VJay, when I was waiting last month out I decided to tackle all the jobs around the house that would involve physical effort (the sort of effort that you wouldn't want to make when pg!) So I cleaned out the cupboards and finally put stuff in the loft, we did the wall painting we've been putting off for years, etc. You could also treat this as a 'getting fit' month - in the early stages of pg you probably won't want to do much exercise. And being fit is supposed to boost fertility anyway.

VJay · 23/11/2008 21:27

5/6, it's taken us this long to try for no. 2, I'd be 90 by the time I got to 5.
Any ides on this long month of waiting?

LuckySalem · 23/11/2008 20:54

LOL - DP keeps saying are you sure you want another when DD acts up! lol
I've always said I wanted at least 2 - I'd love to be able to afford a house that will accomodate 5/6

VJay · 23/11/2008 20:53

hi lucky, my ds is 6 now so we will have a whopping age gap, just as we begin to get solvent, we start agian

LuckySalem · 23/11/2008 20:51

Can I join in this thread?

We're not definatly TTCing but DD will be one and we want a nice close age gap so hopefully money wont be so tight that we can't afford it.

VJay · 23/11/2008 20:48

How are you all going to get through this last month of waiting before starting to ttc? Any ideas would be good, as I soooo want to be trying now, but have to wait!

louisesh · 23/11/2008 19:23

Mmmm.... Would spend soo long working out Deanna plan would br too knackered to BD!!!!

HA HA

VillageMum · 23/11/2008 12:01

VJay, you could always not 'try' and just see what happens anyway...

louisesh, yes, the DP is definitely not for the fainthearted!

VJay · 23/11/2008 09:08

hi vm, no I don't have any medical reason, to my knowledge, not to try, just the wanting to have a relaxing Christmas .

louisesh · 22/11/2008 18:21

HI VILLAGEMUM Had a look at the DEANNA plan looks complicated!!!! Think i might just leave nature to take its course, of course with plenty of BD help!!!!

VillageMum · 22/11/2008 17:52

Hi VJay, see how you feel when you get to the middle of the month - if it's too hard (and if you don't have a pressing medical reason for not ttc straight away - sorry, I can't remember if you did? can you remind me?) then just follow your instincts, I'd say... in my case the fear and just feeling physically run down told me very clearly to wait a bit, but you might feel differently!

nomoremagnolia, I think you should be optimistic - all the anecdotal evidence suggests that we are very fertile after a mc, even if you're someone who has been trying to get pg for years and years before that... It's as if the body has been kickstarted once you've had a pg. You can certainly do it again!

Hi sabs, thumbwitch, louisesh, sausage, endless and anyone I've missed!

By the way, ladies, talking about BDing to order, have you all heard of the Deanna Plan? Here it is for those who are very, very serious about getting pg (and have a totally biddable dh/dp!)

Sperm Meets Egg Plan

thumbwitch · 22/11/2008 00:13

me I think - DH is very keen to crack on with no. 2 so we have sort of started already but not with any seriousness - I think he will get serious next month! (he is worried about my advanced age and also wants to have the 2nd quite close to DS, who is now almost 1yo )

EndlessNameless · 22/11/2008 00:08

Intrigued by the posts about using DH/P.

Both of you want the baby so you both do your bit, with the added advantage to him that he gets lots and lots of sex!

Obviously if you are demanding that he stops whatever he is doing at any time of the day to get in a quick session that he has a right to get a little annoyed

IMVHO I think it's possibly more about managing how we initiate sex, i.e. attitute, tone of voice, being impatient then limiting the amount.

louisesh · 21/11/2008 22:21

I m the same as you SAUSAGEMCGRAH just BD' ing at any time and hoping for the best!!! Hoping to convince DH to have a "normal" sexlife again!!!! Hi NOMOREMAGNOLIA i think what you re feeling is the same as me.

I had a MMC and medical management of the same 5 weeks ago just getting through first AF and feel like you we ve done it once before {concieved that is!!!} and so can do it again keep thinking it may be soon as you hear all these tales of pregnancy very quickly after a miscarriage but on the other hand still leading my life as fully as possible soo as not to put too much pressure on us. SABS1981 have a good weekend enjoy your BD

Sabs1981 · 21/11/2008 21:57

Vjay I'm hoping AF visits me next week. I'm also going to to wait for the next cycle, so we'll be ttc around the same time. I know EXACTLY how you feel about how hard all the waiting with.

I know its so silly, but for the past couple of days, I keep on thinking that maybe i'm pregnant. I know I cant be (because we've been using protection) but i'm having these symptoms I had when I was pg before, like tiredness, heightened sense of smell, etc. I'm putting it down to my period being due and not anything else. But i'm doing all I can not to use a pregnancy test.

nomoremagnolia welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about your mc. But good luck for next time and i'm wishing it wont take 3 years for your next BFP

missiemoomummy welcome to the thread too {smile]

sausagemcgrah its not a long boring post! You should see some of the posts I write! Any plans for the weekend (apart from BD! )

shagzilla, lol i like it!

OP posts:
sausagemcgrah · 21/11/2008 21:41

missiemoosmummy - it means missed miscarriage.

nomoremagnolia, it's not weird at all. It's so important to be optimistic and have hope - you're halfway there and you're right - you know you can do it! I hope it works out for you next time.

I am definitely shagzilla! Poor, poor DH! The romance has definitley gone for this month! I am on day 20 post period too, so you'd think the poor guy should be getting a break now, only it's my first period post MMC so I don't know how long my cycle is going to be. Therefore we are still BD'ing like mad just in case cycle is 34 days or something. Phew! I am rubbish at knowing when I've ov'd though. It was probably way back when we didn't do it so much!

Sorry for a long and boring post.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

MissieMoosMummy · 21/11/2008 20:24

Can I ask a silly question: what is a mmc?

nomoremagnolia · 21/11/2008 19:58

Hi all - I'll probably not be ttc again til the new year - am awaiting AF after natural m/c of EP. I see a lot of you are/will be ttc post m/c so do you mind if I ask you something? I am feeling desperate to fall pg again but I'm worried I'm setting myself up for a huge fall if I'm not. We've been ttc for 3yrs so I'm being extremely optimstic thinking this, but now I know we can do it I have new hope. Is that totally weird? I know it's heart over head at the moment as my head says it took 3yrs to get here but my heart says if we can do it once then we can do it again.

louisesh · 21/11/2008 19:38

Hi All we re all in the same boat aren t we? Hi SABS1981 hope you re ok.

Hope you re plans for BD progressing ok!!! LOL Is the equivalent name "shagzilla"? HA HA

VJay · 21/11/2008 18:49

Hi vm my af arrived yesterday too, but I think we'll hold out for another cycle. It will be hard, I'm ready and wanting to start trying now.

VillageMum · 21/11/2008 11:51

EndlessNameles, 'major excitement 'n fear' could be my new nickname...

sabs, thanks! Hope it's the last AF for 9 months too! (though see above - excitement AND fear!)

sausage, it was very, very hard for us to wait that cycle out, to be honest. In fact the inner tension was quite unbearable round the middle of the month. But I knew I had to do it to get my head and body back together and it's worked to that extent. Just do what feels right for you - some people don't wait, and I can appreciate why!

Good luck everyone! ((waves)) x

Sabs1981 · 20/11/2008 22:40

EndlessNameless welcome!

Yes,the alternating feelings sound very familiar

I'm still trying to find ways to make DH think im not using him, but no1 seems to be forthcoming with any advice

OP posts:
EndlessNameless · 20/11/2008 22:31

Planning on starting to ttc for our first in the new year DH agreed last week totally out of the blue

Not sure if we're going straight into it in Jan as work is going to be totally manic so don't think they'll be much time for boinking

Anyone else alternating between major excitement and fear on a daily basis?

Sabs1981 · 20/11/2008 22:17

VM yay for AF!! hopefully it is the last one you see for 9 months

PurpleCrazyHorse Welcome to MN and to this thread. Hope you're time on here is positive...the ladies on here are all lovely!

sending lots of hugs to louisesh and sausagemcgrah know what you mean about trying to relax SM

Is there a ttc equivalent word to bridezilla? Because that's what I think I will become
