Hello,

As Nelix has a bfp (yay!) and she started the last one I thought I'd start this one as a continuation of this thread

Here's hoping we all get BFPs this month but if not then let's continue the thread until we all graduate

Congratulations ILove!!

Sorry to hear you got a BFN C1ndy but you never know until AF has shown up.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you smiley

On age and being obsessed with ttc, I agree yellowflowers. I'm 31 so have all the time in the world, or so people keep telling me. I admit that that can take some of the stress away but really, when you want a baby and feel ready but it's just not happening (and loads of your friends are having no such difficulty), it is still really hard.

iggypiggy - it's very hard not to get obsessive about all this. If you discover any strategies, do let me know.

Am off back to work now before I get fired!!!

Heebychick · 02/12/2008 15:35

Wow ilove huge congratulations to you!! well done! if it helps i feel exactly the same as you, i had a mc in May and have been 'waiting' for it to happen again this month, still haven't heard when my scan will be so am hoping it's soon so i can have some reassurance. How do you feel physically?

smiley sorry you are feeling down honey, i know how you feel and we have all been there, hopefully you will have your good news soon.

Lots of love to everyone xxx

smileycat · 02/12/2008 13:47

C1ndy sorry you got a BFN I felt how you do now yesterday when mine said 'not pregnant' I don't know whats worst not seeing a +ive sign on the test or it telling you that you are 'NOT PREGNANT' in large letters. I hate this time of the month I must have been to the loo 20 times this morning one cause I'm peeing more (everything swollen for either pg or AF) & because I'm knicker checking everytime I feel slightly 'wet' or get a larger than average pain, if AF is going to come I wish she would bloody well hurry up so that I can stop all this fussing & get on with the next cycle...sorry rant over, its just really really fustrating

Jools1 · 02/12/2008 13:37

Well, I have done a test and a BFN, so know that AF is on the way.

C1NDY · 02/12/2008 13:29

Ilovebeingamummy huge congratulation to you. You will be fine, just take each day as it comes and look after your little bean.

Sn0wflake · 02/12/2008 13:17

ILoveBeingAMummy Yes great news! Every BFP we get makes me feel really happy and joyful.

YellowFlowers Yes you are right. At any age it can get very hard if there is a long delay and your just not sure if you will make it. I suppose my point was that it's my first month of trying to conceive and so I don't have a lot of experience. But you are right it's very nice to come to those that do if I have a question.

yellowflowers · 02/12/2008 13:01

Ilovebeingamummy - that's brilliant - great news. woooohoooooooo!

sn0wflake - I don't agree re age. I am 30 and I know that means in theory I have a lot of time but actually if you've been ttc and nothing happening then you can feel despair and other feelings whatever age. I have found huge support in this thread despite being at different stage to some of the members.

OP posts:
Sn0wflake · 02/12/2008 10:53

Goodmorning Jools1, it's understandable to feel blue about the situation but you are now heading towards a new start. I know all the platitudes sound trite but everyday will heal you a little bit. As I said before I'm really hopeful about Chirstmas, the new year and new starts in general.

I think that I am not in the same mental place as a lot of ladies on this thread as I have really just started out and at 34 have a bit of time to play with. Sometimes I wonder if I can give the same sort of support as some of the more experienced lovely ladies round here?.but hey I will do my best.

I do laugh at myself?.last month I had this stupid idea that I would just get pregnant at the drop of a hat. Basically because my mum always concieved so easily. Now I see that it really doesn't always work out that way and yet I really don't think the medical establishment puts out enough information to women in there 20's about it. Oh I know everybody talks about the biological clock ticking, but I really don't think I had ever heard that it can be quite tricky to get sperm to meet egg.

Anyway why am I ranting?

C1ndy and Smileycat I have my fingers crossed for you.

About Preseed: I ordered some and have just been using it for lubrication. I would find bding quite painful without help - and I had read that normal lubes kill sperm. I have only been using a small amount and not really internally but it comes with little plungers to insert inside. Knowing it's consistensy I wouldn't use a whole plungers worth. Anyway it could be really helpful if you don't produce much EWCM. I don't seem to at the moment. But then again perhaps more foreplay would do the same thing (but sometimes I'm so tired I just want to have a quickie).

smileycat · 02/12/2008 10:51

Fantastic news Ilove my fingers & crossed that everything will work out for you this time

smileycat · 02/12/2008 10:49

Heeby No I think I'll hold off doing another test & see if she arrives today. I do have sort of AF pains but they do feel a little different to what they normally do (but its probably wishful thinking)
My temp last month when AF arrived was 36.59 & this morning it was 36.69, during the 2WW it tends to go up & down between 36.9 & 36.4 ish. I looked on FF & the day before AF last month it was 36.69 so it could just mean that I'm having a longer LP this month & she'll come tomorrow
If for some reason she doesn't appear today & my temp is higher tomorrow I'll def test then, but I'm not in a pg frame of mind & have already moved onto next month

Ilovebeingamummy · 02/12/2008 10:48

Hi all

Just to say I have been occasionally lurking to keep up with the developments but not posting in a desperate attempt to keep sane through this cycle (3rd of ttc, 2nd post mc)

Congrats to all those with their BFPs this month....and can you please add me to the list Due around Aug 6th....

Am trying not to get excited due to my early mc in sept but nevertheless am

lots of love luck and babydust to all who remember me and all those new names too x

iggypiggy · 02/12/2008 10:41

Heeby - that's what am worried about - I do tend towards the slightly obessive anyway - so I need to give myself a few rules. Thanks for advice.

Heebychick · 02/12/2008 10:37

Hi ladies,

sorry to hear that the AF witches are about this month again, nasty baggage! I'm sorry that i can't say anything more positive than it will be fine, you will all get there and you might even be grateful for the time off beforehand and the chances to practice and drink!

iggy not rambling at all, totally right for you to be getting a little more focused than normal, i don't think it matters when you actually start ttc or how long it takes, once you have decided to do it you want it to happen right away. I became obsessed and started making myself ill with it, i really had to take stock of what was important and try to be realistic and practical. I am sure it helped to try and relax, try to give yourself certain moments in the day to obsess then moments when you are banned - this helped me.

smiley will you do a test today? how was your temp? was it as low as last month?

cindy when are you due? good luck with test!!

village good luck this month, do try the no caffiene/alcohol thing as well - nothing to lose - it's only 2 weeks!

iggypiggy · 02/12/2008 10:25

C1ndy - thanks for advice much appreciated

Queenie - time off sounds like a good plan.

I know I am really very new to this - but am really worried that am starting to focus so much on it - and worry - and whilst I know others have been ttc much longer - we had 2 months last Dec/ Jan - then stopped ttc until Sept this year - so oddly I feel like it has been a long time - even though really it hasn't...

sorry - am rambling - but am worried I will become totally obsessed - am def heading that way...

smileycat · 02/12/2008 10:16

C1ndy I'm in the same boat as you still no AF yet, but did have a small temp drop this morning so no holding out any hope & recon she will be along later to spoil the fun. Just worked out that if AF arrives today I should be due next AF around the 27th so told DH to buy in a couple of pg tests & w'll do one on Xmas day, it will either make it an extra special day or we can drown our sorrows with loads of Xmas booze & some sloppy cheese & buscuits hummm

C1NDY · 02/12/2008 09:52

I am off to get a first response pg test at lunchtime... as AF symptons have not showed yet. I have nothing better to do at lunchtime! Really sad I know.... :0)

VillageMum · 02/12/2008 09:43

Hi Pezzina, Cindy, and all you other lovely ladies...
Cd13 now and we are following the DP. So far so good!
Cindy, glad you're feeling better this week. I had the exact same question about Preseed, BTW! Does anyone know the answer?
Queenie, a month with no pressure sounds like a fantastic idea! Good luck!

queenie1 · 02/12/2008 09:19

Thanks so much for chocolate, vodka, hugs and general kind words. It's so great to be able to air your frustration and fury to people who understand.

I feel a lot better today and have done two (contradictory) things to lift my spirits.

The first is ordering pre-seed, a thermometer and ovulation sticks on line. Haven't got a clue how to use it all but thought I would do anything to improve my chances...

but then the second is to allow myself space this month and relax a bit over this cycle. I may do what you suggest yellowflowers or smiley. I guess I'll just see how I feel over the next few weeks.

how is everyone today?

xxx

C1NDY · 02/12/2008 09:09

Question on Preseed. I may want to try this, this month. Can someone tell me if they have found this useful. I do not have any shortness of CM at all, so do you think I need this? does it prelong how long the sperm can live upto if I do not have fertile CM?

C1NDY · 02/12/2008 09:07

Okay guys, AF did not show yesterday but I think it is because I ovulated later... so it should show up today. I did a boots pg test this morning which was BFN... so AF should be on its way. I have lost half a stone, so am happy that my dieting is going well so another month of trying will not be so bad as I can lose some

SmileyCat its not over until AF shows so you never know. The temp thing sounds really positive.

Yellowflowers I know how you are feeling but keep positive our time will come. (hugs)

Queenie Have the month off if you want to have a break from the routine, it may just help. You could still keep one eye on when you ovualate - just like smileycat has noted down, it really sounds good to me. I may try something like that this month.

IggyPiggy I have a glass of grapefruit juice every morning with my folic acid tablet but then during the day I ensure I drink at least 2 litres of water a day. I have cut all caffine out of my diet and drink Redbush tea which is natural and caffine free.

Jools1 · 02/12/2008 09:07

Morning all

Deeja / Snowflake - like the Christmassy name I agree - it is hard to keep up and not miss people out by accident when replying sometimes

Welcome IggyPiggy Welcome back Boosieboo - hope you had a lovely weekend and I know what you mean about spotting more symptoms when not PG - I was laughing at myself the other day - feeling nauseous on the way to work and having to remind myself there was no way on earth I was PG !!

Spats - I reckon you've done enough Smileycat - still hoping ?. Hope you have a better day today Yellowflowers Funtime - you've said it exactly - I feel like I've wasted 12 weeks on a pregnancy that didn't work, plus 3 weeks recovering - time is running out

I did another HPT today - if I was looking for a BFP, I'd have squinted, held it up to a bright light, then pulled the test apart to find a faint line but I think, for my purposes anyway, this is a BFN, so I can finally close the door on this experience and move on. I thought I'd be happy, and I am, but also quite at the finality of it all.

funtimewincies · 01/12/2008 19:33

Spats - don't worry about it coming out. Millions of the little fellas are released and most will come out. Some of us on here like to get their bum in the air afterwards to given as many as possible the best chance of reaching the cervix, but only a few will make it through and the rest will drip out. Get pedalling girl !

Jools - pleased you're feeling a bit better today. I know with my mmc, I got really down about 'wasting' 3 months, iyswim. I felt that I could handle an early miscarriage (and have since done ) because I hadn't got my hopes up too far. But to get so far along and to have dealt with the worst of the sickness and to think that I was 'safe' and then to miscarry was just horrible. Once I accepted that there was a good reason why I felt to crap, it began to be OK. Eventually you'll stop getting all the 'it was meant to be' codswallop and that will help. Hugs and choccy.

Hugs also to those of you feeling really down with the whole fiasco. I remember that after the hope and optimism of the first couple of months, I had a real dip for the next couple as the whole 'no more sex just for fun' kicked in. After month 5, however, sheer bloody-mindedness took over .

Sorry, what a ramble today, making up for not being able to post often .

yellowflowers · 01/12/2008 18:00

hi queenie - big hug coming your way xxxxxx
month off not a bad idea, especially if you keep having unprotected sex so it may happen anyway...
