Im trying for an August baby

Never investigated bubble, always had a policy of not testing early. I've only ever used Clearblue (digital and analogue!)

bubble, i think first response are 4 days before af is due. I think i also ov-ed yesterday so will do the 2ww with you!

i bought 2 first response tests today and the advert said they work up to a week before you af is due?

does ne1 know if this is true?? if i ovulated yesterday when would be the earliest i could take a pg test? im so impatient already.

Hello, can I join you all? I might just scrape in for the August thing. It's a bit complicated but bear with me...

Had a mc at 6 weeks on the 18th Oct, well that's the date I'm dating it, I was bleeding on and off for a week before that. By the 22nd my hCG levels were back to normal, so a week or so later I started thinking about using some OPK sticks, just out of curiosity as I was getting what looked like EWCM and lo and behold got a positive for LH surge on the Saturday, 2 weeks after mc. Cue frantic bedroom action for a couple of days and now I'm on the 2ww. Had very erect and tingly nips the past week, and what may have been implantation pains last Tuesday (three days after said frantic bedroom activity) or could have just been my imagination. Trying not to think too much about this or symptom spot too much, but darn it, it feels like I'm getting milk let downs and I haven't bf for three months now!

Sooooo, long story, but that's me. TTC #2, have 14 month old DS. I guess I'm on cd24, but that's dating it from my mc, so who knows really?

Hiya, moving over from July thread which was our first official cycle of ttc this time. I expect to be on these threads a while though, as it took us 18 months to fall with my DD and I have various health conditions that may make it harder. I'm type 2 diabetic (altho that's almost gone since my gastric bypass in January). I've lost 8st 9lb since just after having my DD (about 5 and a half stone less now than when I conceived her) so hoping that's gonna make things happen a bit faster this time. DH is only home fri/sat nights which doesn't help! Good luck everyone.

Hi Issy, just wanted to wish you luck on this 2ww! How did your IUI go? I hope it was a pleasant experience (as far as IUI's go LOL)

Bluebell - yes cycle day 1 is the first day of your period. At my clinic they don't count it if full flow arrives after 6pm. Fertilityfriend.com has a great downloadable guide to ttc.

I'm having IUI with donor sperm so I have used ov sticks since the beginning along with the scans. I don't always get a positive though and a couple of cycles ago I didn't ovulate according to the scan but got a positive ov test after the scan showed the follicles dying back, so they're not 100% reliable, but something to consider along with other signs (cm, temperature, etc).

did you all use ov tests from the start?

thank you for your advice. I am going to london this week so will have look in superdrug ( not in uk, in case that sounds weird!) especially if they are bogof. i got first response as nthey were bogof but only 5 for about £18

Am going to test again this evenig but I wonder if i've missed ov as pain has subsided, or if pain was something else.

Olivo - I use clearblue - that's what my clinic give me, but even though they say can use fmu I sometimes find that gives a negative and later in the day I get a positive, whcih ties in with what other tests say. Have also used superdrug but you only get 5 in a pack - tho they are often (including right now) BOGOF.

I use Clearblue digital which unfort. cost a fortune (£20 for 7 ) but you get either a smiley face (ovul) or a circle (not). You don't have to fret looking at lines.

Olivo, i think that when you get the strong line it means you will ovulate in the next few days so get BD'ing!!!

I am really confused with what is happening. I did another OPK this morning that gave a strong pink line, same colour as control line, but the pains i am getting are stronger, right down next to my left hip.i've never had this before. will try to bd tonight but i don't know whether i've missed my chance or what. was hoping to wake dh and pester him but dd woke before us all and came into our bed!!

Hello ladies. I'm going to take myself off the list as not feeling positive at all this month so 99.9% certain I won't fall pregnant. DH & I have been working a bit too much, then he's away for a couple of nights and also DD has been poorly (i.e. a lot of night wakenings) so we have hardly BDed and won't get many opportunities now (sad as I had some EWCM today & yest). Plus my head is really in the wrong place right now and really if we delay TTC for a couple of months this might be better all round...

bexxa, i am using first response opk, used them and boots own last time and they worked for me.
Can anyone help? i'm on cd10 and just now have got a very very faint line on my opk - does this mean i am entering my few days before ovulation and the line will get stronger till ov? had some funny pains today and a bit of spotting.

Trying very hard not to symptom spot, esp as am only 3 dpo and still have early pg symptoms from the hcg injection. The time I got pg through IUI I went away in the final week and forced myself to leave the test at home, so didn't do any early testing, so am going to try really hard not to test early this month, despite having 20 internet cheapies and three cb digitals in the house (BTW cb is 20% off at Sainsburys at mo).
