Recently celebrated the big 40!!.. DS nearly 3 so another reason is don't want too big a gap.

mrsdisorganised · 25/11/2008 11:16

Hi, good luck bratnav! I think 5 would be great but we'll have to see how it goes had an early mc at the end of the summer and it put me off for a while, but we're decided and back on track!

bratnav · 25/11/2008 11:12

fantastic Mrs, welcome, what on earth is wrong with No5???? This will be DC4 for us including DSD who lives with us week on/week off, It will be great, I would love 5!

rosycheeks, how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

iloverosycheeks · 25/11/2008 11:08

Thanks Bratnav - I was thinking of getting an ov test, will do a search now - I really can't be bothered with all the taking temps and charts and stuff but I guess being older this time it might be harder for me to conceive, anyway fingers crossed for everyone over the party season!

mrsdisorganised · 25/11/2008 11:06

Hello! Can I join too?! We're going to ttc this month and I don't feel I can share this it home, I have 4 and I can't be bothered with all the negativity! But feel a bit alone so I thought I'd join you guys! Good luck

bratnav · 25/11/2008 11:03

Hi rosycheeks, I have never TTC before either really, it is a bit nervewracking!

Welcome and lots of luck to you, have you thought about ov tests? I think you can get them cheaply on t'interweb if you want to go down that route?

iloverosycheeks · 25/11/2008 10:53

Hello Ladies - can I join in? Started properly TTC this month, I am not fussed when due date is just want it asap as getting on a bit! I thought we had hit first time as AF was 5 days late, did 2 tests both negative- bit like you Trixie - but came on Sat so that has made cycle 33 days so dunno if that what I use to calc ov for next month - DS was a happy accident so have never tried to TTC before!

bratnav · 25/11/2008 10:34

Hi Devilsadvocaat and gateau and welcome.

Not sure about ovulation signs, didn't know we got any

Devils-I fell PG on 27th December and DD2 arrived a week early on 13th September. (in-laws and other family staying either side of that night) just in case you were wondering how I knew the exact date!

Gateau · 25/11/2008 10:09

Hi all,
I had medical management for a missed m/c 3.5 weeks ago and we have been TTC again for over a week now.
Haven't had AF yet, but we're just going for it anyway.
Also I'm not sure if I have ovulated yet or not as I haven't seen any signs, eg EWCM. There is no point in me using any ov tests yet as my hormones are probably all over the place.
Is it possible to ovulate without having any signs? I have noticed EWCM in previous cycles. (asked this q on another htread but no answers yet and I'm desperate to now!)

DevilsAdvocaat · 25/11/2008 10:05

hello everyone, can i join?
dh and i will start trying after christmas.
last time i fell pg straight away so i guess that may mean a sept baby? or october?
i am useless at pg maths

bratnav · 25/11/2008 09:59

Very positive, DP left for France for work at 4.30 this morning until Friday but we had a lovely 'goodbye' before he left and a good giggle afterwards about me pretending to cycle with legs in the air!

Why am I telling you this? Why why why?

The great thing for me this month is that having just come off the pill I have no idea when AF is due, so I can't go getting all panicky about it even if I try!

Trixie, how late are you now? That must be well over a week by now, but if you have just moved it could just be stress/excitement I guess. Are you having fun in your new home?

TrixieVix · 25/11/2008 09:23

Hi all - getting v. confused now....still no AF, but negative pg test.

Have got lots on at the moment (recently moved house) so am wondering if that's why it's delayed?

Is everyone still feeling positive??

Cheers Bratnav,

I am definitely not known for my patience and am already getting a bit carried away. Hopefully your chilled out attitude will rub off on me or I may drive DP (and myself) mad!

bratnav · 24/11/2008 11:26

But all we can be is optimistic cantwait! Welcome, I think as we are all just starting to TTC we are all really chilled on here, I can't imagine what we will be like in a couple of months without a BFP

inzi, of course, always room for more

Thanks ilike, and congratulations on your lo

cantwaitforxmas · 24/11/2008 11:20

Hi all,

can I join you? We will be TTC DC1 in December. A September baby is probably very optimistic but hey you never know. I am VERY excited but a bit nervous too.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/11/2008 11:00

Hi there. I'm from the Sept 08 ante-natal thread and wanted to wish all of you ladies Good Luck

I conceived ds2 on December 13th (my birthday ) and had him on 08 Sept(2 days after his dd)

DP is off to France tomorrow for 3 days for work

VerifiedLU4097 · 24/11/2008 09:28

Bad cough and TTC don't go together, esp when coughing fit coincides with post coital relaxation- my body is not interested in conceiving ARGHHH!!! DH only here at weekends too- getting fed up. December should be better what with Xmas hols and all.

MissieMoosMummy · 22/11/2008 23:13

Never mind bratnav. Or was he green with envy that he wouldn't get to lounge around in his own personal hot tub for 10 hours, whilst a bevy of women offered him praise, backrubs and cool refreshing drinks?

bratnav · 22/11/2008 19:20

Mentioned the idea to DP, he looked like this for about half an hour

MissieMoosMummy · 21/11/2008 15:06

I would love to try a home birth this time, since my previous hospital birth was very straightforward. Of course I think it was trouble free in hindsight - at the time I thought I was having the worst, most excrutiating and miserably painful time, moreso than any woman in the history of childbirth . The reality is that I had a shot of pethidine and pushed out, a perfect, healthy 5lb 8oz child with no worse to show for the experience than a teeny tiny tear.

So I'd like to try it again without the theatrics, which I might manage by being relaxed at home. Unfortunately, I live in a tiny, overstuffed flat with no room to swing a cat, let alone a midwife and birth pool (sighs). We're probably moving to a new town next year & will get some place bigger, but if my conception plans work, I'm not keen on changing my ante-natal care half way through pregnancy or taking on the hassle of house hunting when I've constantly got my face in a loo.

bratnav · 18/11/2008 10:29

snort at 'fanny about with my downstairs'

TrixieVix · 18/11/2008 09:59

Hello all - I'm still here!!

I really fancy the idea of a home birth - DS was born in hospital, but was 12 hours from start to finish - no induction, no intervention - 9lbs 3oz and no stiches dunno what that says about me!!

So, I do fancy the idea of an HB, but DH is wary. We've moved house since we had DS and now live a further 15 mins from the hospital and he says it's just too far in case anything were to go wrong...like you, I like the idea of having baby, having a birthing pool in the en-suite, pop the baby out, then have a wonderful shower and get into bed for cuddles all round! Am going to research once I'm pg and convince DH

And another reason I'm in favour of an HB - DH's psycho ex works as a midwife at our local hospital - not sure I fancy her fannying about with my downstairs
