Hello to everyone new who's joined this thread
Is anyone using an ovulation kit? I was thinking of buying one from Boots but am I right in thinking its £20 just for one kit that lasts one month???

Dont know if I want to bother or not, have always caught easily before but worried that this time because I really want to be pg straight away it wont happen, although tbh am not thinking about it that much!

Agree about the August baby thing, one of dd's friends is an august baby and she has always been the brightest girl in dd's class and is now in top sets for everything at high school, so I guess its individual

DP has said that he will not not along with the whole 'timed shagging to order' (his words) and that if I want to do that I must keep it to myself and pretend that I am just horny at the 'right time'.

I have to say that I agree with him, unless we get past 6 months of TTC there will be no ovulation tests etc in this house

LavenderTea · 12/11/2008 18:26

Think I will join you both with the indiscrimiate shagging ( of my DH of course) He might prefer that to "I'm ovulating. Get in the bedroom and shag me. "

VerifiedLU4097 · 12/11/2008 16:29

bratnav, you're my kindred spirit!! I too am going to go for the indiscriminate shagging (with DH only of course).....What a good idea!

bratnav · 12/11/2008 14:49

yep, next week would be an august baby.

I have no idea where my cycle is so I have come up with a cunning plan to combat this, shag indiscriminately, DP seems to approve of it anyway

LavenderTea · 12/11/2008 14:33

Hello to MG midget , Missy Moos and verified...

So much been going on in here while I was away...

Well I have finally got my 28 day cycle back this month, so fingers crossed it will be regular from now on...
On CD 6 so far.... Effectively means I could be ttc next week....

Would that make for a August baby though...??

Oh well who says we get to chose really...Not I ....

LavenderTea · 12/11/2008 14:25

Oh i always do this....I don't look to check how many pages there are after page 1 and end up replying to posts two weeks earlier....

Doh

Sorry ladies, and sorry Bratnav...

Trixielix Hellooo to you

LavenderTea · 12/11/2008 14:23

Hello been a while....

VickyJane..... Welcome...Sorry about your two m/c's so sad. I have been there too, so I do understand.
Do you have any other children??

Bratnav..Oh my!! There is a surprise.. Have you been trying to get onto the Babies in August 2009 thread...

As for symptoms other than AF type ones, how about getting up in the night to wee. That always starts for me by the end of week 1..and I also get a metallic taste in my mouth pretty early and go off coffee..
Any of those ??

bratnav · 12/11/2008 13:57

Is anyone doing anything specific to help the TTC along? Other than having lots of sex of course

VerifiedLU4097 · 11/11/2008 16:01

I too am singing little donkey in my head, and imagining a put upon donkey trailing along to Bethlehem!!!

bratnav · 11/11/2008 15:11

Verified, welcome, you sound a lot more organised than I am!

I now have 'Little Donkey' going round my head

bratnav · 11/11/2008 15:10

I was an August baby and managed ok, I think it really is up to the personality of the individual

VerifiedLU4097 · 11/11/2008 14:20

I'd like to join please! I'm TTC 1, day 4 on cycle 4- thought I had my cycles licked at 31 days, last cycle deliberately threw me at 26 days, with LH surge of 16 days?!? As its all out of whack, and I'm not seeing enough of DH properly until december, there'd be shepards and wise men lingering if I fell this month!!!

MGM- my sister is an august baby and is doing very well. Its all relative!

MGMidget · 11/11/2008 13:58

Am trying to conceive and realised that we should be holding off this month as we will end up with an August baby. Having read lots of articles about how August babies are disadvantaged at school I think we should wait. However, had lots of sex this month already (should have thought about it sooner!) and ovulation predictor says I'm due to ovulate in the next two days so I might get pregnant even if we stop now! My first baby was a September baby - I thought it was a nice month to have a baby (not too hot or cold) so would certainly like the next one in September and they would be exactly two years apart.

bratnav · 11/11/2008 11:01

welcome Missie, were you someone who has lived in Taunton, not sure why I think that?

Oooh fingers crossed Trixie

MissieMoosMummy · 11/11/2008 01:20

TrixieVix, I've got my fingers crossed for you!

MissieMoosMummy · 11/11/2008 01:16

Hello ladies!

Can I join in? Pretty please
I'm going to ttc #2. I've got a little bit of pressure to perform here because all my family's birthdays & anniversaries are in September so far, and I wouldn't like the little mite to be the odd one out if it can be helped.

We were only 'sort of' trying with DD and I conceived in the first month (didn't realize I was pg until Feb the penny finally dropped after my New Year hangover lingered, seemed to turn into flu and finally started to make my food taste funny). I'm really hoping I'm this lucky again as I am crap with suspense!

TrixieVix · 10/11/2008 22:55

Whoops - not abandonded you!! Been at work....

Still no AF, but not tested as yet...

bratnav · 10/11/2008 16:39

thanks, will join up soon

We are starting to TTC now, just to give ourselves a 'run up' before the main event I cannot have a new baby to deal with at the end of the summer hols, I wouldn't leave the hospital for weeks

mosschops30 · 10/11/2008 16:20

try again

mosschops30 · 10/11/2008 16:20

Because if AF arrives at the beginning of December then baby will be due beginning of Sept, so if I go early will be born in August which would be just my luck

Will do mosschops, can you throw me a link?

Trixie-are you abandoning us???? Good for you if you are

Why would it be too early if you don't mind me asking moss?

DP is loving this, he is practically skipping into work!

mosschops30 · 09/11/2008 15:29

bratnav come and join the no smoking thread

trixie have you done a test? You know you will be banished from the thread if you are

I got AF on Friday which i guess means that we'll be trying in jabuary now as this time in december will be too early, bit disappointed but at least it should be my 3rd cycle so I should know where I am. Feels weird being a woman again after having the mirena for 3.5 years and no AF

TrixieVix · 09/11/2008 09:21

Quick update.....I'm 4 days late

bratnav · 06/11/2008 20:53

Sorry, my fault

Need to stop smoking patches at weekend I think
