Hello,

As Nelix has a bfp (yay!) and she started the last one I thought I'd start this one as a continuation of this thread

Here's hoping we all get BFPs this month but if not then let's continue the thread until we all graduate

C1NDY · 09/12/2008 09:57

We must all start a new thread ...

C1NDY · 09/12/2008 09:56

Pinkie I know how you feel. This is my second cycle now of ttc? and you know something I am starting to think that Thursday will be bd.. then miss a day and then Saturday bd ? and then miss a day?until OPK turns pink and then bd for three days! phew this is my life now?. ?. I am getting a little fed-up of it, why can?t it be easier!!! I want to scream sometimes.

Smileycat I echo your same thoughts on ttc? if DH only knew what we go through.

Have you all noticed... I am catching up with posts!!!

C1NDY · 09/12/2008 09:21

Ilovebeingamummy oh I am so sorry for your loss (big hugs) I feel your pain. I really don?t think it?s the breastfeeding which would cause this, no one really knows what causes MC. I think its natures way of saying that the time was not right for the bean to develop. Be strong and try and stay positive, we are all here to support you.

VillageMum Funtimewincies Prezzina

The test I have taken was by Fertell you can buy it at Boots. The difference between an ovarian reserve test and an ovulation test is that an ovulation test measures a hormone called Luteinising Hormone (LH) which increases when the egg has matured and causes it to be released. This is called ovulation. An ovulation test only shows you the time in your menstrual cycle when you are most likely to conceive, it will not tell you about your fertility or the quality of the egg you produce.

The Fertell female ovarian reserve test detects a different hormone called Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Women are born with their quota of eggs. As a woman ages so do her eggs and the quality of those eggs decline. The ovarian reserve test detects when the FSH is at a level that indicates that the egg quality has decreased and the chances of the egg being fertilised are reduced. Fertell is a fertility test for ovarian reserve and gives a measure of underlying fertility through assessing the egg quality.

It has made me feel a little more relaxed that my FSH is fine and therefore my ovarian reserve is at the normal level. They have a male fertility test also, so I may persuade DH to take one, even though he is five years younger than me! if we have had no luck this month!!

Becky I missed the war in the womb, I tried to find it but there was nothing, then I realised that I read your post on Friday and it must have been Thursday night doh was it good? Any good pointers or tip bits???

BoosieBoo gulp, I cannot believe how many times you bd last month. I am going to buy some preseed. My bd will start on Thursday! Here comes another session.

Villagemum how is the DP going??

Snowflake Never ever thought we could buy pre-seed on Amazon? am going to give it a go in a little while, whilst boss is not looking.

smileycat · 09/12/2008 08:22

Had a really great night out last night with the girls, it was really nice not to think about ttcing & have a few drinks (few too many)eat loads & boogie the night away, paying for it now though as I didn't get in till 230 & was a little bit drunker than I wanted to be. Only another 2 parties to go to this wk my poor body will def need a rest next wk, but with a marathon BDing wk planned to start on Sunday I'm going to need the Xmas break to sleep

smileycat · 09/12/2008 08:07

Well put Becky

BeckyMcG · 08/12/2008 22:08

I think men just see things differently to us. In a way I like it as I reckon 2 people obsessing together might be worse, sometimes when one person is saying 'chill out' it makes it better. But sometimes (and I have certainly experienced this) it leads them to say things that we find hurtful and they don't even really mean. It's their way of saying 'it's painful for us too but we don't know how to express it as we're severely emotionally retarded - we can't help it - it's in our genes'.

queenie1 · 08/12/2008 14:55

Snowflake - (like your new name by the way)...I think you read quite accurately into what he said to me. He just wants a bit of a laugh and to not let this consume us too much.

But, as smiley says, it's not easy. Smiley, I couldn't have put it better. So much so that I might show him your post - i.e. it's hard, difficult and there are lots of people who feel like this.

xx

pinkie08 · 08/12/2008 14:22

No worries,

enjoy those quick stolen moments over the next week, it might make it more fun.

iggypiggy · 08/12/2008 13:45

sorry pinkie08 cross posted

Thanks for link - will have a read... is annoying that next week I am out at various things - as is DH - and that will be the key time for BDing - will have to make sure we find time.

smileycat · 08/12/2008 13:28

Queenie I think sometimes our other halves don't realise how much ttcing takes over our lifes & how hurtful they can be when they say stupid inappropriate comments, its such an emotional rollercoaster for us, building ourselves up to start again for another month, all the worring of timing, then worring during the 2WW that we are doing everything right, not eating the wrong thing, taking the vitamins, not drinking the wrong thing etc etc...then the dreaded AF signs as well as the symtom spotting only to find out it didn't work & you have to pick yourself up again, give him the smile that says you are not really heartbroken & are ready to give it another go the next month when all you want to do is shout & scream that its not fair................
Sorry rant over, deep breath, hormones must be pumping today

iggypiggy · 08/12/2008 12:49

thanks queenie1 and sn0wflake

that does make sense

I love the way my brain has melted when thinking about all the ttc business - am so worried about getting stuff right I completely forget any previous knowledge...

honestly - they teach you that in sex education at school and in Biology - ha ha...

pinkie08 · 08/12/2008 12:46

Hi all,

Havent been on in ages as had dd home from school with head injury. Shes ok thank goodness.

Anyway

Ilove so so sorry for you, sending you lots of hugs and dairy milk.

iggypiggy I wasnt sure but everything i read suggests that the most important time is before ov have a look at sperm meets egg plan it seems to explain things quite simply.

I am only at the beginning of this cycle and am still fed up from last months BFN.

I just need to dust myself off and get the grapefruit juice out the fridge.

Sn0wflake · 08/12/2008 12:43

iggy It's pretty much the three days leading up to ovulation and 1 day after. Basically because the sperm can hang around for a while waiting for ovulation to occur.

Queenie That sounds awful. I'm sure your partner didn't mean to be so hurteful and just said it in the heat of the moment. I think he just probably wants the two of you to have a nice Christmas together. OK I'm reading a lot into what you wrote. Anyway I hope you are OK now.

queenie1 · 08/12/2008 12:41

Hi Iggy

No expert but I think that the idea is that sperm can live for up to about five days (usually three days though), but that an egg once released can only live 12 - 24 hours unless it is fertilised. So hence sex before ovulation means there is sperm present and waiting should you ovulate but that once you have ovulated, you have a max of 24 hours to fertilise it.

Does that help / make sense?

x

iggypiggy · 08/12/2008 11:38

Thanks queenie1

sounds like the stress of ttc is taking its toll on you both have a virtual hug from me x

Have been thinking - can anyone help me with this.... On the fertility friend chart it has listed 3 fertile days before predicted ovulation. This confused me... surely ovulation is when you are fertile?

when is 'crucial' time? is it just ovulation - or the days running up to it too?

queenie1 · 08/12/2008 11:16

enjoy your parties smiley and iggy Bubblebell - very confusing. Frustrating as it is, I guess all you can do is wait for a few days to test again. I know what you mean about bursting into tears on doctor. Hope you have a sympathethic one!!

I'm feeling completely shattered this morning after a massive row with DH last night. It was all over whether or not to bother ttcing this month. After 18 months of this, 3 MCs and a lot of heartache all this is really taking its toll. His line of the night (out of many) was that there was no point in going for it this month 'cause I never get pregnant

smileycat · 08/12/2008 10:28

iggy I also have a night out tonight that I'm really looking forward to, 1st of 3 this wk Xmas is comming & as I'm only on CD5 I'm going to relax all wk & have a few drinks then start ttcing early next wk when I'm due to OV
bubble fingers crossed for you that you will get an answer to why your AF is late....some women don't get a +ive test result until a couple of months into the pregnancy, don't want to get your hopes up but you could be one of those!!

iggypiggy · 08/12/2008 09:30

So sorry to read about your loss Ilove

That's very confusing bubblebell1

I have an exciting party tonight, so that will distract me for the rest of the day Ihope. Can be hard not to think about ttc... am finding...

bubblebell1 · 08/12/2008 09:00

ILove im so so sorry to hear of your loss. big hugs

how are you all?

STILL no AF for me and a BFN yesterday morning. i am baffled. this has never happened before. i can only assume im not ovulating. i have a drs appointment this afternoon but i am not holding out for many answers... prob be told to just wait for af.

is there anything i should ask??? tests i need.. not got a clue what to say really and scared i will just burst into tears and not tell him what i want.

good luck to you all...

smileycat · 08/12/2008 08:19

Ilove big hug (((hug)))
