Hello,

As Nelix has a bfp (yay!) and she started the last one I thought I'd start this one as a continuation of this thread

Here's hoping we all get BFPs this month but if not then let's continue the thread until we all graduate

Becky* lots of love honey and huge congratulations!!! If it helps i am feeling exactly the same as you, i had all the excitement and then lost it early in first trimester. I am panic striken every time i get a twinge and although i'm trying not to get worried it is there, for my Dh too.

I read on a baby site that avoiding the following can help reduce chances:

Avoid sex for first 12 weeks if your mc was 1st trim.
Alcohol
Caffiene
Hot places / over heating / too much exercise
Stress (easy to say!)

Any other tips would be great ladies ....

Oh and if you feel brave enough i have joined the GFJ drinkers anonymous on the ante natal thread so come on over if you want to, would be lovely to see you

Hi to all you ladies on the bdfest this week - good luck!!

xxx

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 13:02

Becky, hoping and believing that all will go well for you this time round. I had a mmc in September; I think we just have to remember that each pg is unique and that the statistics for it being just fine next time are on our side! x

BeckyMcG · 11/11/2008 12:58

Girls ? your words of support are great. I actually feel better just reading them. I love this chat room as I know letting anyone know in real life will Jinx it. I?m going to be as healthy as I can, I really am. If it is a sticky bean I think I?ll also go for a private scan as soon as I can which would be w/c 8th December or some-time before Xmas. £100 will be worth it for me to have piece of mind before the break.

When I was much younger ? a teenager- I accidentally fell pregnant and when I went for the 12 week scan they said the baby had died at 8 weeks. This was obviously a huge relief back then as I was deciding what to do but would hate that to happen now. There had been no symptoms at all.

Yellow ? I used OPK?s a couple of cycles and they didn?t always work ? or maybe I didn?t ovulate I suppose as I was unsuccessful
Spats ? sorry AF got you ? I know how you feel have been there several times before!

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 12:55

smiley, it all sounds good. If FF tells you that you have ov'd, go ahead and trust it! I also do both OPKs and FF - the OPKs give me hope, and FF seals the deal.

smileycat · 11/11/2008 12:42

Thanks Village for the info, last month was my 1st month of temping so still getting to grips with what it all means. At least if FF & OPK tell me I've OV'd this month that will be two in row & mean that my one ovary is producing every month..I will be a happy bunny then ..roll on next wk

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 12:30

smiley, if FF says you have ov'd, then you have - that warming progesterone only gets secreted if the egg has been released, so don't you worry! BBT (showing a sustained rise in temps) is the only way to know that you have ov'd. The OPKs tell you that you're about to, but it may not always happen - only the high temps can confirm it.

yellow, it's possible to miss the LH surge on OPKs if you don't wee on the sticks at the right time of day - avoid first thing in the morning; around 2pm or evening is best they say. Oh they're tricky things, these OPKs...

Cindy, thanks for all the support! I'd love you to keep me company in a fortnight. Really hope you get your BFP!

WanabeMum · 11/11/2008 12:25

Hello ladies,

Wow this thread has had a busy weekend! sorry i haven't been on, been a very hectic weekend here!

Anyway, Congratulations Becky!!!!!!
Try and stay as positive as possible, we are all sending positive thoughts for a sticky bean!!!

Welcome to Sans you'll enjoy this thread, it's helped me de-stress so many times and has actually stopped DH seeing the crazy woman that i become during the 2ww and when af arrives!

I'm CD28 today 8DPO so have until next monday before AF arrives, which ive convinced myself is going to happen. I've been very naughty this month because i convinced myself it wasn't going to happen. Never mind, start a fresh next month with the DP and armed with GFJ too!! The only problem is we are going away on the 23rd for 2 weeks with my parents and my OV day would fall the day before we fly home, hmmm that may be tricky seems as we are staying in the same house! I'll just grab DH when I can and try and be quiet oh dear!!

smileycat · 11/11/2008 11:46

pezzina & yellow some of the website do say that not every woman ovulates every month, some times you have an 'off' month & no egg is produced. I know its frustrating as its another month wasted, but at least if you don't get a poss on your OPK stick you can relax in the 2WW. That's one of my biggest fears that I am not OVing or only every other month, with only 1 ovary & 38 yrs old every month counts. I should OV this month around 19th so will be very happy when the OPK tell me I have it will def put my mind at rest. FF friend says I did last month from my temp rise, but the rise in temp is your body warming up the womb just incase the egg gets fertilized, I don't know if its a def sign that you have released an egg, but the OPK picks up the hormone, so I will believe that more than FF, big hug to you both ((hug))

Sans04 · 11/11/2008 11:28

Hi all
Pezzina thank you alot you're very right I am not alone I already had all the support that I asked for.
Becky well done fantastic news, don't worry, enjoy the moment lets hope strongly it will work out this time. I'm so happy for you lots of big hugs for you.
spats I am sorry af got you, I know how hard is that we all felt same way but ust take it easy and try to be positive, lots of big hugs to you too.
Smileycat good on you go for the OV sticks I think that is more accurate and peacfull mind good luck.
sending lots of baby dust to all of us.

yellowflowers · 11/11/2008 11:04

Hi pezzina - my opks not worked at all this month - not even a faint line with fmu so maybe a bad batch, or maybe I am not ovulating this month or maybe I am going to have an ultra long cycle - aaaargh!

Elliegant · 11/11/2008 10:54

becky congratulations.

spats sorry about af , I know its hard but focus on trying again next month (easier said than do I know) sending big hugs

Pezzina · 11/11/2008 10:40

Smileycat ? the same thing happened to me last month ? so I definitely agree ? keep BDing until you?re positive you have OV?d.

I had my first reflexology session last night which was lovely and very interesting. She picked up on the fact I was in the middle of my cycle and said that she thought I may be ovulating from my right side this month. She also said I should go home and get busy with DH. So I did and we did . The puzzling thing is I?m still not getting a positive from the OPKs. Do they definitely work for everyone? Has anyone had experience of them not working for them?

FF predicted I would OV yesterday or today ? I felt an OV pain yesterday and all my other signs point to having OV?d but still the OPKs say no.

smileycat · 11/11/2008 10:29

Yellow your temp rise will only tell you after you've OV'd. I think I read it rises upto 24hrs after Ovulation, so if this is your OV rise you could of released your egg upto 24hrs ago. You need a steady rise for a couple of days before you can really tell if you OV'd as it might drop again tomorrow. I got lots of EWCM last month & a temp rise & thought I'd OV'd early, we timed it right & did lots of BDing, then had a break & BD two days later. FF then told me I hadn't OV'd when I thought I had but 2/3 later as my temp dropped for 1 day then went back up again over the next couple of days. I guess FF was right as I didn't get pg this month & only did the deed 1 time for their dates & lots for mine.
I'm going to start using OV sticks from day 9/10 this month just to make sure I don't waste any important days & so that we don't get to the stage of being too tired when those dates come up, an added expence but hopefully it will be worth it

Pezzina · 11/11/2008 10:16

Hi Yellowflowers - my temp also went up today - 0.3c. I think we have to wait for three days of high temp before we can be sure OV happened - so keep BDing!

yellowflowers · 11/11/2008 10:11

My temp up 0.25c today but don't know if that is enough to be a spike to show ovulation happened (no ewcm yet which I usually get). Dh said yes to bd tonight but it;s hard to do quite so much!

Pezzina · 11/11/2008 10:10

BeckyMcG ? congratulations! That is good news. I?m sure all will be well and this will be a sticky bean. So, did you have any idea that you were pregnant? Any symptoms?

Spats ? sorry to hear AF arrived. Big ((hugs)) sweetie. Treat yourself to something naughty and then get back on the grapefruit drinking train heading for a BFP!! I would recommend the Deanna Plan ? its really given me focus this month and encouraged my DH and I to BD much more than previous months . I think the cough mixture you asked about is Robitussin ? see quote from Deanna Plan

?If the Deanna-plan does not work and you are faithful to it for three months, take a dose of plain Robitussin cough syrup (or any cough medicine that says "expectorant" and NOT "antihistamine") each day (preferably a few hours prior to "trying") starting around Day 10 until the day after your ovulation predictor goes off. It should help make all the mucus in your body runnier, including that produced by your cervix. (Oh the gruesome details required in baby-making!) The sperm in the runnier mucus will live about two days, and will be up there and ready for the 12-hour life of the egg.?

spats · 11/11/2008 09:48

i remmeber seeing a refernece to a cough mixture which improves mucus. Does anyone know what it was. I did grapefruit and epo this month and came off antihistamine but obvioulsy no luck. Was thinking about doing deanne plan and the cough mixture x

funtimewincies · 11/11/2008 09:43

Congratulations becky! Excellent news .

I'm afraid that nothing takes away the fear that mc will happen again, some days you'll feel positive and others not. There is also not much that you can do, except the stuff you'd do anyway (cut out booze, take your folic acid, avoid shelfish, etc.) The causes of mc are mostly out of our hands, sorry. Each day gone though is a day closer to beginning to relax.

Take care and try to enjoy yours and dh's little secret.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling down Spats, I feeling a similar 'can I be arsed anymore' about the whole setup . For me it's the 'af, bd, 2ww, bfp, mc' cycle. That's the good thing about this thread, no one judges on the days when you need to wallow a little.

spats · 11/11/2008 09:23

AF is here i am getting slightly depressed about this whole ttc. Its such a cycle of af, then bd and the 2ww. aarrgghh x

yellowflowers · 11/11/2008 09:21

wow - congrats beckymcg. xxxxxxx

spats · 11/11/2008 08:17

congrats becky keep chilling out and take it easy, hope its a sticky one this time.
I am waiting for the full flow today of AF, keep checking knickers when feel a drip - this is so frustrating this ttc x

smileycat · 10/11/2008 21:59

Becky OMG well done fantastic news, don't be too worried, enjoy the moment I'm sure it will work out this time. MC's happen for a reason think of it that way. This is your time I'm sooooo happy for you big ((hug))
Spats sorry to hear you think the witch is on her way, but it could be implantation bleeding as its brown fingers crossed for you, extra big ((hug))

BeckyMcG · 10/11/2008 21:08

Hey girlies,
Have had friends round all weekend to the new house so haven't had time to check. I know officially that tomorrow (11th) is my day to check but I am away all this week with work and not back till Friday so I did a test this morning and..... BFP.....BFP

The line was there and it was strong line too!! I called hubby in and said 'happy housewarming' and showed him. He was so pleased.
As the day has wore on though I've started to get apprehensive. This is what it was like last time and then I miscarried. I'm sat alone in the hotel tonight wondering if I'll keep this one? I really hope so. What can I do to increase the chances of not M/C?
After being so pleased last time I just feel a little apprehensive now....hmmmmmmm

spats · 10/11/2008 18:12

oh i think af may be on the way. Think there was a bit of a brown smear when went to toilet (tmi i know!!). How on earth do people get pregnant???!!! I will be using the DP next month i think. I did grapefruit juice (not from concentrate) , evening primrose oil and came off my antihistamines to avoid cervial mucus drying up, what else is a girl to do?? Oh well at least if i'm not pg this month i can be in my dancing show and not be about 16wks pg which will be fun getting a costume for!!! Have to look for the positives in these trying times. I have a splitting headache which is making me feel sick and tired and irritable. But this rant is making me feel slightly better so thank you girls. I think this is the friendliest, chattiest thread i am on. Always something going onhugs and kisses to you all - must be AF time i am getting all emotional!!! xx

Elliegant · 10/11/2008 16:53
