Hi Ruby and upsy, nice to have you along!

I am trying for DC3/4 depending if you count DSD whom we have joint care of! DDs are 4, 5 and 6.

upsyandiggle · 27/11/2008 14:31

hi all, can i join. TTC DC2, would love a september baby.

Ruby01 · 27/11/2008 10:04

Thanks Trixie - how late are you now? I used to have a very regular 26-27 day cycle but since the summer its been all over the place was over a week later than usual last month and a day late this month - also have had a couple of very hectic busy months. Try not to think about it too much (much easier said than done I know) get on with all of the lovely events you have coming up and then if still not there test again not test is 100% accrate.

Bratnav - agree with Trixie

TrixieVix · 27/11/2008 09:57

Hi Ruby - sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy. We're all feeling positive on this thread (at least we were last time I checked!!) so welcome to the 'gang'!!

Still no AF here which is v. confusing?! Am getting the usual aches though, so think it might be on its way...watch this space.

I have got a lot on at the moment - just taken on a more senior role at work (which I've been patiently waiting for for ages!!)and got DS's 2nd birthday and party to be organised at the weekend, 1st wedding anniversary (yes, we did it the wrong way round!!) and Christmas obviously, so am wondering if this, combined with the housemove is why I'm late. We shall see

How is everyone today?

Sorry Bratnav - no idea what that is?! I did used to get similar when I'd forgotten to take a pill before though, so maybe your body adjusting?

Ruby01 · 27/11/2008 09:51

sorry nearly same message twice couldnt see that it had been attached lol

Hello All, trying for a baby hopefully in September but really also wanted one in August July and June and will be happy with one in October or Novemeber.

I suffered an eptopic in july and luckily only needed the metathrexate injection, fell pregnant the very first time I tried and after having to wait 3 months before trying again am surprised not to have fallen right away again( silly I know).

I was a day late and so took a pregnancy test this morning which was negative and then started my period half an hour later!

Anyway am willing myself not to become to stressed or obsessed - can you tell that is going to be a loosing battle- but am 37 and have spent far too much time on the internet to not worry.

Looking forward to trying again this month and look forward to getting to know you all

Ruby01 · 27/11/2008 09:23

Hello All - I am currently ttc for my 1st child, I suffered an eptopic pregnancy in july - my first pregnancy- and luckily got away with only having the metathrexate (is that how you spell it!) injection. I was advised to wait 3 months before ttc again and I actually wanted an August baby. My AF was late (please someone confirm that AF means period otherwise I have no idea what I have written)so this morning took a test which read negative- half an hour later I started AF. So all those weird sesations were nothing more than usual pains

I am just 37 a little nervous and willing myself not to become to obsessed about falling pregnant but I fell pregnant the first time I tried before and am surprised I didnt fall right away this time (silly I know). Anyway fingers crossed for next month and I hope we all have good news to share in the new year.

p.s have only ever written on a thread once before and am unsure of abbreviation etiquette

bubblebell1 · 27/11/2008 08:38

devil

i have 2 ds's aged 7 and 21 months.

you?

bubblebell1 · 27/11/2008 08:37

Hi girls!

Brat i assume the lil bleed was the 1 that happens between packets but i too am a novice. I finished my pill on the 25th oct and i still havnt had a period yet. I think i missed when i ovulated so dont think im pregnant now. just have a mixed up cycle from the pill. strangely im wishing af was here!!! dont think i will be doing that in the next few months

Devil It depends on your cycle length when you ovulate. so i asumed i would ovulate day 14 to 16 but as i have longer cycles i ovulated day 18 and missed my slot for this month

i bought some ovulation test sticks from ebay for £3 so i am going to try using those this month.

are you all actively trying now?

DevilsAdvocaat · 27/11/2008 08:29

also, do you lot already have kids?
if so how many? how old?

DevilsAdvocaat · 27/11/2008 08:27

hello everyone,

thanks for your reply bratnav

my af usually starts on the 10th so does that mean i am ovulating around the 24th?

never done this cycle counting before.

if we conceived the first cycle then the baby would be due mid october.

omg it's weird thinking about it!

i've already had names going around my head for the last few days

bratnav · 26/11/2008 22:05

OK, judging by my posts on this thread I stopped taking the pill around 31st/1st and had a tiny bleed that only lasted 1 day, so what is that?

bratnav · 26/11/2008 22:00

Hi bubblebell!

I was trying to work out when my AF is due, based on when I finished taking my pill, but I have no clue, I think it should be this week???

bubblebell1 · 26/11/2008 12:37

bubblebell1 · 26/11/2008 08:33

Hi to all - have decided it must be the stress of the house move...although never been the most regular of people, so maybe this is just my cycle? Am going to carry on regardless - what's the worst that can happen? I just won't be AS sure of my dates, but got a bit excited about the Clearblue digital pg tests that estimate your dates, so all's not lost eh?

So pleased we're getting more on the thread now - we're getting nearer aren't we?

Even been looking at maternity clothes on the internet today - have kept the nice stuff from last time, but not much and didn't really spend a huge amount on things last time (DS wasn't planned, so struggled financially a little bit and cut back where I could) so am determined to have some nice stuff that I feel glam in etc.

It's becoming all so real now - it was months ago that DH and I discussed TTC in December/January, and now it's literally upon us - yippee!!!

Keeping positive for all of you - thinking 'positive' thoughts!!

bratnav · 25/11/2008 15:29

Also DPs don't seem to be quite so perturbed by the 'let's just shag all the time' approach

Gateau · 25/11/2008 14:47

I know what you mean, and that's just the tip of the iceberg! You can get too obsessed with it all, I think.
I guess there's something to be said for just going for it and hoping for the best.

bratnav · 25/11/2008 14:36

No worries, although the whole 'mucous' sp thing makes me just gag

Gateau · 25/11/2008 14:16

That's very kind of you, Bratnav.
Many thanks.

bratnav · 25/11/2008 13:59

Found this for you!

Changes in cervical mucus. Several studies have found that monitoring changes in the cervical mucus is an accurate and useful method for women to use to predict their most fertile days. As your cycle progresses, your cervical mucus increases in volume and changes texture. The greater volume and changes in texture reflect your body's rising levels of the hormone oestrogen and show that you are close to ovulating. You are considered most fertile when the mucus becomes clear, slippery and stretchy. The role of this mucus is to nourish, protect and speed the sperm on its way up through the uterus and into the fallopian tubes for the rendezvous with your egg. Many women compare the copious, watery mucus at this stage to raw egg whites.

? Lower abdominal pain. About one-fifth of women actually feel ovulatory activity, which can range from mild achiness to twinges of pain. Some women describe it as "one-sided back ache" or a specific tenderness. The condition, called mittelschmerz, may last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. If you notice the same type of pain at roughly the same time each month, check the condition of your cervical mucus as well. Ovulatory pain can be a useful guide to their fertile window for some women.

You may not be aware of it but you may be showing other signs that you are at your most fertile. Studies of changes in appearance and behaviour across the menstrual cycle have become more popular in recent years. Think back over your menstrual cycle and you may find that some of the following peaked when you were approaching ovulation:

? Feeling sexy and flirty. Increased libido, improved mood and feeling more sociable may all be signs that you're at your most fertile. If you are in a stable partnership, you may notice a peak in sexual desire when you are in the ovulatory phase of your menstrual cycle. Whether in a settled relationship or not, the fertile window is the period when women are more likely to feel like going out, preferably where they can socialise with other men and be a little flirtatious. If you're in a relationship, you may also have noticed that your partner gets a little more possessive and attentive at this time!

? Looking hot, hot, hot! Studies have found that both how you feel and how you look on the attractiveness stakes goes up when you near ovulation.
A recent study found that women reported feeling more physically attractive at this fertile time. You may look more attractive to others too, as it has been found that women take more care with their appearance when they are at their most fertile. Without realising it, you may choose clothes that flatter you and take more care over grooming and accessorising; and the closer to ovulation the hotter women look. Although we may think that we don't use sexual displays, as commonly seen in the animal world, we can still use our feminine wiles to make sure we catch the eye of the prime male in our life.

? With a scent to drive a man wild. Not only may you look good, you may also smell hot, hot, hot! It has been found that women smell more attractive to men when they are in the ovulatory phase of their cycle than when this fertile window has passed. You may think that nobody knows you're ovulating but those tell-tale pheromones give the game away.

iloverosycheeks · 25/11/2008 11:32

Sorry Gateau - I have only really just started reading up about ovulation so no expert - have tried search on babycentre?

Gateau · 25/11/2008 11:21

Hi all and good luck!
Can anyone help with my ovulation signs question?

bratnav · 25/11/2008 11:20

Sorry for your sad news Mrs, but it's great that you've decided to try again.

rosycheeks-40 is not old, but I have to say that I agree about the age gap. I am slightly worried about the big gap between ours, but I suppose this is a 2nd family for both of us so can't be helped
