Hello,

As Nelix has a bfp (yay!) and she started the last one I thought I'd start this one as a continuation of this thread

Here's hoping we all get BFPs this month but if not then let's continue the thread until we all graduate

Thanks Yellowflowers Becky and Pezzina, That's all good information. I think I might not bother next month. I think just listening to my body and watching for EWCM may be for me. It's a lot of money if it only works sometimes.

Pezzina · 25/11/2008 17:11

That's very good advice Becky How are you doing?

Deeja I only used the OPK sticks last month and they did work for me. They showed I OV'd later than anticipated and my temps backed it up. I'm not sure I will use them this month though as I now know what to look out for (CM and temps) and will keep up the BDing to at least every other day around possible OV time.

Although there is something addictive about peeing on a stick.... I may well give in and get some when the time approaches...

BeckyMcG · 25/11/2008 16:44

Hello ladies, I've just been catching up on all the posts.
Try not to feel too down Cindy or anyone else. WRT older mum's - my mum had me at 45 and my sister had her three babies at age 20, 41 and 45 - what a gap!! I think it's down to positive mental attitude, how old you feel and your health. Cindy - it sounds like you're doing the right thing trying to lose weight if you need to. It's hard I know but you'll feel better too!

Deeja I used the sticks and sometimes managed to get a positive and sometimes didn't. Am not convinced they were that reliable. I think the temping method seems to be the highest recommended of my friends to predict ovulation.

I went with frequency however my main tip would be to try and keep the sex romantic. Even though we both knew we "had to have it" on certain days I still used massage oil and wore my sexy underwear sometimes - made sure it wasn't all about quickies and legs up!!

yellowflowers · 25/11/2008 16:23

Hi Deeja, for 2 months now I have got nothing on ovulation sticks other than test line except a line that wasn't quite dark enough just as I ovulated - on the day of ovulation in fact judging by other signs and temps, and a very faint line the next day. But no build up and no warning. I think I may not even bother with them this month.

Deeja · 25/11/2008 15:46

Hey guys hope everybody is doing well.

Can I just ask any body who is using ovulation sticks - do you always catch your LH surge each month? Do you find them reliable?

Thanks

Heebychick · 25/11/2008 15:41

jools ha ha at symptom spotting - bodies can play all sorts of tricks on us huh! i remember feeling yuk for ages after MC, and in answer to your OV'ing now i have a friend who MC and then her DD was concieved 2 weeks later so it can happen! good luck with whatever happens

smiley sounds promising, when will you test? i've lost track.

Jools1 · 25/11/2008 13:07

I was laughing at myself this morning, as there is absolutely no way on earth I am PG at the mo - was still feeling low-level nausea on the way in to work today and surprising myself at the amount of times I get up to pee !!! Someone remind me of this next time I am symptom spotting !!!!!!!

smileycat · 25/11/2008 13:04

said I wasn't going to symptom spot this month, although its really hard not to when you have it in the back of your mind all the time when your on the 2WW. Feeling very very tired today & not tired because of the wkend, really heavy eyed no energy kind of tired & have a small pain where I have my scar from my op(c-section area) feels like its tight oh & very windy (tmi) Think I'll have an early night tonight & hopefully feel more with it tomorrow

spats · 25/11/2008 12:35

smileycat · 25/11/2008 12:22

I was talking to DH last night & told him about some of the chats going on on this thread & others. I said that I feel really sorry for some of the ladies that have been trying for so long to get pg without any sucess & especially if its their 1st that they are trying for. I said to him at least we have one already & if it really doesn't work for us at least we have him. My DH said but I really really want one now, it was a good idea when we 1st started trying but as the months have gone on, I am finding now that I really want another child.
Bless him, its the 1st time he has really opened up to it all. I thought he was doing it to keep me happy fingers crossed for this month I would love to give him the best Xmas present ever, now that I know that he wants this baby as much as I do

Jools1 · 25/11/2008 12:15

Hope you feel better soon Heeby

I have EWCM again today - not as much as yesterday, but combining that with how "friendly" I'm feeling, I think OV must be imminent - since I am away overnight tomorrow night, I'd better brush up on my seduction techniques tonight

I just cannot believe that my body is doing this so soon - mc was two weeks today and it looks like OV is gonna be either early or more or less right on schedule - is this a good omen ?

Am now quaking with fear and anticipation at the thought of being on a 2WW again.

I read somewhere the other day that pineapple and brazil nuts are good "implantation" foods because they contain Selenium - anyone heard of that one ? Am considering going out to buy some for lunch !!

Heebychick · 25/11/2008 12:09

Hi ladies, i have been suffering with a horrible cold all weekend and off work today so have tried to catch up with you all.

cindy i hope the next week goes quickly for you, try very hard not to analyse and look for symptoms, it will just drive you mad. Chin up honey, it will happen!

jools sorry you're feeling blue honey, i remember wanting to get back to it right away after my mc and almost as if there wouldn't be a gap between pregnancies, i didn't for 7 months (but for other reasons) but it did get easier, the emotions are very raw and you have to take each day/week as they come, you are bound to be feeling all over the place.

How is everyone else doing? sorry if i have missed any chats?!!

spats · 25/11/2008 12:04

not got access to laptop at the mo so am quickly logging on at work. Haven't got time to read all postings in last week but will scroll later to see if any bpf are around. Its like coming back to old friends logging in again!!. I am doing DP this month and its hell!! i really do not feel like BD on CD8. I have to wait until halfway through the month before i can have any interest in BD!!! If it doesn't work this month i am not trying again, its like a chore!! Anyway on CD15 and no pos OPK yet so keeping on the every other day. Two firends just had babies last week but i am pleased to say i didn't get depressed.I am going to Dr tom to ask for tests to make sure everything is working well. Anyway gotta go, will try log in again later in the week. 7-10 days for laptop to be back then i will be back to gossip. x

Pezzina · 25/11/2008 11:12

Hello to all!

Yellow sorry you think AF has got you but glad to have your company back at the bottom. I had a rubbish day yesterday - was really grumpy - but feeling fantastic today - our hormones really do have a lot to answer for!

Jools I will be 37 in January and am certainly feeling my body clock ticking - but as you say, the best thing is to ignore it, relax and don't get stressed.

VillageMum SmileyCat I LOVE the purple wee idea - you made me LOL

Deeja · 25/11/2008 11:10

C1ndy About the legs in the air thing. Basically I can't see it would hurt (well it depends what position you are talking about) but I have read that if you are going to put a pillow under your pelvis it should be a little one and not lift you up too much otherwise the sperm goes too far back.

VillageMum · 25/11/2008 10:28

smiley, ha, yes, a clear dark belly line would be helpful! Or maybe your wee could turn purple or something as soon as you were pg. 'Oh look - I have pg wee!' No more weeing on sticks then... Clearblue would go out of business. And we would all be asking each other 'have you gone purple yet?' Oh no must stop this flight of fancy... yellow sorry to hear it's AF!

yellowflowers · 25/11/2008 09:45

hi village - feel less chilled today as pretty certain it's my period. grrrrrr.

How's everyone else? Pezzina -= sorry not your month either but pleased you'll be around to wait with me this month.

jools - are you feeing any better?

cindy - hope you feel happier soon.
xx

smileycat · 25/11/2008 09:37

Jools I'm 38 so another older TTCer to add to your list
Feeling good today, wishing for next wk to hurry up & get here so that I can either test or start again, the not knowing is the worst part. Wouldn't it be great if that dark line you get when you are at least 6 months pg, the one that appears from you belly button down would appear the moment you get implantation...god wishful thinking but it would put a stop to all this 'am I, arn't I'

VillageMum · 25/11/2008 09:14

Cindy, give yourself time - as you say your body is slowly getting back to where it should be, and when it is, you'll fall pg. It's very early days still - certainly nothing to be worried about! Plus you are probably down because you have a cold coming. Be gentle on yourself...

yellow, great that you are so chilled!

Jools1 · 25/11/2008 09:12

Sorry I meant Cindy

I haven't been out of bed this early for nearly 3 weeks - still half asleep I think

Jools1 · 25/11/2008 09:11

Wow - didn't realise there are at least 3 of us TTC at 39 ! That actually makes me feel better I hope it does you too Queenie I think the biological clock is responsible for a lot of the TTC anxiety - tell it to take a hike and let you relax till after Christmas ! I conceived when I was a bit tipsy - am sure that meant I was more relaxed

As for legs in the air - I've never bothered - but have always laid in bed quietly for at least an hour afterwards and not showered till the next morning

I had a major wobble last night - something in the air perhaps ? - saw loads and loads of EWCM and had pain on my left side - not as pronounced as my usual ovulation pains and went away pretty quick, but I did think I should pounce on DP, then got all worried about the crap I've been eating since MC, the weight I've put on, the fact I want a baby desperately but can't see myself as a mum of a teenager - and didn't pounce

Of course, this morning I wake up knowing I was being stupid but DP was already up and getting ready for work

Oh well, maybe it wasn't OV. It is normally CD16 for me and today is only CD15 post MC, so hopefully not and I have a chance to get my head together and do this properly.

C1NDY · 25/11/2008 08:59

Queenie Having time now to read email proberly as I am feel sh*t right now, feel like I have a hangover... no I am not pg just think I have caught the awful bug that has been going around. I am normally so positive but have been feeling a little down lately... battle with the weight is not going too well and I guess I am just feeling sorry for myself. BUT I know we will get there, the support we all get from here is amazing. I will back to my normal self soon. But it is awfully when you do everything right and still do not get anything to award you for your efforts. Oh well... roll on AF...

VillageMum just am so weepy at the moment, so forgive me. I have only been trying for two cycles really... first we can't count as it was the MC cycle ... in some ways it better that it takes a bit longer so that my body gets back to were it should be. The problem I have is that my doctor would proberly say the same as your doctor says... but its hard when the clock is ticking... Goush, I can't believe I am like this today, I am normally so up beat. I think I am getting a cold.

I am thinking about the legs in the air thingy... don't think I did it correctly this month. Thinking I may devise something which keeps my bottom in the air (TMI ! hehehe). I think the pelvis needs to be at an angle and i may have had my bottom on the bed with the legs up and think that perhaps this was not a good position. Last time I got pg (actually I had my DD doing this and my last MC) I placed my legs high on the wall... perhaps I need to do this again. I could perhaps tape three or four pillows together to ensure the bottom is raised. Now am I ranting... has anyone any tips.

yellowflowers · 24/11/2008 23:40

bugger - 11dpo and spotting started. Am sure not implantation as feel like period does when it starts except rather than bad mood I have been in great mood for past few days and also feel fine about it started rather than bitterly disappointed like last few months. all so odd. will move myself to bottom when period starts proper

VillageMum · 24/11/2008 22:00

Cindy, tomorrow is cd6 for me and we'll start the DP on cd8 - it will be a long haul though as I have a 33 day cycle and only ov on cd18! I feel exhausted already just thinking about it...
I am 39 too so I share all your fears about time running out, hun - but try to keep them in perspective. We know that we can get pg because we have before... And if you ov regularly then Clomid isn't necessary... worth talking to your GP about it all, just to set your mind at rest? I went to mine a fortnight ago and poured out all my fears about never having a successful pg again and she basically told me: 'look, you know you ovulate, you know you can get pregnant, now go and do your damnedest but don't stress if it doesn't happen immediately'. How long have you been trying? I think I'll keep on ttc for six months before going back to my GP. Haven't thought of trying the Boots test, but who knows? If nothing happens in a few months then maybe... Sending you a ((hug)), don't give up! x

queenie1 · 24/11/2008 18:34

Thanks for all your insights about cervical positions - makes me feel a bit better / more hopeful!! Oh the rollercoaster of it all. I guess there really is no way of knowing until AF is late...

saying that, great to hear you feel dizzyish yellowflowers! Sounds very promising

C1ndy - can't answer any of your questions but do try to keep positive. (I know that's easier said than done!!). But I would go and see your doctor. It's good to get them involved and on board as soon as possible. Also don't they say you should get in touch with doctors after six months of trying if you're over 35??
