caitni , although as MrsH says, looking on the brighter side at least this means you can book your hsg now and get a bit of a tubal MOT

Congrats to Hatty and welcome to the world baby Ursula! All the best people are born on Boxing Day - although I spent the first 18 years of my life celebrating my birthday on the 26th June just to give a bit of a break between Christmas and my birthday. Am too old for that now so have reverted back to December but I have some fabulous friends who always always make the effort to separate Christmas and birthday for me!

How are you doing Ei? Hope you had a lovely Christmas?

Enough waffle for one night, love to you all xx

MrsHappy · 02/01/2009 08:37

Arg! optimism utterly misplaced. My egg is missing! Has anyone seen it???

MrsHappy · 01/01/2009 21:15

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Far from NY being the usual anti-climax this time I am feeling optimistic and hoping for a fabulous 2009 with babies for us all.

MOB what a shocker you have had! I am glad to hear that the beans are ok. I'm sure I read that if you see heartbeats after about 8 weeks your chances of everything being fine are massive. Just take it easy (easier said than done, I know).

Mibbes Evan is lovely and you look like you are enjoying your first christmas as a mummy. Lovely photos, thanks for posting them.

Bucky that NYE does sound a bit of a let-down. Not that I am one to talk, my DH and I retired to bed at 11pm!! (But then we did take some champagne with us so all was not lost...). And I agree - they should just have kept the kids up or put them to sleep in your bed until it was time to go home. The real problem with staying out with kids though is that most of them (unlike my DD who loves a lie-in!) relentlessly get up at some ungodly hour without regard for their poor parents' hangovers!

Caitni Grrrrr to the spotting, but at least you can get the HSG booked now. and maybe that will do its tube-clearing magic for you!

PnM and Ei I hope you are both enjoying 2009 so far!

Well not a lot to report here. NYE was unexciting. I think I have ovulated today but can't be sure until I see that temp rise. I am really hoping that the new year will bring with it my (viable) BFP and save me from the nasty operation!

Hi to anyone I've missed.

Ooh, and congratulations to Hatty. Well done on the VBAC! If I ever conceive I hope not to use the sunroof this time so you will have to tell me all about it.

Caitni · 01/01/2009 11:27

Happy new year ladies! Here's to an excellent 2009!

MOB massive to you having such a stressful time. But I'm relieved the scan showed two heartbeats and jiggy little beans. Take it easy - get those feet up lady! I'm sure Mr MOB (and your DC) will be more than happy to make sure you get to relax and take it easier.

Mibbes aaah he is such a gorgeous little fella! Looks like the three of you had a great time xxx

Bucky I agree that NYE is a time for kids to say up late. I'd loved that as a kid, though admittedly as a result I have lots of hazy memories of parents/uncles/aunts linking arms and singing auld lang syne badly lol. And fingers crossed for you on your tww - here's hoping Clomid works for you

MrsH so glad your DD got to see skating ducks too - v cute they were! And your hair sounds fabulous - just what you need for a brand new year! I got a good four inches lobbed off mine - hovering at shoulder length now. I love having it blowed dried straight, so it still looks fabulous, but I know when I have to wash it it'll be back to my usual frizzy self [sigh].

PnM & Ei hope you had lovely times seeing in the new year

So blardy spotting started yesterday, so looks like it's another cycle down the drain for me. Cycle 17 here I come [sigh]. Couldn't get too down about it as my sister (who's 13 weeks now), BIL and nephew arrived yesterday a.m. - we had great fun out on Brighton pier and just tooling around. And my brother, SIL and two nieces and one nephew arrive in less than an hour so shall be lots more fun and hecticness (in a good way). I'm saving up my down in the dumps-ness for Sat/Sun when all our guests depart and AF is officially due...but at least I can book in my HSG [attempt to look on the bright side emoticon].

Anyway, sending lots of positive vibes to everyone one - 2009 will be a great, prosperous, healthy and baby filled year for us all

Bucky2008 · 01/01/2009 09:28

Aw Mibbes he is BEAUTIFUL!!! And so are you incidentally .

MOB, sorry you are having such a traumatic time but I am really glad that it seems to have sorted itself out.

PicknMix Hope you are having a good break and your spotting has stopped so you can relax.

MrsHappy Looking forward to our drinks in the New Year. Hope Mamma Mia and the chocs were good. I have Mamma Mia here on DVD but I haven't watched it, I didn't know if it would be any good .

Caitni I know you had a good New Year...How I wish I was in Cork. Best New Year I ever had!!! .

We had friends round for NYE but it was a bit lame-o as they had kids (7yrs to 11yrs) that 'needed to go to bed' so they all went home by about 11pm. Nothing for it, DP and I just drank all the champagne ourselves and rolled into bed at 1am! Is is me or is NYE an exception where you get to stay up late when you are a kid? . Jeez if I ever have kids they will probably have an ASBO before they are 7 hee hee.

Hello ladies, just popping in to wish you a very happy and fat 2009 - I really hope this years brings you all the babies you want so much.

Bucky great news that you are back and on clomid (I know several people who have success with it). Wishing you all the best hun xx

and just before I nip off to pour my 1 glass of champers... hatty had a wee girl called Ursula on boxing day . She managed a VBAC and is home with her 3 girls now .

Madoldbird · 31/12/2008 15:08

Hello everyone

Glad it sounds as though you have all had good Christmases.

PnM How is the spotting now? From what MrsH has said, it could well be as a result of the HSG, although do get yourself to the GP if it continues.

MrsH The new hair sounds very glam! Definitely will lead to a BFP

Bucky Glad you have got started on the clomid, although the cramps sound nasty. It could well be because it is stimulating more than one follicle. So pleased to hear JG is ok. When i started on the IVF, i went on the pill for approx 2 weeks, then had a short bleed, then started the stimming injections. The pill ensures that the reproductive system is "switched off", so that all the follicles start from scratch together. Please give her my best wishes, and tell her i am more than happy for her to contact me and ask questions.

Caitni Have a lovely time with your sister and family. I loved the picture of the ducks skating on the ice!

EI Hope you had a lovely Christmas and that things are ok with you.

MTW Mibbes JB Hope you have had lovely Christmases with your new babies. Any news on hatty yet?

We had a good, if busy Christmas. We've just had a couple of traumatic days though. In the early hours of yesterday morning I started to bleed. We went straight to the hospital, and they initially thought i was losing one or both babies, but they gave me a thorough examination, and my cervix appeared to be closed. The bleeding more or less stopped after i got there, so they booked me in for a scan a few hours later. DH & i were nervous wrecks waiting for the scan, but both babies are fine. We saw 2 heartbeats, and they were both moving around well. (One was literally dancing). We then saw the dr who said that the cause of the bleeding was a mystery, but was a warning sign for me to really slow down and take it easy. It's been a really horrible day or so, but fortunately the babies seem fine. The bleeding has stopped, apart from a tiny bit of brownish discharge which i assume is just old blood from the bleed making it's way out. I'm 10+5, so i'm counting the days to 12 weeks, when, hopefully, the chances of anything going wrong are reduced.
Consequently we have had to cancel our New Year plans, as i have to stay in and rest! (Well worth it though, just to try and do everything i can to ensure the pregnancy continues)

I hope you all have a lovely time tonight, what ever you are doing, and may i wish you all a (slightly early) Happy 2009!!

MrsHappy · 30/12/2008 21:37

Good evening all

Caitni the ducks are skating here too, much to my DD's amusement. What are you going to do to your hair? I only went in for a little trim, but 5 minutes into the hair washing had an epiphany and demanded more like 7 inches be severed! It is just below my chin at the front and shorter at the back. Having conferred at length with my hairdresser I can confirm that it is not - emphatically NOT - a POB!!

Bucky I would put a pic on Facebook, but I am looking truly vile and spotty so you will have to wait until we get together for Jan drinks (or tonic water, if the clomid does its thing). I'v heard that cramps can be a clomid side effect (and not a sign of something terrible), but just call your Dr if they don't subside. FWIW, I get cramps, sometimes pretty severe, when I ovulate so maybe your follicles are just nice and big and that is what you are feeling? Lovely to hear Judith is well. Give her my best. I seem to recall that MOB did a cycle on the pill too - to make her follicles all the same size - but you are right; the IVF thing seems very quick once it gets going.

Right, hello to the rest of you. I hope you're having a lovely break and still feeling festive. I have a date with Hotel Chocolate pink champagne truffles, red wine and Mamma Mia...

Caitni · 30/12/2008 11:50

Hi ladies,

MrsH new hair - yay!! You'll look so good when you do get your BFP . I'm off to the hairdressers tomorrow as my hair is a holy show, there's no way I can face a new year looking so scraggly

Bucky about the cramps - could it be because more than one egg is being released? Reckon it's wise to stay away from dr google though, as that way doth madness lie! Also so glad to hear that GG is doing well! My memory's hazy but I do think that MOB had to take the pill before the stimulation & egg collection - think that's the downregging bit. Am sure she'll fill us in soon PS enjoy celebrating your DP's birthday!

PnM sorry to hear the spotting's still going on. Sounds like it may be to do with the HSG so may be worth giving the unit a call just to be sure.

Ei & MOB - hope you're having a lovely Xmas/New Year break

Things quite boring here - I've been in the office yesterday and today and it's comedy quiet. Just waiting to skulk off at a reasonably respectable time really. But just had a nice long elevenses with some colleagues so it's not too bad! And am "working from home" tomorrow and taking Friday off, so yet another short week for me! Had a great Christmas - very relaxed and enjoyable (with a lot of the wire - we're both now addicted to the wire). My sister and her husband and son are arriving from Dublin tomorrow morning for New Year's so looking forward to that too!

And it's still so freakin' cold - the regents canal outside our office is still half frozen - all the ducks and seagulls are skating across the ice!

Bucky2008 · 30/12/2008 08:55

Oh I didn't mention... I met up with GG for Xmas drinks. She is well and is gearing up for her ICSI next cycle. I told her to come back so that she could compare notes with MOB although it sounds a bit different what she has to do as she has to take pills for a month before the actual cycle that the egg collection occurs. Maybe I missed that with MOB but it seemed quite quick on the Chicklet cycle.
